Your hood latch failed while driving, causing the hood to suddenly fly open to a fully vertical position. This blocked your visibility of the road and caused damage to both fenders. Although the latch had been replaced by a Nissan dealer in 2022 as part of a recall, it failed again. The dealer replaced the latch at no charge, but Nissan USA refused to pay for the resulting body damage to your fenders.

Your car is shuddering, hesitating when you accelerate, and lacks power, along with transmission noise. The diagnostic code P17F1 (CVT Judder) appeared even though no check engine light came on. The left rear arm snapped completely and is now dangling along with the spring link and other parts connected to it. The car is not drivable and I have to have a on-site mechanic come out to fix it. I had been driving the car on the highway the day it happened and luckily made it back to my house, then about 20 minutes later I had to go back out but when I put the car into reverse and started backing down the driveway a loud snap followed by scraping metal occurred. Now the car is stationary on the curb. The right rear arm's condition is also bad, showing signs of snapping in the near future as well. My mechanic along with research I've conducted has informed me that this is an extremely common problem with nissan sedans that happen frequently. I had insurance on this exact part of the car but it unfortunately expired May of this year. I filed a claim with Nissan directly and they proved to serve no help. If the rear arm had snapped just a little bit earlier in the day when I was on the highway it would have most likely resulted in major accident that would have left me injured.

Dealership never contacted me after recall stated they didn't have part available.
My Nissan Altima would not accelerate properly. I was told that to drive the car could put me at risk as the car might totally stop. The dealer diagnosed that the CVT transmission failed. It cost over $5,000 to replace the transmission. 1. Is there any recourse as a consumer? 2. I understand that Nissan has been involved in several class action lawsuits, but I don't know what happened. Is there agency that can help me with information?
The hood of my car flew up while I was driving and hit my windshield
I was driving for approximately one hour on Interstate 95N. In heavy traffic, but still at speed limit. Then exited onto Rt. 40 N. For about 10 minutes. When I turned onto the back road to my destination, my car instantly started swerving all over the road. I had to immediately pull off into the grass to get off the road. I had to be towed. The driver side rear control arm broke completely in half. It is severely rusted. I had to replace both sides, because the other side is rusted also. I was lucky it didn't happen moments earlier while driving at a high speed on the highway. I would most likely have lost control of my vehicle. And in heavy traffic, it's very likely that other cars would have been in danger due to the failure of my car. I saw that there was a recall on the 2013 Nissans, and I believe that 2014 owners also should have been made aware of the rust issues. I have only had my car for about 2 years bought from Carvana. I had a hood latch recall, but I honestly feel my life and others could have been horrifically affected by this, the use of inferior materials or lack of protective coating or whatever the cause. I have never seen a car under ten years old corroded like this.
While driving, the car began to hesitate and studder during acceleration. I had to stop at a red light. Once I began to drive again the car shut off and the engine and battery icon came on. I was able to start the car again and move out of traffic. However, the studdering/hesitance continue. I called AAA to complete a battery and diagnostic test which they found no problems with battery, cables, alternator, etc. I was told to contact the dealer and report it. I contacted Nissan and was told there’s no recalls.
Sat 12/3/2022 ~2:15PM Hood latch failure resulting in the hood flying open while driving. (See NHTSA Recall 20V-315). *********************************** History: Thu 12/1/2022: Same Nissan service center (Delaney Nissan State College PA) that performed the hood latch recall repair did some additional work/maintenance on the vehicle that would have had them opening the hood. July 2021: Delaney Nissan State College PA performed the hood latch recall (Nissan # R21A6) *********************************** Driving hi-way speeds (55-60 mph) on Sat 12/3, the hood flew open, slamming back to the windshield, including damaging the roof. My wife was in the passenger seat and my adult daughter was in the backseat. No injuries, no damage to anything other than the car I was driving. Note: Neither my wife nor I noticed any hood vibration while driving, which might indicate that the hood was not seated fully/correctly. Car was taken to Delaney Nissan's extension body shop (Delaney Collision Center State College PA). The Collision Center did two things: 1: Inspect the hood latch mechanism for failure 2: Assess / estimate the damage. Wed 12/14, the Collosion center said 1: it "was not a faulty latch". They used a screw driver to verify the primary latch although they did say the secondary latch was in need of maintenance, needing lubrication and showed signs of corrosion. 2: $8,068.48 damage Note: I do have photos, that I will have to dig out and upload if you need them.
