TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DRIVING AT 20 MPH AND EXITING THE ON RAMP, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE POLICE PULLED THE DRIVER OVER DUE TO THE VEHICLE REVERSING IN THE INTERSTATE WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO A LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V401000 (EQUIPMENT) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE THAT OCCURRED HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 179,000.

THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING ON LONGER DRIVES IN WARMER WEATHER. THE CAR STALLS AND STOPS ACCELERATING AND EVENTUALLY STOPS RUNNING ALTOGETHER. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN MY DAUGHTER IS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK AS IT RENDERS THE CAR DISABLED IN TRAFFIC.

WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS. WHEN CLIMBING A HILL THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WENT FROM 75 MPH TO 35 MPH. WOULD NOT GO OVER 2000 RPM. WE HAD RECENTLY BEEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUT WEREN'T WHEN THIS HAPPENED. NO ENGINE LIGHTS OR PROBLEM INDICATORS CAME ON. WE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OPENED THE HOOD BUT NOTHING APPEARED TO BE WRONG OR OVERHEATING. WE WAITED 10 MINUTES AND CONTINUED ON THE HIGHWAY. EVERYTHING WAS FINE AFTER THAT, BUT WE DIDN'T GO UP ANYMORE HILLS. MILEAGE AT 100000

MY CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I COULD BE DRIVING AT 65MPH THEN IT JUST SLOWS TO ABOUT 35MPH FOR NO REASON AND MAKES A WHINING NOISE. IF I AM AT A STOP SIGN, I WILL HIT THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WONT GO ANYWHERE. I'M SCARED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN NOW OR CROSS AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE IF MY CAR WILL GO ANYWHERE. I'VE NEARLY BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES. NISSAN IS NOT COOPERATING WITH ME. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, PAID FOR A DIAGNOSIS WHICH THEY NOW SAY IS THE 'BRAKE SWITCH." I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF PARK IS TO USE THE SHIFT LOCK WITH THE KEY, MOVE THE LEVER TO NEUTRAL. THEN I AM ABLE TO START MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN GEAR.

ON 12/7/15 I HONESTLY THOUGHT SOMEONE SHOT AT MY CAR! DRIVING ON ROUTE 7 IN KEARNY, N.J., NO OTHER VEHICLES NEAR MINE. I HAD THE INTERIOR SHADE CLOSED, BUT COULD HEAR PIECES OF GLASS BREAKING AND REALIZED IT WAS MY SUNROOF THAT WAS COMING APART. I CALLED INSURANCE AND THEY ASKED IF I HAD DRIVEN UNDER AN OVERPASS, NO MENTION OF EXPLOSION. I PAID TO HAVE THE SUNROOF REPLACED AT LIDO AUTO BODY IN BELLEVILLE COSTING ME $303.35. HAVE PHOTOS AND INVOICE, I AM 68 AND DO NOT POSSESS THE TECHNOLOGY OR KNOWHOW TO "UPLOAD" THESE BUT WILL HAPPILY MAIL THESE.

I WAS DRIVING WHEN I SUDDENLY NOTICED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY THEN THE ENGINE SPLUTTERED AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED AND I HAD TO TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. I PARKED ON THE ROADSIDE WHEN ABLE TO AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND REGAINED SPEED BUT THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT RESPONSIVE HOWEVER WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE ENGINE SPLUTTERED AGAIN AND HAD TO PARK AND CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE DIAGNOSIS FROM NISSAN WAS THAT THE RADIATOR HAD A "HOLE" IN IT AND WARRANTY DID NOT COVER AS THE MILEAGE HAD EXCEEDED 36,000. I WAS PUZZLED WHY THE RADIATOR OF A RELATIVELY NEW CAR WITHOUT ANY FOREWARNING WOULD DEVELOP THIS KIND OF PROBLEM AND I WAS NOT PREPARED TO PAY THE HIGH REPAIR COST, WHICH CONVINCED THERE MAY BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE RADIATOR FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

OVER THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 16TH, I DROVE MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE FROM MD TO WILLIAMSBURG, VA AND BACK. MY FAMILY WAS ALMOST KILLED IN A CAR CRASH BECAUSE THE NISSAN ROGUE FAILED TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE ON A BUSY INTERSECTION. FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE A TOTAL OF 4 MORE TIMES COMING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. IF I DRIVE THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS ON HIGHWAY AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY, IT TAKES ABOUT 5-6 SECONDS TO REACH A SPEED OF ABOUT 10MPH. THE NEXT DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING FINE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE NOT GETTING ANY CODES FROM THE COMPUTER. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE OVERNIGHT AND HAD A TECHNICIAN DRIVE IT BACK AND FORTH FROM WORK TO HOME AND BACK TO WORK BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER CHECKING THE ODOMETER, THE COMPUTERS MPH AVERAGE SPEED AND THE AREA WHERE THE CAR WAS DRIVEN, TURNS OUT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS, IT WAS STOP AND GO DRIVING. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS FOR THIS PROBLEM TO OCCUR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I NEVER KNOW IF MY FAMILY WILL LOOSE THEIR LIVES ON THE NEXT BUSY INTERSECTION. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TAKING PLACE AL OVER THE NATION. NISSAN HAS NOT POSTED ANY BULLETINS OR RECALLS IN THIS MATTER BUT SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE NOW BEFORE THERE IS A CASUALTY ON THE ROAD. DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM?
