While driving at about 20 mph, your front passenger-side steering knuckle suddenly broke in half, causing you to lose steering and suspension control. A mechanic found significant rust inside the broken part, suggesting the metal had an internal defect from manufacturing that weakened it over time. The part failed under normal driving conditions on a 2-year-old vehicle, pointing to a manufacturing problem rather than wear and tear. Repair will require replacing the damaged steering knuckle assembly.
