criticalFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: Sep 2025

Your Travel Assist system—which includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist—is disabled and triggering warning lights and loud beeping that flash on and off repeatedly, sometimes multiple times per second, starting when you turn on the engine and continuing at all speeds up to 70 mph. This constant flashing and beeping is extremely distracting while driving and makes it unsafe to ignore the warnings, yet the frequency of the alerts also distracts you from the road. Your VW dealership has indicated this is a known issue that requires replacing the steering wheel, though they're uncertain if it affects the airbag system and the part is currently on backorder.
