When you fold your second-row captain seats back into the cargo position and then try to put them back up for seating, the headrest may not lock properly into the upright position. This could cause the headrest to poke whoever sits in the seat in the back of the head, creating a safety concern. The dealer diagnosed the issue but hasn't identified the specific part that needs replacement yet. Fixing this will likely require replacing the headrest locking mechanism or related seat hardware.

The sliding center console/armrest in my 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe moves too easily and does not remain securely locked in place when fully extended forward. Even light pressure, such as when a passenger or driver rests an elbow, can cause it to shift suddenly. This can startle the driver and cause a momentary loss of focus, creating a safety hazard while the vehicle is in motion. When the console is fully extended forward, it should lock in position. In my vehicle, it often fails to stay locked, allowing unintended movement in each direction. This happens during normal driving conditions and can be triggered accidentally by an occupant’s elbow or arm. The sudden movement is distracting, especially at highway speeds, and could contribute to an unsafe driving situation. GM issued TSB PIE0677B in April 2022 describing this exact condition (“Power Floor Console Armrest will not lock in place and/or console lid slides back and forth freely”), indicating they are aware of the defect. However, there has been no recall. Given the potential for distraction and loss of control, this should be addressed as a safety recall.
3rd row seat headrest will not stay up. Unable to sit in the seat due to headrest bending forward.
