Your rear wheel speed sensors may fail or stop communicating with your truck's computer, which disables multiple safety and convenience features including ABS, automatic emergency braking, 4-wheel drive, electronic stability control, and cruise control. In severe cases, your truck may become completely stuck — the engine won't shut off, you can't shift gears, and you can't drive — leaving you stranded with a running engine. The problem has been recurring frequently even after dealership repairs and replacement with updated sensors. Fixing this will likely require diagnosing and replacing the rear wheel speed sensors and possibly updating the truck's computer software.

Your rear wheel speed sensors may fail or stop communicating with your truck's computer, which disables your ABS, automatic emergency braking, four-wheel drive, stability control, and cruise control. In severe cases, your engine won't shut off, the truck won't shift gears, and you'll be stuck with a running engine unable to drive. Even after Stellantis replaced the sensors with an updated version, they may fail again within a very short distance, sometimes lasting less than 23 miles. Fixing this issue will involve replacing the rear wheel speed sensors and potentially reprogramming or diagnosing the communication system between the sensors and your truck's computer.

Your rear wheel speed sensors may fail or stop communicating with your truck's computer, which disables critical safety and drivetrain features like ABS, automatic emergency braking, 4-wheel drive, stability control, and cruise control. When this happens, your truck may become stuck with the engine running, unable to shift gears or shut off because the system can't detect the transmission position. Even after dealership repairs using updated sensors, the problem may return within just a few miles, leaving you immobilized on the road. The fix will involve replacing the rear wheel speed sensors and potentially updating your truck's computer software to properly communicate with them.

Your brand new truck is experiencing repeated failures of multiple safety systems while driving at highway speeds. When the problem occurs, your truck disables cruise control, traction control, adaptive cruise control, 4WD, and anti-lock brakes for 30-50 miles before the warnings disappear — though the check engine light remains. This has happened 10-12 times in under 500 miles. RAM has identified a faulty right rear wheel speed sensor as the cause, but the replacement part is currently on national backorder and not available for purchase. The dealership may need to replace the wheel speed sensor once it becomes available, or reprogram/replace related electrical components.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your truck randomly displays a warning that multiple safety and traction systems are disabled — including 4WD, anti-lock brakes, adaptive braking, collision sensors, and cruise control. This has happened 5 times total, and even after the dealership replaced the rear wheel speed sensors, the warning has appeared 2 more times in less than 200 miles. This is especially concerning for a truck designed to tow heavy trailers. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the electrical connection to the wheel speed sensors or addressing a deeper issue with the vehicle's brake and stability control module.

Your dashboard warning lights intermittently turn on while driving, which causes your ABS, stability control, 4WD, and automatic emergency braking to shut down. The lights may stay on for days or disappear after restarting, though a check engine light often remains. This issue has recurred unpredictably since the vehicle was new—sometimes after hundreds of miles of normal operation, sometimes within a hundred miles. Your dealer has replaced multiple sensors and reprogrammed the computer four times without resolving the problem. The fix will likely require further diagnostic testing to identify a faulty sensor, wiring issue, or computer module that's causing the false warnings.

Your 2025 Ram 3500 is experiencing intermittent failures of the anti-lock braking system along with other safety features including traction control, forward collision warning/assist, lane departure warning, and high beam headlights. The dealership has attempted multiple repairs without resolving the issue, which is particularly concerning during wet conditions, hard braking, or when towing a trailer. A complete electrical and brake system diagnostic will likely be needed to identify and repair the underlying cause affecting these interconnected safety systems.

Your truck's engine wouldn't shut off when you tried to turn it off—the dashboard showed 'not in park' and the PRND light flashed repeatedly. You had to remove a relay and disconnect the battery to stop the engine; after reconnecting, the truck started but multiple warning lights appeared on the dashboard. The dealer suspects a faulty rear speed sensor may be causing the transmission to not recognize the park position.

Your truck is subject to a recall affecting the trailer brake control system and trailer light wiring. RAM has halted sales on 450,000 trucks due to this issue, and dealerships are prioritizing fixing unsold inventory over customer vehicles, which may delay your repair by 3-6 months. Until this recall is addressed, you cannot safely tow your fifth-wheel trailer or take your planned trips. The fix will involve inspection and replacement of the trailer brake control module and wiring harness components.

Your 2025 Ram 3500 stalled twice while driving at highway speeds, with warning lights appearing both times. The first incident occurred at 60 MPH with no clear cause found even after the dealer replaced two batteries; the second happened at 50 MPH while towing a trailer and included loud engine noise before stalling, with a second dealer diagnosing a transmission failure. The transmission was not repaired, and these issues occurred around 9,000 miles.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2025 Ram 3500's brake lights and turn signals stopped working while driving, leaving you without rear signaling at night in a dark rural area. This is part of a safety recall (Campaign 26V059000), but your dealer says the replacement parts are unavailable because they're being allocated to unsold vehicles first, and the parts cannot be manually ordered. You felt unsafe driving the truck in this condition. Getting the lights working will likely require replacing the failed lighting components or their wiring once parts become available.

Filed: Feb 2026

While driving at low speeds without towing, your truck's trailer brake system stopped working and a service warning appeared on the dashboard. The dealership replaced the trailer brake gain adjustment switch, but the same warning message has come back several times since the repair. If you had been towing a trailer when this happened, you would have had no brakes on the trailer, which is a serious safety concern.

highEXTERIOR LIGHTING
Filed: Feb 2026

Your truck's exterior lighting has a known recall issue (26V-059), but your dealer can only get one replacement unit per week, so repairs could take weeks to complete. Since you frequently use your truck for towing, you're concerned about safety while waiting for the recall repair. The fix will involve replacing the faulty lighting component once parts become available.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your instrument cluster stopped working after starting the vehicle, continuing to show a 'Press Brake and Press Button to Start' message even though the engine was running. All gauges, warning lights, and vehicle information displays were inoperative, leaving you unable to see speed, RPM, or warning alerts — though the vehicle could still be driven and turn signals worked. The problem intermittently resolved itself after the vehicle sat for a while. Additionally, your truck has an electrical issue with the trailer lighting connector that caused the connection to smoke when a diagnostic tester was attached, indicating a defect in the trailer wiring system. The dealership has identified the need for replacement components to resolve both the instrument cluster software issue and the faulty trailer electrical connector.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your truck's trailer running lights stopped working shortly after the dealership replaced the integrated trailer control module. Even though technicians tested the 7-way trailer connector and found 12V power present, the running lights still won't function, and the dealership couldn't reproduce the issue during diagnostic testing. This is a safety concern for towing, especially since you use the truck for business. The fix may require replacement of the trailer control module, wiring harness, brake controller, or the entire trailer tow system.

Filed: Oct 2025

Your seat belt reminder system isn't working for the front passenger, rear passenger, and driver's side seats. When you took your truck to the dealer, they discovered that Ram only designed the seat belt reminder to work for the driver's seat, and the manufacturer confirmed the vehicle is operating as intended. This means you won't get warning lights or chimes reminding passengers to buckle up.