I’m reporting that all four locks on the car doors inside simultaneously broke one by one in the same way clearly this is an manufacturer issue and unsafe and doesn’t allow passengers to exit vehicle from the inside.

I WAS DRIVING AS WE WERE GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE HOOD POPPED UP AND WE PULL ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY ANS NOTICE IT WAS DAMAGED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CORNER TOP OF THE HOOD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE WITH RECALL ON AUGUST 30,2021 AND REALIZE NO ONE CALLED BACK SO, I STOPPED IN AND THEY TOLD ME THE BODY SHOPS WERE ALL FULL AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO MY CAR UNTIL 9/22/21 BUT I STAY IN TOUCH WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER EVERY TIME EMAIL HIM HE WOULD SAY THEY STILL OVERWHELM DONE TO STORM THAT OCCURS IN NEW JERSEY IN SEPTEMEBER SO I NEEDED MY CAR BECAUSE THE WARRANT HAD RAN OUT SOI COULDN'T GET A LOANER. SO I TOLD THEM I CAN'T LEAVE MY CAR UNTIL I WAS SURE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE BODY SHOP INSTEAD OF IT SITTING THERE. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DO THE RECALL UNTIL REPAIR ON THE HOOD HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE SO HAVE NOT RETURNED YET SO NOW IM WONDERING IF CAN GET TAKEN CARE OF AT THE DEALERSHIP NEAR HOME BRIDGEWATER NJ DEALERSHIP.
I am trying to ship my vehicle from Grafenwoehr, Germany (military base) to Colorado, United States. I have the safety recall for my hood but none of the dealerships near me, can help me fix the issue so I can ship my vehicle back to the states. I was told I need some documentation saying this. So I can ship my vehicle. Can i get help please.
I've been to two different Nissan service dealerships with the past month and neither have been able to fix the hood latch recall from May 2020.
Twice in 2 months my hood popped opened while driving on the interstate with my family in the car. The second time it popped open I was in the HOV lane which consisted of only one lane so it was quite the scare especially because there was no where safe that I could pull over. I took it to the car dealer shortly after the incident occurred and they maintenance the secondary hood latch but never did anything to the primary hood latch which should have never had opened especially while I was driving. I put in a claim with Nissan regarding the primary hood latch disengaging on its own two times in 2 months. I specifically told them numerous times that I do not feel safe driving my car anymore in that I would like to be financially compensated because now I have to go out and purchase another vehicle. I explained to them that I did not plan on buying a new car especially because my Nissan only had 77,000 MIles on it and was paid in full. I had also told them that I'm on a fixed income and having to purchase a new vehicle along with taking on car payments would cost me and my family a tremendous financial hardship. As of today Nissan has not done anything to compensate me. They are saying that I must have accidentally disengaged the primary hood latch both times the hood popped open.
MY NISSAN IS A 2014 AND ONLY HAD 59,000 MILES ON IT. MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY SHOT AND THIS IS UNHEARD OF. IT'S A CVT MADE FROM NISSAN AND THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF THIS SITUATION SO NOW I AM OUT $2600-$4100 BECAUSE NISSAN HAS DECIDED IT DOES NOT WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND CREATE A RECALL.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM CARMAX WITH A FULL UNDERSTANDING THAT IT WAS PROPERLY SERVICED. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS, FOR MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND OVERHEATING. SATURDAY MORNING I WENT OUTSIDE TO CRANK MY CAR SO IT CAN WARM AND IT WOULDN'T START. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, PAYING ALMOST $400 A MONTH FOR A CAR I BARELY DRIVE.
WHEN M VEHICLE GETS BETWEEN 1000-2000 RPM THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND HAS PROBLEM PICKING UP SPEED. ONCE OVER THE 2000 RPM, THE VEHICLE HAS NO PROBLEMS.
IT MAKING A LOUD SOUND SINCE I HAD NEW BRAKES PUT ON
I FEEL LIKE THE RECALL ON MY CAR HAS BEEN OPEN FOR TOO LONG AND NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE YET TO FIX THE ISSUE.
I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 70MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND, SIMILAR TO A SHOTGUN BLAST. I THEN IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO HEAR GLASS SHATTERING. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED MY SUNROOF WAS LITERALLY SHATTERING INTO MILLIONS OF PIECES.
