You have to put the car in park and restart it to continue, which can happen at intersections or while turning and creates a serious safety hazard. Your alternator suddenly failed without any warning lights, causing your engine to stall while driving. Heavy smoke and a burning wire smell came from under the hood, and the alternator was severely damaged—so much so that it also burned out your PCM and other electrical components. The alternator essentially short-circuited and caught fire, which could have caused a vehicle fire or a crash with traffic behind you. Fixing this will require replacing the alternator, PCM, and potentially other damaged electrical components.

The vehicle cuts off when you slow your speed down.
We were sitting in the driveway, getting ready to go, and all of the sudden the passenger side airbag exploded open, without any warning hitting my passenger in the head. There was no warning at all, it just deployed. Apparently this happens quite a lot and now I am concerned about the driver's side doing it.
MY CAR CUTS OFF SOMETIMES WHEN I'M COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND ALSO DOES IT WHEN BREAKING TO MAKE A TURN. CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN. VERY DANGEROUS. AT FIRST IT WAS INFREQUENT BUT ITS HAPPENING ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. USUALLY THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS, HASN'T HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY YET.
MY FIANC AND I WERE HEADED TO HIS PARENTS HOUSE AND WHEN MY FIANC STARTED TO GO LEFT TOWARDS OUR TURN AND THE DURANGO JUST DIED. LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING WERE STILL ON BUT NO STEERING, LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AS IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ONCE HE GOT THE DURANGO STOPPED HE PUT IT IN PARK PUSHED THE START HITTING AND IT STARTED UP JUST FINE. CAN THIS BE RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP RECALL?

