Water is leaking into your vehicle through defective drain plugs, causing corrosion and failure of electrical components including the lane departure warning system, radar, cameras, and climate controls. Multiple electrical connectors are corroding due to this water intrusion, creating a potential fire hazard. Fixing the damaged wiring harness and related electrical components may cost around $10,000 and will likely require replacing corroded connectors, the main electrical harness, and affected modules.

Your driver's door won't unlock using either the key fob or the physical key, and it also won't open from the inside, trapping you in the vehicle. This is a serious safety concern since you can't get in or out of your car in an emergency. The door actuator, which controls the locking and unlocking mechanism, has likely failed. The repair will likely involve replacing the faulty door lock actuator and possibly the associated electrical components.

While driving on the highway at 70 mph, your gas pedal area became extremely hot and flames appeared from both the front and behind the firewall. You had to pull over and evacuate immediately, losing the vehicle and all your belongings. This appears to be a fire originating near the engine compartment or fuel system.

Your car's battery terminals are leaking acid and corrosive residue onto electrical connections, which has caused the air conditioning compressor and motor to stop working. You may notice a strong rotten egg smell when you try to use the AC. The battery acid buildup needs to be cleaned off and the battery terminals replaced to restore electrical connections and get the AC working again.

Your car's doors are randomly locking and unlocking while you're driving, and the interior lights are blinking on and off. This suggests an electrical issue affecting both the door lock and lighting systems. The problem may require diagnosis of the electrical wiring, door lock actuators, or interior light circuits.

There is a water leak on the driver side floor and the body shop can figure out where it's coming from. My vehicle also had issues with the latch due to corrosion. The body shop was able to fix that issue. My navigation system and dash turns off and on as I am driving. The bodyshop can't find any issues with that either. Clear something is wrong with it.
Sun visor mirror plastic retaining clips broke causing mirrors to dangle from wires. One of the wires broke and made contact with the other lead. This caused a short that melted the wires in the head liner and started a fire. The short did not trip a fuse and the only way to stop the short in the wire and resulting fire was to disconnect the car battery.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormal burning odor coming from underneath the driver's side of the vehicle. The battery was immediately replaced. The contact stated that while making a right turn, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. On another occasion, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle started to lose motive power and failed to accelerate as intended. The air bags, brake, battery, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the battery and starter relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.
Brought my car in awhile ago for a recall, water getting in wheel well, it was fixed. One week ago my power steering started to be unassisted and hard to drive. Made appointment with Nissan in Milford Ct. and it cost me 1200.00 to fix electrical from leak from sunroof that hasn’t worked for a great while, just wanted to know if it was solely my responsibility for electrical short causing my power steering to become unassisted.
The contact's deceased mother owned a 2014 Nissan Rogue that was inherited by his son. The contact stated that the vehicle had been parked in his son's driveway in the rain. The contact stated that his son later noticed that the driver's side floorboard was filled with water. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System); however, the failure reoccurred while the vehicle was parked in the rain. The contact became aware of Nissan Technical Service Bulletin Number: NTB14-105A. The contact provided the TSB document to the dealer, who then repaired the vehicle based on the TSB instructions. The dealer discovered that the body sealing along the fire wall, below the driver's side windshield and behind the fender liners was not sealed, allowing water to leak onto the driver's side floorboard. The dealer resealed the body seal; however, upon picking up the vehicle from the dealer's parking lot, the contact noticed that the failure had reoccurred. The dealer removed the driver's seat and carpet and verified that there was no other potential water leak source. The dealer then reinstalled the seat and carpet after they had dried; however, the failure persisted. The dealer then informed the contact that they could not repair the vehicle as they did not have a master technician. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,500.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) and the vehicle was repaired. Soon after the repair, the vehicle started to stall with several warning lights including the chassis system control, check engine, and transmission warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and provided an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that the passenger’s side drain tubes had become clogged, and water had accumulated in the passenger’s side foot well. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he related the failure to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) but instead of the driver's side foot well it was the passenger’s side. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed and replaced the drain tubes. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,650.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side window failed to close as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the front passenger's side harness connector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted, and the contact stated that intermittently, the passenger’s side power window was inoperable. The vehicle was then taken to Crabtree Nissan (2191 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury, CT 06762) where it remained awaiting a diagnostic test and repair. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Hello, I own a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The driver side window does not and has not functioned for the past year. In addition, there is a burning/fuel type odor present in interior of the vehicle. In October of 2021, I had taken my vehicle to Reedman Toll Nissan (Drexel Hill, PA) and paid $225 to have the window problem diagnosed and it was determined that there was an issue with the harness that caused the malfunction and that the wire harness needed to be replaced at upwards of $700. I opted out of the replacement at that time. In July 2022, returned to the same location for an annual inspection and the dealer wanted to charge the now $250 diagnosis fee that was just paid for months prior. At this time the recall was known and the remedy was announced yet the dealer did not address. Last week I returned to the same location to have the Recall R21B9 performed and the outcome that was noted was that no issues were found. Yet the window still does not function. There was not a clear indication as why it was deemed that the recall is not what is causing the window to not operate. I reached out to the service manager and got conflicting responses to that questions. I have reached out several times to Nissan Customer Relations and for clarity and was told that it was a "one time only" deal to bring the vehicle in to address the recall, even if the work was not completed on that visit. There has been no indication that Nissan is willing to fix a known, safety recall issue. Instead complete denial of the issue. I appreciate your attention to this matter.
