Your steering wheel has become tight and felt like it was locking up, making it difficult to control your car. This has happened three times, and the most recent occurrence resulted in a crash. The steering system may need inspection to identify why it's becoming unresponsive.

Your steering wheel vibrates on and off while driving, starting right after you bought the car. The dealership couldn't reproduce the problem during the first visit, but you're concerned this could be related to steering issues reported in other 2024 Altimas. The vibration continues and you want it properly diagnosed and fixed before it becomes unsafe.

When you start your car, the engine revs high and stays above 2,000 RPM for over a minute before dropping to idle—longer than normal. When you shift into Drive, the car lurches hard and sometimes feels like it almost skids or slides, making acceleration unpredictable. The steering also feels like it's skipping or stuttering when backing up. These issues don't happen every time but occur frequently enough to feel unsafe.

When you turn your 2024 Nissan Altima, you hear a clicking sound coming from the passenger side. You suspect this may be related to a safety recall issued for certain vehicles and want your car inspected to see if it's affected. Contact your Nissan dealer with your vehicle's VIN to check if your car qualifies for the recall and have them diagnose the clicking noise.

This request is due to my concern that a possible manufacturing or other defect in the 2024 Nissan Altima’s steering and/or wheel mechanisms caused a sudden loss of steering control and resulted in a collision and serious injuries. The car was taken possession by National Car Rental. I am unsure if the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others, but it has been reported to the manufacturer (Nissan), my insurance company (State Farm), and the car rental company (National). I don't think there were any warning lights. The following is what I experienced. I was driving, passengers were in the front and rear right seats. The car was in the right lane on [XXX] heading into an underpass when the Altima experienced a sudden jolt in the steering wheel with smoke coming out of the steering wheel; steering turned very stiff as if it had lost power and the car pulled to the right and off the road. I struggled to maintain control over the vehicle; nonetheless, given the narrow shoulder of the underpass and the sudden difficult steering, the car collided lengthwise along the passenger side against a cement barrier and metal guardrail. The front and back passenger-side airbags deployed, striking both passengers; rear seat passenger was seriously injured; driver and front passenger were bruised.
