2016 Nissan Rogue Transmission Problems

Following up on original report: 11628730. The ignition key can be removed while the vehicle is in Drive, creating a serious risk of unintended vehicle rollaway, which could result in property damage, injury, or death. This occurs every time the vehicle is in Drive.

I own a 2016 Nissan Rogue. VIN: [XXX] . The transmission system (power train) is malfunctioning, showing fault code P17F1 and symptoms of slipping, delayed acceleration, and a heavy ride.

The transmission began stuttering and making clunking noises as it was being driven normally down the road. This issue put me and my family at risk because we were not sure if we’d make it home and if the transmission would suddenly lock up leading us to an accident. The car has been gone through by a dealership in Jacksonville NC and was declared to have a faulty transmission.

My transmission acted up at 98000 miles got the car at 50094 I’m at a huge safety risk where I can get into a accident Nissan did not make me aware at 84,000 miles I had a CVT extension so they want me to come out of pocket vehicle has not been expected by the manufacturer

Transmission failure caused loss of power resulting in multiple near collisions. When brought to the dealership I was completely dismissed as they were over booked and sent me away.

I received notification of NHTSA recall 22V-024 in the beginning of the year. In this notification it is stated that the repair is currently being developed by Nissan to remedy your vehicle and the remedy is anticipated to be available in Spring of 2022. It is now mid-August and there is still no remedy.

2016 Nissan Rogue had transmission faililure while driving: gear slippage, engine racing and loss of power - unable to place in gear to drive. No warning message given. Vehicle was towed to Grossman Nissan in Old Saybrook, CT.

We've owned this Nissan Rogue since since we bought it around 6,000 miles. I've maintained it and driven it almost completely all highway miles as we live in a rural area. Required maintenance schedule was followed and CVT transmission service was done at a Nissan Dealer.

My drivers side window doesn’t go up and down consistently, also just spent 1500.00 for a total tune up, always do my oil changes tires brakes etc. now I’m driving down the road and my car jerked so hard it caused my forearm to beep the horn and the driver behind me just missed rear ending me. It happened two more times driving very slow to get home and again almost got rear ended.

Around 60k miles, the car started intermittently having a significant delay from the point when the accelerator was pressed and car moved. Often, once car started accelerating it went much faster than anticipated. Sometimes the car had a jerking motion mostly when traveling up a hill.

At seemingly random times the 2016 Nissan Rogue SUV will jerk or shudder while in motion. I would normally travel at a consistent speed but this issue causes sudden jerking/shuddering. I believe it involves the transmission.

The vehicle is doggy and won't shift. The rpms just keep climbing with no power causing me to be in a high speed limit area slowing down significantly fast as the transmission won't engage, almost getting rear ended.

ONCE THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THEY WOULD SEND AN INVESTIGATOR TO HIS LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GRAND BLANC NISSAN(8346 HOLLY RD, GRAND BLANC, MI 48439) WHERE THE INSPECTOR INFORMED HIM THAT THEY FOUND NO DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.*DT THIS IS CORRESPONDENCE TO NISSAN. NISSAN INSPECTED CAR BUT COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM NOR DUPLICATE THE OCCURRANCE THEREFORE THEY SAID WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE AND THEY WOULD DO NOTHING. NISSAN WOULD NOT LET ME WATCH AS THEY INSPECTED VEHICLE NOR WOULD THEY GIVE ME COPY OF THE REPORT. THEY SAID THE REPORT WAS PROPRIETARY. I DISAGREE. Without warning, the engine in my car intermittently shuts off while driving. This happens when the car is in motion. The car loses power to the steering wheel and breaks.

This is a supplemental complaint to NHTSA ID #11604939. On October 25, 2025, Passport Nissan in Alexandria, Virginia diagnosed my 2016 Nissan Rogue with fault code P17F1, which indicates a known CVT transmission failure. The technician documented drivability issues including hesitation, slipping, and pulsing during acceleration.

With no prior warning or issues while driving on the freeway the RPM’s on my car just went in the redline and the car just lost power and I had to pull to the side of the road and that was that. Had to tow it home and it has not moved on its own since. Had it towed to dealer it’s a transmission failure.

