Your windshield wipers are turning on by themselves without you activating them. This issue started recently and you suspect an electrical short is causing the problem. You recall seeing a Toyota recall notice about this exact issue, so you may want to contact a Toyota dealer to check if your vehicle is eligible for a free repair.

The wiper doesn’t operate fast enough in the fastest setting to move the rain from the drivers view in heavy rain. Driver is forced to reduce speed to 40 mph which is dangerous on an interstate. Also, the passenger side wiper pushes the water from 3/4 of the windshield into the drivers view. This is widely discussed on Toyota forums but no motor upgrade is offered that make the wipers move faster. Florida storms require faster settings to see vehicles and the roadway.

Vehicle sunroof exploded while driving home from work. The interior sunroof screen was 90% closed causing only a few pieces of glass to fall into the car striking myself while driving. When the incident occurred, it sounded like a shotgun going off over my head causing me to duck and swerve almost into another vehilce on the road. This is the second such incident involving this car and it happened on the exact same road within a half a mile of the previous incident 3 years earlier. No rocks or debris caused this. Possible elevation change due to going uphill on hwy. Insurance claim has been initiated. There were no warning signs of this.

CAR MANUFACTURER LIKE TOYOTA HAS AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM INSTALLED IN ALL OF THEIR VEHICLES SINCE 2017. IT CAUSES EXTREME DISCOMFORT FOR OTHER CAR DRIVERS ON THE HIGHWAY,ESPECIALLY THOSE DRIVING IN SAME DIRECTION. THE HIGH BEAM FROM THE CAR BEHIND REFLECTS ON THE DRIVER IN THE CAR WITH IN FRONT VIA THE SIDE MIRROR. THE PROBLEM IS EXACERBATED DUE TO WHITE LIGHTS ON THESE CARS. THE GLARE FROM THE CAR BEHIND IS SO MUCH, THAT EVENTUALLY I HAVE TO LOWER MY SIDE VIEW MIRROR SUCH THAT I CANNOT EVEN SEE THE CARS BEHIND. THIS IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY FREQUENT ISSUE ON THE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATE.
