While your 2008 Tahoe was parked at a school, smoke began coming from the driver's front seat area and the vehicle quickly caught fire and was engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire, and no one was injured, but the vehicle was declared a total loss by insurance. The owner suspects an electrical problem caused the fire since the hood wasn't damaged by the flames.

DASH BOARD CRACKS ON THE PASSAGES SIDE BESIDE THE AIRBAG COVER. ALSO CRACKS ON THE DRIVER SIDE FROM NEAR THE WINDSHIELD RUNNING TOWARD THE ODOMETER AREA. CRACKS APPEARED OVER TIME THAT I OWNED THE VEHICLE.

I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER OF MY 2008 CHEVY TAHOE, MY DASH HAS CRACKED TWICE AND REPLACED, NOW MY DASH IS CRACKED AGAIN. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE AS I AM AMONG THOUSANDS THAT ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I DO NOT HAVE WARRANTY ANY LONGER AND NEITHER GM NOR THE DEALERSHIP WILL FIX THIS ISSUE FOR FREE. THIS IS WRONG AND NOT A GOOD WAY TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IF GM IS EXPECTING THOSE SAME PEOPLE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR THEM AS THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. A CRACKED DASH IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND SIMPLY SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. IT SHOWS THE VEHICLE WAS MADE WITH THE CHEAPEST OF PRODUCTS. IT IS ALSO SOMETHING THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE DASH SITS OVER AIR BAGS, SO IF AN ACCIDENT SHALL OCCUR AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY COULD CAUSE MORE HARM TO THE DRIVERS. I AM APPALLED THAT NO ONE WILL FIX THIS ISSUE SINCE IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I AM VERY UPSET AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY DEALERSHIPS AND GM ALTOGETHER.
THE DASH IS CRACKED ABOVE THE DRIVERS INSTRUMENT PANEL AND LOOKS AS IF IT IS SEPARATING ALONG THE SEAM DOWN TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THERE IS ALSO A CRACK AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT UNNECESSARY AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I AM UNCERTAIN OF THE EXACT DATE SO I PUT WHEN I NOTICED IT IN THE DATE LINE.
WE OWN TWO CHEVY TAHOE'S AND BOTH OF THEM (2008 & 2012) HAVE CRACKING DASHBOARDS. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF THE AIRBAGS. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND IS A HAZARDS TO DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS.
TAKATA RECALL BATTERY DRAINAGE WITH TESTED GOOD BATTERY & GOOD ALTERNATOR. ISSUES UNKNOWN BUT CAR HAD TO BE JUMPED 3 TIMES IN ONE WEEK. NOTHING WAS LEFT ON OR PLUGGED IN. SHOP COULDN'T FIND PROBLEM. ONE EXAMPLE IS WENT TO GET GAS & AFTER FILL, CAR WOULDN'T TURN ON.

THE DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAS CRACKED AND CONTINUES TO SPREAD. I FEAR THIS MAY BE A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WITH PIECES OF THE DASH BECOMING SHAPNEL
DASH CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. RECENTLY PIECES BEGAN FALLING OUT AROUND PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF ACCIDENT OCCURRED PIECES COULD BECOME PROJECTILE OBJECTS. OVER 10,500 SIGNATURES ON CHANGE.ORG AND STILL NO RESULTS TO SOLVE THE ISSUES.

