My car smells like it’s leaking gas and when I took a flash light n went under the car it shows the tank and the hose connected to the tank has signs of it being wet but when the car is running it smells a lot worse and constantly is shaking, shuddering and causing my transmission to malfunction and I’ve read online that there was a re call # 14S20 But i can’t find it on this website
I originally purchased this car in June of 2022. Less than a week after I purchased it, the issues started. My check engine light came on and my vehicle revved high, but did not accelerate. When it did this, it made a mechanical humming/grinding noise. It did this for a few short trips, then the issue seemingly resolved itself...the check engine light never turned off. I got the following codes from my reader: P0420, P2782, and P07A3. This vehicle had multiple recalls regarding the TCM malfunctioning. I tried multiple times to have Ford do the repairs as stated in the recalls. They have refused every single time. I was told that the warranty did not apply to my vehicle, then that the parts were on a major backorder, and that I should leave my car with them for an undisclosed period of time. This is not feasible, as I have 2 jobs and a child. Within the last few months, my transmission has started doing the same thing as well as overheating. I am going through coolant much faster than I should. As the issue gets worse, Ford has been of no assistance. Despite my efforts to have the recall work done as legally required, I have been turned away and am now past the 10 year/150k mile replacement warranty. I had brought it in before it ever reached that point. I am terrified to take my child to school or make it to work. My vehicle stalled on the interstate last night and I almost lost my life. There isn't really a trigger, as it acts up like this at random. Some days I drive it with no issues at all. Others, it takes me nearly an hour to get home on an otherwise 18 minute commute.
The primary issue is a shuddering or jerking sensation when accelerating from a stop or during low-speed maneuvers, especially during the 1st to 2nd gear shift. delayed shifting, slipping gears, and even the vehicle shifting into neutral at inappropriate times.
I have had problems with the tcm when I first got the car and now after having to deal with fixing the coolant reservoir my car is shuddering trying to go over 2 rpm. This makes me never want to have a Ford again. This car almost got me killed when the tcm failed and now I feel unsafe driving with the shuddering going on.
Transmission. It is available for inspection. It is not safe as the car can just stop anywhere. I got a diagnostics test and it’s the transmission. It has been inspected . The warning light popped on and said transmission fault.
I purchased a ford focus 2014 in 2018 and was told everything was OK with my car. Fast forward to 2024, my transmission is now slipping and making noise & shuddering when I drive. Ford refuses to fix my car because the extended warranty to fix the faulty transmission of the ford focus expired. I am now responsible to pay $4,000 if I want to replace it. I was not told that the car had any recalls when I purchased it. I don’t believe that I should be held responsible to fix it when the dual clutch transmission was a known problem with 2011-2017 ford focuses before I bought it. Please HELP to fix my issue. I feel as if I was scammed and no one can help me.
issues with (i'm guessing transmission) vehicle lurching forward when applying brakes, as if brakes aren't being applied at all. I was in traffic and trying to stop, and multiple times while my car tried to switch gears it lurched me forward and almost into the car in front of me. I'm now having to double following space between me and vehicles because I can't predict when the lurching will overpower my brakes. Unknown what is actually causing it as dealers are booked a bit far out and I'm waiting for my appointment to bring it in.
We had a nail that needed to be removed from a tire. Tire Discounters said that the lug nuts have swollen and they cannot tighten the lug nuts without us replacing them. They cannot tighten the lug nuts due to the nuts swelling and not fitting into the lug wrenches anymore. How can Ford sell a product that is inherently unsafe?
My car has Direct Clutch Transmission that I am told has a design flaw so even after a $3,000 transmission repair the problem will re-occur. The car revs like crazy & doesn’t move forward. It is so dangerous when I am transporting my grandchildren to & from school crossing 4-lanes if traffic in town to get to the other side & the transmission does this in front of oncoming traffic! And no - no fatalities yet!
I am writing to express that ford issued an extended customer satisfaction program (19N08) to get transmission issued fixed within a specific window or time and mileage. Unfortunately that time has passed and the opportunity for smoother, safer driving has been missed by many people including me. Ford is unwilling to extend the warranty and fix the transmission issues which I feel is a concern. The car rattles and shakes when I go at a slower speed which I imagine could be dangerous. This fix is over $3,000 and not attainable for the average American to pay out of pocket. Ford needs to extend the warranty for the transmission clutch shift motor to keep the roads safe.
tHIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES AND STILL DOING THE SAME THING. SO OBVIOUSLY NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED, AND FORD HAS CLOSED THIS RECALL ON IT. I CALLED OVER THE CONCERN THAT IT IS STILL NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY OFFER NO HELP OR SOLUTIONS OTHER THAN, TOO BAD IT ISN'T REPAIRED PROPERSLY BUT IF I WANT IT REPAIRED IT WILL HAVE TO PAY. THIS IS A CONCERN THAT THEY CANNOT REPAIR IT PROPERLY AND STILL CLOSE THE RECALL.
This car had transmission problems from the day I bought it. Then with less than 50,000 miles on it, it quit on the highway. I had it towed to the local Ford dealership where they charged me $150. to tell me the antifreeze had leaked into the engine and ruined the engine and it would cost me $9,000 to have it fixed.
In heavy traffic, car slowed down and stopped. Got it started but it hesitated a few times until the next time I had to stop again.

2014 Ford Focus transmission has been giving me problems for years, It shudders badly. I am afraid to drive the car, It has been diagnosed.with needing a transmission. Ford has told me that that is how it supposed to run, Please take a look at all the transmission problems of the ford focus that people continue to have today. This is truly a safety issue. The cars are still on the highway. Having zero recalls doesnt make the road safe if someone doesnt listen and solve the problem of ford focus transmission.
Car just stopped on a 5 lane highway while waiting at traffic light. Car just stopped and would not go forward. All lights came on. Police officer helped get car off of highway and pulled Into a business parking lot. Mechanic looked at vehicle, police officer also looked as well as a few others. Noone could get car started. Friend ended up having to take my 16 yr old son home. This is holiday weekend so dealership not open until next year. Car will need to be towed to dealership for repairs. Car is not recognizing any drive reverse etc...is not safe to drive. All lights came on on the dashboard. Check engine oil light etc...