Got interim recall letter March 2022, no remedy has been provided, wire issue has called drivers window inoperable lights on dash for all wheel drive, airbag, engine light. No undate can be given from Nissan
The wiring seems faulty. The dash wiring is blinking, surging, and the vehicle won’t start at times. The starting issue is intermittent. Nissan acknowledged a recall on 2014-2016 Nissan Rogue for for having this wiring issue with these same symptoms. However, they are saying that this specific VIN does not have a recall for this wiring issue. Yet, all the symptoms are the same. They want $500 to even consider diagnostic testing rather than just checking for the same issue as all the others that are recalled for the same problem. This is a complete injustice that needs to be addressed.

Please note that I attempted to report this to Nissan today, but the first call I was hung up on after describing why I was calling and the second call went unanswered. At some point between 01/27/2022 and 01/31/2022, it was reported to me that my vehicle was destroyed by fire. My VIN was verified to be a part of the recent recall regarding salt water entering the driver side floor panel and causing electrical corrosion that could potentially result in fire. I did experience my driver floor board becoming wet, intermittently, after driving in rainy or wet road conditions as was described in the recent recall. The car has been completely destroyed by fire. For more information regarding investigation and vehicle location for inspection, please contact: North Charleston Fire Department 843-740-2620 Case# 22-0008846
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that initially, the engine battery had to be replaced twice after an independent mechanic discovered corroded wiring which had caused her battery to drain. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer the vehicle where the vehicle was purchased and had a portion of her wiring repaired. Despite the repair, the contact stated that her backup camera and turn signals failed to operate as needed. The contact also stated that a burning odor would emit from her vehicle without warning. As the failure persisted, she took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where they discovered a leak(location unknown) inside the vehicle which had caused the corrosion and was the source of her electrical failure. While watching the news, the contact heard about NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) which she linked to her failure. The manufacturer was then notified and she was informed that her vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle would lose motive power whenever the fob key was not placed upright and straight in the ignition. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed as having no failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
MY LIFT GATE SHOWS A WARNING SAYING IT'S I'M OPEN WHILE I'M DRIVING, MY VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO BEEP AND THE LOCKS WILL UNLOCK AND LOCK ON THEIR OWN. WHILE THE WARNING IS GOING OFF I CAN'T USE LANE ASSISTANCE OR BLIND SPOT ASSISTANCE.
DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BROAD CORRIDISON. SAW ON WEBSITE THAT THIS CAN CAUSE A FIRE. NOTICE THE DAMAGE AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.
