2016 Ram 1500 Cruise Control Problems

ABS control module failed while driving. This also took out cruise control and electronic stability. This can cause brakes to lock up and/or a loss of control in inclement weather.

Same issue as NHTSA is investigating on RAM 2500 is occuring on RAM1500 frequently. ABS computer failure. Warning lights on for ABS, ESC and parking brake.

On july 5th, 2019 I was driving down I-95 from beaufort sc to jacksonville, nc going 75mph. I had been using my cruise control for about an hour and traffic was pretty busy but I was still able to maintain a safe distance and continue using my cruise control. As it often does in the carolinas, it began to light rain so I attempted to slow down my speed.

After the new update that was forced on the eco diesels owners, I have had problems with accelerating after starting up and taking off. We have almost been in an accident due to this lag in acceleration. It gets a little better as it warms up but not much better.

"eco diesel emissions update," upon having my truck ecm flashed with the court settlement emission update, I have observed severe power loss. To the point of 4-5 seconds of delay when initially pulling out in to traffic on any road or highway. Very sluggish and has almost caused me to have an accident .

My cruise control was engaged as I was going down a mountain approaching a sharp turn when I hit the brakes the petal went to the floor and the truck accelerated. I went into the woods where I hit numerous trees and totaled the vehicle. What can be done about this

The ABS module failed on my truck and was replaced using an OEM part. The newly installed module worked for a few months, but failed. Upon failure the speed control failed, the ABS light came on and the truck was stuck in the middle of the street where I tried to restart the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while approaching a traffic light and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated.

After having the approved emissions modification installed my truck became dangerously sluggish from a dead stop. After pressing accelerator pedal pulling into traffic truck is moving approx. 4 MPH where there is a 3 to 4 second delay in acceleration leaving me vulnerable to oncoming traffic.

Had the recall v08 done and now my truck lags power and takes forever to accelerate when turning into traffic. It seems to be worse when it is colder. It also has lost power when I'm towing.

cruise control difficult to set sometimes. When set, cancel button does not shut cruise control off.Truck continues to keep speed rate going. This has been a continual problem from purchase.

Traction control light, brake light and ABS light all on. Has been burning my 3rd light bulb and dash speedometer goes blank sometimes when driving. Also feels like brakes are engaged while driving sometimes.

ABC Control Module - The warning lights that are on in the Dashboard are the ABS Light, Traction Control Light and the Brake Light. When these lights came on, I took it to the Ram Dealership, and they told me that it was the ABS Control Module that was bad and needed replaced. The lights stay on all of the time, so I do not have any ABS Braking, Tractor Control or Cruise Control.

Warning lights are on for , service trailer brake system, service braking system and service anti-lock brake system. Was advised by independent mechanic that the ABS module needs to be replaced, and this part has been unavailable for over 8 months. Contacted dealer and they also advised part is unavailable and they did not know when it would be available.

The ABS electronic module has failed. The replacement part from the dealership has/is on “Engineering Hold “ since November, extended to December 19, then extended to January 17, and now extended to February 19th. The ABS modules for Dodge Ram trucks from 2017 onwards are on recall.

the ABS module brake setstem has not been working properly for about 9 to 10 months. when I call to see if dealership they keep telling that their engineers are still working on the problem. the problem can go out anytime.

Electronic braking system, traction control system and cruise control are non-operational. This problem affects all vehicles travelling on the road with me. The problem has been confirmed and diagnosed by a dealer.

Been inspected by the dealer. ABS modules as with many other owners cannot be replaced due to a lack of inventory on a vehicle less than 10 years old. ABS and traction control lights stay on as well as having the brakes locking up during wet conditions.

Vehicle ABS system, brake, and towing problem warning lights are on as well as loss of cruise control. I started noticing my cruise control not functioning properly about a month or two prior to total failure. The local RAM dealer in Live Oak, FL. verified problem and admitted this has been an ongoing issue. Replacement parts are not available with a tentative availability date in March. In my research I have found these estimates of part availability to be hopeful guesses. In the meantime I am not able to tow my travel trailer or utility trailer due to this unsafe condition. My vehicle has approximately 82,000 miles on it and for this to be happening to so many of these similar vehicles is unacceptable and Chrysler be held liable for this issue. I cannot safely take my family on vacation with our travel trailer without having use of the trailer braking system. I cannot sell the vehicle like this nor can I afford to buy another vehicle to replace this RAM 1500. Thank you.

Service Electronic braking system. ABS dashboard light illuminated. Traction control symbol illuminated. Dashboard brakelight illuminated. Faulty ABS control module diagnosted by independent repair center.

The ABS and traction control lights come on and off intermittently. When on the cruise control also doesn't work. No traction control or Automatic braking control.

Cruise control stops working. It is not a fuse per dealer maintenance services. It is the steering column wiring harness for the cruise control and they reported that they see this issue a great deal in the RAM trucks.

