This is the second failure of the door latch we’ve had. 1st time was drivers door. Today was passenger door. Ford dealers refuse to fix it. Carthage ford sold me the parts and I paid my mechanical c to fix the drivers door. $200 for the door latches $200 to install. Now I have to do the passenger door. I was under the impression this should be free as it’s a recall I’ve contacted ford corporate and didn’t get anywhere with them either. They were supposed to get something set up with a local dealer but never heard back from them. This is a huge safety issue. Please help me either getting reimbursed for the earlier repairs and parts and maybe getting the others fixed or at least pay the bill if I have to get them done
I TOOK MY FORD FOCUS 2013 INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 2020. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCHES 20S30 CODE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY TOOK CARE OF IT. I JUST CHECKED ONLINE AND ITS HASNT BEEN FIXED. ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND WEVE BEEN DRIVING IT WITH A NEWBORN BABY NOT KNOWING THAT THEY HAVENT FIXED THE RECALL.

SAME ISSUE WITH PREVIOUS DOOR LATCH RECALL, IT IS BROKEN AGAIN AND SINCE IT HAS ALREADY "BEEN REPAIRED" THEY WILL NOT FIX IT AGAIN. DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR WILL GET STUCK IN A LOCKED POSITION AND WILL NOT CLOSE.
I OWN A 2013 FORD FOCUS THAT IS EXPERIENCING DOOR LATCH FAILURES. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THEIR IS A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FORD FOCUS DOOR LATCHES BUT BASED THE VIN FOR MY VEHICLE MY VEHICLE IS APPARENTLY NOT COVERED. (SAFETY RECALL 16S30) THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH. THE LATCH OPENED BUT THEN WOULD NO LONGER ENGAGE TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. I TRIED TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY BUT THEY JUST STATE THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT COVERED.
2013 FORD FOCUS JERKS WHILE ACCELERATING, WAS TOLD RECALL WAS FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY VIA KINDLE FORD. ALSO THE TRUNK NO LONGER OPENS, BUT BEEPS WHEN CAR IS ON SAYING THE TRUNK IS OPEN. WAS TOLD THIS WAS A RECALL IN 2017 THAT WAS FIXED BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BUT NOW IT'S UP TO US TO PAY FOR IT.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WON'T LATCH AND EVEN CAME OPEN WHILE DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT LEASES A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE HATCHBACK INDEPENDENTLY OPENED AND THE TRUNK AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WILD WEST CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 750 W GOLDFIELD AVE, YERINGTON, NV 89447)TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CODE WAS ERASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THEY CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WERE INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE. THE STORE REPRESENTATIVE FOUND THE TRANSMISSION FRICTION ELEMENT STOCK A FAILURE CODE. THE CODE WAS CLEARED. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL , NOTICE# 16S30/NHTSA RECALL 16V-643 MAY, 2017 AND IN DOING SO I NOTIFIED THE VICKSBURG FORD DEALERSHIP HERE AND SCHEDULED A APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY VEHICLE CHECKED, AND THE PART MADE IT HERE TUESDAY 5/30/17) AND IT WAS REPAIRED I WAS TOLD. NOW YESTERDAY AS I TRIED TO CLOSE MY DOOR IT WOULD NOT LATCH SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD CO TO HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL EXISTS. OF COURSE NOT IT WAS IN 2017 THAT I CAME OUT AND IT WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN REPAIRED, BUT THE PROBLEM IS IT HAS HAPPENED NOW. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR OUT THERE AT THE TIME I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING WHAT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO, NOW THE WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THE SERVICEMAN TOLD ME , HE DID NOT THINK FORD WOULD PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT IS NOT ON NOTICE AT THIS TIME. THEY WANT ME TO PAY $197.50 PLUS TAX AND $110.00 LABOR CHARGE. I DONOT FEEL THAT THIS IS RIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WAS PAID FOR DOING THE JOB IN MAY, 2017 EVENTHOUGH AT THE TIME I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME, AND IT IS HAPENING NOW THEY NEED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT RIDE AROUND WITH A DOOR THE IS NOT SHUT PROPERLY. NOW I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND MY RECEIPT FOR THE REPAIR, AND THEY DO HAVE A RECORD OF IT BECAUSE THE SECRETARY TOOK A FORLDER WITH THE SERVICE TICKET BACK IN THE BACK TO THE SERVICEMAN BUT HE ACTED LIKE THAT WAS NOT THE RECALL TICKET. I AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR MY RECEIPT BUT IN THE MEANTIME I NEED TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I DONOT FEEL THAT THEY NEEDS TO BE PAID TWICE WHEN THE PROBLEM IS OBVIOUS TODAY. IT WAS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FEDERAL LAW AND I AM ENTITLED TO THAT SAFEY RECALL ACT. LUCKILY I HAD JUST MADE IT TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT, I HAVE ONLY THE ONE VEHICLE AND IT IS DRIVEN EVERYDAY TO WORK, ERRANDS. NOT GOOD. THX YOU. .