Car does jerking on initial gears and stall, Rpm increases/decreases suddenly. Engine lights on. Air bag error for driver seat.
Transmission Control Module has failed on the car. The car is currently in the car dealership and can take months to receive the part.
While in heavy traffic, the car started to "shake". At one stop point I removed feet from brakes pedal to move forward, but car did not reacted and stayed in same spot as if car was parked. I then put the par in "P" and then "D" and then I was able to continue driving. Car has been "shaking" and "pulling" after that. That happened two week ago, I call Ford, but they hang up, I leave voicemails and they have not responded.
Transmission has failed. It’s available for inspection. Car wouldn’t drive up an incline. The problem has been reproduced at 2 mechanics. In the first 2 years of owning the car I had taken it to 2 Ford companies and the dealership that it was bought from. Jerking, slowing down between 15-25 miles, car wouldn’t start the first time after turning the key, when opening the door I heard noise coming from under the hood, the radio would turn on when opening the door.
When Ford looked at my car during a recall for the locks I informed them of some problems I noted and they informed me that there were several reports with Ford Focus's concerning the Clutch and The Transmission control module. They said there were no known recalls regarding it. However my car once the RPM hits below a certain point like going to a stop light or going speeds below 35 the car starts to either drag when I accelerate or outright refuse to accelerate. This has happened on several frightening occasions on my way to and from work and almost caused an accident because of the drag. There were no lights or indications that there is a problem with the car.
When pulling into a parking space a few weeks ago all of the sudden my steering became extremely difficult, and an error code came up on the dash. I turned the car off, waited a few minutes, then turned it back on and everything was normal again. Then a week later while pulling out of my driveway it happened again. I pulled back in and shut the car off again, waited a few moments, turned it back on and it was normal again. The following Monday I took it to Crouse Ford in Taneytown, MD to have it evaluated. The service dept determined that the power steering electric rack and pinion assembly needs to be replaced. My car is a 2014 and has just under 67,000. This is not normal wear and tear, and this is definitely a safety hazard as it is extremely difficult to control the car, and there is no warning when it happens. I am very lucky the problem happened to occur while driving very slowly in a relatively safe place with no pedestrians or other vehicles in vicinity. The fact that it is a common problem in this make and model (well documented online) and has not yet been validated as a safety recall is unacceptable. This is a dangerous situation that could cause injury or death.
Transmission, light comes on and off rpm's race and decline loses power. Sometimes won't go into gear. This is a huge safety concern.
Tried to reverse the vehicle and reverse gear was inoperable. Had to have help pushing car in reverse. A light came on the dashboard that read "Transmission Fault Service now." Car would not reverse, and it began to stutter. This was the only warning light that came on at that very moment. Had to have car taken to dealership. No update on the resolution just yet.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus Electric. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an alarm alerted the driver to cease driving the vehicle immediately. The contact stated that shortly after the vehicle lost motive power. The contact would coast the vehicle to the side of the road and shift the vehicle to PARK. The contact would then open then close the vehicle, followed by pressing the start button to regain proper function. The failure occurred several times. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle however, the contact was not completely sure if the battery pack was replaced. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
hello, I have more than a month to review the RECALL that was done on this car but Ford ignores me, I've sent several emails and got in touch but I'm simply ignored by the manufacturer, I can't rent or sell this one car because of the RECALL that was not finalized, so that's why I'm opening this complaint
The SYNC system is malfunctioning. The SYNC system controls radio/media and phone functions in Ford vehicles. It has an A.I. component to it. It will, without warning, stop working and will then begin to make loud booming, screeching and crackling feedback-like noises without warning while driving, which is a danger. The visual screen that displays the SYNC system stops working, and the buttons and A.I. controlling it stop working. The first time it happened was on the interstate and was very unsafe with all the loud random noises. It has been happening off and on for two weeks and I cannot drive my vehicle safely. I am reporting this because have found many others in online forums complaining about the same thing about their SYNC/Ford vehicles and believe it may be a widespread issue with SYNC. I contacted my local Ford dealer, but they did not seem to have a protocol for dealing with this problem, and estimated 500 to 1000 dollars to address it with a several day wait time for repairs.

ALMOST KILLED MYSELF IN THIS CAR!!! 2014 FORD FOCUS.power steering went out while driving.i was making a turn and the steering wheel got stiff and hard..car ran up the sidewalk almost hitting a wall.this car should be banned.FORD MOTOR should be ashamed..I contacted a dealerships because I learned of a recall on Ford focus electrical steering..but was told my car doesn't make the list for recall. cars same model and year qualify but mines doesn't. what sense does that make??!! If u have issues with your power steering in Ford focus why not change them all??!! Sent it to a shop and the quoted price to fix is insane. I have to pay for a faulty electrical power steering pump.and the curb I hit damaged the wheels..OMG this has to be illegal.. never..EVER BUYING A FORD AGAIN AND I WILL NOT LET MY FAMILY MEMBERS BUY EITHER. SHAME ON FORD
The power steering went out. This most likely is related to the known issue like other Ford vehicles with power steering issues or power steering going out while driving.
I received a recall notice from AutoNation Ford Miami but with no description or recall number. I took it to AutoNation Ford Miami for recall service. After my car was inspected I was told no recall service can be performed due to equipment no longer made/available. something about computer transmission system I believe but I'm not sure. I check online through VIN number and now it reflect my car has 0 recalls due to being fixed but nothing was done to fix recall.
Hesitation and jerking at take off from stop light. Engine stalling out when take off from a light. Without warning.
The transmission broke it stared to hard shift had problems down shifting and it would slip made it very hard to drive.