THE BLOWER MOTOR FOR MY HVAC IS SHOWING THAT IT IS BLOWING, YET NOTHING COMES OUT. THIS MEANS THAT MY DEFROST WILL NOT WORK MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE TEMPERATURE REACHES OVER 85F OUTSIDE, MY AC STOPS WORKING AND BLOWS HOT AIR. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 85 IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE. 2 YEARS MY HEATING ALSO WENT OUT IN THE DEAD OF WINTER AND ONLY BLEW OUT COLD AIR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THAT PROBLEM. OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS MY AC/HEATING SYSTEM HAS MADE A RATTLING NOISE AND TODAY IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT. I TURN IT ON AND THE FAN DOESN'T BLOW HOT/COLD AIR. ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE ONLINE SEARCHES, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2014-2017 ROGUES THAT NISSAN HAS YET TO ADDRESS OR ISSUE A RECALL ON. AND I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SYSTEM THAT WILL COST WELL OVER $2000. I LIVE IN CHICAGO AND BEING WITHOUT WORKING HEAT IN THE WINTER IS A SERIOUS HAZARD. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS NEED TO BE MADE BEFORE THE MANUFACTURE TAKES IT SERIOUSLY
THE FACTORY-INSTALLED NAVIGATION SYSTEM HAS SEVERAL ISSUES THAT MAKE IT UNUSABLE. THESE ISSUES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: THE ENTIRE NAVIGATION SYSTEM WILL RANDOMLY RESTART SEVERAL TIMES WHILE USING IT, ERASING ALL TRIP DATA; THE SCREEN WILL FREEZE WHEN TRYING TO USE IT, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE VOLUME, TURN OFF THE UNIT, OR DO ANYTHING. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY DENIED THAT THE UNIT HAD ANY ISSUES. WHAT'S WORSE IS THAT THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE NAVIGATION OR SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE 2014 NISSAN ROUGE, AND NISSAN HAS NO INTENTIONS ON UPGRADING ANYTHING. THE NAVIGATION UPDATE SITE SAYS THERE ARE NO UPDATES AVAILABLE FOR THE 2014-15 NISSAN ROGUES, BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL UPDATES AVAILABLE FOR 2016 AND NEWER MODELS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE, AND HAS CAUSED SEVERAL DISTRACTING ISSUES WHILE DRIVING OR TRYING TO NAVIGATE USING THE BUILT-IN NAVIGATION THAT I PAID A PREMIUM FOR. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS FURTHER. I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?" DATE IS IRRELEVANT BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO TO FIX IT FOR ME.
WATER INTRUSION ON DRIVERS SIDE FLOORBOARD DURING RAIN. KNOWN ISSUE ON OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES WHERE WELDS WERE MISSED OR SEALS WERE OVERLOOKED. AS STATED IN OTHER RECALLS AND BULLETINS, THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AS CAN LEAD TO A SHORT IN KICK PANEL COMPONENTS. NISSAN REFUSES TO ADDRESS.

WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE RPMS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THEN STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. NISSAN RECALL NUMBER 15VO32000 IS FOR A FACTORY DEFECT INVOLVING WATER LEAKING INTO PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR MATS AND CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND VEHICLE FIRE. NISSAN HAS NOT NOTIFIED US TO GET THIS CORRECTED BY A NISSAN DEALER. NISSAN NEEDS TO PROACTIVELY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS BEFORE THIS BECOMES AN ELECTRICAL FIRE HAZARD OR A HEALTH HAZARD FROM THE MOULD AND MILDEW.
2014 NISSAN ROGUE. ATTORNEY REPRESENTING CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DESTROYED/ DAMAGED ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESS. *SMD THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE VEHICLE REPAIRS. *JS
TAIL LIGHTS ON DRIVERS SIDE STOPPED WORKING. LIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED BUT THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SIGNAL LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CONTINUE TO WORK BUT NO TAIL LIGHTS. NISSAN DEALERSHIP IS CURRENTLY TRYING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT ARE HAVING TROUBLE LOCATING THE CAUSE. THEY TELL ME THEY ARE IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN TECHNICIANS VIA E-MAIL AND EXPECT THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS. THE CAR IS 3 1/2 YEARS OLD AND HAS JUST UNDER 42000 MILES. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER NUMEROUS TIMES TO ADJUST OTHER RECALL ISSUES AND FOUR TIMES TO FIX THE AIR CONDITIONER. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT ANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THE CAR HAS COULD ONLY COME FROM DEFECT OR FROM PREVIOUS REPAIRS DONE BY THE SERVICE DEPT. I BELIEVE I HAVE A REASONABLE EXPECTATION THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN ANY NEW CAR SHOULD CERTAINLY LAST LONGER THAN 3 1/2 YEARS.
''TAKATA RECALL" AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUING TO STAY ON EITHER STATIONARY OR ACTUAL DRIVING OF VEHICLE BEEN AT DEALER FOR OVER 5 MONTHS AFTER SUBMITTING COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN THEY FINALLY HAVE MANUFACTURED A PART AFTER ALL THIS TIME. HAVE LOOKED AT VEHICLE MANY TIMES AT SERVICE DEPT. COMPLETELY GUTTED VEHICLE AND REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT CARFAX AT LEAST NOT TO MENTION SAFETY AFTER PUT BACK TOGETHER IF IT WILL BE RIGHT THEN.