I GO GET MY CHECK FROM WORK I PULL UP RIGHT TO THE DOOR GET OUT I LEAVE IT UNLOCKED BC I ONLY WALK BOUT 5 STEPS TO INSIDE GRAB MY CHECK COME OUT TAKES LESS THAN 30 SECONDS GET IN TRY TO PUT IN DRIVE IT EONT MOVE I HAVE TO POWER OFF AN ON TO GET IT TO WORK I KNO IT SHUDNT DO THAT ONLY WEN I USE REMOTE. 2ND COMPLAINT WHEN DRIVING SAY I TURN THE CORNER AN GET ON GAS TO ACCELERATE IT WILL FEEL AS IF ITS LOST SOME POWER AS IF ITS DIED. TRANSMISSION COOLER IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERYWHERE AND THE TRUCK LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV AND THE TRUCK JUST SLOWED TO A STOP WITH SEMI TRUCKS FLYING PAST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY
MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF DURING TURNS AND WHEN SLOWING TO COME TO A STOP. IT IS FRIGHTENING. I'VE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER WHO TELLS ME THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL YET I HAVE READ SIMILAR CONCERNS AS MINE ON THE INTERNET WHEN I STARTED RESEARCHING IT. IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS BEFORE IT COSTS ME MY LIFE? IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY BUT ONCE IS TOO MUCH.
THE VEHICLE IS STALLING WHILE TRYING TO START , THE VEHICLE WILL ACT LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING AND FUEL WHILE DRIVING AND WILL PREFORM A JERKING MOTION AS I CONTINUE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TRYING TO GET SOME FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY.THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS A FAULTY FUEL SYSTEM RELAY , I HAVE DONE RESEARCH OVER A DOZEN TIME TALKED TO CERTIFIED VEHICLE MEN AND IT IS A RECALL ON 2011 DODGE DURANGO'S.
HEAT SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPELLY. RIGHT SIDE REMAIN OFF , WHOLE SYSTEM STARTING DELAYED AND SUDDENLY STOP .
FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND IN THE STREET. I HAVE TAKEN THE CARE TO THE SHOP AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, BUT THE CARE STILL STALL WHEN DRIVING.
RECALL T36 2011 DODGE DURANGO WHILE DRIVING, MY DURANGO BEGAN LOSING POWER. WHEN I PULLED OVER AND LIFTED THE HOOD, SMOKE WAS POURING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC, WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE ALTERNATOR BURNED UP AND MY 3 MONTH OLD BATTERY WAS NOW DEAD. AFTER THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE WAS FRIED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED.
I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO. I BOUGHT IT IN 2012. SINCE THEN IT'S BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP. I THINK IF I'M BOT MISTAKEN ITS BEEN SERVICE MORE THEN 10 TIMES. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE TIPM IN THE PAST. WELL IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT RECENTLY IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING AND ALL THE GUAGES ON THE DASHBOARD WENT CRAZY. TURNING OFF AND ON ALL THE WARNING LIGHT STARTED TURNING ON AND OFF ALSO. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON ALSO. THE HEATER TURNED ON I COULDN'T TURN IT OFF. AS I WAS DRIVING I COULDN'T EVEN CONTROL THE STEERING. IT WAS THE SCARIEST THING LIKE MY CAR WAS POSSESSED. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT A VECHICLE YOU SO MUCH MONEY CAN JUST DO THIS. I WAS SCARED FOR MY AND MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY. AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. I TRIED MY BEST TO STAY CALM AND I JUST FOCED ON GETTING HOME. WHICH IS WHERE I WAS HEADED. I MADE IT HOME PARKED IN THE DRIVE WAY. NY CAR BARELY CLEARED TGE SIDEWALK INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND WOULDN'T MOVE ANY FARTHER. IT WAS MAKING AN UGLY LOUD RUMBLING NOISE. AND IT STARTED SMOKING ALOT OUT IF THE EXHAUST. IT SHUT OFF AND HASN'T TURNED IN SINCE THEN. I SAT THERE TRYING TO CALN DOWN BECAUSE MY ADRENALINE WAS GOING FROM BEING SCARED FOR MY CHILDREN. AND ALSO MY EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED SO ANY REPAIR COST WILL HAVE TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET. I REMEMBER WHEN I TOLD MY HUSBAND I WANTED A DODGE DURANGO. BECAUSE IT WAS MY DREAM VEHICLE. NOW IT'S MORE LIKE A NIGHTMARE. IF MY FRIENDS ASK IF I LIKE MY DURANGO AND IF I WOULD RECOMMEND THEY BUY ONE I TELL THEM NO. THIS IS SAD BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DODGE FAMILY.. AND NOW IM SITTING AT HOME WITH NO VEHICLE TO GET MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. AND I CAN'T EVEN GET TO WORK EITHER. MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN. YOU WOULD THINK DODGE WOULD MAKE A DEPENDABLE CAR FOR THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS.
UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION THESE IS A RATTLING/ VIBRATION FROM FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. TYPICALLY BETWEEN 1000-3000RPM IN ANY GEAR OR ROAD CONDITION. SOUND IS EASILY AUDIBLE FROM INSIDE FROM ALL PASSENGERS. HAVE REPLACED WHEEL BEARINGS, STRUTS, SWAY BARS TRYING TO FIX WITH NO LUCK. 5.7 HEMI, AUTOMATIC, AUTO AWD/4LOW
WHEN I SHUT OFF ENGINE AND EXIT THE VEHICLE, I LOCK THE DOORS. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN MY POCKET AND WALK AWAY, THE VEHICLE WILL EITHER LOCK OR UNLOCK JUST BY WALKING WITH THE KEY IN MY POCKET. MOST RECENTLY, WHEN WALKING WITH IN POCKET, THE FRONT WINDOWS ROLL DOWN.
CAR WONT RUN I SWITCH THE KEY ON IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE ENTIRELY SHAKING AND IT JUST SOUNDS LIKE ITS GOING TO START BUT IT DOESN'T IT SHUTS OFF ON IT'S OWN. I GOT THIS CAR FROM CARMAX SUMMER OF 2014 I'M STILL PAYING FOR IT EVERY MONTH I'VE FIXED IT OUT OF POCKET FOR THE ALTERNATOR. WHICH WAS ONE OF THE RECALLS IT HAD. I TOOK IT ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO TO THE CHRYSLER CENTER NEAR BY AND HAD EVEN MORE VARIOUS RECALLS TAKEN CARE OF. I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS TIME I CALLED AND CHECKED IN WITH THE CHRYSLER CENTER I TOOK IT TO IS SAYING THERE'S NO NEW RECALLS ON MY CAR. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY MONTHLY FOR A CAR THAT I CANT DEPEND ON ITS NOW SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. I NEED HELP.

THE FCW LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. I HAVE DONE THE CLEANING THING AND OBVIOUSLY THEY KNOW AT THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS AN ISSUE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE BEING PLOWED INTO IN ORDER FOR THEM TO HAVE TO FIX IT?

