Systematic electronic issues culminating in electronic failures while driving on highway including successive “shut-down” of electrical systems, all codes displayed including but not limited to the following: -Forward Collision -Services Transmission -Service Engine -Service Alternator -Service EMS System Disruption to electrical functions including loss of power steering, acceleration, and brake system “locking” up.

My 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude has had issues with the backup camera not working properly. It is NOT included in the recall for the 2022-2023 Compass with the same issues. The screen display will only show a black screen with "Check entire surroundings".

The UConnect screen does not display images. You cannot see radio controls, temperature controls, etc. The screen is consistently showing bright white lines across the whole thing which is very distracting when driving at night.

When I first purchased my car, for some reason it kept starting, and then the engine would turn off in the middle of driving. As of lately the Key fob has been undetected in the car or battery is low. I have replaced my key fob twice. I have also replaced my batteries in both of the key fobs. After I replace the key fob, the check engine light came on in the car is stalling not starting properly. Sometimes I have to press the multiple times for it to start up. Recently I was driving and my car just stalled and I could not get it to start again. I have had this happen to me over 10 times. There was a recall for exactly what was happening to my car. NHTSA Recall 18v-524 just that my car was not recalled. I am now without a car and it clearly is experiencing EXACTLY what the recall says. over 5 times I was on the road when the car stalled / stopped while I was driving. It just stopped in the middle of the road. Now my car will not start at all. I have not even had the car for two years. The car has 40,000 miles on it. I got the car at 20,000 miles. They have been 6 recalls for cars like mine however my specific VIN was not included. The recalls that I am most concerned with. u87 and w20.

Warning lamp:"stop safely. vehicle will shut off soon" the car will shut off while driving. The warning is not sufficient enough to ignore that fairly new cars are shutting down on the road for no reason. There are numerous complaints about this same issue and I am wondering what is it going to take for jeep to take accountability and fix this. We should not have to pay for this repair. Resolution unknown. We are supposed to guess. No information is offered through a diagnostic check. As you can see this vehicle has 46,000 miles on it. Regular maintenance. Serviced at the dealer numerous times.

My car has had an ongoing issue where it doesn’t start and has even stopped while I was driving before and not turned on again. I had the battery changed and still the same issue. My gps is not locating the correct location of my car, also the warnings are wrong (blind spot, etc.) they go off sometimes when there is nothing there. Before I could properly engage my blinker and pull off the roadway in a safe manner, the vehicle resumed normal operating status and temperatures read normal. This has happened over 5x, speed driven during each event varying from 28-65. Weather was mild, two events occurring in winter months with temps no more than 45 F. Coolant was checked and appeared to be at normal levels following the latest event. The roadway conditions, traffic rules and conditions of overall transportation system when this alert disengages driver's ability to control speed of vehicle put driver and passengers at risk of being rear ended by traffic traveling in the same direction from behind. Especially in South Dakota, the place of for owner and driver of this JEEP Compass, where large pick up trucks hauling livestock or other ag products and semi trucks hauling general trailer loads are commonplace.

The infotainment screen is delaminating, which seems to be an extremely common issue in this model year along with other models and years that use the same screen.

2018 Jeep Compass Limited has the OEM Bi-Xenon option equipped. The issue is with both headlights operating intermittently. It does not matter what position the headlight switch is in (Auto, On) they continue to alternate turning on and off.

Stop/Start system We took the car to get it checked out within the first month due to hard shift and for warning light. We were told the warning light for stop/start was on because it needed an update. It came back on within a few months.

When stopping at a red light the start/stop system activated and the truck would not restart. There was an alert saying service ecs system and the parking brake activated on its own. It took about 10 minutes for us to be able to deactivate the parking brake and for it to start again.

On April 9, 2023, May 19, 2023 June 4, 2023 and today June 7, 2023 as I was driving the car stopped without warning. In both insistence in June I was entering the highway and had to pull over. In the upper right of the dashboard where it states the operation (I.e R for for reserve, d for drive and etc) it changed from "RUN" to "On".