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.

MY DOOR FLEW OPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND I HAD TO PAY QUITE A BIT TO GET IT FIXED NOT TO MENTION IT WAS A PRETTY SCARY EXPERIENCE. SINCE I'M SEEING THIS ISSUE WAS A RECALLED PART, I'D LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED. HOW DO I GO ABOUT THAT?

AFTER THE CONTACT CLOSED THE TRUNK, A MESSAGE APPEARED INDICATING THAT THE TRUNK WAS STILL OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL KAY FORD (14633 S CICERO AVE, MIDLOTHIAN, IL 60445) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH ON THE TRUNK NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TAILGATE HATCH HAS OPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD FOR 16C13 TAILGATE RELEASE SOFTWARE UPDATE TO BOBY CONTROL MODULE, MADE APPT AND TOOK CAR IN ON OCT. 4, 2017 TO FREMONT FORD FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL AND ALSO 16S30 SIDE DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT, THEY ONLY PERFORMED THE 16S30 RECALL BUT NOT THE 16C13 TAILGATE SOFTWARE, SAID IT WAS ALREADY UP TO DATE. TAILGATE HAS OPENED UNEXPECTEDLY TWICE SINCE THEN. NEED TO CLARIFY IF SAFETY RECALL 16C13 APPLIES TO MY VEHICLE, AND WHY WAS FREMONT FORD UNABLE TO APPLY SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE 16C13 SAFETY RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
AFTER TAKING MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY TRANSMISSION TROUBLE SHOOTED. THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO REPAIR THE JERKING THE TRANSMISSION DOES DURING THE COURSE OF OPERATION. ALSO I WAS TOLD I HAVE A RECALL ON LATCHES THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR TO PREFORM THE RECALL.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVER'S DOOR WON'T LATCH. USED THE CAR NORMALLY THE PREVIOUS DAY. CAR PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, AND WHEN I GOT IN TO DRIVE, THE DOOR WOULDN'T SHUT, WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE.
AS I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND BEGAN DRIVING UP THE STREET, I REALIZED MY DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT ALL THE WAY, AND THE DASH SAID "DOOR AJAR." OF COURSE I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE CAR AND CAN'T DRIVE IT NOW. I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. AFTER RESEARCHING POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS ON THE INTERNET, I SEE THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH MANY OTHER DRIVER DOORS NOT LATCHING IN 2013 FORD FOCUSES.