Transmission revs and won't shift. At the time I was bringing my husband from VA Hospital. I pulled over and waitedfor a few minutes.

2015 Nissan Rogue will not accelerate in any gear sporadically. Happens once or twice a day. The motor will run and RPM's rev up, but the drivetrain seems to disengage, and momentum is lost.

While driving home from work, the vehicle's transmission stopped working, resulting in coasting out of traffic and requiring a tow home at night. My safety and the safety of others were at risk. The next morning, the vehicle was towed to the mechanic shop, which confirmed the transmission failed and needs a complete replacement.

On July 15, 23 was driving home from Dr appt n my RPM was going crazy, the engine was whining while I was driving rogue and didn't hardly move. I had it towed and mechanic said was totalled. Transmission is out.

While driving on a major highway, my newly licensed 16-year-old son experienced shuddering, jerking (slight at first, but progressively worse) and failure to take off from a traffic light. He turned on the emergency flashing lights to alert other drivers, and he was able to take off about 5 seconds later, but the RPMs raced sporadically and acceleration stopped working.

On August 12 2023 on a trip to hershey PA my rogue felt like she was barely stuttering. I was passenger at the time, asked the driver if they felt that and if it was the car or the road because it felt almost like vibrations on uneven road. Then the RPM's dropped at highway speed like it needed to downshift, paused just above 2k and popped back up.

Vehicle has 143000 Transmission fluid changed at 69,000 Transmission is lulling and not shifting accurately. Vehicle stalls while driving.

3/13/2023, The last two times I drove the 2016 Nissan, the AWD Error was on the display. I’m not sure what would cause this. I also noticed that the ABS indicator flashes for a while and then stays on when I first start the vehicle.

Vehical will lurch, stutter and sometimes nearly stall usually upon acceleration. Feels unsafe to drive. Our mechanic inspected the vehicle and found the CVT needs replaced ($5500 repair).

Transmission slips stalls jerks

My car will randomly stall out when I drive and forget it’s in Drive…..my RPMs will shoot up but the car does not go, it looses the power of driving as if the car was put into neutral but wasn’t.

There were several instances where I was unable to move my vehicle while in the parking lot and came close to being hit by another vehicle or came close to hitting another vehicle. It is known to Nissan that their CVTs fail and my vehicle had began to fail at 35k miles.

My vehicle will lose power out of nowhere when I'm driving causing me to not be able to accelerate above 40mph at 4-5 RPM, the gas peddle does not work you can feel the pull on the car there is no power. I need to take my foot off the gas to not blow my transmission but then I drop to about 20mph and on highways or even side roads this is very dangerous and not always possible.

There is a known issue with nissan CVT transmissions in this year, make and model vehicle. Nissan is accepting no responsibility and issuing no recalls. Car suddenly stops accelerating while driving (this happened while driving 65 MPH on an interstate highway). CVT transmission replaced at 9,000 miles (yes, brand new car) and now needs new CVT for same problem at 69,000 miles, however this time not under warranty. Two transmission failures under dangerous circumstances with no warning!

I purchased a 2016 rogue sv (VIN [xxx], I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle since I brought it home. I had the head unit replace no less than 4 separate times because it would stop working and go black. The car had less than 10,000 miles on it.

My 2016 nissan rogue experienced an abrupt and total failure of the CVT transmission. I was not able to accelerate and the vehicle would lurch and lose power.

As I was travelling on a major freeway, my brand new 2016 nissan rogue began to feel like it was "jumping." at that point I noticed my rpms were high for the speed I was going. Not even 30 seconds after, my car completely stalled. I was in the fast lane of the freeway and barely had time to react.

Rogue seems to hesitate when transmission changes gears

The back differential box gave out on me. Audible constant grinding of gears and leakage from the box. Underneath of car feels like it’s jumping around and sounds like a chain in dragging.

Have a 2016 Nissan rogue purchased new and well maintained. It has 87,000 miles. Last week, out of the blue, the car dropped to 50 MPH and would not go over that speed.

Have a 2016 Nissan rogue with about 49,000 miles. About two months ago, started experiencing judder when truck got above 50 miles an hour. Took it to a local mechanic where they performed a diagnostic and let us know there was a transmission problem.

