2023 Volkswagen Id.4 Body & Structure Problems

Was stationary in dense traffic, all waiting for a local bridge to open. We had been waiting for 10 or so minutes. Had braked and stopped close to car in front, car in Auto Hold.

Per the existing recall on my vehicle, the driver’s side door handle has failed.

Drivers door will not open from exterior and occasionally interior. Parts on back order. Serious safety issue.

door-handle safety recall had previously been completed on this vehicle. While driving at normal city speed, the front passenger door opened unexpectedly while a passenger was seated inside, creating a serious safety risk. The passenger was restrained by a seat belt, preventing ejection.

The vehicle’s door handle malfunctioned twice, causing a door to open unexpectedly while driving at normal speeds. Small children were present as passengers during one of these incidents, increasing the risk of injury had the door opened fully or had another driver reacted suddenly to the open door. There were no warning lamps, audible alerts, or error messages before these occurrences.

VW failed to perform the repairs associated with recall 24V651 because the necessary parts are not available despite months of leadtime. It costs me $80 each time I bring my car in. It is currently at the dealership and they have no eta for the parts.

I have a Manufacturer Compliance Recall and a Manufacturer Safety Recall outstanding, neither of which the manufacturer can fix. I have called the dealership multiple times to make an appointment to have them fixed, but they do not yet have the remedies available. I have had multiple problems with this car from the day I got it on November 6, 2023.

back right door opened up while driving through our neighborhood at slow speed turning onto another street a few months ago. at the time didn't think much of it and maybe just a fluke but it makes sense now that I know there's a door handle recall.

The rear passenger door got stuck and did not open while we were inside. My son tried to open it and it was just stuck. The other 3 doors in the car opened fine.

Driver door locks cycles while driving. Sometimes door will open while car is moving.

The rear passenger door does not close properly. I first noticed this when I got home from the dealer the day I purchased it. I contacted them right away but the dealer said there was nothing they could do.

Optical Windshield Distortion The distortion is noticeable on the drivers and passenger sides of the windshield where it meets the vertical frames of the body. They are approximately 2-3 inches wide running the full vertical length. The distortion is clearly visible in full light, affecting peripheral vision of approaching vehicle movement or other passing external sources of glare day and night.

Since we purchased the vehicle in December, 2022, the doors have been unable to open on at least nine occasions, sometimes locking passengers in the vehicle, and sometimes locking passengers out of the vehicle. Using the remote key does not allow the doors to open, only making a clicking sound. As we approach the hot summer months, it is a safety risk to not be able to exit the vehicle.

Driver's door is malfunctioning: Randomly popped open while at a stoplight without being touched. won't open from the outside via the handle. Central locking function of the car is not working properly (doors don't lock while at speed like they normally do).

The drivers side door no longer opens from the outside of the Vehicle, I have to climb over the passenger seat to enter the car.

While the vehicle was in driving on the street, and when we stopped at the streetlight the vehicle went to parking mode, and the drivers door suddenly got opened.

In brief, the front passenger door unlocks and unlatches while the car is in motion. This happens frequently, unpredictably, whether the car is stationary, in reverse, forward or at various speeds. no warning or indication that the problem is happening, other than the door unlatching.

Rear passenger side door constantly locking and unlocking itself while vehicle is in motion and then opening itself while vehicle is in motion, going 30+ MPH when it is supposed to be locked closed.

While stopped at a red light, the passenger door opened unprompted & by itself twice. I tried to lock the door on the driver panel, however that seemed to not work as the light did not illuminate signaling the doors locked. When I began driving, the same door opened again by itself.