The transmission got it fix the same day i got the car and its still messing up

AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERED THE TRANSMISSION UP TO 96,000 MI BUT NOW IT'S COMPLETELY SCREWED UP AND DOES WON'T FIX IT I WOULD LIKE THEM TO BUYBACK MY POA

NOTHING WAS DONE ON THE TRANSMISSION. I JUST LEARNED FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THIS. I'VE NOT HAD A FUEL GAUGE SINCE MY 4TH WARRANTY REPAIR (TURBO REPLACEMENT TURNED CATASTROPHIC AND INCURRED WARRANTED ENGINE REPLACEMENT AS THEY BLEW IT IN SHOP AND HAD IT FOR ALMOST THREE MONTHS) AND I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL. ON MONDAY MARCH 9TH AROUND 5PM MY CAR HAD STALLED WHILE TAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. IT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TO RE-START WITH KEY FOB. ON MARCH 9TH AT 11:30 PM TURNED OFF VEHICLE TO GO INTO A STORE AND WOULD NOT START FOR OVER 2 HOURS. I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL TO THIS VEHICLE TODAY ON 3/12/2020 I HAD PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 01/06/2020 WITH OUT ANY KNOWLEDGE OF A RECALL. I WANT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT IS UNSAFE.
CAR TRANSMISSION IS BROKEN ON THE INSIDE PER DEALER, THERE ARE ARTICLES EXPLAINING THAT FORD KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT STILL PUT THE CAR OUT FOR PURCHASE. THE HORN STOPPED WORKING APPROX. DECEMBER 17, 2019. VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 155500 MILES. HORN DOES NOT SOUND WHEN VEHICLE IS LOCKED USING KEY FOB. HORN DOES NOT SOUND WHEN CENTER OF STEERING WHEEL IS PRESSED. ONE TRAFFIC INCIDENT ALREADY REQUIRED THE HORN'S USE AND IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I VERIFIED MYSELF THAT THE FUSE WORKS AND ALSO THAT THE RELAY WORKS. I ALSO ACCESSED THE HORN ITSELF AND TAPPED IT WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE. THE HORN IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE ALTHOUGH USED INFREQUENTLY. IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO WEAR AND TEAR AS A WIPER BLADE WOULD BE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK MY CAR TO TITUS WILL TO GET IT DIAGNOSED CAME BACK WITH CODE P0456 PART NUMBER BV67-9D289-B/BV6Z/9D289-R. AFTER DOING SOME INVESTIGATING TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ISSUE MY CAR WAS HAVING. MY CAR WAS IN SHOP IN MAY OF THIS YEAR FOR A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT. AT THE TIME THE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP LET ME KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL AND SAID IT WAS COMPLETED WITH NO FINDINGS AT THE TIME. WELL HERE WE ARE IN NOVEMBER AND MY CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE RECALL PART. THE DEALERSHIP REACHED OUT TO FORD AND REQUESTED A REIMBURSEMENT AND THEY DECLINED STATING ONCE A RECALL IS CLOSED OUT THERE IS NO WAY TO REOPEN AND ISSUE A REFUND. MY CAR WAS STALLING AND HAVING A ROUGH IDLE AND NEEDED TO GET FIXED IMMEDIATELY SO I PAID FOR THE WORK TO GET DONE.
I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE PROLIFERATION OF HIGH INTENSITY HEADLAMPS BOTH AT THE OEM AND THE AFTERMARKET LEVEL. THESE HEADLAMPS ARE BLINDING EVEN ON THE LOW BEAM LEVEL. TYPICALLY IN RURAL AREAS I HAVE TO WEAR SUNGLASSES TO AVOID BECOMING BLINDED BY ONCOMING VEHICLES.
I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THIS CAR BACK IN OVER 7 TIMES NOW AND WILL BE TAKING IT AGAIN IN MONDAY.IT SPUTTERS ON TAKE OFF THIS WEEKEND WAS AWFUL.
RECENTLY MY CAR RADIO HAS BEEN CRACKLING AND THEN COMPLETELY STOPPING ALL MUSIC. THE RADIO SYSTEM WILL BE COMPLETELY OFF AND MAKE AN EXTREMELY LOUD STATIC NOISE AND SCARE ME WHILE I AM DRIVING! THIS IS NOT SAFE AND COULD CAUSE A MASSIVE ACCIDENT OR AN OLDER PERSON TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK. I HAVE A PANIC DISORDER AND IT GAVE ME A PANIC ATTACK WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TAKE MY EMERGENCY PANIC MEDICATION. VOLUME IS COMPLETELY OFF WHEN IT IS HAPPENING AND THE RADIO IS COMPLETELY POWERED OFF. EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WE WALK AWAY FROM IT THE NOISE WILL CONTINUE AND WAKE THE NEIGHBORS UP. WE HAVE COMPLETELY PULLED THE FUSE FROM OUR CAR.
WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE "CLUTCH" ON THE FORD FOCUS WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE LIFE TIME OF OUR CAR DUE TO A SHUTTERING SENSATION WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A COMPLETE STOP. WE ARE NOW ON OUR 3RD REPLACEMENT SINCE 2015. THE LATEST REPAIR WAS ON 9-27-19
RADIO MALFUNCTION. AFTER SOME TIME OF DRIVING, THE RADIO WILL BEGIN TO CRACKLE WHICH LEADS ALMOST UNBEARABLE POPPING WITHIN THE SPEAKERS AND HAS ALSO CAUSED THE RADIO TO STOP WORKING ALTOGETHER BUT STILL MAKES THE POPPING NOISE. POPPING NOISE IS SO LOUD THAT IT HAS FRIGHTENED THE DRIVER SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVER HAS EVEN MADE THE DECISION TO JUST REMOVE THE RADIO FROM THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT BEING FRIGHTENED AND JERKING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAPPENS NEARLY ALL OF THE TIME, WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, WHETHER TURNED OFF OR RUNNING.
WHILE ACCELERATING EITHER UPHILL OR AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO SHAKE. I WAS TOLD TO FIX MY CAMBER AND TOE BARS TO ALLEVIATE THE SHAKING OF THE CAR, MY STRUTS, AND TO REPLACE MY TIRES. NEITHER OF THESE SOLUTIONS HAVE HELPED THIS.
HORNS WERE REPLACED IN 2017 UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER'S SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HORNS. HORNS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY STARTING FIVE MONTHS AGO. HAD CAR IN FOR STATE INSPECTION TWO WEEKS AGO AND THAT DAY THEY WORKED SO CAR PASSED BUT SERVICE WRITER ADVISED THAT HORNS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE PART IS MORE THAN ONE YEAR OLD WHICH IS THE LENGTH OF TIME FORD WARRANTIES THE PART. I HAVE CHECKED ON THE FORD FOCUS FORUM (FOCUS FANATICS.COM) AND MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. A HORN IS NOT A NORMAL "WEAR AND TEAR" PART AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER REFUSED TO EVEN CHECK WITH FORD TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PART EITHER AS A WARRANTY ITEM OR AS A "GOOD WILL" ITEM. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A SUBSTANDARD PART AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.

