2016 Ram 1500 Transmission Problems

The Dealer did not complete this Safety Recall, They refused to follow up with the repair description of 73A which is part of this 66A they both have the same NHSTA Number. The vehicle seems to be more difficult to drive after getting it back from the dealer. I also noticed new cosmetic damages, and a missing cover under the fender-well.

Nothing happened, yet. The magnetic material attached to the reluctor wheel provides a signal to the crankshaft position sensor. If this signal material is lost, the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulses and cam timing.

there was a recall issued june 2022 and there are still no parts avaiable to repair it. how long in the NHTSA's opinion is a timely manner for repair of a condition that states "may cause a vehicle to crash"? I have a truck that's been sitting, dangerous to drive for 8 months.

Traveling at hwy speeds the vehicle lurched as if the brakes were suddenly slammed on then removed. Speed was reduced to 60 MPH, no sounds or vibrations noticed so began accelerating back to hwy speeds. RPM kept building but speed was not increasing as normal.

The service electronic throttle control keeps coming on despite efforts to correct. The sensor was cleaned but the throttle control warning light continues to come on. The vehicle emissions are too high and impacting the power train.

While traveling at highway speeds on a narrow parkway with minimal shoulders, the vehicle without warning or noise shut down, almost causing a major accident and I wouldn't have been able to get to the shoulder if I wasn't in the right lane. The shoulder barely had room for my truck putting myself and other vehicles at risk.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V821000 (Power Train) performed however, the repair did not correct the failure. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, the vehicle rolled away and crashed into a tree.

On october 24, 2019 NHTSA issued campaign no.19v757000, to address the ram 1500 ecodiesel egr cooler may crack and cause fire. I own one of the recalled vehicles and thought prompt action would be taken by the manufacturer. I was initially told there was a delay manufacturing and shipping the parts.

I was driving on I 90 in indiana. It was raining and the road was straight. The service ABS light came on.

I was driving at highway speed and lost all power, noticed some steam/smoke coming from under the hood, opened the hood and saw flames. I did not have an extinguisher so I called 911. Vehicle is a total loss.

While driving home, I noticed some noise that ounde like a turbo noise and loos of power. I pulled over immediately shut off engine and poped hood. Looke up and smoke from engine.

In order to register my vehicle in california I was forced to accept the v08 emissions recall. After this recall, I have noticed substantial lag between depressing the accelerator and between when the vehicle accelerates. I was told there would be no change in performance by both the dealer and fca.

2 major issues: a- since vehicle got computer system updated for the emissions lawsuit - vehicle has lost 70% power at take off. Meaning, I currently have a very high risk of getting t-boned at intersections because the vehicle doesn't take off. I currently have a claim open with chrysler but their case manager claims that parts to fix the issue is currently not available.

After complying with the v08 (aem) software update due to the ram ecodiesel emissions update my driving experience/performance has changed dramatically. During acceleration their has been anywhere from 3-6 delay seconds before adequate power and speed can be felt. This is at a full stop such as a stop sin or red traffic light.

Did the new ecodiesel update and now truck lags during acceleration. Takes a second or 2 to take off. Also with the egr cooler recall I'm losing coolant can possibly cause a fire.

On 9/20 I received from fca dealer the recall update agreed to upon settlement with the epa. While driving on 9/21 I was at a stop and needed to changed lanes. When I depressed the accelerator the engine stalled and barely moved the vehicle for a couple of seconds before picking up and moving normally.

Since an emissions recall my truck has had a dangerous amount of dead pedal lag when. First starting to drive. The first 5-10 minutes of every drive create a dangerous situation where I am consistently worried about causing an accident because my truck does not operate like a normal vehicle, or as it did before the recall happened.