THE DASHBOARD HAS A CRACKED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CRACK INVOLVES THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER.
DASHED IS CRACKED ON PASSENGER SIDE NEAR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER UNDER WINDSHIELD AND THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
WE BOUGHT A 2008 CHEVY TAHOE & THE DASH IS CRACKED NEAR THE AIRBAG LIKE MANY OTHERS & A BRAND NEW CRACK HAS HAPPENED ABOVE THE CLUSTER AREA. WE ALSO PURCHASED THE WARRANTY WHEN WE BOUGHT IT BUT GM WILL NOT COVER IT.
SHORTLY AFTER MY 2008 WARRANTY EXPIRED I NOTICED THAT THE INTERIOR DASHBOARD BEGAN CRACKING IN VARIOUS PLACES AND I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BUT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MANY OF THE PARTS IN THIS VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE NOT CHEAP PARTS. AFTER MY LAST PART EPISODE, I DECIDED TO LOOK UP A COMMON THEME ONLINE; ONLY TO DISCOVER THERE ARE MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUES THAT I AM HAVING. HOWEVER, THE CRACKED DASHBOARD IS MORE SERIOUS BECAUSE IT HOUSES THE DEFECTED TAKATA AIRBAG THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME ON REPLACING THAT ISSUE EITHER. THE DASH BOARD FIRST CRACKED IN JULY 2011 AND ANOTHER CRACKED OCCURRED IN JULY 2017. I USE A DASH COVER TO PROTECT MY VEHICLE FROM HEAT; HOWEVER, NOTHING SEEM TO STOP THE DASH FROM CRACKING AND THE INTERIOR PARTS FROM FALLING A PART.

DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AT UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER OF PASSENGER AIR BAG AND ABOVE DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL. CRACK AT AIR BAG IS WORRISOME IN EVENT THAT IT MAY EFFECT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS. IS THIS SAFE AND WILL NOT CAUSE ANY MALFUNCTION TO THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE AIRBAGS? KINDLY DO THE NEEDFUL TO CHECK ON THIS ISSUE. THANKS.

DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. HEARD POPPING NOISE THAT STARTLED ME WHILE DRIVING. UPON INSPECTION DISCOVERED NEW CRACK IN DASH WHICH WAS NOT CRACKED PRIOR. WE DO NOT USE CLEANING SOLUTIONS IN OUR TAHOE DUE TO OUR DAUGHTER HAVING RESPIRATORY ISSUES. WE ONLY WIPE WITH CLOTHS. THIS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY CLEANING SOLUTIONS DUE TO THAT.
I NOTICED THAT ON MY TAHOE MY DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING ON BOTH SIDES. SO I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND IT WAS HAPPENING WITH MANY OTHER TAHOE SILVERADO AND GM CARS WHERE THE DASH STARTED CRACKING. I DON'T FIND IT FAIR THAT WE ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT GM DOESN'T PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT IT'S THE PRODUCT THEY PUT IN OUR CARS WERE CHEAP QUALITY TO WHERE ALL OF US BUYERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THEREFORE I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AND TAKE CARE OF WHAT THEY MESSED UP WITH ALSO IT IS A HAZARD BECAUSE ANYTHING ON YOUR CAR THAT ISN'T MET TO THE BASIC STANDARDS MAY BE ENTITLED TO A LAW SUIT SO I THINK WE NEED A RECALL AND THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY BECUASE I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR WITH CRACKED PARTS THAT CAN FLY INTO ANYONES EYE WITH THE WINDOW OPEN. TAKATA RECALL DASHBOARD CRACKING MORE AND MORE... FALLING INTO PIECES. WORRIED IT MAY AFFECT AIRBAGS OR PREVENT AIRBAGS TO WORK PROPERLY.
IS THIS CAR A TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE? CARFAX SAYS IT IS, AND IT HAPPENED IN 2011. THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS REPORTED BY AN INSURANCE COMPANY?
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CRACKED DASHBOARD AS HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE AND THE MORE SERIOUS CONCERN IS THAT MY BRAKES GO OUT WHEN I AM STOPPING SOMETIMES CAUSING MY CAR TO JOLT FORWARD AND IT SOMETIMES DOES THE SAME WITH THE GAS WHEN I AM STARTING TO DRIVE, WHERE IT WILL STALL AND JOLT FORWARD. THE DEALERSHIP HAS "FIXED" THE PROBLEM TWO OR THREE TIMES REPLACING FIRST THE HYBRID BATTERY AND THEN THE REGULAR BATTERY. NEITHER TRULY FIX IT. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, I CAME WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE MY BRAKES WENT OUT AGAIN. I KNOW IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH BEING A HYBRID BECAUSE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
THE FRONT DASH BOARD IS CRACKED, IT HAPPENED IN 2014, THERE WAS A CRACK ACROSS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM ON THE DRIVER SIDE, I DID NOT CONTACTED THE COMPANY BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY ALREADY BUT JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO ANOTHER CRACK APPEARED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE ACROSS FROM WHERE THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY, THIS GOT ME CONCERNED FOR SAFETY REASONS, I STARTED READING MORE AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH MOST CHEVROLET TRUCKS/SUV'S. ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN FROM GMC TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE AND REPLACE CRACKED DASHBOARDS.