PASSENGER AIRBAG DOESN'T SHOW ACTIVE, EVEN WHEN PASSENGER IS SEATED IN PASSENGERS SEAT.
I HAVE QTY 2, 2014 NISSAN ROGUES, BOTH HAVE THE $1420 NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND NEITHER OF THEM WORK. THE DIRECTIONS ARE NOT ACCURATE AND CAN BE OFF BY MILES, OR JUST OUT OF THE AREA ALTOGETHER. IT WILL NOT DISPLAY SUB STREETS AND JUST TELLS YOU TO GET TO A MAIN ROAD. THE NAV, RADIO AND CONTROL MODULE REBOOTS OFTEN. I HAVE HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT IT AND IN ONE OF THEM THEY UPGRADED THE MAPS DATA FILE, THIS DID NOT HELP. I DO NOT USE THE NAVIGATION AT ALL AND HAVE RESORTED TO MY OLD GARMIN, WINDSHIELD MOUNT, WHICH WORKS PERFECTLY. NISSAN SHOULD HAVE JUST EMBEDDED A GARMIN IN THEIR DASH. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY [XXX] & [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2014 ROGUE FROM BATES NISSAN IN KILLEEN, TX ON 9/4/14 AND FROM THE START ON THE FULL TANK OF GAS GIVEN TO ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD STALL AT STOP LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS AND GOING AROUND CORNERS. WHEN I CALLED THE BATES NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS USING THE WRONG TYPE OF GAS, THAT I NEEDED TO USE PREMIUM. WE THEN STARTED BRINGING IT TO THE NEXT CLOSEST DEALERSHIP, GARLYN SHELTON NISSAN IN TEMPLE, TX. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT THERE A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES NOW, EVEN LEAVING IT OVERNIGHT SEVERAL TIMES. THEY SAY THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE VEHICLE STALLING WHILE IT IS THERE AND THEREFORE CAN DO NOTHING. I PROVIDED THEM WITH CODES THAT I HAD MY STEPFATHER PULL OFF THE VEHICLE AFTER IT STALLED IN MY PARENTS DRIVEWAY, BUT NISSAN SAID THAT THEY CANNOT USE THOSE. THE ONLY OPTION THAT THEY GIVE ME IS TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE WHERE IT IS WHEN IT STALLS AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT RESTARTING IT SO THEY CAN READ THE CODES THAT WAY. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF VERY BUSY CITY STREETS UNTIL A TOW TRUCK CAN COME. IT NEVER STALLS JUST SITTING SOMEWHERE CONVENIENT. NISSAN DID ALLOW SOME TESTING TO BE DONE THIS TIME, BUT GAVE ME THE VEHICLE BACK SAYING THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE.
I WANT NISSAN TO BUY IT BACK BECAUSE OF THE ALL RECALLS AND UNDER THE LEMON LAW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT VIBRATED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE TUNING SIGNALS REMAINED ACTIVATED AND A LOW ABNORMAL NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A VERY LOUD "CLUNKING" NOISE AND STARTED DESCENDING RAPIDLY, I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE, THE ERROR MESSAGE THAT CAME ON WAS "EMISSION SYSTEM ERROR" I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE OWNERS MANUAL TO CHECK THE FUEL DOOR TO SEE IF IT WAS OPEN, IT WAS NOT, THEY ALSO SAID THAT IT MAY BE THAT THERE WAS UNDER 3 GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE TANK WHICH THERE WAS NOT. THE MANUAL ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS OKAY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT 45 MPH, WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN, ANOTHER ERROR MESSAGE CAME ON WHEN I TRIED TO GO, IT STATED "CHASSIS SYSTEM ERROR". I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, DARLINGS NISSAN, THEY HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER, THEY CANNOT RE-CREATE THE ISSUE, YET THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS TOLD ME THAT IT IS NOT SAFE, THAT THEY DO NOT WANT ME BACK IN MY VEHICLE UNTIL THEY HAVE FOUND SOMETHING, THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR OVER 2 WEEKS WITH NOTHING BEING FOUND. THEY ARE HAVING A REGIONAL TECH COME TO TEST DRIVE EXTENSIVELY TO SEE IF HE CAN FIND SOMETHING. I HAVE READ ALL THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE COME TO ONE CONCLUSION, NISSAN DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT AND I AM SORRY I EVER SWITCHED FROM MY EXPLORER TO THIS HORRIBLE CONTRAPTION OF A CAR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 75 MPH IN VA ON HILLS WHEN THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD BLACKED OUT. I COULD NOT SEE THE RPMS, ACTUAL SPEED I WAS GOING AS THE SPEEDOMETER AND CENTRAL PANEL THAT DISPLAYS THE MILEAGE DRIVE WERE ALL BLACK. I STARTED TO PANIC THINKING THE CAR HAD JUST SHUT DOWN - I CANNOT RECALL IF THE RADIO PANEL WAS ALSO OFF. MY INSTINCTIVE RESPONSE WAS TO STEP ON THE GAS TO SEE IF THE CAR WAS RUNNING TO WHICH I FELT THE CAR SPEED UP BUT I STILL COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING ON THE DASH. I SUBSEQUENTLY PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF THE CAR. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND READINGS WERE VISIBLE WHEN I STARTED UP THE CAR. IN HINDSIGHT, THE DASH HAD APPEARED TO FLICKER EARLIER IN THE DRIVE BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY VISUAL ANGLE FROM LOOKING DOWN THROUGH MY BIFOCALS. I REPORTED IT TO MY DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER'S STAFF NOTED THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND NOTED TO BRING IT BACK WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING, IF IT RECURRED. NOT SURE IF THEY REALLY TESTED IT AS THE MAINTENANCE WAS DONE IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS WHICH ALSO INCLUDED AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. *TR
VEHICLE WAS BEING PARKED. AS DRIVER APPLIED BRAKES, VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD, JUMPING SIDEWALK CURB AND COLLIDED WITH TREE AT APPROXIMATELY 10MPH. ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN, DRIVER MANAGED TO GEAR TO REVERSE AND BACKED VEHICLE AWAY FROM TREE, OFF THE SIDEWALK, BACK OVER THE CURB, AND INTO PARKING SLIP. 2014 NISSAN ROGUE HAS A POSSIBLE IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE. WHEN VEHICLE IGNITION SWITCH IS SHUT-OFF, ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, RADIO, LIGHTS ETC., LOCKS FAIL TO EITHER SHUTDOWN COMPLETELY AND ELECTRIC LOCKS DISENGAGE. THIS MAY LEAD TO FURTHER ISSUE SUCH AS IN THE GM FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE AND THE SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF LIFE. NISSAN COMPANY HAS BEEN TOLD, BUT FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUE. *TR

ON SUNDAY JANUARY 11TH, 2014, MY FAMILY AND I WERE ON OUR WAY HOME. AFTER STOPPING AT A SERVICE STATION MY HUSBAND PULLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ACCELERATING TO THE APPROPRIATE SPEED AND THE CAR JUST GOT STUCK AT 6500 RPM'S AND 60 MPH. IT STAYED THAT WAY FOR ABOUT 5 MILES,WE COULD SLOW DOWN BUT THE RPM'S WERE STILL STUCK AT 6500 AND THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A HORRIBLE SOUND, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND SEVERAL TIMES WE HAD TO RIDE THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. WHEN WE FINALLY REACHED THE ROAD WE LIVE OFF OF MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND TURN WHILE TURNING THE AWFUL NOISE GOT A LITTLE LOWER BUT A NEW NOISE WAS HEARD, A WHINING SOUND. AFTER TURNING, THE CAR LOST ALL GAS, NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS PUSHED AND THEN FINALLY IT STARTED TO GO AGAIN. WE ARRIVED AT OUR HOME MY HUSBAND OPENED THE HOOD AND TOLD ME TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR A LITTLE AND THEN HE SAW SMALL PUFFS OF SMOKE. I SMELLED SOMETHING LIKE BURNING RUBBER WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND MY HUSBAND SAID HE SMELLED SOMETHING SWEET UNDER THE HOOD. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW ON JANUARY 4TH, 2014, IT HAD 25 MILES WHEN PURCHASED. THE MILEAGE ON JANUARY 11TH WAS AROUND 500. THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE, I AM WAITING ON THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL AND LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY FIND. *TR