DODGE DURANGO WAS STARTING WITH ISSUES 1 MONTH AGO WITH TURNING ON. WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON IT WOULD MAKE THE SOUND AS IF TRYING TO TURN ON BUT COULD NOT TURN ON COMPLETELY. AFTER 4 TO 5 TIMES OF CONTINUOUS PUSHING THE START BUTTON, IT WOULD FINALLY TURN ON, BUT THAN AT TIMES IT WOULD SHAKE AND SHUT OFF RIGHT AWAY. WHILE DRIVING THE DURANGO SUNDAY, I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN, MADE A COMPLETE STOP, THAN PUSHED THE GAS TO GO, BUT THE DURANGO WOULD MOVE. I PUSHED THE GAS SEVERAL TIMES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I TURNED THE DURANGO OFF AND IT WOULD NOT TURN ON ANYMORE. VERY UNSAFE. THE MECHANIC SAID HE BELIEVES IT IS THE TIPM BUT WILL BE RUNNING MORE TEST. I'VE READ SEVERAL REVIEWS OF THIS SAME ISSUE. IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST FOR RECALL P60. BUT MY TRUCK JUST HAD TO BE TOWED DUE TO BATTERY LIGHT COMING ON AND ABOUT 20 MINS LATER SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD LOSS OF POWER STEERING THEM A DEAD TRUCK WITH A KEY STUCK IN THE IGNITION . WHILE DRIVING BEFORE ANY OF THIS HAPPEN THERE WAS A LACK OF MOTION ON THE TRUCK IT DID NOT WANT TO GO . THE COMPUTER SYSTEM STARTED TO MALFUNCTION FLASHING ON AND OFF TELLING ME TO BUCKLE MY SEAT BELT , WHICH I HAD MINE ON AND SO DID MY CHILDREN! NOW I'M HAVING TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE BECAUSE MINE VIN IS NOT LISTED WITH THE RECALL P60 . ALL THE SIGNS POINT TO THIS RECALL I AM NOT HAPPY
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT, A DEAD SHORT PERMANENTLY DAMAGED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE ALTERNATOR PERMANENTLY DAMAGED THE BATTERY. THIS ISSUE WAS SUDDEN AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE PRIOR TO THIS OCCURRENCE. THE SHORT WAS SERIOUS ENOUGH TO CAUSE A FIRE, ALTHOUGH A FIRE DID NOT OCCUR. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A FORTUNATE BIT OF LUCK. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE IN OTHER VEHICLES IN THE SAME MODEL YEAR, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED AT THIS TIME. I HAD TO PAY A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THIS ISSUE (DIAGNOSIS, PARTS AND LABOR).
WE HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS SUV SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE. OUR LATEST ISSUE IS THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT STAY OPEN AND IT JUST SLAMS SHUT AND OVER RIDES THE SAFETY FEATURE OF IF AN OBJECT OR PERSON IS IN THE WAY IT WOULD GO BACK OPEN. CURRENTLY AS IT IS IT WOULD CRUSH A PERSON, THE ISSUE MAKES IT SO WE CAN NOT EVEN USE OUR REAR HATCH. THERE WAS A NOTICE SENT OUT BY THE TSB ON FEB. 1, 2013 NUMBER 08-005-13 ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HOW IT NEEDS A NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO CHRYSLER A NUMBER OF TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE, THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT INTO A DEALERSHIP AND PAY FOR IT TO BE LOOKED AT. FIRST THAT IS SO NOT RIGHT AS IF IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO THEM AND THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT, SECOND THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THIS SUV FROM IS 2 MILES FROM OUR HOME THEY REFUSE TO WORK OUR SUV AND WANT US TO DRIVE 80 PLUS MILES TO HAVE IT WORKED ON., THIS IS NOT RIGHT AS I BOUGHT IT FROM THEM WHY SHOULD I ENDURE THE TIME AND EXSPENSE OF FIXING AN ISSUE WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. WE ASK THAT YOU GUYS STEP IN AND MAKE THEM MAKE RIGHT BY THIS AND FIX THIS ISSUE THAT THEY KNOW IS COMMON FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL.
TRANSMISSION FLUID IS LEAKING FROM THE AC CONDENSER OF MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THERE IS PURPLISH FLUID ON MY DRIVEWAY AND THE CONDENSER IS COVERED IN FLUID. WHEN I CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE CONDENSER, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PART AND THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY IS OUT. THEY WANT $110 JUST TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD TO SEE WHERE THE FLUID IS COMING FROM. CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BECAUSE CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE 2015 DODGE DURANGOS. VEHICLE IS RUNNING A LITTLE SLUGGISH AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY ALSO BE A FIRE HAZARD.

THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM UNDER NEATH THE CAR LIKE WHERE THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY. I PURCHASED A NEW BATTEREY AND TESTED IT OUT OVER THE WEEKEND. I CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MY CAR STARTED MAKING A HUMING SOUND WHEN ON AND AS I WOULD DRIVE IT. THE DAY THAT I WAS DRIVING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP A BUNCH OF SMOKE WAS COMING IN FROM THE AC VENTS WITH SMALL PARTICALS. I HAD TO TURN OFF MY AC. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK NOW AND SO FAR THEY FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR ISN'T WORKING.