THIS RECALL BEGAN IN AUGUST AND STILL HAS NOT BEE REMEDIED. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BUY A NEW CAR AND WERE TOLD THE CAR IS UNSALABLE UNTIL THIS RECALL IS SATISFIED. WE NO LONGER HAVE A WARRANTY ON THE CAR AND EVERY DAY WE DRIVE IT WILL CAUSE A LOSS TO THE CURRENT VALUE AND THE RISK OF REPAIRS. THERE IS NO SATISFACTORY TIMEFRAME FOR THIS RECALL TO BE REMEDIED. AS I WAS DRIVING THIS MORNING MY DOOR FLEW OPEN AND WOULD NOT SHUT BACK CLOSED, I CHECKED THE LATCH AND SURE ENOUGH IT WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSE NOR LOCK, I HAD TO TIE MY DOOR SHUT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR FOR IT TO REMAIN SHUT, THANKFULLY A CAR DID NOT HIT MY DOOR WHEN IT FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING,THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME AN MY KIDS! I DID A COMPLAINT BEFORE ON MY DOOR LATCH DRIVER SIDE MALFUNCTIONED AND WON'T STAY CLOSED. I AM DOING ANOTHER COMPLAINT BECAUSE NOW THE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH HAS MALFUNCTIONED. PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR OPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS UNDERWAY AND LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY. WILL NOT CLOSE OR LATCH. LATCH MOVES SMOOTHLY BY HAND, BUT DOES DOT CATCH AND LATCH AGAINST FRAME MOUNTED PIECE, NOR DOES IT MOVE WHEN DOOR HANDLE IS OPERATED.
MY WIFE AND I WERE OUT FOR THE DAY, STOPPED TO HAVE LUNCH. WHEN SHE GOT OUT AND SHUT THE DOOR IT WOULD NOT LATCH, THE LATCH HAD BROKEN INSIDE AND WOULDN'T STAY SHUT. DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR LATCH FAILED, CAUSING DOOR TO NOT STAY CLOSED. FULL RANGE OF MOTION OF DOOR IS NOT HAMPERED; DOOR CAN BE CLOSED FULLY, HOWEVER DOOR OPENS WITH NO EFFORT, EVEN WHEN LOCK IS ENABLED.
I PARKED THE CAR AND REMOVED SOME BELONGINGS FROM THE BACK SEAT, TRIED TO SHUT THE DOOR AND LOCK THE CAR WHEN I NOTICED THE CAR WAS NOT LOCKING DUE A DOOR BEING AJAR. THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT, I TRIED TO MANUALLY ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE THE CHILD LOCK IN ADDITION TO LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE DOOR WAS BEING HELD SHUT AND ALSO OPEN. THE DOOR HAS TO BE HELD SHUT WITH A ROPE TIED TO THE HEADREST. THE RECALL THAT FORD HAS OUT ABOUT THE BACK DOOR LATCH DOES NOT INVOLVE MY VIN SO I CAN'T GET AN ANSWER ABOUT IT FROM THEM.

DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY BROKE AND WILL NOT LATCH OR ENGAGE TO KEEP DOOR CLOSED. WAS STATIONARY SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT FOR APPROXIMATELY 9 HOURS. TEMP OUTSIDE THAT DAY WAS 99 F. OPENED THE DOOR TO PLACE MY WORK BAG IN BACK SEAT AND DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE (OR LATCH) AFTER. ACTIVE RECALL FOR THE SAME TYPE OF CAR DESCRIBING SAME PROBLEM, HOWEVER MY CAR IS NOT INVOLVED YET.

