2017 Honda Accord Other Problems

I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding a known and recurring defect in the infotainment/head unit system of my 2017 Honda Accord. Like many other Honda owners, I am experiencing unpredictable and extremely loud static or popping sounds through the speakers, which occur without warning while the vehicle is in operation. This issue significantly compromises vehicle safety.

I have a 2017 Honda Accord that the back up camera is not working. I sent an incident report previously. I see the 2017 back up camera has a recall.

After driving for about 20 -30 minutes there is a very, very loud noise that appears to come from the stereo speakers (even if the stereo system isn’t on). It is so loud that I do not hear emergency personnel coming. It has been several occasions that an accident is almost caused because of not being able to hear police or ambulance sirens.

Past couple weeks, there is loud static noise coming from speaker after 15 to 20 minutes drive. It is impossible to stop and it is so loud that affects the driving, and easily causing accident if the driver not calming down. Sometime there is noise coming from the back amplifier, even I shut down the audio system.

While driving on September 6, 2023 I sunroof exploded and had glass everywhere. I almost killed myself. Very very dangerous and Honda should be held accountable (Sunroof glass Exploded)

The audio entertainment system malfunctions and randomly makes extremely loud static noises, squealing, beeping, thumping and bass sounds, from all speakers. These noises can't be controlled or stopped, as they happen even when the audio is turned off. The noises are extremely unpleasant, uncomfortable, and loud enough to cause hearing loss.

There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. NHTSA Recall 18V-629 This specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.

Glitchy infotainment system crashes (specifically Apple CarPlay). Users have to unplug phone and plug it back in multiple times while driving.

On 9-12-2019, my wife experienced a sudden acceleration with her 2017 honda accord. She turned into a parking space at a local funeral home, stopped and was about to put the car in park.

On the night on july 3, 2017 the 2017 honda accord which was only 5 weeks old was parked in the driveway of my house. The car was in park and the motor was turned off. You would not be able to remove the key unless the car was in park.

Collision detection system falsely goes off on a regular basis due to opposing traffic. Slams brakes to floor, overriding accelerator- has happened in the middle of an intersection twice and on a two way straightaway with no vehicle in my lane. I've had the car for 1 month and almost been in 3 accidents due to this faulty system which I am now deactivating.

Vehicle stalled while travelling. I suspect this is a problem of the high pressure fuel pump gathering particulates and not working as proper. There is a similar recall regarding the V6 models of my vehicle, however, the 4 cylinder models were left unaddressed.

Rear-backup camera went black after I drove car to pick up son at friends house at night camera worked, parked car overnight, went to use car next morning rear camera inop, I thought it was fuse so I checked fuse, not blown.took car in to honda dealership 2 days later stated it was p&a due to failure, est. At over $700 to replace. Very unhappy since car is only 4yrs old and only 40k miles.

Car needed to be jumped started twice. Dealership unable to find causeo of battery not functioning. Towed to dealership.

My 2017 honda accord (v-6) had no electrical power on 9-17-2017. There were 800+ miles on the car. The car's electrical system was dead; no sign of electrical power at all.

Your car's radio produces very loud static noise from the back speakers within 30 minutes of driving, even when the radio is off. The noise moves toward the front speakers and lasts 15-20 minutes before stopping on its own or when you turn off the car. You cannot control the volume of this noise. While driving, the vehicle intermittently emits an extremely loud, high-pitched static or screeching noise through the speakers. The sound is sudden, piercing, and startling. Most concerning, this occurs even when the audio system volume is turned completely off.

While driving, both the digital instrument cluster and the center infotainment screen will randomly freeze, become completely unresponsive, or shut off entirely. This occurs without warning and while the vehicle is in motion. When the instrument cluster freezes or turns off, critical driving information such as speed, warning indicators, fuel level, and other safety alerts are no longer visible.

The car will suddenly have a high-pitched screaming coming from the speakers for no apparent reason with no way to stop the noise. Turning the sound system to zero volume or even turning the power to the radio off does not stop the noise. I have measured the decibel level between 80 -128 decibels with no way to make it stop.

There is loud static noise coming from the radio that’s affecting all the speakers even when the radio is powered off the static is there, I checked online and found that a 2017 Honda Accord that’s experiencing the same issues. The sounds is absolutely nerve wrecking it triggered my autistic son that he no longer wants to ride in the vehicle because of the noise.

This 2017 Honda Accord has recently been making very loud static noises from the speakers. It gets so loud and the only way to turn it off is to turn off the engine and restart. The static noise always comes back though, so this is clearly a safety issue.

My speakers randomly make this EXTREMELY loud static and even with volume off it doesn’t stop. It’s very distracting and hard to focus on driving while it’s going on! This has been happening almost everyday!

The ABS/VSA module system malfunctioned/failed. Based on information on online forums and the independent service center I utilized…this has happened before with the 9th generation Honda Accords. There is a A/C Condenser Leak on the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid similar to the ones that happened on the Honda Civics of this time period. The Honda Civics got extended warranties for the Condenser Leaks, but the Honda Accords did not.

LOUD crackling static noise coming from all stereo speakers randomly. Nothing can stop this loud static noise, except by pulling over off the road and restarting the vehicle. This happens randomly and does not matter whether you are using bluetooth or not using bluetooth, plugged in charging using USB or listening to music on phone with USB.