NOW THIS PROBLEM WAS ORIGINALLY FIXED 3/18/19 . IT IS 8/13/19 THAT I AM BACK AT THE SAME LOCATION FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WHICH INCLUDES LOW FUEL PRESSURE , THE GAS ISN'T GETTING TO THE ENGINE (CENSOR) AND THE CAR STOPS OUT OF NO WHERE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY .
AT A STOP LIGHT JUST BEFORE MY HOUSE MY CAR MADE A NOISE, LURCHED AND THEN DIDNT WANT TO ACCELERATE. IT WAS CLOSE TO HOME SO WE CRAWLED IT HOME THANKFULLY THEN IT REFUSED TO GO IN REVERSE. PREVIOUSLY IT HAD A STUTTER PROBLEM BROUGHT IT TO FORD AND OTHER MECHANICS AND GOT NO ANSWER AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT. CURRENTLY BEING IN MY 9TH MONTH OF PREGNANCY AND HAVING AN 11 MONTH OLD BABY IN THE CAR THESE ISSUES COULDVE CAUSED A CRASH AND PUT THE LIFE OF MY UNBORN CHILD AND MY BABY IN THE BACK IN DANGER. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BEING THAT IT IS THE TCM WHICH IS FAULTY HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE WHOLE PROBLEM. THE TCM CAUSES THE CLUTCH AND CLUTCH FORKS TO GO BAD LEADING TO THESE PROBLEMS AND FORD WANTS OVER $2000 TO FIX IT WHILE THEY ONLY REPLACE THE TCM. FORD PUT OUT THIS CAR KNOWING IT HAD THESE PROBLEMS ON THE PRODUCTION LINE AND DOES NOT PROPERLY INFORM OWNERS THEREFORE CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING.

I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 23 MILES ON IT IN 2014. I ASKED ABOUT THE PRECIOUS FOCUS ISSUES OF ENGINE ISSUES, TRANSMISSION ISSUES, AND THE AIR BAG DEFECT. I WAS TOLD "ALL OF THOSE ISSUES HAVE BEEN FIXED IN THE 2014 MODEL." SHORTLY AFTER MY PURCHASE THE CLUTCH AND TM MODULE WENT OUT. WHEN I QUESTIONED WHY IT NEEDED THIS ALREADY I WAS TOLD "IT IS JUST A SLIGHT ISSUE, BUT THAT 1 REPLACEMENT IS ALL IT WILL NEED." SINCE THIS TIME THE CAR HAS REQUIRED CLUTCH REPLACEMENT 7 TIME AND MODULE REPLACEMENT 3 TIMES. I NOW NEED TO TAKE IT IN FOR THE 8TH CLUTCH, BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT OF THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I PURCHASED THE 2014 FORD FOCUS NEW IN AUGUST 2013. ISSUES BEGAN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY UPON TAKING OWNERSHIP OF VEHICLE. I RECALL AT 6,600 MILES HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND SHUDDERING. FORD TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL IT WOULD EVENTUALLY ADJUST. CAR SHUDDERS AROUND 17 MPH AND ACCERLERATING ONTO ON RAMPS, ETC. THIS CAR IS UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE. I REFRAIN FROM TAKING IT ON ROAD TRIPS EVEN WITHIN WASHINGTON STATE, AVOIDING ISSUES THAT COULD ARISE AT ANYTIME. AT NO TIME DURING THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE DID THE SALESPERSON EXPLAIN WHAT THE DP6 POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION FEATURE WAS . I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED WITH FORD'S UNWILLINGNESS TO RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN AND EXPENSIVE FIX. THIS CAR IS AVERAGING A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMPLY AT 5,000-7,000 MILES. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE AT WHICH POINT THESE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTS COST A MINIMUM OF $1800. I CAN'T AFFORD TO CONTINUE TO HAVE TO PAY THESE REPAIR COSTS. TO DATE, THIS CAR HAS HAD 7 CLUTCH ASSEMBLY & SEAL REPLACEMENTS AND CAR CURRENTLY HAS $55,000. RIDICULOUS. I SPENT OVER $30,000 ON THIS VEHICLE. SEE ATTACHMENT BELOW FOR LIST OF REPAIRS

I SERVICED MY FOCUS ON 5/29/19 FOR RECALLS. THEY PERFORMED A MULTI POINT INSPECTION. EVERYTHING NORMAL. 6/09/19, I WAS DRIVING DOWN CITY STREET 40MPH DRIVING STRAIGHT THE CAR DOWN SHIFTED SUDDENLY AND A WARNING " TRANSMISSION FAULTY, SERVICE NOW" CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME , THE CAR WOULDNT SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR. I ATTACHED BOTH SERVICES DONE . AFTER THE SECOND SERVICE WAS DONE TO MY VEHICAL IT STILL SHUDDERED WHEN ACCELERATING. 6/29/19 THIS OCCURED TWICE THE SAME DAY, I WAS WAITING AT AN INTERSECTION MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A GAS STATION, WHEN IT WAS SAFE TO TURN, I LET MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AND MY CAR INCHED FORWARD WHILE I HIT GAS AND MY CAR DID NOT MOVE, I WAS NEARLY HIT BOTH TIMES , THE LAST SECOND WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR JERKS INTO GEAR. IVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT FIXING THIS ISSUE , IVE LEFT MESSAGES WITH NO CALL BACK, I FINALLY GOT A SERVICE CALL SET BUT NOT UNTIL JULY 30TH. THIS HAS NOW OCCURED ALMOST EVERYDAY SINCE 6/29/19. THE CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS DO THIS , IT SEEMS TO ONLY DO IT IF IM BELOW A HALF A TANK , OR THE FIRST 60 MILES ON A FULL TANK. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY DRIVING THIS CAR THAT WHEN I HIT THE GAS THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV U[ AND NOT MOVE AND GET HIT. WHEN DRIVING AND/OR STATIONARY, THE ACM (AUDIO CONTROL MODULE) WILL CAUSE THE SPEAKERS OR RADIO TO MAKE LOUD AND SOMETIMES UNBEARABLE POPPING, BUZZING OR NO SOUND WILL COME OUT OF THE SPEAKERS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.
