ONE WEEK AGO I GOT IN MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND WHEN I START DRIVING I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE EVERY TIME I TURN MY STREEING WHEEL . SO I TOOK MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE FOUND THAT MY FRONT STRUT MOUNT ON DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE IS DAMAGED . HE TOLD ME THAT THIS PART IS NOT SUPPOSED TO GO BAD AS YET ON MY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN, A GROWLING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIME TOYOTA ROUTE 2 (978-353-1700, LOCATED AT 700 OLD UNION TURNPIKE, LANCASTER, MA 01523) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000. *BF *JB
I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, YET ALTHOUGH THE SHIFT IS IN PARK,THE INDICATOR SAYS ITS IN REVERSE, THEN THE VAN STARTS ROLLING BACKWARDS. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND ITS LIKE THE VAN IS IN NEUTRAL, THE VAN STARTS ROLLING DOWN HILL.EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I ALMOST RAN OVER A CHILD BEHIND ME! I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE, I LATER SAW RECALL ON 2014 MODEL BUT 2011 MODEL HAS IDENTICAL PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE LIFT, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AXLE WAS LEAKING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR TO VEHICLE FRONT TIRES DETECTED AFTER 5,846 MILES. ALIGNMENT CHECKED BY DEALER. NEW FRONT TIRES WERE INSTALLED USING A 65,000 MILE RATED TIRE. AT 22,000 (16,000 MILES FROM TIME OF REPLACEMENT) EXCESSIVE WEAR (TO STEEL CORDS) NOTED TO NEW FRONT TIRES. MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THERE IS NO MECHANICAL/DESIGN DEFECT IN VEHICLE. EXCESSIVE AND PREMATURE TIRE WEAR IS CREATING POTENTIALLY UNSAFE DRIVING/OPERATING CONDITIONS. *TR