THE DRIVER DOOR WON'T STAY CLOSED. I HAVE TO HOLD THE CAR SHUT WHILE DRIVING AND IT'S VERY UNSAFE. I WAS TOLD BY YUCCA VALLEY FORD THE REPAIR IS AROUND 500$. THIS CAR IS STILL NEW AND SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS SAFETY CONCERN AT THIS TIME.
THE DOOR LATCH SYSTEM WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPH AND MADE A TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT AND MY VEHICLE DOOR FLEW OPEN ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I KNOW THAT THIS ISSUE IS EFFECTING OTHER FORD VEHICLES BUT THE DEALERSHIP WILL ONLY REPAIR THIS IF I PAY OUT OF POCKET. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE SAFETY FACTOR OF DOOR NOT LATCHING.
THE DRIVER DOOR OPENED WHEN THE LATCH FAILED. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LATCHES FAILING. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED I UNLOCKED WITH ELECTRONIC KEY AND THE DOOR THEN FAILED TO LATCH SHUT
AFTER ENTERING CAR, THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. THERE WAS NO PRIOR INDICATION OF ANY MALFUNCTION WITH THE DOOR LATCH. DRIVER DOOR REQUIRED TO BE BUNGEE CORDED IN ORDER TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED BY FORD AT A COST ON $697.00 TO OWNER.
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN... CANTON, TEXAS. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH FAILED AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN WHEN TURNING RIGHT. MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER WAS SITTING NEXT TO THE DOOR, IN A SEAT-BELT THANK GOD. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. IT WOULD NOT CATCH ON THE STRIKER. USING A SCREWDRIVER, I FOUND THE LATCH HAD NO TENSION ON IT AND WOULD NOT HOLD THE THE DOOR STRIKER. I PUT MY MOTHER IN THE FRONT SEAT AND HAD MY SON HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED FOR THE 15 MILE TRIP HOME. I CALLED 3 FORD DEALERS TO FIND THE PART IS ON BACK-ORDER. THE PRICE IS A WHOPPING $273 + TAX + ANOTHER $100 TO PUT IT IN. HAD MY MOTHER NOT BEEN BELTED IN, THIS COULD HAVE KILLED HER. A LIGHT CAME ON WHILE WE WERE DRIVING SAYING THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN. SINCE WE WERE COMING TO A STOP, IT THANKFULLY DID NOT FLY OPEN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT IT EASILY COULD HAVE. I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE IT REPEATEDLY AND IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I WAS FORCED TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED UNTIL WE COULD PULL OVER. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, WE REALIZED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS ACTUALLY BROKEN AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. DESPITE THERE BEING RECALLS ON SEVERAL FORD VEHICLES FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM, FORD IS REFUSING TO RECALL THE FOCUS (THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME THAT IT HAD NEVER HAPPENED TO THE 2013 MODEL BEFORE.
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT IN AND CLOSED THE DOOR. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG. DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND COULD NOT CLOSE THE DOOR AS WELL AS DOOR AJAR SIGNAL BEEPING. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WITH ONE ARM AND DRIVE WITH THE OTHER, VERY UNSAFE AND SCARY. I NORMALLY DRIVE A HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK, BUT I HAPPENED TO BE IN MY TOWN WHEN IT OCCURRED AND STILL DRIVING 35-45 KEPT OPENING MY DOOR AND OBVIOUSLY ANY LEFT TURN, WHICH I MADE 3 OF, CAUSED THE DOOR TO OPEN.
REAR DRIVER'S SIDE FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO TIE IT DOWN TO STAY CLOSED. TWO DAYS LATER, THE REAR SIDE PASSENGER DOOR CAME OPEN AND WILL NOT CLOSE. HAVE TO TIE THIS DOOR TO STAY CLOSED AS WELL. THE INDICATOR LIGHT KEEPS GOING OFF, STATING THE DOORS ARE OPEN.
THIS PAST MONDAY, JULY 4TH, I ARRIVED HOME FROM HOUSE SITTING AND UNLOADED THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR. I CLOSED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, LOCKED THE CAR AND TURNED THE ALARM ON. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR 1/2 HOUR LATER TO RUN AN ERRAND AND I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO DRIVE. A MESSAGE CAME ACROSS MY DASHBOARD THAT SAID "PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS AJAR". I STOPPED THE CAR AND GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE DOOR AND CLOSE IT AND IT WOULDN'T CLOSE. I TRIED MANY TIMES TO CLOSE THE DOOR AND IT WOULD JUST OPEN BACK UP AGAIN. THE DOOR ISN'T LATCHING AND CLOSING ALL THE WAY. I TRIED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOORS MANY TIMES AND IT STILL WILL NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY AND LATCH AND LOCK. I RESEARCHED ONLINE FOR ANY INFORMATION AND FOUND THAT SOME FORD FOCUS' FROM 2013 HAVE A RECALL AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP HOPING TO GET IT FIXED. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND IT WILL COST ME ALMOST $600 TO FIX IT. THE DOOR IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD CLOSED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT, BUT WILL STILL OPEN A FEW INCHES WHILE TURNING CORNERS BECAUSE THE SEATBELT IS NOT COMPLETELY SECURE. I THINK THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE PART OF THE RECALL AND BE CORRECTED AND FIXED BY FORD.