I HAD THE RECALL FIXED ON 5/17/2019 AND MY CAR CONTINUES TO STALL. I KEEP MY TANK ABOVE HALF OR FULL AND IT CONTINUES TO STALL WITH EVEN A FULL TANK. MY CAR WAS STALLED ON I 294 IN ILLINOIS ONE OF THE BUSIEST TOLLWAY NEAR THE CHICAGO AIRPORT.
MY REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH STOPPED LATCHING. IT WILL NO LONGER LOCK OR SHUT COMPLETELY. WHEN IT HAPPENED I WAS JUST LOADING MY BAG INTO MY BACKSEAT AND WENT TO SHUT THE DOOR. NOTHING WAS BLOCKING THE DOOR OR LATCH, IT JUST STOPPED WORKING.
RADIO TOTALLY DIED, THEN TIME TO TIME SPEAKERS GIVES OUT LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING SOUNDS OUT OF NO WHERE EVEN WHEN RADIO IS OFF. WHILE DRIVING, THIS STARTLES ME AND COULD DISTRACT ME FROM THE ROADS AND CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS.
IN DECEMBER 2018 I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH AND SUDDENLY MY CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IT WOULD NOT START EITHER UNTIL HOURS LATER. TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AFTER TELLING THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF A FUEL PUMP RECALL. I GOT A LETTER LATER THAT MONTH AFTER MY CAR HAD BEEN TO FORD AND CHECKED OUT, SAYING THE PART WAS RECALLED IN OCTOBER. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED PRIOR AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO STALL ON HIGHWAY. THEN A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. WHENEVER MY FUEL IS KIND OF LOW THE CAR JUST STALLS AND I CAN'T START IT. I WAS ABLE TO GET GAS AND JUMP MY CAR AND GET IT HOME AND HAS BEEN FINE SINCE, BUT I WENT INTO FORD THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD THEM THAT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT BACK IN DECEMBER WHEN THEY 'FIXED' MY VEHICLE THEY ACTUALLY JUST LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WAS FINE, BUT TOLD ME THEY REPLACED/FIXED THE PART. SO THE PART WAS NEVER FIXED OR RESOLVED. NOT TO MENTION I HAVE ONLY HAVE THIS CAR SINCE SEPTEMBER 2017 AND HAVE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED 3 TIMES AND NOW AM FEELING THE SIGNS OF IT FAILING AGAIN FOR THE 4TH TIME. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AND UNPREDICTABLE AND FORD HAS LIED TO ME AND NOT INFORMED ME OF THE DANGERS OF THE VEHICLE I'M PAYING THEM FOR.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD THIS ISSUE WITHIN. THE FIRST TIME WAS TWO-THREE WEEKS AGO. ANOTHER ONE OF MY CAR DOOR'S IS NOT CLOSING OR REMAIN CLOSED. I LEARNED ON THE DOOR AND OPENED UP WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I COULD HAVE DIED. THE LAST TIME I MADE A COMPLAINT, IT WAS THE BACKSEAT RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR. FORD INDICATED THAT THEY ALREADY PREFORMED THE RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE AND WANTED ME TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE SO I DID. NOW A FEW WEEKS LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IT WON'T CLOSE AND DOES NOT STAY SHUT ESPECIAL WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE TO USE BUNGEE CORDS TO KEEP IT CLOSED. I'M TAKING IT BACK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THOUGH BECAUSE THE RECALL INDICATES THEY ALREADY FIXED BACK IN 2017. WELL APPARENTLY THEY DIDN'T FIX THIS ISSUE CORRECTLY. EVEN THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER DISCLOSED TO ME THAT THE RECALL ONLY FIXED A SMALL PART OF THE DOOR LATCH AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIX WHOLE ASSEMBLEY. THE RECALL ONLINE INDICATES HOWEVER, THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL PAY FOR THIS FREE OF CHARGE. I ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I DRIVE FOR UBER WITH MY VEHICLE AND IF THIS ISSUE PERSISTS, SOMEBODY COULD GET SEVERELY INJURED AND TURN INTO A LAW SUIT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE PROPERLY BEFORE THIS BECOMES A LAWSUIT OR SOMEONE ENDS UP IN THE HOSPITAL.
DOOR LOCK LATCH OPENING UP WHILE DRIVING. AS I WAS DRIVING ONE EVENING FROM THE GAS STATION, THE RIGHT SIDE BACK SEAT DOOR OPENED UP. THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN AS I MADE A TURN ABOUT LEAVE THE GAS STATION I WAS AT. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND LOOKED TO SEE IF SOMETHING WAS IN THE WAY AND PROCEEDED TO CLOSE IT. HOWEVER, THE DOOR WOULD BOUNCE BACK AND NOT SHUT EVEN AFTER SEVERAL TIMES. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OF THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BACK IN 2016 REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM. AS BAD IS THE ISSUE WAS,I HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR HOME THAT NIGHT WITH IT SWINGING OPEN EVERY TIME I TURNED CORNERS. SINCE IT WAS NIGHT, I HAD TO USE BUNGEE CORDS AND TAPE TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. I ALSO RAN THE RISK OF SOMEONE BEING ABLE TO EASILY ACCESS MY CAR OVER NIGHT. THE RECALL SAYS THAT DEALERSHIP IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE FREE OF CHARGE BY BRINGING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX THIS SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE FREE OF CHARGE. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE FOR THEM TO FIX IT AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THAT. I FOR ONE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE CONSIDERING IT WAS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL. I AM ALSO UPSET THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2016 AND THEY DEALERSHIP IS NOT HONORING REPAIRING THIS DESPITE THAT. I AM WANTING THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THIS FREE OF CHARGE OR REIMBURSE LATER FOR WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME NOW.