Cruise control intermittently works

This vehicle has a 3.0 eco diesel engine. Chrysler had a recall to update this engine which I had them do. Ever since the update there has been a long pause after pushing on the accelerator till the engine speeds up.

While driving with cruise control on and I have to hit the brake to kick the cruise control off .sometimes when I push the button to kick it back on it will not go back on, so I turn the cruise off and back on it will not work until I stop and turn the truck off and start it back up before the cruise control will reset

The vehicle was taken to tate dodge chrysler jeep ram (2903, 7429 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed more coolant.

I HAD MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE SOME RECALLS. LONG STORY SHORT IS THE "RECALL" WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX EMISSIONS ISSUES. AFTER THE RECALL WORK THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IN DANGEROUSLY BAD. THERE IS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION THAT IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. I DON'T DRIVE MY TRUCK VERY HARD SO I DIDN'T NOTICE IT AT FIRST, BUT I WENT TO MAKE A LEFT HANDED TURN AT A LIGHT AND WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE MY TRUCK DIDN'T PERFROM AND IT HAD IN THE PAST. THE LITERATURE I WAS GIVEN AFTER THE "RECALL" WORK WAS DONE SAY "THE AEM IS NOT EXPECTED TO CHANGE ANY OF YOUR KEY VEHICLE ATTRIBUTES, SUCH AS RELIABILITY, DRIVABILITY, VEHICHLE PERFORMANCE ETC." FALSE. AGAIN SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET THIS DONE AND BE IN AN ACIDENT WHEN THEIR TRUCK DOES PERFORM AS IT DID IN THE PAST. I NOW DRIVE THIS LIKE ITS A GUTLESS WONDER BUT SOMONE ELSE MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSTLER AND HAD IT IN THE THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "WORKING AS INTENDED". DANGEROUS.

The vehicle was taken to greenway chrysler dodge jeep ram of florence (2354 florence blvd, florence, al 35630, (256) 766-7324) where it was diagnosed that a new throttle position sensor was needed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. While pulling out of the driveway at 2 MPH, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the message center displayed "service throttle body". The vehicle lost acceleration and power.

My truck has just at 36,000 miles and is a 2016. At around 34,000 the cruise control has not been working properly. The on/off button doesn't always work.

I have been having electrical issues with this vehicle from the beginning. It has been back to the dealership 6 times for more then a day each time. They continue to tell me its fixed, change sensors, mirrors, seats etc.

The ABS system and cruise control are currently inoperative. The ABS module has been diagnosed as faulty, but the replacement part from Chrysler is on a year-long backorder

My truck has been diagnosed with a faulty ABS control module over a year ago. I have made countless efforts to remedy this to no avail. The demand is so high for these and the supply is zero.

Loss control while going down the highway, as the traction control is not working, I loss control when the road had a slight hill and curve. It has been a little under a year since my ABS module/control as gone bad. This causes the loss of traction control, ABS braking and other issues.

I went to pass another car on the highway and the throttle(peddle) stuck for several seconds before it became unstock pumping brakes did not work

Since purchasing the truck in january of 2020 I've noticed a serious delay in time from when the accelerator is engaged to when the throttle responds. This is especially noticeable when the truck has not been running for more than 10 minutes. I assume since this is a common complaint it was occurring before I purchased the vehicle.

Truck stuck at high speed, unable to de-accelarate, turned truck to neutral and applied hand brake to gradually stop. Message received on truck;" service throtle body" milage on truck 86463. I was driving about 60 mhp and attempted to pass a slow car when this happen.

Electronic throttle control light keeps coming and truck will go into limp mode. Has happened while in motion on a highway and also in town.

Since I've had the aem updated as part of the epa settlement I have delay when pressing the gas and acceleration, particularly when it is cold. There has also been a significant MPG drop although that isn't an immediate safety concern. This can be a particular issue when pulling into interchanges or on to the highway as acceleration is unpredictable.

It losses power the exhaust filter is full even when it was just changed it is a 2016 eco diesel dodge ram 1500

Cruise control will not activate until the button is pressed 6 or 7 times, taking your attention from the road to the display to see if it turns on

Since getting the ram eco diesel mandatory recall / re flash. I have experienced a "dead pedal." it's not as bad in warmer weather but now we are starting to experience colder mornings and winter is right around the corner. The drive-ability of the vehicle is unsafe and unsettling.

After fca completed the emissions recall on my 2016 ram the truck now does not want to accelerate into traffic. This is caused several issues when trying to merge into traffic or onto the interstate. Also while pulling a trailer I was not able to accelerate properly into traffic or to the highway.

Since the approved firmware modification per mdl no. Cal.) the vehicle has extreme delay in acceleration. Multiple times this lag has slowed me in the path of moving traffic and is a safety concern.

When accelerating rapidly (a heavy foot on the gas pedal) the vehicle often remains in acceleration mode once the pedal is released, and the vehicle continues to increase its velocity. Braking does not fix this issue. Twice now I've had to switch the truck to neutral, and let the computer figure out I didn't want the gas pedal anymore.