RANDOMLY THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE EVEN AFTER PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. EVENTUALLY IT WILL SLOWLY START TO ROLL AND GET GOING AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC SHOP SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ISSUES HAVE BEEN FOUND. THIS HAPPENS AFTER COMING TO A STOP, AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. HASN'T MADE A DIFFERENCE WHETHER ON FLAT GROUND OR A HILL. THE VEHICLE WILL GO WEEKS WITHOUT AN ISSUE, AND THEN RANDOMLY START/STOP AGAIN. SOME WEEKS IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. SOME TIMES IT STARTS TO ACT THIS WAY UPON START UP AND OTHER TIMES I COULD BE TRAVELING FOR A LITTLE WHILE, STOP AT A LIGHT, AND TRY TO TAKE OFF AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO ACCELERATE ON A RIGHT HAND TURN AFTER STOPPING AND THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE. THIS HAS LEAD TO US ALMOST GETTING PLOWED INTO. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS ISSUE WITH NO SOLUTION, AS TO NO MECHANIC HAS BEEN ABLE TO SEE ANY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA MY TRUCK OPENED AND AS I PROCEEDED TO SHUT MY TRUNK IT WOULD NOT SHUT. I NOTICED THAT THE TRUNK LATCH WAS STUCK I TRUED TO USE A SCREW DRIVER STILL NO SUCCESS THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.
TAKATA RECALL: THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY 2014 ALTIMA HAS SOMEHOW BROKEN FROM THE INSIDE-OUT. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT IT BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING OVER THE LAST YEAR. IT WILL NOT STAY CLIPPED INTO PLACE AND IT SEEMS THE CLIP OR SOME PIECE INSIDE OF THE VISOR AFFECTS THE ABILITY FOR THE VISOR TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VISOR BEING BROKEN IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT PROHIBITS MY VIEW AS THE DRIVER AND THE VISOR SWINGS INTO MY VIEW WHEN TURNING. WHEN THE VISOR IS LOCKED IN PLACE, I HAVE TO CROUCH DOWN TO SEE UNDER IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A HAZARD AND CONCERN FOR MANY OTHER NISSAN OWNERS. THE REAL ISSUE OF SAFETY AND THE HAZARD IS THAT THE VISOR WASN'T BROKEN DUE TO POOR USE, IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM ITS INCEPTION.
SUDDENLY 3 OF THE 4 DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, CAUSING AN UNSAFE SITUATION THAT 3 PEOPLE CAN NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IN THE CASE OF A COLLISION OR VEHICLE FIRE!
LACH IN HOOD DOESN'T WORK AND I'M SCARED IT WILL OPEN WHILE I'M DRIVING AND MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER MANIFOLD IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY (ENGINE LIGHT ON)
MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA'S HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME VERY DIM THE PAST COUPLE YEARS. I AM AWARE THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR NISSAN HEADLIGHTS AS WELL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. I CAN BARELY SEE UNLESS MY HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. THIS PROBLEM HAS ALSO BEEN DANGEROUS IN THE RAIN AND I'VE ALMOST GOTTEN IN ACCIDENTS. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL THE HEADLIGHTS. I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE WITH AN ALTIMA BETWEEN 2013-2015 WHO HAVE GOTTEN IN ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE VERY DIM HEADLIGHTS. MY HUSBAND HAS A JEEP AND HIS HEADLIGHTS ARE NOTICEABLY BETTER. NISSAN CANNOT DAY THEIR VEHICLE IS SAFE IF THIS IS HAPPENING. IT'S SIMPLY NOT TRUE.
ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AGO BACK IN AUGUST 2018 MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT STALLED. HE EXPLAINED THAT IT JUST STALLED BUT WOULD START BACK UP AND THEN WHEN HE WOULD SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE, IT WOULD STALL OUT AGAIN. WE THEN TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE WHAT IT DID WITH MY HUSBAND. SO, THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND UPDATED IT. FAST FORWARD THIS PAST FRIDAY ON JANUARY 11TH, 2019, I WAS AT A RED STOP SIGN, WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR STALLS. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT ME BECAUSE IT JUST JOLTED TO A STOP SO SUDDENLY IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE HIT MY CAR. SAME THING HAPPENED THAT OCCURRED WITH MY HUSBAND. SHUT OFF CAR, RESTARTS PERFECTLY, THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND STALLS. I GET A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. EVEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID HE'S NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, AND THAT HE DROVE IT OFF THE TOW TRUCK NO PROBLEM. I GET A CALL TWO DAYS LATER FROM NISSAN SAYING THAT IT SHOWS UP AS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THAT IT WILL COST AROUND $5,000 TO REPLACE IT. NO EXPLANATION TO WHY A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CAR THAT HAS BEEN PERFECTLY MAINTAINED WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. OF COURSE, THE WARRANTY IS ONLY COVERED AT 60,000 MILES SO I HAD NO WAY OF COVERAGE. THAT DAY I DID INVESTIGATING ON WEBSITES TO FIND A RECALL OR ANY INFORMATION. WHAT I FOUND WAS DESCRIBING EXACTLY WHAT OCCURRED WITH MY CAR AND TO LOTS AND LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS VEHICLE! I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY CREATED A CASE NUMBER FOR ME. I JUST RECEIVED A CALL TODAY FROM THEM STATING: "NISSAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU IN ANY WAY." THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE WITH EITHER THE TRANSMISSION OR A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT IS SAYING IT'S A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMERS OF THIS VEHICLE OR IF PEOPLE ARE BEING WRONGFULLY CHARGED MONEY.
I WAS DRIVING MY NISSAN ALTIMA HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON A BUSY STREET, SIMILAR TO A HIGHWAY AND IT KEPT STOPPING EVERYTIME I TRIED TO TAKE OFF. IT WOULD DRIVE AND TURN OFF I WOULD HAVE TO CRANK IT BACK UP AND IT WOULD DRIVE A BIT AND THEN ABRUPTLY TURN BACK OFF. I TOOK IT BACK THAT SAME DAY AND WAS ASSURED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE NEXT MONTH I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT ON MY WAY TO WORK AND AS I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN IT PULLED OFF A BIT AND JUST TURNED OFF AND WOULDN'T COME BACK ON. I LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RUN SINCE APRIL
TRANSMISSION ISSUES RELATED TO CVT TRANSMISSION. CAUSES CAR TO STALL OR SIGNIFICANTLY DELAY WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS. KNOWN ISSUE BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER WITHOUT A 'DIAGNOSIS' WHICH IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET AS THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT BUT INTERMITTENT. WAS TOLD ONLY WAY TO FIX THE WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITHOUT A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS ON MY VEHICLE IS IF THERE IS AN NTSB RECALL. GIVEN THE SIGNIFICANT RISK ASSOCIATED WITH A CAR THAT STALLS WHEN YOU ARE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, I WOULD LIKE THE NTSB TO BE AWARE OF THIS AND DETERMINE IF THE RISK TO THE CONSUMER OUTWEIGHS THE COST TO THE MANUFACTURER.
WHEN STARTING VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTING TO MOVE GEAR SHIFTER INTO A DIFFERENT GEAR FROM PARK, GEAR SHIFTER WON'T MOVE. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES IS WHEN IT'LL WORK. FOOT IS PRESSED ON BRAKE.
2014 ALTIMA WITH LESS THAN 70,000 MILES AC MALFUNCTION. AC IS BLOWING HOT AIR DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SUCH A NEW CAR AC IS ALREADY BAD....
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WITH THE A/C ON AND IT WAS COOLING FINE, ONCE I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT THE SYSTEM START BLOWING HOT AIR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHICH THEY PUT .5 OF FREON IN AND SAID THE A/C SHOULD BE FINE, BUT AFTER A FEW HOURS THE PROBLEM RECURRED.
WHEN TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE IT TAKES 3 OR 4 TIMES TO TURN OVER AND START I KNOW IT IS NOT THE BATTERY JUST GOT A NEW BATTERY WITH 60 MONTH WARRANTY.
I WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD GOING APPX 35 MPH. STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AND MY CAR DRIFTED. THE BRAKES WOULDNT EVEN WORK. MY RADIO AND LIGHTS REMAINED FUNCTIONAL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. THE ENGINE ONLY STAYED ON IN NEUTRAL OR PARK.
TOOK CAR IN FOR CVT RECALL ON 3/12/2018 , CAR WAS FINE BEFORE THE RECALL UPDATE WAS DONE, WHEN I PICK THE CAR UP IT VIBRATES ON ACCELERATION AND GOING DOWN HILLS WITH A LOCKING MOTION , THE CAR WAS DRIVING PERFECT UNTIL THEY DID THE RECALL UPDATE , DEALER CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AFTER RECALL OF CVT, CLEARLY IT CAUSE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AFTER RECALL IS IMPLEMENTED

NISSAN RECALLED ALTIMAS THREE TIMES IN THE PAST TO REPAIR HOOD LATCHES THAT CAN CAUSE HOODS TO FLY OPEN HOWEVER THERE IS NO RECALL CAMPAIGN ASSOCIATED WITH ENCLOSED VIN NUMBER. DAMAGES WERE HANDLED BY INSURANCE COMPANY.