Vehicle transmission is shaking, shuddering, bumping.

While driving home from work, the Nissan went from 50mph, suddenly down to 4mph. (literally 4mph) Pressing the gas down all the way would not allow the car to move any faster. It would occasionally get up to 15mph, but wouldn't stay.

I was driving my car as normal, when I stopped for red light to wait the green light , The car could engage in proper gear . This is automatic transmission I had nothing to do with shift . The vehicle had a delay to engage in the next gear.

Driving home on the highway my car begin to rev high, but lose speed, then again when I went to pass in the passing lane, I pulled over for about 5mins, then proceeded to drive, about 2 mins in it started doing it again, but this time it made noises, and was vibrating/shuddering as if something was in the gears, I pulled over and got roadside assistance which in-turn LED to the towing of my car to a safe location.

I bought the car from my mom, at 30k miles they had to have a new transmission, on my way home to Wisconsin right in the middle of the interstate the transmission went out again thank god I'm alive, this is less than 20k miles after the dealership put the new one in, now it needs another transmission. I'm scared for my life to drive it again, please do something so no one gets hurt or killed

Power windows don’t work , have issues with my ABS causing car not to kick into gear sometimes, battery replacement

Thankfully I have not been injured yet. But I brought a nissan Rogue 2016 and when driving for a while notice that sometimes I push on gas pedal and RPM goes up but car won"t move. Or sometimes it seems like transmission is slipping.my check engine light can on and will be taking to Nissan to diagnose the issue which according to what I been reading is a common issue for vehicle.

on a few occasions in 2022 (3 that im aware of) the rogue would stop accelerating. The top speed was about 15 miles an hour while the RPMs ran about 4000. Last week the problem happened again.

Several months ago, my car would seem to shift into low and rev very high without moving any faster. I took it in to the dealership, and they added transmission fluid. Since then, the frequency of this occurrence has increased to several times per week.

CVT transmission issues.

I have been having issues with the transmission in my 2016 Nissan Rogue. At the date of the filing of a class action lawsuit regarding this issue there were 38 complaints lodged with the NHTSA regarding this same issue, for just that year of the model.

The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

I was driving on a four lane freeway when my transmission (with no warning) started acting strange. The engine started revving like I was stepping on the gas harder, but the car was actually slowing down. It felt like the engine was going to blow so I took my foot off of the gas. I tried to accelrate to get to the exit lane as cars were trying to pass on the left and right. The transmission would catch and start working sort of and then start racing the engine again. I was able to get off of the highway, but it was a very harrowing experience. Even though I was off of the highway I needed to continue to a safe place. The car continued to race the engine, but not really accelerate. Had car towed to dealer. Car needs new transmission. Apparently this is a known defect with these transmissions.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,805.

I was driving on highway when my 2016 Nissan Rogue SV with 60,700 miles and just 5 years old transmission began slipping. The RPMs were jumping up and down when I tried to accelerate and travel with highway traffic at 65mph. I could not get vehicle to travel past 50 mph and once I was safely able to pull off exit, the car which was still in drive, began rolling backwards towards other vehicles on exit ramp. No warning lights ever came on, and there was no prior indication of a transmission failure. No stalling, slipping, lurching, etc. My safety along with my 7 & 2 year old was put at great risk as we could have easily been hit going so slow on an interstate, along with it rolling backwards on exit ramp. It was too unsafe to pull off on highway breakdown lane because it’s too narrow. The vehicle was then towed to Nissan dealership where it was confirmed to be a transmission failure at no fault of my own, but a “mechanical failure” as they described and they fixed.

The contact was able to drive to his residence. Upon researching, the contact related the failure to the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was over the mileage warranty and referred the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The transmission shakes shudders then won't accelerate. Then all of the sudden revs up and takes off

I bought my Rouge used on 7/6/21, and it started acting up on 8/15/21. A whole 9 days after my 30 day limited warranty ran out. It feel like the transmission is slipping. It jerks, bogs down, doesn't accelerate when you step on the gas, is hesitant to back up or drive, will stall while driving, and completely loses power while driving. I was driving to work today and it lost power while i was on the highway, had i not been able to pull off I could've have been killed. It was driving fine at 65 mph and then just started to lose power and not want to go. I pulled off the highway and shut it off and then after a few minutes restarted the car, it still hesitated to go and was jerking and bogging down but didn't lose power again. I am afraid to drive this or have my kids in the car but I don't have a choice as I am still paying on this car. The check engine light did not come on until after these things occurred. It was driving fine prior to 8/15/21 and nothing occurred that should've caused this problem.

