I believe the component that is causing the intermittent issue is the throttle body, however the issue is very hard to diagnose as it is very intermittent. There has been another case on the same engine (just a different year) that I have found online. While entering a highway on multiple occasions now, the vehicles engine entered a limp mode, and the entire dash had lit up with service messages.

On Monday August 30th 2021 while driving the warning light stating that the engine was overheating came on. The engine was stopped and coolant level was checked and shown to be low within the engine. Coolant was refilled and the engine seemed to stabilize.

The 3rd cylinder manufacture malfunction causing coolant to leak into the engine and requiring a replacement of the long block engine. There is currently a TSB but no recall. Please see ford TSB 19-2208.

In 2019 I had the same issue as prior report. Coolant made it's way into the engine and my engine had to be replaced. Actually occurred within warranty so Ford replaced it.

My vehicle has a cracked flywheel which is under recall on most 2017 edge vehicles. However my VIN is not included in that recall so I am now paying out of pocket for it to be fixed.

Our new ford edge was shipped from the factory mid june, but not delivered to the selling dealership until 8/11. It still has not been fixed and delivered to us.

Transmission failed without notice. Required full replacement.

Slow acceleration when the AWD system is needed, due to failure of rear differential. No replacement parts are available, suggesting high demand due to high failure rate, possibly due to poor design.

I am trying to file a complaint about no parts for recalls. I have had three recalls on this vehicle and none of them has been rectified due to no parts available. I'm trying to find out why we cannot get parts to fix the transmission bell housing or the brake hoses on these recall notices?

No warrants of issues when it happened was driving back home when my car started smoking then it drove for a little bit and then it would shoot up to gear 4 then back down and then it stopped.

Failed flex plate on ford edge not covered by ford. Customer satisfaction program does not cover due to mileage even though our vehicle was over the mileage threshold prior to ford sending out the notice.

Got diagnosed with needing rear differential work $5k right after extended warranty was up, I proudly maintain my car well and in timely fashion. The vehicle is now unable to turn and reverse without sounding like something is breaking; this is two months after diagnosis. Spoke with ford quick lane rep who stated a lot of the Ford vehicle’s differential have been going up.

2017 ford edge. Consumer writes in regard to NHTSA safety recall 22v-413. The consumer stated parts are not available to fix the recalls.

the vehicle stopped going into “Reverse” and the transmission indicator remains in “Neutral” even when shifted to the “Park” position which has made the vehicle prone to rolling unless the Electronic Parking Brake is engaged.

The rear differential completely blew apart while driving. According to our mechanic, this was a complete malfunction of the vehicle which only has 69,000 miles on it.

The flex plate cracked. They had to remove the transmission and replace the flex plate bolts.

Driving down the highway I pressed down on the brake the car was not stopping while the brake peddle went straight to the floor.

The flex plate was a problem that the ford motor company was aware of defective welded studs from the factory. Now I am out of pocket for more than 5 thousand dollars for their defect.