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK 22 AUGUST 2019, AN 8 MILE DRIVE. I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO REACH POSTED SPEED LIMIT AFTER TURNING OFF OF A SIDE STREET ONTO MAIN ROAD. I HAD NO FORWARD MOMENTUM WHEN I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO MANUALLY SHIFT GEARS THINKING IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP TO RPM BUT STILL BARELY ANY FORWARD MOMENTUM. I WAS LOSING SPEED QUICKLY. SOMETHING GRABBED MY ATTENTION, NOT SURE IF I HEARD SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY BUT I HAPPENED TO LOOK OUT MY REVIEW AND SIDE MIRRORS AND NOTICE A HUGE PLUME OF SMOKE EXITING MY VEHICLE. AT ABOUT THAT SAME MOMENT, I NOTICED A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF, I STILL NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF WHITE SMOKE BILLOWING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND FRONT WHEEL WELLS. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT TO BE A COOLANT HOSE RUPTURE DUE TO THE COLOR OF THE SMOKE/STEAM. I IMMEDIATELY JUMPED OUT AND OPENED THE HOOD THINKING IT WAS A COOLANT ISSUE. RIGHT AWAY I NOTICED A FLAME AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE. I HAD NO ACCESS TO WATER WHERE I WAS LOCATED AND MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO BLOW IT OUT. IT WORKED FOR ME BUT PROBABLY ONLY BECAUSE I HAD GOT TO THE FIRE BEFORE IT WAS ABLE TO SPREAD TOO QUICK. FIRE/RESCUE WAS DISPATCHED, REMOVED ENGINE COVER AND NOTICED SMOLDERING PLASTIC/WIRE HARNESS AND DOUSED WITH 4-5 CUPS OF WATER UNTIL ALL TRACES OF FIRE WERE GONE. TOW TRUCK DELIVERED VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP APPROX 10 MILES FROM WHERE VEHICLE WAS DISABLED. *DT *TR

Ram ecodiesel recall. My post aem emissions flash has created a significantly impaired vehicle with unpredicatable acccelleration and engine response. I am the original owner and the vehicle became imparied after the epa/doj forced recall for emmissions control tampering.

Emission recall(ecm reprogram) vehicle now has a severe unpredictable lack of throttle response since recall was performed, fca nor dealer has any idea when this will be fixed. When pulling out into traffic at higher ambient temps, the vehicle often fails to respond to the throttle until about 3/4 throttle. Then it suddenly responds as if it is at full throttle.

Received the v08 recall update. Was told this update would not affect the performance, drivability, efficiency nor safety of the vehicle. This is completely untrue!!

Received a recall to install aem computer update. Since the update I have been experiencing acceleration delays from a stop there is a 3-5 sec delay in acceleration. This is a safety hazard trying to merge I had to pull to the side of the road a # of times to avoid a rear end accident.

Purchase new at dealer, problem with forward movements after full stop. Take to dealer and was told to wait, transmission would learn. No improvements, take to dealer again ,they redo software and advice to drive minimum 700 miles.

Total engine failure. Chrysler in process of replacing engine that was repaired at 1oi miles for the same problem. Transmission has stuck in either 3rd or 5th gear and would not downshift or upshift - second time the transmission has done this.

Transmission shifting knob periodically will not allow vehicle to obtain a gear and moving the vehicle is impossible until multiple attempts to engage a forward or reverse gear is successful. This has occurred a number of time and the last time I was making a u turn on a narrow dirt road when in the middle of the road I could not obtain any gear.

Aem reflash as required by the fca emissions recall #v08 has caused the truck to accelerate very slowly, causing numerous near misses when crossing and turning past oncoming traffic. Dealership reports all recalled customers are reporting the same issues.

After having the emission recall competed on my 2016 ram 1500 ecodiesel I am experiencing major power loss in certain operating conditions. This condition includes reduced throttle response when accelerating from a stop after cold starting. I will start my truck and drive 2 block to a 50 MPH highway.

ABS unit failed. This renders the Traction control system, ABS braking, cruise control, and 4WD system inert. I tried to repair/replace the unit it is on indefinite backorder, and repair shops cannot get the parts to fix the actual unit.

The ABS control module and pump failed. ABS Light, Traction / Stabilitrak light / Brake Light on Vehicle was diagnosed by the dealership Dec 16, 2022 was given quote to repair but the parts were not available and back ordered.

Went to start my truck and it wouldnt start. Connected a jumper box to it to start it and started right up. Check engine light came on and showed "Code P1DF3".

Brake Warning light on, ABS light on, traction control light on, cruse control disabled, 4 wheel drive disabled. Appears to be same issue as NHTSA Recall Number24V-896 but on 2016 Dodge Ram 1500.

Since buying our 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, we have had nothing but problems. In 2020 there was an EGR/coolant leak that was supposedly done. Upon getting the recall done, they said that the manufacturer has not yet made any equipment to fix the issue.