On 3 separate occasions since we purchased the vehicle, the Start/Stop function, where it shuts down at a light or Stop sign, has failed to restart the vehicle upon pressing the gas pedal. We have had to have the vehicle towed for service each time, and they are now replacing the starter again after having replaced it and the fuse link, as well as battery issues related to the start/stop function. Each time, this has happened in intersection (stop light). We have always taken it to an official MOPAR/CDRJ service center for repair. It has less than 16,000 miles on it. There was no warning or indication this was going to occur each time, it just fails to start back up after the start/stop function activates.

As I was pulling my 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk to a light off the highway exit, the vehicle did its automatic stop the engine function. After about 4 seconds a "high coolant temp, shutdown vehicle" note appeared. The engine turned off and I lost complete control.

When at a stop sign the car auto shut off. After releasing the break, the car would not restart and would not go into park. After a few minutes of panic, I was able to move the gear shifter to park and after several attempts, the car barely restarted.

The emergency brake lights up and engages randomly. This has happened several times while driving, causing the vehicle to slow to a stop, and requiring a restart.

The touch screen stereo that also houses the back up camera is going out at only 40,000 miles. This controls many functions and randomly stops working and works again. It first started one month ago but is not fully out.

For the second time this week , the emergency brakes have engaged while my vehicle was in motion . Both times in the middle of a busy intersection . The car gives me about 5 seconds to try to get to somewhere safe before it totally cuts off.

Coolant overflow thruogh the repirator and that coolant drop in the computer of the transmition, and don't let the car star or turn off bucouse ther no comunication, end, and I think is a manufactuere defect

The touch screen continuously goes out flickers with lines across it. The touch is operational, but you can’t see anything. There is no other way to use these functions besides the screen and it is not visible.

I will be driving and suddenly the car stops. The parking break comes on and the car won't start. Takes awhile to get it restarted.

Vehicle has shut down while driving during three separate occasions between 2021 and 2022. While driving, the vehicle flashed a message across the dashboard stating wording about the Electric system and the coolant levels went up, the car stopped for a few seconds, the parking brake came on, radio went off (car powered down) then everything went back to normal.

My car will flash a "Coolant Temperature Too High" message, vehicle shuts itself down. There is no way it’s too hot and it is really unsafe for my car to just shut down.

The Jeep started to get vertical lines in the 7 inch u connect screen. At first you could tap it and it would reset. Now, it is completely covered with vertical lines, the radio works, however the problem is the back camera does not show what is behind you due to the screen covered in vertical lines.

The stock radio is extremely hazardous. It started to delimite. It glitches all the time and takes my focus off the road.

The unconnect radio worked fine for 3 years until I would have the heat running a while and then the screen would either go completely black or black with colored lines going through it. Since it has warmed up and now summer, I can come out and the screen does not work. This cause a safety issue it’s many blind spots in the vehicle and hard to see when going in reverse!

My Jeep burns through oil very fast. My oil change sticker will stay I do not need an oil change for 2,000 more miles but my car will shut off WHILE driving and then be hesitant to restart. My engine light will then turn on.

The touchscreen randomly started switching between phone calls, navigation, and other functions of system due to touchscreen separating from the LCD of the unit. Malfunction distracting and disabled functionality of the system.

Was pulling into traffic and my car had a low oil pressure light come on and the car shut off almost got hit 3 days later the wiring system when crazy wouldn't let me shut the car off causing my car to over heat

At random once the vehicle is cranked the odometer will begin blinking and not stop until turned off. Our car has been reset twice and it is only temporary. Was told that it was a motherboard that was 800$ to replace but if clearing it works they would clear it until it became an issue.

My vehicle will not start on the first try have to try about 7 times. The radio has stopped working, and I keep getting random error messages popping up on my screen.

