Your car's air conditioning system has a drainage tube that's supposed to direct condensation outside, but it's failing and leaking water inside your vehicle instead. The water has saturated your carpets, padding, wiring, and HVAC components, creating extensive mold growth that poses health and safety risks. Your insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss due to the severity of the mold contamination. Fixing this issue will likely require replacing the evaporator drain tube and potentially replacing water-damaged interior components like carpeting, padding, and wiring harnesses.

Your panoramic sunroof shade came loose and dropped down into the cabin. The dealer quoted $1,400–$1,700 to repair it, but your extended warranty claim was denied because the shade is considered fabric rather than a mechanical or electrical component. You believe this is a mechanical failure and a safety concern, especially since other Escape owners have reported similar shade failures.

Your sunshade for the ceiling sunroof came off its track and is now hanging down into the car, blocking your view through the rear view mirror. This happened shortly after your warranty expired. The sunshade will need to be reattached to its track or replaced.

Fabric cover of sunroof got detached from rails, so it rolls the fabric to the back of the vehicle leaving the clips hanging and no way to get the sunroof cover reattached.

The 2022 Ford Escape has an optional "Panoramic Vista View" sunroof with shade. This is a very large/long shade. A bar breaks in the sunroof mechanism that falls down onto the shade. This part could intrude into the cabin. The results are sagging and "bunching up" as the sunroof shade unfurls down onto rear passengers, including infants, children.

Sunroof sunshade snagged on a plastic plate that is attached to the underside of the roof, between the sunroof and the panoramic glass over the back seat. it is a cosmetic element. The plastic plate is held to the roof with pins and double stick adhesive pads. The adhesive on the pads failed causing the plastic plate to drop away from the roof, held by the plastic pins. On closing the sunroof the returning sunshade again engaged with the plastic plate dislodging it. Sunshade retaining clip on the passenger side, completely snapped off from the travel bar when it engaged the poorly attached plastic plate and the sunshade disengaged from the motor track and snapped into the slot at the back of the roof. Sunshade can no longer be engaged. Service rep at the Ford dealer told me it should be covered by warranty, when I showed him the broken parts. On return to the dealer, Ford service claims it is not covered by warranty.

Sunshade for the panorama broke for the second time. The first failure was covered under Ford TSB 22-2278 and this has since failed again under Ford TSB 23-2139. If this sunshade failure where to happen while driving, the shade might sag and visually impaire the driver.

In January 2024 vehicle check engine light came on and took to Autozone to check error code. It came back as a vapor canister purge valve. There are strong smells of gasoline, or rotten eggs. Vehicle has 52k miles and mpg has decreased as well last week. Reaching out to ford dealer but currently have received no recalls.

I entered the driver seat of my 2022 Ford Escape SE and closed the drivers door. I pushed in the brake and pushed the button to start the engine. Immediately the rear passenger side window rolled down without me activating the switch. I then could not roll the window back up. I turned off the car and started it again and tried the switch to roll it up but it didn’t work. I left the car running, exited the driver seat and walked around to the rear passenger door to activate the switch but the window would not roll up. I confirmed the child safety lock on the rear windows were not activated. I contacted the dealership and was told this is an issue that the regularly have people bring their vehicles in for.

It leaks or consumes excess amounts of coolant. I’ve had to refill it twice now. I know this is weird with a newer car with only 23,000 miles.

The middle hinge of front door has broke off inside the door and has my window “pinched” and no longer able to be rolled up or down. Occasionally the rod that is broken off will prevent me from closing my door all the way and will come unhinged going down the road. Was 500 miles over warranty (took me a few days to bring it in due to getting a day off approved) and FORD says it’s $2500 to fix their safety flaw.
