When picking up my children from daycare, my 2024 Palisade (37K miles) would not shift into park. It was stuck in the reverse position. It would not shift to any drive, park, or neutral. Even in the reverse position, the car would not move. I applied the emergency brake and had to turn the car off without placing it in park. When I restarted the car, and place it in reverse, the engine made clunking noise. The dash said "Shifting Malfunction. Service Immediately".

This complaint is in regards to RECALL 255 TO ADDRESS A CONDITION INVOLVING THE ENGINE VALVE SPRING(S). Hyundai leased us a Palisade under this recall without informing us about the recall until after we had signed the lease paperwork. We were told there was a stop sale on the car when we went to pick it up the next day and we were not allowed to drive it off the lot. We have been without our car for over 9 weeks due to Hyundai not resolving this recall in a timely manner. No definitive update has been provided on when this recall will be resolved and when we will get our leased car.

I called the manufacturer twice about the recall 255. I feel usafe driving the vehicle after reading the recall report and cases. I called the dealership it was purchased from twice also and just got brushed off. Hyundai customer care put me on hold and hung up. I spent over $56,000 on this vehicle and expect better than this.
