Component: EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Cadillac XT4 and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The vehicles may have the wrong owner's manual in the glove box. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Risk: The wrong owner's manual may contain inaccurate information about vehicle functions and other safety relevant information, which could lead to improper operation of the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Fix: Dealers will provide owners with the correct manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac's customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242454040.

Filed: Nov 2024

Your car's adaptive cruise control isn't slowing down when approaching other vehicles, which is a safety concern. The dealership checked the forward collision avoidance system but couldn't reproduce the problem. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the radar or camera sensors that detect vehicles ahead and recalibrating or replacing components as needed.

Filed: Oct 2024

Your forward collision avoidance and blind spot mirror warning systems became inoperable, as indicated by a warning light on your dashboard. Shortly after, you nearly hit a car that swerved in front of you without the system alerting you. You've also experienced additional warning system failures, including false tire pressure alerts and loss of brake warning sounds. The repair will likely involve diagnosing and replacing faulty sensors or control modules for the collision avoidance and warning systems.

Filed: Dec 2025

Water is pooling in your trunk due to a faulty seal that's allowing water to leak into the vehicle. The dealership confirmed this during a diagnostic. You're asking Chevrolet to extend your warranty to cover this defect, which you've learned is a known issue that may have had warranty extensions offered to other owners. Water intrusion can lead to additional problems like rust, electrical damage, and mold if not addressed.

Your car is displaying multiple diagnostic trouble codes (P0562, C0609, U0151) and has no air conditioning working. The front bumper clips are loose and won't stay tight, and your car is reading a low voltage warning. With less than 14,000 miles on the odometer, you're experiencing several issues that suggest potential electrical and climate control problems. Diagnosis will likely involve a full electrical system check, A/C system service, and front bumper clip replacement or adjustment.

CrashFiled: Jul 2024

While driving this rental Malibu on the highway, the vehicle ahead stopped suddenly. You pressed the brakes hard to avoid a collision, but the brakes didn't respond properly, causing you to crash into the vehicle in front of you. The brake system may not have been functioning as designed, and it's unclear when the vehicle was last serviced.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your 2024 Malibu sometimes won't start when you press the start button and brake together, and displays "Service ESC" and "Engine Power is Reduced" messages on the dashboard. When this happens, the instrument cluster gauges (speedometer, fuel, temperature, and RPM) move erratically back and forth, and the speedometer may show 0 mph even while driving, forcing you to pull over or move to a slow lane. Restarting the vehicle sometimes clears the warning but often makes it worse, and you may get a "Shift to Park" message even though the car is already parked. The fix will likely require a diagnostic scan and possibly electrical system repairs or software updates at a dealership.

Filed: Jul 2025

Your car is shutting off while driving and displaying a message telling you to shift into neutral before restarting it. This suggests an electrical or transmission sensing issue that's interrupting normal engine operation. You'll need to have the electrical system and transmission sensors diagnosed to identify what's causing the shutdown.