2 LARGE CRACKS ON DASHBOARD NOT TRUAMA RELATED JUST STARTED TO APPEAR AND GREW LARGER
MY DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING WHEN MY TAHOE HAD APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES, WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN MONTEREY PARK CA, AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING. AT 60,000 MILES ANOTHER CRACK APPEARED AND I SENT AN EMAIL TO GM, THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, THEY OFFER TO PAY ONLY PART OF THE REPAIR. WHY PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED IF IT IS MORE THAN OBVIOUS THAT THEY MADE A BIG DESIGN ERROR OR PERHAPS MATERIALS USED ARE SUPER LOW QUALITY. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER WITH THIS ISSUE, AND THE CRACKS KEEP APPEARING AND GROWING.

THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT AND THAT IS NOT RIGHT. MY VEHICLE STARTED CRACKING LIKE RIGHT AFTER A YEAR AND THAT IS RIDICULOUS. THE CRACKS ARE ALL OVER MY DASHBOARD.
DASH HAS CRACKED TO THE POINT IF THE AIR BAGS CAME OUT IT WOULD BE VERY HARMFUL WITH ALL THE PLASTIC PIECES FLYING EVERYWHERE! DIDN'T GET THE RECALL NOTICE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED SINCE IT IS THE MANUFACTURER USING INFERIOR MATERIALS.

MUTABLE CRACKS IN DASHBOARD. THIS IS A WELL KNOW ISSUE WITH 07 TO 11 GM'S. THERE WAS NO ABUSE OR REASON FOR THE CRACKS. THE CRACKS ARE CAUSING SHARP EDGES AND POINTS THAT ARE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. AS WELL AS EXPOSING INTERNAL EQUIPMENT THAT COULD LEAD TO FAILURE INCLUDING AIR BAGS.
A CRACK HAS DEVELOPED ON THE DASHBOARD BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE DASHBOARD WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BY THE DEALER (BRYAN CHEVROLET, METAIRIE, LA) IN 2010. THIS IS A WIDELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL GM TRUCKS AND SUV IN THIS "CLASS". THIS IS A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR RECALL DUE TO POSSIBLE INJURY DUE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.

THE DASHBOARD HAS A 6-8" CRACK, VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT & SUNSHADES. NO DAMAGE CAUSED TO VEHICLE TO CAUSE THE CRACK.

THERE ARE TWO SEPARATE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD WAS NEVER ABUSED OR HIT. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS PROBLEM WITH MANY GM VEHICLES FROM 2007-2013.
WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IN VERY GOOD DRIVING CONDITIONS, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND REALIZED THAT MY DASH HAD CRACKED. THE CRACK ORIGINALLY STRETCHED 6-7 INCHES FROM THE EDGE OF THE DASH CLOSE TO THE WINDSHIELD ABOVE THE GAUGE CLUSTER TOWARD THE DRIVER. THE CRACK CONTINUES TO LENGTHEN AND MY CONCERN IS THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT INCREASES AS THE CRACK GETS LONGER. ANOTHER CRACK IS FORMING WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED WHICH WILL PRESENT A CONSIDERABLE HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AS ANY SHARDS OF PLASTIC COULD BECOME POTENTIAL PROJECTILES THAT MAY CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO MYSELF OR A PASSENGER. I HAVE BEEN A LIFELONG LOYAL GM CUSTOMER AND I DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS COMPONENT. I BROUGHT THIS CONCERN TO THE ATTENTION OF THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE OBVIOUS FAILURE OF THE DASHBOARD.