FORD FOCUS SYNC SYSTEM.THERE IS AN EXTREMELY LOUD POPPING NOISE THAT SPONTANEOUSLY SOUND THROUGH THE SPEAKER EVEN IF THE RADIO IS OFF. IT IS DEAFENING AND EXTREMELY STARTLING TO THE DRIVER AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS. MY 2 YEAR OLD CRIES AND COVERS HIS EARS, SO MUCH THAT HE HAS TO WEAR HEARING PROTECTION ON OUR 45 MINUTE COMMUTE BACK HOME. IT'LL EVEN MAKE THE SOUND AFTER I HAVE SHUT THE CAR OFF. ONCE OFF, OPENING THE DOOR IS THE ONLY WAY THAT IT STOPS. THIS IS THE FORD SYNC MEDIA SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY FORD THAT I NEED TOP REPLACE THE SYNC SYSTEM BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. MIGHT I AFF THATY THE ARE COUNTLESS OTHERS OUT THERE THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SYNC SYSTEM AS I AM. THE RADIO ON MY CAR KEEPS FAILING. THE SPEAKERS POP LOUDLY ALL THE TIME EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS NOT IN MOTION. THE RADIO IS OFF AND THE SPEAKERS START POPPING LOUDLY. THIS HAPPENED ONCE A MONTH AND NOW MY RADIO DOES NOT WORK

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN SUDDENLY THE BACKSEAT DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED. THERE WAS A PASSENGER THAT WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT AFTER THE EVENT BUT LUCKILY NOBODY WAS HURT. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL WITH THAT ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE PREMIUM CARE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE BUT I WAS TOLD THAT IT DOES NOT COVER A BROKEN DOOR LATCH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE ON FIXING IT
AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN FIRST GEAR BECAUSE IT'S A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND MOVING FORWARD. MY CAR ISNOT LOCKING AND I GO SOMETIMES UPWARDS OF 100 FEET OR MORE BEFORE IT SHOWS THAT THE CAR IS LOCKED. BUT I AM NOT HEARING THE CAR LOCK LIKE IT SHOULD. IT DOES THE SAME THING IN REVERSE.
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM EVER SINCE OWNERSHIP. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THIS VEHICLE HAS ALMOST GOT MY DAUGHTER SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ROAD THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS OFF AND LOSES ALL FUNCTIONS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. DRIVERS BEHIND HER HAVE ALMOST HIT HER FROM BEHIND BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. BESIDES THIS THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THIS VEHICLE IS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MORE THAN IT IS DRIVEN. THIS IS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN.
MY CAR ACTUALLY STOPPED ON ME ON SUNDAY MAY 13, 2018 OFF I-35 ON FREEWAY. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW IN THE CAR AND I BEGIN TO FEEL THE CAR JUST SLOW DOWN. IT WAS FRIGHTENING BECAUSE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND WITH NO WARNING, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN TO "TURTLES PACE" AND I TRIED TO EXCELERATE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. HAD TO IMMEDIATELY GET IN LANE TO GET CAR OFF THE FREEWAY. IT STALLED OUT. WE HAD TO WAIT FOR HOURS IN THE DARK UNTIL MY SON CAME TO PICK US UP. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CAR REPAIR AND HE TOLD ME HE COULD NOT FIX IT BECAUSE OF RECALL. I HAD TO PAY THE CAR REPAIR FOR THE PART HE ORDERED THAT HE WAS NOT ABLE TO USE. I THEN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AUTO NATION FORD IN ARLINGTON, TX AND THEY CHARGED ME TO FIX THE CAR AND DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE RECALL. I FELT LIKE AUTO NATION FORD DID NOT EVEN TRY TO SEE ANYTHING AS A RECALL THEY JUST WANTED THERE MONEY. MY CAR STILL HESITATES AND I AM REALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BUT HAVE NO CHOSE
GAS TANK NECK WILL NOT ALLOW GAS TO ENTER TANK. TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT PUMPS AND STILL COULD NOT FILL TANK. GAS KEEPS BACKING OUT.
WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN MANY TIMES FOR SHAKING AND VIBRATING THAT OCCUR AT ABOUT 1.75 RPM. THE VEHICLE FEELS AS IF IT IS SHAKING SO HARD THAT YOU LET OFF THE GAS AND ATTEMPT TO GAIN SPEED AGAIN BUT SLOWER. THIS DOES NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED, THE TRANSMISSION WAS TAKEN APART AND CHECKED AND THE VEHICLE STILL DOES THIS TO THE EXTENT THAT I USE A SECOND VEHICLE PURCHASED AND HAVE ONLY PUT 30,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE IN 5 YEARS.

RADIO ON, DASHBOARD LIGHTS PRESENT AND THEN CUT OFF, ALERT FOR MY LOW TIRE, TRIP TIMER BEGAN RUNNING. THEN AN ERROR CODE REGARDING SOMETHING IN THE LINES OF FUEL. WASN'T QUICK ENOUGH TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE ERROR MESSAGE. WHEN I REMOVED MY KEY AND CALLED MY SISTER TO INFORM HER THAT I MAY NEED A RIDE FOR MYSELF AND MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, THE DASHBOARD NEEDLES JUMPED VIGOROUSLY. WHILE SITTING. IN THE VEHICLE AGAIN, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OPENED UP AND MY TRIP TIMER BEGAN RUNNING AND THE RADIO. AGAIN WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION, THEY WERE IN MY LAP. THE ENTIRE NIGHT WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PERIODICALLY MY CAR WOULD CUT IN AND OFF, AND ENGAGE WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION NOR PRESENT NEAR HE CAR. CONSEQUENTLY, THE CONSTANT RUNNING OF THE VEHICLE BY IT SELF RAN THE BATTERY DEAD AS WELL. ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND CHECK SERVICE AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY RUDE AND CONTINUOUSLY INTERRUPTED ME. WHEN QUESTIONING REGARDING AND OPEN RECALL, 18S32, AND MENTIONING THAT NOT ONLY DID I CALL THE NTHSA NUMBER BUT I ALSO READ THE RECALL REGARDING MY VEHICLE SERVICEMAN BECAME EVEN MORE RUDE AND EVEN DISCONNECTED THE CALL.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION FOR AWHILE. THEN WHEN TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS WE WERE DRIVING ON CRUSE CONTROL WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE RMP'S JUMPED UP TO 5000+ I HAD TO GET THE CAR OFF OF CRUSE CONTROL AND TRY AND HELP IT TO STICK BACK INTO GEAR. I NOW HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE PENSKE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION, BUT WHEN DOING THE DIAGNOSTIC ON IN THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODUAL WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRENTY BUT THE CLUTCH ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THAT WASNT UNDER THE WARRENTY. BUT THERE IS A RECALL ON MY TRANSMISSION! AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY 2K+ TO GET MY CLUTCH FIXED, WHEN MY CLUTCH IS A PART OF MY TRANSMISSION. I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE IS MANY LAWSUITS ABOUT THIS, AND I HOPE I DONT HAVE TO DO THAT.
BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2018, BY MAY 2018, CAR HAD TROUBLE WITH STAYING STARTED AFTER I STARTED IT. IT WOULD SHUT OFF BEFORE REACHING THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. BUT ONCE IT WAS JUMPED IT WOULD START BACK UP AND DRIVE AGAIN FOR A BIT. BY AUGUST, IT WAS HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THEN IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. COULDN'T JUMP IT, REPLACED THE BATTERY, IT DIDN'T HELP, TOOK IT UP TO THE DEALER, THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL CAR SHOP, IT WAS THERE FROM AUGUST TIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, STILL HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED BUT IT IS CURRENTLY DRIVING ALTHOUGH IT IS HAVING ISSUES AS WELL. DASH WILL GO BLACK, WHEN IDLING IT SHUTTERS, NO SCREEN UNTIL IT'S ACTUALLY STARTED. REAR VIEW CAMERA HAD QUIT THEN STARTED TO WORK AGAIN.

GAUGE FOR ENGINE TEMP SHOWED MID RANGE. CHECK OF ANTIFREEZE SHOWED ADIQUITE LEVEL. WHEN CAR WAS IN MOTION THE TEMP WAS COOLER BUT STILL WARMER THAN IT SHOULD BE.

USUALLY THE CAR BECOMES UNSTABLE/JERKY WHEN DRIVING WHICH SIGNALLED A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT. HOWEVER OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS AFTER TWO MORE CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS THE TRANSMISSION/ENGINE CEASED WHILE DRIVING IN TOWSON MD INNER CITY STREETS. THE FIRST BEING EXACTLY OVER TWO WEEKS AGO AND WHICH A NEW CLUTCH WAS INSTALLED. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AND TWO DAYS LATER CALLED THE DELEARSHIP STATING IT IS STILL NOT DRIVING RIGHT. I COULD FEEL SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I NOTICED SUDDEN JERKS AND WHAT SEEMED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS WEARING OFF AGAIN. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE PERSON MIKE MAZOR THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND THE ADAPTIVE SYSTEMS WILL HAVE TO GET USED TO MY DRIVING PATTERN AND TO GIVE IT 1000 MILES. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE ROUTE 40, THE CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED, MADE A LOUD ROARING SOUND AND WHEN I PUSHED ON THE PEDAL IT SEEMED AS IF IT WAS ON NEUTRAL AND DID NOT WANT TO MOVE. ALL I HEARD WAS THE ENGINE RERVE. EXTREMELY PANICKED AND SCARED I QUICKLY MOVED OVER TO THE YELLOW LINE WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR INJURING MYSELF. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DELEARSHIP CLOSEBY AS I FELT VERY UNSAFE DRIVING ANY FURTHER. I WAS INFORMED TODAY BY ALPACKER FORD THAT THEY WORKED ON THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NO LONGER ON, THE CAR RUNS JUST FINE. THEY WILL BE DOING ONE MORE TEST TOMORROW TO SEE IF THEY CAN REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I'M TOTALLY BAFFLED AS TO HOW THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED OFF OR WHY THEY CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE. WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATION FROM FIRST TO SECOND AND SOMETIMES SECOND TO THIRD THE CAR SHAKES VERY VERY BADLY AND MAKES IT HARD TO ACCELERATE.

WHEN ACCELERATING IT FEELS LIKE THE CLUTCH IS NOT ENGAGING. THE CAR RATTLES AND JERKS DESPITE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR OF THE TRANSMISSION AND RECENT REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION MODULATOR SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE I GOT THE CAR, BUT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OR RUIN THE TRANSMISSION.
FOR THE PAST YEAR, MY FOCUS HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CLUTCH, AND IN THE PAST IT HAS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I NEVER GOT A LETTER OR CALL FOR THIS RECALL. RECENTLY ON FEB. 19TH I WENT TO FUTURE FORD IN AUBURN, CA TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID FORD WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THEY SAID THEY CAN'T HELP FINANCIALLY AND THEREFORE I HAVE TO PAY THE $3000 TO FIX SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN UNDER MY ADMINISTRATION. I HAVE THE EMAIL THEY SENT ME SAYING THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP OUT. AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY WON'T HELP OUT AS IT CAUSES MY CAR TO STALL AND HESITATE WHEN EVER I NEED TO ACCELERATE AFTER I STOP. NOT ONLY THAT, I WENT IN A FEW YEARS AGO HAVING TO FIX ANOTHER PART OF THE CAR, AND IF FORD KNEW THAT THEY HAD A RECALL FOR THIS, WHY DIDN'T THE FIX IT AT THE TIME.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND JERKING WHILE I DRIVE. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. BUT TRANSMISSION STILL ACTED THE SAME. NOW FORD WON'T AGREE TO FIX IT. TRANSMISSION IS UNDER RECALL #14M02 FOR TCM NOT THE CLUTCH AND FORD TELL ME I HAVE TO FIX CLUTCH. WHEN THEY REPLACED CLUTCH BEFORE THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET IT BROKE IN TO THE WAY I DRIVE AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR 150,000 MILES . WELL I WAITED COUPLE OF MONTHS AND TOOK IT BACK. FORD SAID IT WAS PAST 30 DAY WARRANTY AND I HAD TO PAY TO FIX IT. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING CLUTCH SINCE IT NEVER DROVE ANY DIFFERENT AFTER THEY REPLACED CLUTCH. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS A RECALL, SO THEY RESET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, SAID IT WOULD TAKE 1,000 MILES TO RELEARN MY DRIVING. AFTER THE 1,000 MILES, IT WENT BACK TO THE SHAKING, VIBRATING & HESITATING. 2ND TIME BRINGING IT IN, I HAD THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT RIDE WITH ME & HE FELT THE SHAKING, SO, AGAIN, THEY RESET THE SYSTEM AGAIN, GAVE ME THE INFO ABOUT WAITING 1,000 MILES TO RESET. AFTER THE 1,000 MILES, IT AGAIN, BEGAN SHAKING, VIBRATING & HESITATING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE SERVICE MANAGER GAVE ME HIS CARD & SAID IF I HAD ANY PROBLEMS, GIVE HIM A CALL. 3RD TIME BRINGING IT IN, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD A MECHANIC RIDE WITH ME. SAID HE FELT THE VIBRATIONS, SHAKING, HESITATION. WHILE AT THE SERVICE DESK, HE THEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME THAT THE PROGRAM RELEARNS BAD BEHAVIORS INSTEAD OF THE GOOD ONES. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER IF I'M A GOOD OR BAD DRIVER, THE CAR SHOULD RUN PROPERLY. AND NOW (3/21/16), I HAVE FELT THE WORST SHAKING, VIBRATING & HESITATION EVER. I FELT INCREDIBLY UNSAFE TODAY. PLUS I HAD A PASSENGER IN MY CAR THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME. I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE CAN GET RESOLVED BEFORE SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENS.