Husbands car started making a ticking noise and was loosing power while driving, so we brought it into the dealership. It will be $5796.58 to fix the rocker arms and camshaft. The estimate is for rocker arm roller failed damaging the camshaft.

This vehicle has had an open recall (22V-406) open since June 2022, Dodge Ram still hasn't provided enough parts to the dealers to fix this recall. The parts have been on back order for two years. Considering this vehicle is registered in California, soon this will lead to us not being able to renew our vehicle registration.

I have a 2016 RAM 1500. At 50k miles, the ABS light and the brake light came on. The message states “service ABS braking system”.

While driving through mountainous terrain, my truck became unable to change gears and illuminated a check engine light and an electronic throttle control warning. I was able to limp it home to the dealership for repairs where they identified that the crankshaft tonewheel had delaminated. This exact issue is addressed in recall W68/NHTSA 20V-475 by FCA with the verbiage: "The magnetic material attached to the tone wheel on your vehicle provides a signal to the crankshaft position sensor. If this signal material is lost, the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulses and cam timing. This loss of crankshaft position can result in an engine stall, as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine. A loss of motive power can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning." Incredulously, FCA will not reimburse me for the cost of the repairs because they did not include my VIN in their W68 recall announcement. The exact part failed in the exact manner outlined in this recall, but their method to avoid liability is to simply say my VIN wasn't affected by the manufacturing defect--which it obviously was. Instead, they included my affected VIN in their W58 recall--which like a safe driver I complied with immediately--that only consisted of a software flash and an extended mileage/time warranty on the part (should it fail), that of course failed within 2 months of the warranty period expiring. I cannot understand how NHTSA would allow FCA to exclude VINs from W68 that were clearly affected by this very same manufacturing defect, and instead loop in clearly affected VINs in a simple software flash with a limited extended warranty. I ask that NHTSA please hold FCA accountable for this manufacturing defect and correctly cover ALL affected VINs with recall W68/NHTSA 20V-475.

While driving at 70 MPH down I-90 in upstate New York, during rush hour traffic, my 2016 Ram 1500 eco diesel lost power (engine stopped). The truck lost power, including a loss in power steering. I was able to navigate the truck to the side of the road and a state trooper pull behind me while waiting for the tow truck. The truck would not start after this. There was no advanced warning for this failure. There were no warning lights, and before the engine stall, the truck was driving and behaving as it should. The truck was towed to a mechanic off the highway and later towed to Castilone Dodge in Batavia NY. The dealer found the magnetic perimeter of the tone wheel was flaking, which caused an issue with the driveshaft sensor, causing the truck to stall. Castilone found there is an existing recall on this for 2014-2019 RAM eco diesel trucks. The recall is for "Risk of delamination of crankshaft position sensor tone wheels". However, upon looking into this and calling RAM directly, RAM stated the recall only affects some VINs, and mine was not included. I spoke to two different people at RAM, who reiterated this. RAM claims that my truck received a good tone wheel, which was not included in the recall, and because of this, they refused to cover the repair and towing bill. The truck was taken to West Herr RAM in Lockport, NY, where they replaced the tone wheel for $1,760.65. I find it curious, that my truck experienced the same issue that was covered under recall warranty for other 2014-2018 RAM EcoDiesels. But my truck VIN was not captured in the recall. I asked RAM to investigate whether there are additional VINs that should be captured under the recall. They refused to escalate my request or do any additional research. I'm asking for help form the NHTSA to hold RAM accountable to at least determine if this issue impacts additional trucks.

2016 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L 4x4 6 speed. Transmission failed at 149000 kms. Highly maintained police fleet vehicle. Never towed any weights. Transmission failed . Both 4th and 5th gear + O/D clutch are bad.

I've been trying for over three years to obtain a repair for severe lag in acceleration in my 2016 Dodge Ram Eco Diesel. It's a critical safety hazard. A recall was issued June 2022, but Dodge continues to say a remedy is not available.

On April 29, 2022 while driving 75mph pulling a trailer my truck (Ram 1500 3.0L Ecodiesel) lost full power and electrical. When taken to the dealership for repair, they found that the crank shaft position sensor tone ring attached to the flywheel had become delaminated and caused the entire truck to shut down. When I inquired about a separate recall NHTSA Recall No.