Reviving RPMS, car is shudder decreasing and increasing speed dangerous to drive

THE ISSUES BEGAN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, I NOTICED THE CAR WAS DECELERATING AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS THERE WAS A SCREECHING SOUNDS SO I PULLED OVER. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE CAR EVENTUALLY BUT IT WOULD JERK WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THE SCREECHING NOISE RETURN AT 3000 RPM. I BROUGHT IT INTO A AUTO SHOP WHO RECOMMENDED BRING IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THAT IS WHERE IS WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND RECOMMENDED FOR A REPLACEMENT. THAT BRINGS ME BACK TO THE MILEAGE ISSUE, IF I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN A DAY SOONER THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY COVERED. NISSAN'S GOODWILL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WILL COVER HALF, BUT THE CVT HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF SEVERAL LAWSUIT. NISSAN ISSUES AND EXTENSION ON THE WARRANTY. I HAVE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND $2,200 IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR AN ISSUE A DESIGN ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR SOME NISSAN ROGUE THAT ARE THE SAME YEAR. WHY NOT FOR ALL WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A PREDATORY PRACTICE AND AS A YOUNG WOMAN WHO DOES NOT KNOW MUCH I FEEL TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF RIGHT NOW. I DO LOVE MY CAR AND WOULD HAVE LIKED TO REMAIN WITH NISSAN BUT WITH THE PANDEMIC AND JOB SECURITY BEING CRITICAL ELEMENTS OF Y SURVIVAL I AM NO LONGER CONFIDENT IN MY VEHICLE ABILITY TO BE RELIABLE IN MY EVERY DAY NEEDS. IT CONSTANTLY SHUDDERS AND IS INCREDIBLY LOUD NOW WHEN ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING. DESPITE BEING UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY IT IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. NISSAN CONTINUOUSLY KEEPS PLACING NEW TRANSFER CASES IN MY CAR WITHOUT INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING SO BAD, I HAD TO PULL OVER. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC AND IT TURNS OUT IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION WITH UNDER 100,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WHEN IT HAPPENED! THIS CAR HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF WITH REGULAR SERVICING.

THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CAR BEGAN SLIPPING AND REFUSED TO GO INTO GEAR. IT CLUNKED AND BUCKED ALONG AT LOW SPEEDS. ONCE IN DRIVE IT WAS FINE, BUT WOULD NOT GO INTO ANOTHER GEAR. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT HOME AND THERE IS HAS SAT UNTIL 12/28/20 WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT TOWED. WHEN WE TRIED TO GET IT INTO GEAR, IT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL EVEN. WE DID NOT GO TO A DEALER AS THEY WERE TWICE AS FAR AS THE MECHANIC WE FOUND. NISSAN REFUSED TO CONSIDER A RECALL OR ISSUE EVEN WITH A SETTLED LAWSUIT ON OTHER CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN PAY FOR THE TOW AND SIMPLY SAID "SORRY".

WAS DRIVING CAR AND TRANSMISSION DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP AND NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. NISSAN ONLY COVERS UP TO 60000 MILES AND I AM OVER THAT SO IF IS COSTING ME $5000 TO REPLACE IT

AFTER 60 MPH, THE CAR WOULD STRART TO REV ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT ALSO STARTING HUMMING WITH ACCELERATION AND RATTLE WHEN I WOULD LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL. SHIFTING INTO REVERSE WOULD TAKE MORE THAN 10 SECS TO SHIFT, AND SAME WITH GOING INTO DRIVE. THE WARMER THE CAR WAS, THE MORE IT SHUTTERED.

DROVE 2 MILES YESTERDAY (09/10/20) AND IT STARTED JUTTING AND IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE.