THE TRANSMISSION IS CONSTANTLY SLIPPING AND MAKING THE CAR SHUTTER AND JERK WHEN ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY AT TIMES OR WILL JERK FORWARD SUDDENLY. WHEN IN DRIVE THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL BACK SLIGHTLY IF ON A SMALL SLOPE OR HILL. IT IS NOT SAFE. I WILL HAVE THIS VEHICLE FOR TWO YEARS THIS MONTH AND IT WILL ALSO BE THE 5TH TIME I'VE HAD TO TAKE IT IN. THE LAST TIME THEY REPLACED MY WHOLE CLUTCH AND HERE I AM 6 MONTHS LATER HAVING TO TAKE IT IN TO THE SHOP AGAIN. THEY KEEP SAYING THAT IT'S "NORMAL". I HONESTY SEE NOTHING NORMAL OR SAFE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE.

THE POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION JERKS AND JOLTS, ESPECIALLY AT TAKE OFF. I DRIVE LOCALLY 95% OF THE TIME AND THIS IS EXACERBATING MY CURRENT MEDICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY NECK, HEAD, BACK AND HIP. I SEE NOW THAT FORD WITHHELD THIS INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT THEY CALLED THEIR NEW AND BETTER TRANSMISSION. HAD THEY TOLD US IT DOES THIS, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT. I KNEW THE DAY AFTER WE GOT IT AND I WAS HURTING BAD, AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THIS CAR WAS HURTING ME. I TOOK IT TO THEM IN AUGUST AND THEY ACTED LIKE THEY KNEW NOTHING. WHEN I PICKED IT UP TWO DAYS LATER, THEY SAID THEY MADE A SOFTWARE ADJUSTMENT TO MAKE IT MORE COMFORTABLE FOR ME. THAT LASTED FOR A DAY AND A HALF AND DROPPED THE GAS MILEAGE TO 17MPG IN TOWN WHEN IT HAD BEEN GETTING 25.6MPG. AFTER THE DAY AND A HALF, THE AGGRESSIVE JERKING RETURNED AND GAS MILEAGE WENT BACK UP. ALSO, WHEN I PICKED IT UP, THEY THEN ACTED LIKE THEY KNEW ABOUT IT AND PROVIDED ME WITH A TWO PAGE PRINT OUT OF THAT TRANSMISSION AND HOW IT WORKS, AND THEY CLAIM THIS IS NORMAL. THEY ALSO SAID THE SALESPEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION, YET WE WERE TOLD NOTHING AND IT DIDN'T DO IT ON THE TEST DRIVE. IF THE CAR SITS, IT WON'T DO IT AT TAKE OFF, BUT THE MORE YOU DRIVE IT, THE MORE IT DOES IT AND IT IS NOT OCCASIONAL OR SLIGHT. IT ACTS LIKE IT WON'T EVEN GO SOMETIMES AT A GREEN LIGHT OR LOSES POWER SIGNIFICANTLY. THAT'S HOW IT FEELS TO ME BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT REALLY IS. I MENTIONED IT TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND IT WAS A SIMPLE "COMPUTER PROBLEM" THAT COULD BE FIXED QUICKLY. HE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR IT, REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THE SAME. THE CAR HAS A BIG PROBLEM CHANGING GEARS, THAT IS NOT SAFE AND THERE IS A LOT OF COMPLAINS ABOUT THAT ON THE INTERNET. I COMPLAINED WITH FORD AND THEIR FINAL ANSWER WAS: FURTHERMORE, I HAVE REVIEWED IF THERE ARE ANY WARRANTIES ON THE VEHICLE AND I AM NOT SEEING ANY. HE SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 MONTHS TO GET THE PART AS THE CLUTCH IS ON BACK ORDER DUE TO SO MANY CARS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I ASKED WHY I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS DEFECT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. WHY DIDN'T DEALER FIX IT BEFORE SELLING IT. THE PROBLEM HAS ESCALATED AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE AROUND WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM BEING STOPPED AT A LIGHT TO COMPLETE A LEFT TURN THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATOR AND BEGAN TO SHUTTER EVEN THOUGH I WAS PRESSING THE GAS THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. FORD FOCUS ST '14 : ON STARTUP THE ENGINE REVS TO 1500 THEN DOWN TO <500RPM AND ALMOST STALLS. IN ADDITION, SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING, IF THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED THE ENGINE REVS WILL RAPIDLY DECREASE TO THIS NEAR STALL POINT CAUSING LOTS OF ENGINE SHUTTER.