There is an open recall for certain VIN#'s 20v-475 that happened to my vehicle and according to message boards a lot of other vehicles that have the failure of the tone wheel to the exact way the recall is listed but for some reason the VIN does't fall under the recall.

The first sign of a problem was when my touch screen radio would randomly shut off and then turn back on again. As it would get hotter it would happen more often. Then the turn signals would have trouble flickering.

Broken exhaust manifold bolts which cause an exhaust leak between the engine block and the exhaust manifold.

I took the vehicle to the local dealer and they diagnosed a Delaminated Tone Wheel, the same exact issue as described in Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475. The claim that my vehicle is not included in the recall.

When traveling at speed, the vehicle shudders or bucks as if the engine cuts out briefly, then resumes normally for a few seconds, then does it again. It creates a hazard on the highway as I attempt to move to the side of the road or travel slowly to avoid damaging the vehicle further.

Was pulling in to a parking lot when the vehicle made a warning sound and then displayed "Check Engine" and "Service Shifter" messages on dash. The truck then would not shift in to any other gear but drive. it displayed that it was in park but stayed in gear and almost caused me to drive in to a pedestrian.

On August 28, 2021, I was driving towards Huntsville, TX, on Hwy 30, a rural divided highway with two lanes in each direction. The speed limit is 70. The truck was empty except for me, and a few tools.

I took my truck into a dealer because the exhaust system wouldn't clean itself. I found out there were recalls pertaining to this and they were handled as far as I knew. However, just a few weeks later as I was pulling into my driveway at home I noticed smoke barreling out from under the hood.

P026ab error code for 3 way coolant bypass valve causing check engine light to be on all the time. Mechanic says won't cause harm to vehicle, but might effect ability to defrost properly. Research suggests this is a common problem in this year range and has been a safety recall in previous years for models older than this.

Transmission shifts very abruptly, sometimes violently, while driving. There is also a jolt when coming to a complete stop, during the transmission shift from 2nd to 1st gear.

After an emissions update was made to my vehicle without my permission on june 4, 2019, the throttle is unresponsive, the diesel exhaust regenertion system no longer functions and my fue economy has dropped over 10 MPG. It is out-of-service and undriveable. It has been at the dealership 4 times over the last 4 months, and has been there since august 1, 2019.

After a recall to update emissions software, the truck experiences unpredictable and inconsistent throttle response. This happens about once per week, when the engine is at full operating temp. The accelerator pedal is pressed, but the engine does not accelerate for 4 seconds.

After recall for the diesel engine emissions class action lawsuit, the truck is very sluggish when cold, sometimes takings 3-5 seconds to respond to throttle input. Fuel economy reduced. Truck feels lazy until it warms up completely.

I own a 2016 ecodiesel ram 1500, and ever since I completed the required engine software update mandated by fca due to the class action lawsuit, I have noticed a significant delay in acceleration during conditions where the engine is not fully warmed up and sometime at normal conditions when the vehicle is pulling from a stop through an intersection. These delays can be as long as 3 to 5 seconds!!

I own a 2016 ram 1500 eco diesel. I recently got a recall (v08 I believe) that greatly effected the throttle response and fuel mileage on my truck. I love on a bend on a state highway and it has become very dangerous for me to pull out of my driveway.

V08 AEM RECALL PERFORMED ON 6/4/19. POST RECALL, LOSS IN FUEL ECONOMY, REDUCED POWER ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING, AND SEVERE TURBO LAG LASTING FOUR TO SEVEN SECONDS. THE SEVERE TURBO LAG IS CAUSING UNSAFE CONDITIONS WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. THE LACK OF ACCELERATION WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED IS PRESENT WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, AS WELL AS AT VARYING TRAVEL SPEEDS. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS ON CITY STREETS OR WHEN MERGING INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE, EVEN UNDER FULL THROTTLE FOR BETWEEN FOUR AND SEVEN SECONDS. THE LAG IS SEVERE EVEN AT FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURES ABOVE 200 DEGREES. THESE ISSUES WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE V08/AEM RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAS INSISTED THAT THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE V08 AEM RECALL, BUT THE VEHICLE OPERATED WITHOUT THESE ISSUES BEFORE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED.

THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP, I PURCHASED IT CERTIFIED USED FROM A RAM DEALER WITH 30K ON IT. IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE BUT WHEN IT IS COLD AND OUT OF THE BLUE IT HAS COMPLETE DEAD PEDAL. THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE, IT HAS ALMOST NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AND IT NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL ITS WARM I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES, EVEN A SLOW UNDER POWERED MOPED WOULD SCOOT FASTER THAN THIS TRUCK WHEN ITS NOT UP TO OPERATING TEMP. THIS HAS ALL TAKEN PLACE AFTER THE EMISSIONS UPDATE DONE TO THE TRUCK BEFORE PREDELIVERY. I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS GOING TO DRIVE LIKE THIS I HAVE BANNED FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM DRIVING IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT DRIVES AS IT SHOULD "POST UPDATE" THE LACK OF PEDAL RESPONSE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES, DEALER SAYS ITS FINE AND HAS AN PERFECT MAINTENANCE HISTORY. TODAY IT WAS A BIT COOLER OUTSIDE THAN IT HAS BEEN IN RECENT MONTHS, KNOWING THE TRUCKS CHARACTERISTICS I USED REMOTE START TO WARM IT UP. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE I LEFT, I DROVE DOWN ABOUT A 1000FT PRIVATE ROAD TO A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY THAT I PULL OUT ONTO SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND HAVE BEEN FOR TWO DECADES. NO CARS WERE COMING EXCEPT A WHITE MAZDA ABOUT TWO FIRELANES AWAY FROM ME SO MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM, I COULD HAVE WALKED ACROSS THE ROAD. I PRESSED THE PEDAL AND THH TRUCK FELL ON ITS FACE AND TOPPED OUT AT 10 MPH UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE CENTER MEDIAN TO COMPLETE MY LEFT TURN. THE VEHICLE HAS TO MOVE INTO THE RIGHT LANE TO AVOID HITTING ME, THEY WERE BEING ABUNDANTLY CAUTIOUS BUT THIS IS NOT HOW A VEHICLE SHOULD RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUT DURING WARM UP OR NOT. IT IS A DIESEL AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THEM MY WHOLE LIFE, I KNOW THEIR COLD BEHAVIOR AND THIS VEHICLE IS BROKEN. FCA SAYS ITS NORMAL.

AFTER AEM EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS UPDATE THE TRUCK AT 57,920 HAS POOR ACCELERATION FROM A START. IT DOESN'T GET OUT OF ITS ON WAY. MILEAGE DROPPED 4 MPG. HAS POOR ACCELERATION UP HILLS. THIS UPDATE CLAIMED TO NOT ALTER THE WAY THE VEHICLE DRIVES AND THAT IS NOT THE CASE. THIS IS NOT THE TRUCK THAT I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT. I HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE OF THE POOR ACCELERATION FROM A STOP "TURBO LAG" THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

AFTER AN EMISSIONS RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON ECO DIESEL ENGINE (ECM UPDATE) THE ENGINE HAS BECOME TERRIBLY SLUGGISH ON INITIAL TAKEOFF. I CAN PUSH THE GAS PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THERE IS INCONSISTENT ENGINE PERFORMANCE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A RECENT ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT THAT REQUIRED A RECALL AND RE-FLASH OF THE VEHICLES ECM. FCA STATED THAT THE RECALL RE-FLASH WOULD NOT AFFECT THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE. THAT IS NOT THE CASH. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS A SEVERE THROTTLE HESITATION WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. PULLING INTO OR MERGING INTO EXISTING TRAFFIC HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS CONDITION SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED.

2016 ram 1500 4WD shakes at highway speeds of 60+ MPH. Started happening after about 30,000 miles and the truck now has 75000. There have been many posts/blogs online about this issue.

With engine running in my driveway. I put it he truck in park got out of the vehicle and the vehicle started moving forward, running into my garage door I took it to the dealer. The dealer said they saw a problem and would not release the truck until chrysler investigate it.

At approximately 4700 miles the vehicle began to harshly shift from 2nd gear to 1st gear when slowing to a stop, in slow moving traffic or pulling in to a parking space. The vehicle will lunge forward when this occurs feeling as the vehicle was tapped from behind.

Time - 5pm on 11/25/2016 the vehicle was driven 50 ft around the corner of the building into a parking lot on flat ground, brought to a complete stop pointed in the direction of a slight incline, the dial shifter was then turned to the left to select park at which time the driver exited the vehicle.