APPARENTLY THE IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SO FAR NO RECALL FORD HAS OTHER MODELS WHICH USE TEH SAME PART NUMBER THAT HAVE A RECALL IF THOSE EXACT PARTS ARE COVERED WHY NOT THESE?
FRONT DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE. IT SEEMS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LATCH. IT DOES NOT LATCH CLOSE. THE DOOR WILL OPEN FREELY.
I DROVE THE CAR AS USUAL TO WORK AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I HAD A CHEK UP APPOINTMENT TO GO TO AND I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE WORK. WHEN I WAS LEAVING I NOTICED MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS OBSTRUCTING IT BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT PREVENTED THE DOOR TO FULLY CLOSE PROPERLY. ALREADY IN A RUSH I JUST DUCT TAPED MY DOOR CLOSE AND LEFT, THE WHOLE TIME DRIVING MY INTERIOR SYSTEM KEPT NOTIFYING ME THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN. AFTER MY APPOINTMENT I DROVE STRAIGHT HOME AND HAVE NOT USED MY CAR. THE DRIVER SIDE STILL WILL NOT CLOSE OR LOCK WHICH MEANS I CANT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE VEHICLE OR USE IT.
DRIVERS DOOR LATCH JUST STOPPED WORKING. THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED AND FORD SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE A RECALL AT THIS TIME. IT IS AN ESTIMATED $700 FOR THE REPAIRS WHICH I FEEL IS OUTRAGEOUS SINCE THE CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE MULTIPLE OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
RIGHT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH DOESN'T STAY LATCHED ANYMORE. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THIS IS CLEARLY UNASAFE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR PART.

TRUNK OPENS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. NO BUTTONS ARE PUSHED, OPENS ON ITS OWN WHILE MOVING, EVEN AT SPEEDS OF 65MPH. THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 2 MONTHS, AND HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE AUTO DEALER (BOB HURLEY FORD IN TULSA, OKLAHOMA. CURRENTLY HAS 86,000 MILES ON VEHICLE, PURCHASED NEW. WILL PUT THE LAST DATE IT HAS HAPPENED, BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME ISSUE.
DOOR LATCH FAULTY AND FLIES OPEN WHEN DRIVING.
THE TRUNK DOESN'T REMAIN CLOSED. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE TRUNK WILL RANDOMLY OPEN. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TYPE OF ROAD I'M TRAVELING ON, I.E. RESIDENTIAL STREETS, MAJOR STREETS, THE FREEWAYS. I HAVE REMOVED ALL ITEMS FROM THE TRUNK AND THE PROBLEMS CONTINUES TO PERSIST. THE CAR DEALER HAS NOT DEEMED THE TRUNK LATCH AS DEFECTIVE AS THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AS THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE TRUNK WILL POP OPEN.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR AND PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR OF MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAVE SWUNG OPEN WHILST DRIVING DUE TO A FAULTY DOOR LATCH. IT OCCURS AFTER I HAVE CLOSED THE DOOR FULLY WITH NO HAZARD LIGHTS ON THE DASH TO WARN OF ANY PROBLEMS, SUCH AS THE DOOR AJAR MESSAGE. DUE TO THE FORCES OF TURNING THE VEHICLE AND OR SIMPLY DRIVING THE DOOR FLIES OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY HARM THE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION OTHER VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIANS MY DOOR COULD HIT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, EACH TIME IT LEAVES MY VEHICLE IMMOBILE DUE TO THE DOOR CHRONICALLY REFUSING TO LATCH. THIS IS A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE. IT IS FRANKLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS ABSURD A PROBLEM SHOULD PERSIST TO ENDANGER MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS. WHEN CLOSING FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CLOSES, DOOR LATCH WILL NOT KEEP DOOR SECURELY CLOSED. DOOR WILL OPEN ON THE SLIGHTEST PUSH AND WILL OPEN WHEN TURNING VEHICLE. IF PASSENGER IS NOT WEARING SEAT BELT OR IF SEAT BELT IS NOT FULLY PENSIONED, A PASSENGER MAY FALL FROM MOVING VEHICLE. ENGAGING DOOR LOCK WILL NOT SECURE DOOR. WITH LOCK ENGAGED DOOR WILL STILL OPEN WITHOUT RELEASE DOOR LATCH. DOOR LATCH WILL NOT ENGAGE.
DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DOOR WILL NO LONGER STAY SHUT. THE LATCH TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSE WOULD NO LONGER LATCH IN PLACE, SO YOU COULD PULL THE DOOR OPEN WITHOUT ANY FORCE.