MY 2016 NISSAN ROGUE STALLED SUDDENLY WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT AT 25 MPH. AFTER 3 DAYS OF INVESTIGATION IT TURNS OUT THE WIRING HARNESS HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY SECURED AND THE CASING WORE OFF FROM RUBBING UP AGAINST THE CAR, CAUSING A SHORT THAT CAUSE A FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. HAD THIS HAPPENED AT HIGH SPEED, SHE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.

THE CAR DIED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. IT SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP. THE STEERING AND BRAKES WORKED, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER FROM THE ACCELERATOR THEN THE CAR JUST TURNED OFF.

I FIRST NOTICED THIS WHILE DRIVING HOME ON MY STREET WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 45 IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING AND FROM THEN ON IT WOULD HAPPEN RANDOMLY. EITHER ON THE HIGHWAY, A CITY STREET, STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR STARTED TO JUMP, SHUDDER/SHAKE, STALL, AND VIBRATE, WHICH HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. THERE WILL BE TIMES WHERE I AM PUT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS I CANNOT CONTROL THE CARS ACCELERATION AND IT WILL SPEED UP VERY RAPIDLY OR NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEED UP AT ALL. WAS SACRED FEELING TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEN ON JAN 1,2020 COMING DOWN 95 SOUTHBOUND AND MY WHOLE DASH BORED LIGHTS CAME ON . I BELIEVE IT WAS EVERY SINGLE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WAS TOLD THAT MY ABS WAS BAD AND IT WAS GOING COST AROUND 3800 TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR STAYED AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. ONCE I RECEIVE MY CAR BACK STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT THE VIBRATION AND HOOD. AGAIN WAS TOLD SINCE IT'S NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THERE'S NO PROBLEM. ON JULY 17 MY CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND MY RPM WAS GOING UP TO LIKE 5. DROP MY CAR TO NISSAN TO HAVE LIGHT CHECK OUT WAS TOLD THAT THERE'S WASN'T A LIGHT ON ONCE THEY PULL MY CAR IN SHOP. AGAIN NO ANSWER. ON AUGUST 8 MY CAR WAS LIKE I HAD PUSH PEDAL ALL WAY AND IT WAS GOING LIKE 25 MPH AND RPM WAS AT 4 BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK MY CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION. NOW THAT MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED JUST THE END OF JULY 2020 I CAN RECEIVE A DIAGNOSTIC IF PROBLEM. I TOOL IT TO MY MECHANIC TO PULL THE CODES, WHICH THEY DID, AND THEY REFERRED ME TO THE DEALERSHIP. ON MY WAY HOME, DURING WHICH THE VEHICLE COULD GO NO MORE THAN 25 MILES AN HOUR, IT COMPLETELY LOST POWER ON A SMALL INCLINE. REVERSE AND DRIVE DID NOT WORK. I HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE PUSH THE CAR BACK OUT OF THE INTERSECTION IT WAS STUCK IN. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. PROBLEM IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION.

AFTER SEVERAL TRIES I FINALLY GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AT 11PM LEAVING ME STALLED AGAIN . I COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 92,612 MILES. NISSAN WON'T TAKE ANY INTEREST IN PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE HAD LAWSUITS ALONG WITH MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION. I'M A SINGLE MOM WORKING DURING THIS COVID VIRUS TO SHIPPER MYSELF AND MY CHILD WITH NO OTHER INCOME. THIS VEHICLE IS TOO NEW TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE TO DRIVE AN HOUR TO WORK AND AN HOUR BACK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC AS INTERMITTENTLY, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN MAKING A TURN.I AM WORRIED NOW THAT THE NOTORIOUS CVT TRANSMISSION WILL GO OUT NEXT.

TOOK CAR IN TO DEALER DUE TO NOISE, CORPORATE INVESTIGATOR NEEDED TO COME IN TO REVIEW, AND REPLACED TRANSFER CASE. UPON PICKING CAR UP, NOISE STILL THERE AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION CVT TRANMISSION ASSEMBLY REPLACED. UPON PICKING UP THIRD TIME, GRINDING NOISE EASILY HEARS WHEN ACCELERATING. ALL ISSUES OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING, AND LUCKILY TRANSMISSION DID NOT FAIL. CONCERN NOT ONLY ABOUT TRANSMISSION ISSUE PREVALENT IN OTHER NISSAN MODELS INCLUDING OLDER ROGUES, BUT DEALER CONTINUING TO RETURN VEHICLE WHEN EASILY DISCERNIBLE TO NON-MECHANIC THAT ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN CORRECTED.