The vehicle suddenly started performing very erratically on highway. After inspection the camshaft and lifters are very damaged and the engine is constantly misfiring. I have performed regular routine maintenance on this vehicle its whole life.

There was a recall on my 2016, dodge ram eco-diesel for the crankshaft position sensor and tone wheel. I have tried to deal with the manufacture they said this is not in effect anymore, and my vehicle was not in it. I do not understand they recalled certain plants that made certain vehicles.

Front differential housing, passenger side half shaft fractured

After diesel emission modification transmission shifts very rough and jumps vehicle when cold. It sends wheels into spinout when entering roads which can be dangerous. Fuel economy also fell from average of 23-24mpg to below 21mpg.

Towing small utility trailer with 1,150 lbs load at interstate speeds. Without warning left (driver) rear axle seal failed. Gear oil coated brakes and began smoking.

When you stop and put it in park and you put it in drive(like in a restaurant driveway) a message comes on the dash saying the vehicle is not in park and will not move. I have to turn it off and wait for about a minute to try again.

Vehicle jumps when coming to a stop. Almost pushes the car before it is stopped. No towing, or high speed.

Epa mandated aem was performed in may of 2019. Since that time my truck has had dangerously slow throttle response. You can count to 5 after pressing the accelerator before the truck starts moving at an acceptable speed for pulling out into traffic.

Extreme lag on acceleration from a dead stop. Extreme lag on freeway while trying to pass or merge. Post the aem emissions recall.

Dangerous lag in throttle response in emergency situations.. Delay in throttle response is greater than 4 seconds in all attemps at acceleration.

V08 recall flash has made my truck more dangerous to drive. There is an extreme amount of lag from the engine and turbo while trying to accelerate. I am the second owner, bought on 7/24/19 and the truck has been in the shop twice already!

After having the vo8 aem done to my truck, the performance has dropped. The lack of acceleration when pulling out into traffic is scary at times. If you even so much as roll a stop the truck seems to be stuck in 3rd gear and very slow to accelerate.

Very poor acceleration when cold or warm. Significant drop in power and fuel mileage. All of these things happened after the v08 update

When depressing the accelerator pedal from a dead stop the vehicle has an extremely slow response time. After a few seconds the vehicle lurches forward and accelerates. This was not an issue until after the emissions recall was conducted on the vehicle.

I had the aem (approved emissions modification) done on my 2016 ram 1500 3.0 ecodiesel on 07/02/2019. When I picked up the truck I asked if there were any issues with anyone that has had this performed. I was told by the tech he has not aware of any issues with this being done and the only thing he has heard is an improvement of MPG.

After receiving the emissions recall update v08 on my ram ecodiesel it now has a lag when pressing the gas pedal that has nearly resulted in me being hit by other drivers because the truck will not accelerate properly. This is most noticeable when at a stop and making a left hand turn.

After having the aem recall done truck has lack of power. When accelerating from stop truck does not take off right away. Gets a little better when warmed up but still very sluggish.

Sometime when switch transmission control to reverse and drive and park it seems to go into neutral and will roll back or forward I have to turn the knob back and forth a few time then seems to go into place not sure if that has anything to do with that recall for rollaway or not nhtsa17v821000. I've been setting my enrage ever time I park due to worry about that.

Truck rolled away while in driveway while in park with e-brake on.

Our truck was in park with the brake on on our driveway which is a hill and it rolled backwards t2 different times without anybody in it.

After putting truck into reverse then putting in back into forward gear the truck will not recognize the fact it is suppose to go forward. Not in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. This has happened to us twice.

Vehicle was pointed downhill on a concrete driveway with a trailer attached which weighed approximately 1200 pounds. The vehicle's transmission was in park, the parking brake applied and the engine off. A wheel chock was placed in front (downhill side) of the drivers rear wheel.

My vehicle rolled away while in park with the engine running. The temperature was 35 degrees and it was just started and moved in the driveway. The vehicle would not go back into drive or park.

2016 dodge ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to issues with rotary shifter. *ld the consumer stated the vehicle inadvertently shifted into reverse while the consume was exiting the vehicle.