Loud static noise from audio after car turned on for around 5 minutes. This is very unsafe to drive and can't hear anything surrounding when driving. I also searched online and youtube and also found lot of car owners of Honda Accord 2016, 2017 have similar issues.

Infotainment system sends out massive distortion, crackling and popping noises through all of the car, audio speakers. Extremely loud and will even happen when you have pushed the power off button to the audio system. Car is undrivable.

Backup camera failed. Honda is keeping cheap quality backup cameras that are failing easily. I have seen 1.2 million cars recalled for back up camera issues.

Hello, I have been having issue since I bought my car new it has about 48,000 miles on the on. The AC system I am having issue with for a very long time most of the time AC has intermittent issue will blow cold and will blow hot and will freeze and will see water splashing out of my vent. Please help I have called the dealer and they told me they cannot help me .

The rear backup camera quit working making it more dangerous to back up without it. The dealer was too busy to examine it for awhile. I believe it may be a cable problem like was identified on other Honda models recently because my camera screen is also blank.

There are three things concerning to me, I'm order of importance: 1) when I drive it's almost as if the transmission is slipping the way the car jerks. Not a safety issue ?? Something keeps killing the battery on the car .replaced battery twice if you leave for a week the battery is dead. Have a coworker that has the same year and model with same issue.have brought to honda twice only to be told there is nothing wrong??!!

Tamara recall - sometimes but not all there is hesitation when making left hand turns after stopping at a traffic light. Occasionally this will happen with right hand turns but not as often. I had coggin honda in st augustine check the problem out but they could not determine there was a problem with the car but thought it was a driver error.

The tires that came with the car are not suitable for driving in winter conditions. The tread pattern is designed for dry roads. There are no channels for accumulating slush, snow, etc.

When car is running for an hour or more and then stationary (outside in the driveway) with the cabin air on, the smell of gasoline is coming into the cabin and is very noticeable. I took my baby daughter out for a drive to get her to fall asleep and when I reached home I usually sit with her in the car while it runs, but the smell was so strong that I had to wake her and remove her from the car.

There is a loud wind noise on the driver's side of the car. It was noticeable when I drove on the highway above 60 MPH. I had it evaluated by the honda care center and they replaced the window strip; however, once I accelerate past 40 MPH it is even more pronounced tjan before.

2017 accord lx * automatic transmission * 3000 miles I have new accord lx and the I drove it on the highway, my wife and I noticed wind noise coming from the driver side door panel. We checked that all the window and doors were firmly shut, but it persisted. Now with the radio off I notice it every time I accelerate to above 40 MPH

Brand new 2017 honda accord sport 2500 miles. Air started blowing hot. Took it to the honda dealership.

My new accord with a v6 engine likes to engine brake by itself. As a result it will not coast and makes braking unpredictable and very tiring, especially when doing city driving that involves stop signs and red lights. When in medium traffic between 25 and 40 MPH you can feel it downshifting every time.

I unlocked my car using the buttons on my key. I put my my purse along with my phone and my key in the car and I close the door and went to the trash to throw away an empty cup. When I got back to my car 2 minutes later the car relocked itself with my purse my phone and the keys in the car.

My back-up camera stopped working at around 40,000 miles of driving. When I put my car in reverse, I only get a black screen. There was a similar recall done for back up cameras for Honda Accords in 2018, my car is a 2017.

My vehicle continuously loses battery charge, even when it’s being driven weekly.

My backup camera at first was blurry and now all I can see is black with either orange or yellow lines. I depend on this camera

My 2017 Accord infotainment system's Apple carplay constantly freezes whenever I use it. This is posing as a safety risk because the infotainment unit would randomly freeze up and require shutting off the car and turning it back on in order for it to work again. There are multiple people experiencing this.

The back up camera just quit working it's a black screen when you put to reverse

The rear camera has stops and starts without warning when I put vehicle in reverse. This happens when sitting still.

Rear back-up camera failed on car with less than 28,000 miles. The vehicle is designed with a high rear, so unless the back-up camera is working, there's blind spots when reversing the car. Failure occurred after rare deep freeze/ice/moisture event in late feb 2021.

Rear backup camera has failed. There is similar NHTSA campaign 18v629 that covers 2018 honda accord but not 2017 honda accord. There are several users reporting similar issues with the rear backup camera on the honda accord.

Back up camera stopped working. It only displays orange lines. When trying to adjust the image the screen displays static like lines and also the lights on display screen goes dim.

Backup camera has become blurry and upon research online, there are others having this same problem. There was a recall for 2018 honda accord vehicles, however, this recall needs to apply to all honda's with back up cameras because this is dangerous as the owner cannot see something or someone due to how blurry it is.

Rear camera has malfunctioned. The dashboard screen shows a black background with horizontal 'vibrating ' lines. 2018 honda accords had a recall for this but to date there has been no recall for the 2017 accords although it seems to be the same problem.

Sun roof exploding while driving on interstate

Automobile will just stop starting. After jump starting, it will operate fine for several months. Then problem will resurface.

The car tempts to shake and when put on drive the car won't move forward passing 20 MPH. When the car os placed on reverse the car won't go back and even though I press the accelerator it struggles to go back. This has been doing it for three times already for the past 2 months.

Seats are extremely uncomfortable. They are made for a much larger person and push my head forward. I can't find a car with seats that fit me.