THE DASH OF MY TAHOE HAS NUMEROUS CRACKS AROUND THE AIRBAG, VENTS, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES AND STILL CAUSES THE INDICATOR TO LIGHT UP BECUASE THE SENSOR FAILED.
DASH BOARD HAS THREE CRACKS IN IT AROUND THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
KNOWN DEFECT IN 2007 THROUGH 2013 CHEVROLET TAHOE DASHBOARD. DASHBOARD CRACKS AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG HOUSING CAUSING DEFECTS TO AIR BAG SYSTEM.
THE DASH HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS, EXPOSING THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. THE PLASTIC/FOIL OUTER COATING ON THE DOOR HANDLES ARE CRACKED AND PEELING AND HAVE CUT PEOPLE'S HANDS.
I HAVE 3 CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD THAT HAVE APPEARED OVER A COURSE OF APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. I HAVE 2 THAT ARE ABOVE MY ODOMETER AND ONE THAT IS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA OF THE DASH. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT IS MAKING CRACKLING NOISES AS IF IT IS SLOWLY SPREADING.
A CRACK STARTED TO FORM ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE CRACK HAS SPREAD AND HAS CAUSED PRESSURE AND STRAIN ON OTHER PARTS OF THE DASHBOARD LEADING TO MAJOR CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC ALL THE WAY FROM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TO THE DRIVERS SIDE DASH 'HUMP' ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM/DEFECT WITH THE CHEVY TAHOE MODEL FROM 2007-2011. THE CRACKS ARE A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THEY ARE STARTING FROM AND ARE SURROUNDING THE AIRBAGS. ANY DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS ARE AT RISK OF MALFUNCTION AS WELL AS POSSIBLY CAUSING DAMAGE TO PASSENGERS DUE TO THE CRACKED PIECES POTENTIAL OF BREAKING OFF AND BEING HURLED AT PASSENGERS UPON IMPACT/DEPLOYMENT. GM SHOULD RECALL THESE MODELS AND FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE.

THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AS TENS OF THOUSANDS OF OWNERS HAVE REPORTED BUT GM HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE AS OF YET. PLEASE PLEASE GET SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THIS AS IT IS A MAJOR CONCERN. I'D LOVE TO CONTINUE TO BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS BUT MY FAITH IN THEIR QUALITY IS WANING!
I PURCHASED VEHICLE IN 2009 FROM ROSS DOWNING CHEVROLET DASH BOARD WAS CRACKED IN THREE PLACES.WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE EXCEPT TO REPLACE IT AT A COST OF ABOUT 800 DOLLARS.TWO OF THE CRACKS IS AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS.
APRIL, 2015 I NOTICED SMALL CRACK IN RIGHT SIDE OF DASH IN FRONT OF PASSENGER AND LARGER CRACK IN DRIVER DASH. MAY 2015 THE CRACKS WERE SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER. THE VEHICLE LIVES IN A GARAGE IN FLORIDA WHEN NOT BEING DRIVEN. IT IS NOT PRIMARY VEHICLE DRIVEN. DASH PAD WAS REPLACED BY PALM CHEVROLET IN OCALA, FLORIDA ON JUNE 2, 2015. THE COST WAS $721.41..
MY DASH DEVELOPED ONE CRACK, THAN TWO, THEN THREE, WITH NO IMPACT OR OBVIOUS REASON. I EVENTUALLY TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD BY THE ADVISOR THAT THIS WAS NOT UNCOMMON. THEY SPLIT THE REPAIR COST WITH ME, BUT I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THIS WAS FAR MORE WIDE SPREAD THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY PART.
DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO WORK WITH KEY REMOTE AS WELL AS BUTTONS ON THE DOORS. ENDED UP PAYING $560.00 TO HAVE LOCKS AND LATCHES REPLACED.