WHEN I PUSH THE GAS THE CAR BARELY MOVES - LITERALLY - AND THEN IT WILL GO ALL THE SUDDEN. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE I CAN FIND NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. *TR

EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE MY CAR IDLES HIGH AND IS SLUGGISH. *TR

AT ABOUT 58000 MILES SEPT 2019 I FIRST NOTICED ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AND NOISE. I WAS ABOUT TO GO OUT OF TOWN AND WAS AFRAID TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK MY CAR TO NISSAN OF BOWIE. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THERE WERE NO CODES ACTIVATED AND NO RECALLS ON THE CAR. HE GAVE ME A LIST OF OTHER CONCERNS FOR MY CAR (BRAKES, ROTORS, AND TIRES). I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND DID NOT DRIVE OUT OF TOWN AS PLANNED. MY HUSBAND REPLACED MY ROTORS, BRAKES, AND TIRES. STILL THE CAR WAS SHAKY. NEXT TRIP OUT OF TOWN WAS IN MAY 2020. MY CAR STALLED OUT WHILE WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY TO VISIT MY FAMILY IN KENTUCKY. WE WERE AN HOUR AWAY FROM OUR HOTEL AND DROVE EXTREMELY SLOW. NO DEALERSHIPS WERE OPEN ON SUNDAY. WE TOOK MY CAR TO COYLE NISSAN IN SOUTHERN INDIANA. THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY TRASHED AND OUT OF WARRANTY. I TRIED TO SEE IF MY INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD COVER IT. A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THIS LOCATION TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY THERE IS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO DAMAGE THE TRANSMISSION. IT GOES OUT ON ITS OWN. THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS. I CALLED THE NISSAN WARRANTY PEOPLE TO GET SUPPORT. THEY AGREED TO PAY PARTS AND NOT LABOR. WHILE I WAS STRANDED OUT OF TOWN AND STUCK IN A HOTEL, I HAD TO PAY 2000 DOLLARS FOR LABOR TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND RETURN TO MARYLAND. I FILED A BBB AUTOLINE COMPLAINT AND THEY SAID THEY ONLY HELP WITH CARS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD. MY SECOND TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN ON MAY 14TH AND WENT OUT LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER ON MAY 27TH. I NOTICED ISSUES THIS TIME AS SOON AS WE HEADED TO MARYLAND. IT STALLED OUT COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND AM ON A THIRD TRANSMISSION. THERE WAS A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE EXACT TRANSMISSION IN 2019 ON OTHER MODELS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NEITHER THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST NOR THE REPAIR WERE COVERED UNDER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000.

WHEN MOVING DOWN HIGHWAY 289 NORTHBOUND IN FRISCO, TEXAS AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND LOSE POWER, AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED MOVING WHILE THE GAS PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. FOR A FEW MINUTES I WAS STUCK IN THE RIGHT LINE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. I EVENTUALLY TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE ENGAGED THE TRANSMISSION. AND WHEN I STARTED TO MOVE AGAIN THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND WHEN I GOT UP TO ABOUT 25 MPH AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED A SECOND TIME. AND I WAS STALLED A SECOND TIME ON THE HIGHWAY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR A FEW HUNDRED YARDS TO A TURNOUT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND AVOID A DANGEROUS COLLISION. I HAD TO BE TOWED A FEW MILES TO MY HOME WHERE THE VEHICLE IS NOW LOCATED. *TR

BEARING WORN OUT IN TRANSMISSION AT 67000 MILES; THE ONLY WARNING I HAD WAS A NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR WHEN CAR WAS IN MOTION SOUNDED LIKE THE SPIN CYCLE OF A WASHING MACHINE, NO NOISE HEARD WHEN CAR WAS STOPPED NO WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD BUT HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION

BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR OUR 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO DRIVE. IT HAS 16,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS STARTED SHUTTERING AND LURCHING UPON ACCELERATION. AT ONE POINT SHE WAS DRIVING IT ON A BUSY FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AND IT STARTED LURCHING AND THE CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY SHE WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. MY HUSBAND WENT TO PICK IT UP AND IT DID IT AS HE WAS LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. HE IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND LEFT THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT MAY BE THE BELT INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION.

