BOUGHT THIS TRUCK USED WITH 8,000 MILES ON IT. IT CAME WITH A PLATINUM EXTENDED WARRANTY TRANSFERRED FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. AT 18,000 MILES THE SEAT WAS MOVING, POPPING AND FELT LIKE SPRINGS WERE POKING ME. SURE ENOUGH, THE SEAT FRAME HAD "WORN OUT". WAS REPLACED BY DEALER WITH FACTORY WARRANTY. 42,000 MILES THE SEAT ISSUE IS BACK, BUT DIFFERENT THIS TIME. THE SEAT ACTUALLY MOVES SIDE TO SIDE AND "CLUNKS" WHEN STOPPING AND GOING OR TURNING. DEALER SAYS THAT THIS MAY NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE PLATINUM WARRANTY. I WILL UPDATE THIS AFTER I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER THIS WEEK. IF I HAD WANTED A HUNK OF JUNK, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A DODGE! MY 2000 TUNDRA WAS BULLET PROOF. THIS ONE.. NOT SO MUCH. WE'LL FIND OUT HOW WELL TOYOTA WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.
SEAT RAIL LOOSE ON DRIVERS SIDE SEAT. SEAT IS BOLTED FIRMLY TO FLOOR BUT THE RAIL THAT IT SLIDES ON IS LOOSE. PROBLEM STARTED AT 30,000 MILES AND TRUCK HAS 40,000. TOYOTA WANT 1100.00 TO FIX THE SEAT BECAUSE ITS OUT OF WARRANTY. TOYOTA OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE RAIL AT 700.00 AND I PAY 300.00 FOR INSTALL. AS I RESEARCH THIS MODEL OF TUNDRA ON THE INTERNET, THIS ISSUE IS COMMON. THIS TRUCK IS UNSAFE WITH A LOOSE SEAT RAIL AND I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 30K MILES. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED!!!