The u connect display panel >GPS/ radio etc. Shuts down by itself while I'm driving the vehicle( in motion) ,the screen goes black for no apparent reason, then restarts itself, also while I'm driving at about 35-40 MPH the engine or motor ( not sure) makes a loud sound like its down shifting on its own, almost like engine braking?

2018 jeep compass with around 40,000 miles will shut off at highway speeds, normal driving speeds 30-70 MPH, leaving the power steering, electrical, and engine disabled until the car is parked, power is off for a few minutes then the car will turn back on. This has happened about a dozen times to this vehicle in the last few weeks.

Without any warnings, I was getting ready to leave for the day and my car would not start. The car attempts to turn on but it won't turn over. I thought it was the battery but it's not.

I have had the car a year and the emergency brake randomly comes on by itself without having to push the emergency brake button. It usually happens when in reverse or just cranking the vehicle. Also tonight my radio and USB port completely turned off like I had turned my car off, while I was going down the road at 70 MPH.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 jeep compass. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced electrical failures. The contact stated that several unknown indicators flashed on the instrument panel and the turn signals and blind spot monitor failed to work.

During cold weather/ and randomly driving down highway, engine will cutout and not restart. Also when parked engine will crank, but not start. Even if you replace battery- does nothing.

I was at a stop light when my auto stop came on. When I let off the brake the car did start back up. I finally got it to start after a minute.

Auto start/stop does not function properly 100% of the time. Pulling up to a red light the engine stops and on numerous occasions, the vehicle will not turn back on until the vehicle has been completely turned off and restarted. Can become a dangerous situation if there is a vehicle running up behind you and your vehicle refuses to start back up.

After starting car and driving emergency break engages and car shuts off while in motion. Upon turning off, "low oil pressure" warning comes up for less than 3 seconds and then disappears.. And engine stays off.

I bought my jeep compass 2018 in april of 2018. When I was finally able to drive it at night I realized the touch screen and instrument panel did not dim when the headlights came on as it says that it will do. It makes it very difficult to drive at night with how bright the displays are.

Lights of the instrument panel are not able to be dimmed.

Multiple issues with car display, and dimmer capabilities. Navigation screen and backup camera blindingly bright when dark out, creating safety hazard. Had instrument panel cluster software update recall work completed but issue not resolved with recall work.

Instrument cluster is very bright at night, affecting the ability to see the roadway. Instrument cluster does not dim when attempting to adjust brightness. Instrument cluster does not adjust to compensate from daylight to darkness.

Vehicle unintentionally 'remote' started in my closed garage. Vehicle was stationary.there is no option, either by software interface or mechanical means to disable the 'remote start' feature. I suspect the key fob was inadvertently pressed while in my pants pocket.

Instrument cluster lighting control including dimmer, headlight 'on' sensor, dash ambiant light sensor, related software do not function properly. Unable to dim dash at night with dimmer control & or 'auto night dim' does not function. The blinding brightness of the dash at night is not only discomforting it is hazardous.

Instrument panel and infotainment screen dimmer control does not work. The light from these screens is too bright at night. It is unsafe to drive the vehicle at night because the glare from the screens makes it difficult to see forward.

Instrument panel lighting cannot be dimmed: blinds driver during night driving. The speedometer scale does not change from MPH to kph. This becomes very problematic when crossing from the us to canada!

There is an issue with the sensor controlling the brightness of the console and navigation screen. At night, the brightness gets set to the highest setting, which is absolutely blinding, and the dimmer switch does does not work. This is a safety issue and is causing harm to my eyes.

The instrument panel dimmer switch is inoperable. The speedometer, and entire gauge cluster, is stuck on full brightness during nighttime driving and is very dangerous as it is blindingly bright in my face.

The instrument light sensor malfunctions and keeps all the interior lights (except dome lights) in full brightness all the time which makes it very dangerous driving at night.

I had my vehicle diagnosed due to interior lights do not dim at night leaving the jeep very bright and dangerous. I have called jeep and they refuse to fix the issue or give me a solution on what to do! They still refuse at of today 9/26/17.