SITTING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE, TRAFFIC WAS MOVING VERY SLOW (STOP AND GO) AS I DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND JOLT. I RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL AND TRIED AGAIN AND RECEIVED THE SAME RESULT. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE MORE I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE. I THEN TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC WHERE HE EXPLAINED MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING TO STOP WORKING AND I WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. HE HAD A MACHINE THAT WAS HOOKED UP TO MY VEHICLE SHOWING THE CVT CODE. I DID NOT THINK TO ASK FOR A COPY OF THE READ OUT.

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE 2016 NISSAN ROGUE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTIED TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT THAT WAS FOR 5 YEARS OR 60,000 MILES WHICH WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YEAR OR 120,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED THE CONTACT CASE NUMBER 38531446. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.

CAR LOST ACCELERATION WHEN GOING DOWN A LONG HILL AT ABOUT 45 MPH ON THE MAIN ROAD FROM OUR HOUSE TO OUR TOWN. RPM'S WERE GOING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE APPLIED TO GAS OR BRAKES. CAR WAS THEN HARD TO PUT INTO GEAR, YOU COULD GET IT TO ENGAGE AFTER 5-10 TIMES TRYING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS WAS LESS THAN 2MOS AFTER THE PC490 CAMPAIGN WAS PREFORMED ON MY CAR AND A TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE.

-car has 56,000 miles -a few times over the past few months, it hesitates when accelerating from a full stop -yesterday, it happened a lot, and several times I even pushed the accelerator to the floor, and nothing happened...then it suddenly revved and shot forward after a few seconds. Terrifying.

A nissan dealer had preformed a service campaign pc4900 to my 2016 nissan rogue it involved the CVT transmission software and since they did it the car is not driving like before. The shifting is slower and takes longer to shift, the engine is louder and revving higher and the fuel economy got very bad.

From what it sounds like, it’s the transmission, it goes on limp mode, now it doesn’t want to move anymore, the gears move out of place. All the mechanics I have been to have been telling me 6k to place it and charge me 200 out of pocket just to tell me that with a computer to find the codes. My car hasn’t moved in 2 months

My transmission is slow when I driving and loss power in hills

Spare tire provided with vehicle is incorrect size causing drive train issues which can lead to vehicle locking up and or becoming inoperable.

Nissan knows their transmissions aren’t good. They are putting bad transmission into cars and scamming people out of money. My transmission just blew with 92,000 miles on it.

Driving in the highway and RPM kept going higher but vehicle was slowing down and it happened during bad traffic. Happened again same day at a traffic light, light turned green and my vehicle didn’t move for a short while

While driving home from work, my wife was attempting to merge onto the on-ramp to the highway, and the vehicle jerked violently and RPM's skyrocketed but the speed was barely climbing. The speed didn't rise above 20mph until RPM's reached 4k. We had to creep all the way home with the engine whining and juddering and couldn't go above 45mph.

During highway driving speeds vehicle will suddenly lose power and slow down. Pressing accelerator pedal increases RPM but not the speed. With cruise control engaged vehicle will suddenly and abruptly slow down with RPMs climbing to 4000.

Problem with transmission- sluggish when accelerating Very unsafe to drive I obtained diagnostic test from Simba Automotive- code: p1564-p0841-p17f0 At first there was no warning but after a few more drives warning engine light appeared on dashboard. Recommendation is to replace the transmission- cost around 7500 USD

On the highway the vehicle would Rev to 4K RPM and not shift. It felt like it was stuck in 2nd gear.

My wife had the car running in the driveway and returned to the car to push the start/stop button. Without pushing the break the car proceeded to go in reverse. She paniced and as she was getting into the car the door was forced open and damaged to the door.
