I AM CONCERNED THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT INCLUDING MY EFFECTED YEAR JEEP BUT IS LEAP FROGGING TO THE 2002-2007 JEEP LIBERTYS. I HAVE THE SAME CONFIGURATION AS THE 1993-1998 JEEPS. DOES NOT SEEM FAIR. *TR
INTERMITTENT A/C FAILURE. BEGINNING IN 2006, COMPLAINED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP/SERVICE THAT A/C KEPT CUTTING OUT/QUITTING. EVAPORATER REPLACED. I CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. A/C SWITCH WAS REPLACED. I CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED. I CONTINUED TO HAVE E PROBLEMS. JEEP WAS BACK & FORTH 1/2 DOZEN MORE TIMES WITH SAME COMPLAINT. I CONTINUED TO HAVE SAME PROBLEM. NOW UP TO $2K. TOOK JEEP TO A/C SPECIALIST. THEY REPLACED ANOTHER SWITCH & SAID SYSTEM WAS OVER CHARGED...EVACUATED SYSTEM & RECHARGED - $400. JEEP CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE SAME PROBLEM. THEY (A/C SHOP) NOW SAY COMPRESSOR CLUTCH (PART OF NEW COMPRESSOR) IS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY & JEEP SHOULD HONOR WARRANTY ON COMPRESSOR & REPAIR CLUTCH. *TR
THE FAILURE IS IN THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THE FAILURE CAUSES THE AIR CONDITIONER TO ONLY BLOW COLD AIR. THE REPAIR WOULD COST BETWEEN $1500 AND $2500. *TR
I HAVE A BLEND DOOR PROBLEM WITH MY 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IN FOR THE REPAIR YET, BUT I PURCHASED AN EXTENED WARRANTY. THIS ISSUES DOES SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM, AND WHEN MY WARRANTY EXPIRES I HOPE NOT TO HAVE THIS AS AN ISSUE AFTER IT GETS FIXED
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHEN THE HEATER WAS ACTIVATED, THERE WAS NO HEAT COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE CONTACT ADDED ANTIFREEZE TO THE VEHICLE, BUT THE HEAT STILL WOULD NOT WORK. SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE AND THEY PERFORMED A FLUSH. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE, BUT THE PIPES BECAME HOT. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE REVOLVING BLEND DOORS AND THE HEATING BLEND DOORS. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD PAY A PORTION OF THE REPAIR COST. WHEN SHE WENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED, THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED, NO ONE FROM THE DEALER CALLED TO INFORM HER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
AIR CONDITIONER (A/C) BLOWING COLD AIR OUT OF ONE SIDE. *AK
2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR FAILURE WITH FREON LEAKING INTO VEHICLE. FREON DISPLACED OXYGEN AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO BECOME DROWSY. *AK
TL* - WHILE CHANGING THE TIRE ON HER 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, THE JACK WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE JACK WOULD ONLY GO UP TO A CERTAIN HEIGHT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO RAISE THE VEHICLE ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE TIRE. THE CONTACT COULDN'T PROVIDE A PART NUMBER OR SERIAL NUMBER FOR JACK. *JB UPDATED 03/07/07*JB
I HAVE A 00 CHEROKEE AND THE EVAPORATOR STARTED LEAKING I ONLY HAVE 39300 MILES ON THIS CAR.I THINK THAT THE EVAPORATOR SHOULD HAVE HAD LASTED LONGER THAN THIS.I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM CHRYSLER HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE 1985. *AK
MY HAS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED AND THE AIR CONDITIONER HAS MELTED WHERE IT PLUGS INTO THE RESISTOR THAT GOES TO THE BLOWER MOTOR. I WENT TO A LOCAL SALVAGE YARD IN HOPES OF FINDING A WRECKED VEHICLE SIMILAR TO OURS TO BUT THE WIRING HARNESS. TO MY DISMAY HE HAD 2 BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE PROBLEM THEY HAD BURNED, WITH FIRES STARTING AT THE RESISTOR DESCRIBED ABOVE. I LEFT JEEP AN EMAIL EXPLAINING WHAT I FOUND AND THAT WAS AFRAID OURS WOULD COME TO THE SAME FATE. THERE RESPONSE WAS THAT THERE WERE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. SO I WENT THE A LOCAL JEEP DEALER TO BUY A NEW WIRING HARNESS($500 THEIR COST)AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A PATCH OR FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I DON'T MIND SPENDING THE MONEY TO FIX OUR CAR BUT IF THERE WAS NOT A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHY WOULD THERE BE A PATCH OR QUICK FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE A 2 YR. OLD SON AND I REALLY DON'T WANT MY WIFE TO USE THIS CAR BUT WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. I JUST WONDER HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM AND NEVER REPORTED IT, NOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON CERTAIN DODGE RAM PICK UPS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM, WHY HASN'T THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE BEEN RECALLED? *AK
A FOWL ODOR WAS SEEPING INTO VEHICLE FROM AIR CONDITIONER (A/C). PLASTIC WITHIN UNIT HAS MELTED DOWN AND CORRODED FROM USING HEAT IN WINTER TIME. MOISTURE INSIDE THE UNIT HAS CAUSED MILDEW AND DEALER HAS SPRAYED A ANTI- FUNGUS BACTERIA ON THE COILS, KILLING THE BACTERIA, AND REFRESHING VEHICLE. ODOR AND FUNGUS STILL THERE. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER IN JUNE TO FIND OUT THAT ENTIRE A/C UNIT HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR A COST OF $ 89.00 AT CONSUMER'S COST. CONSUMER DOES A LOT OF TRAVELING, AND NEEDS THE VEHICLE FOR TRASNSPORTATION. CONSUMER PLEASE ADD VIN# AND MILEAGE TO THIS FORM.*AK

FEELING MISS/JERK AT APPROXIMATELY 10 SECOND INTERVALS. DEALER ADVISED IT IS THE AIR CONDITIONER CYCLING ON/OFF. CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HAS NO FIX AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. SAYS IT IS DUE TO AGGRESSIVE COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT.*AK
