Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Ram 2500, 3500 and 3500 Cab Chassis trucks. The brake calipers may have been manufactured with an incorrect assembly fluid, which can cause the caliper's rubber seals to swell.

Fix: FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake calipers and brake hoses and bleed the brakes, free of charge. The recall began October 24, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US' number for this recall is V98.

Your brake pedal feels soft and spongy with excessive travel distance, and you need to pump the pedal multiple times to restore braking pressure. A dealer technician confirmed the low pedal condition. This issue likely involves air in the brake lines or a problem with the brake fluid system that will require bleeding the brakes or inspecting for fluid leaks.

MY 2019 RAM 2500 LIMITED HAS THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM, HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION AS SOLD OR INTENDED. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESOLVED THE ISSUE, HOWEVER NEITHER THE DEALERSHIPS NOR FCA HAS ANY IDEA HOW TO RESOLVE. FCA CUSTOMER SERVICE BELIEVES IT MAY BE SOFTWARE RELATED, BUT CURRENTLY HAS NO IDEA WHEN/IF A SOLUTION WILL ARISE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE SENSORS DO NOT SEEM TO FUNCTION AT ALL, AND THE VEHICLE ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT PREVENT A FORWARD COLLISION IF REQUIRED. ALL ADVERTISING AND OWNER'S MANUAL DOCUMENTATION STATE THE VEHICLE CAN AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO PREVENT A FORWARD COLLISION, AND I BELIEVE THIS MISREPRESENTATION COULD PROVE HAZARDOUS TO BOTH VEHICLE OWNERS AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD IF THE SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED ON BOTH THE INTERNET WEBSITE FOR RAM TRUCKS, OR THE OWNER'S MANUAL PROVIDED WITH THESE VEHICLES.
