Your 2024 Malibu sometimes won't start when you press the start button and brake together, and displays "Service ESC" and "Engine Power is Reduced" messages on the dashboard. When this happens, the instrument cluster gauges (speedometer, fuel, temperature, and RPM) move erratically back and forth, and the speedometer may show 0 mph even while driving, forcing you to pull over or move to a slow lane. Restarting the vehicle sometimes clears the warning but often makes it worse, and you may get a "Shift to Park" message even though the car is already parked. The fix will likely require a diagnostic scan and possibly electrical system repairs or software updates at a dealership.