My wife and I were shopping at our local target .when I got back into my truck I was backing up and thought I had hit a shopping cart. I pulled truck back half way into the parking spot to see what happened .I put truck in park. Got half way out of the truck before realizing it popped out of park.

The transmission knob shifted from park (p) to drive (d) while the engine was running and nobody was in the truck. The truck moved forward including towing a rv trailer and drove across the road smashing into a tent trailer. The truck had driven 500 miles non stop that day.

Put truck in park. Left the motor running. Got out went into shop came back out a couple of minutes later and truck had rolled backwards and struck a telephone pole.

Has shifted to soon since I bought it new with 7 miles on it . I have to shift it to 8 th gear unless I'm on the high way.

Placed vehicle in park as it sat in parking space beside the garage, with drivers side door close to exterior wall. Vehicle was running at the time. I was exiting vehical when it began to move forward.

While servicing a customers 2016 ram 1500 pick up pulled truck up to door,placed knob shifter in to park, got out and walked up beside truck as I got to l/f wheel truck started to move forward turned around to get back in truck showed to be in drive. Truck proceded to roll through door and came to a stop. No wan was injured damage was limated to truck and door.

The truck was put into park with the key in the ignition and the engine running. It was parked in a restaurant parking lot. Then around five minutes later, it went into reverse and began rolling backwards.

We have the knob shifter and when he stopped he put it in park (left engine running) he walked behind truck and into store and picked out what he needed and then while he was paying the teller noticed his trucked started moving in reverse so my son ran out to get in truck to stop it but was to late it his a pole which and shattered the window of gas station, I reported it to fca and they inspected it and said no problem but I have video and witness that states it was a couple minutes before it started moving.

The transmission shift knob has failed to keep vehicle in park on at least two occasions. In addition, it is placed too close to the a/c fan control knob. On the first occasion, I placed the vehicle in park from drive, and as I removed my foot from the brake after it was in park, the transmission moved back to drive.

Thought it was in park, rolled away.

While vehicle was idling in park it began to roll backwards down my driveway with my wife in passenger seat. I had to run after it and as soon as I opened driver door it came to a full stop. Vehicle was in 4 wheel drive mode at the time.

My truck rolled back about 6 ft in my drive way while it was parked about 20 minutes after getting out the truck. I moved the truck back and about 20 minutes later it rolled back 4 ft. I then moved it again and put the parking break on with no movement my driveway has a small incline around 3-4%.

I had received this dodge ram as a rental while my truck was getting body work done. Before I picked up my son at school I stopped at my house to empty out some work tools to make room for him. I put the truck in park with the rotary dial on a slight incline on my laneway I shut the truck off and walked towards my front door.

On july 29, 2016, I backed the truck out of the garage and placed the rotary shift knob in park. I stepped out of the vehicle with the engine running to grab something out of the garage. As I stepped pout the vehicle start moving forward at idle speed.

While truck is placed in park it began to roll back while on hill. This has occurred multiple times. Parking break is not always strong enough to hold wight of truck on incline.

On dec 22 I pulled up to my fianc's school put the 2016 ram 1500 in park my foot was still on the break. I took my seatbelt off and so did my fianc. Took my foot of the break and the truck went forward.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. When the contact placed the vehicle in park, it reversed independently and struck a pole without warning. The air bags did not deploy.

Vehicle has rolled out of my driveway about 8 feet from its original location when parked. Vehicle was placed into park. Vehicle was not running, emergency brake was not set.

It seems that my truck rolled down the drive way when it was parked and the rotary shifter was in "p" position. I parked it saturday night (12/17/2016) and found it sunday morning against the garage. The truck rolled against the garage door post.

On dec 5th 2016 I was backing out of my driveway and forgot the trash can was behind the truck got out my 2016 dodge ram that has 4700 miles to move the trash can from behind my truck. Thought I had it in park and it rolled forward into the garage door. Before it pushed completely in to touch the other car I got the truck stopped.

Twice I had the truck roll backwards when in park and parked on a steep driveway. Both times the truck was turned off. Both times the truck rolled backwards about ten feet until I applied the brakes.

Shifter comin out of park causing extensive damage to vehicle and my garage plus bodily injury

When removing foot from accelerator, vehicle stays at 1450 rpms, causing the vehicle to go 10-15 miles per hour. It is unsafe for my wife or daughter to drive. After two service visits, I am told that it is normal.
