DRIVERS SEAT BELT UNSPOOLS COMPLETELY WHEN DRIVING AND STAYS THAT WAY. DEALER QUOTES JUST UNDER $400 TO REPAIR. HAVE IT REPAIRED AND TWO MONTHS LATER DOES THE SAME THING WHILE STANDING STILL AND PULLING OUT SEAT TO BUCKLE.. AUTO IS NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT WORKING SEATBELT. *TR
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN I HEARD A "METAL PIECE DROP" AND MY DRIVERS SEAT BELT UNROLLED IN MY LAP. I GUESS THE METAL THING I HEARD FALL WAS THE TENSION PIECE THAT LETS THE SEAT BELT PULL OUT & RETRACT BACK WHEN NOT USING THE SEAT BELT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP & THEY SAY IT IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS AND IT WOULD COST ME APP. $365 TO GET A NEW SEAT BELT INSTALLED. I FEEL IT IS A "SAFETY" ISSUE!!! IN NORTH CAROLINA, WE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A SEAT BELT AND ALTHOUGH I CAN PUT THE SEAT BELT ON, IT WOULD NOT HOLD ME IN THE VEHICLE IF I WAS TO HAVE A WRECK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
SEATBELT RETRACTOR STOPPED WORKING UNABLE TO USE SEATBELTS. *TR
SEAT BELT RETRACTOR DRIVER SIDE SPRING HAS COME UNHOOKED FROM SQUARE SIDED SHAFT THAT RETRACTS SEAT BELT . SEAT BELT IS RENDERED USELESS WHEN THIS HAPPENS , AS ENTIRE BELT PULLS OUT AND IS UNABLE TO BE TIGHTENED DOWN ACROSS LAP OR SHOULDER AS THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY . IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN BEFORE A COLLISION SERIOUS INJURY COULD OCCUR . ON EXAMINING RETRACTOR I FOUND THAT PLASTIC COVER THAT COVERS AND ALSO IS TO HOLD SPRING CLAMP ONTO SEAT BELT SHAFT IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD DEVICE IN POSITION TO KEEP TENSION AND ENGAGE COLLISION LOCK OF BELT . THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND WAS SLOWING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN WHEN THE I HEARD THIS LOUD SOUND LIKE A SPRING BEING POPPED. THEN MY SEAT BELT RELEASED. IT HAD COME OUT OF THE WINDER AND HAD TO BE FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED A PASSENGER NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT STITCHING WAS LOOSE ON ONE OF THE REAR SEAT BELTS. SHE LATER WAS ADVISED THAT ALL THREE REAR SEAT BELTS STITCHING CAME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE REAR SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACING TO INCLUDE THE BUCKLES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURE AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,861.
DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT SHOULDER HARNESS WARNING LIGHT AND BUZZER COMES ON EVEN THOUGH THE BELT IS ENGAGED IN LOCKING MECHANISM. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT ACCOMMODATE AN ADULT. THERE IS A STITCHING ON THE SEAT BELT THAT BECOMES STUCK IN THE RETRACTOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO INSTALL A SEAT BELT EXTENDER. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,000. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ON MY 2007 CHEVY MAILIBU HAS STITCHING THAT DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO POSITION ITSELF EASILY ON SMALLER PERSONS. THE SEATBELT OFTEN DOES NOT FIT SNUG BECAUSE THE STITCHING DOES NOT SLIDE EASILY THROUGH THE BUCKLE SO THE LAP BELT ISN'T SITTING SNUGLY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT IN TWICE AND THE BELT THEY REORDER HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AND THEY SAY THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING MORE.