BOUGHT A NEW NISSAN ALTIMA AND WE HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH ONLY 74,196 MILES.
I'VE HAD MY SUNROOF REPLACED BACK IN 2014- 10 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2014 ALTIMA BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING RAIN WATER INTO MY VEHICLE. FAST FORWARD TO NOW, IT'S STILL LEAKING WATER INTO MY VEHICLE AND NOW I'M SEEING REPORTS OF SPONTANEOUS SHATTERING OF THE SUNROOFS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MINE SHATTERING WITH MY TODDLER IN THE VEHICLE.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP, THE CAR SHOOK TO A STOP , ENGINE REVVED UP AND SHUT OFF.. I WAS AT A BUSY STOP LIGHT INTERSECTION. I TURNED CAR ENGINE BACK ON AND PRESS THE GAS PEDAL , THEN CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. I TRIED ONE MORE TIME AND WAS ABLE TO STEER CAR INTO PARLOR. WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR, HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANIC HAS THE VEHICLE GOR 18 DAYS AND CANNOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE OUR PROBLEM. I GOLFED THIS PROBLEMS AND THERE IS A NATIONWIDE PROBLEM WITH CARS THAT GAVE THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. THE CAR COULD SHUT DOWN AND CAUSE ACCIDENT AND WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROVE THAT THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. PLEASE HELP, THIS IS DANGEROUS.
CAR PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2014 JUST BARELY 3 YEARS OLD THE AC COMPRESSOR WENT OUT IN THE CAR AT THE END OF JULY 2017. DRIVING ON THE THE HIGHWAY NO NOISE THE AC STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR. TURNED THE AIR OFF AND REACHED MY DESTINATION PARKED THE CAR AND TURNED THE AIR BACK ON STARTED OUT COOL THEN RIGHT BACK TO HOT AIR TURNED THE THERMOMETER DOWN TO 60 NO CHANGE. HAD TO DRIVE BACK HOME WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN BUT NEVER HEARD ANY STRANGE NOISES WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN PARKED. TOOK THE CAR TO MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND BASED ON MY DESCRIPTION ALONE THE TECH SAID IT WAS THE AC COMPRESSOR AND SAID THAT THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS WITH THE AC IN THIS MODEL CAR AND QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $1300. HAD ANOTHER REPAIR TECH CHECK AND ALSO CONFIRMED THE COMPRESSOR WAS NOT WORKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, THIS TECH OUTSIDE OF NISSAN SAID THE SAME THING THE NISSAN TECH SAID ABOUT THIS MODEL VEHICLE HAVING AC COMPRESSOR PROBLEMS. THE CAR IS PRIMARILY DRIVEN TO WORK AND HOME WITH A FEW TRIPS WITHIN 600 MILES ROUND TRIP.
ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, THEN SLOWING DOWN A LOT. AT ONE POINT I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BC THE CAR JUST WOULDN'T ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WE STAYED THERE FOR A BIT WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR DECIDED TO WORK AGAIN TO WE SPED OUT OF THERE AND MADE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY I CONTACTED NISSAN AND TOLD THEM THE SITUATION AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION AND TO TAKE IT I. TO A DEALERSHIP TO THE CAN SO A THING THEY CALL CVT REPROGRAMMING. SO I DID THE NEXT DAY. THE TOW TRUCK CAME AND PICKED IT UP, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SUPPOSEDLY THEY FIXED IT. SO I WENT TO GO PICK UP THE CAR, AND AT FIRST IT WAS FINE, IT WAS JERKING JUST A LITTLE BUT I FIGURED IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE REPROGRAMMING, THE CAR WAS STILL ADJUSTING. THEN I GOT TO MY FIRST STOP LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE THEN IS STARTED GOI G REALLY REALLY SLOW AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT ACCELERATED SO FAST IT WAS SCARY. I MADE IT ABOUT 10 MINS OUT WHEN I DECIDED IT NEEDED TO GO BACK BC IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT FIXED. ON THE WAY BACK I ALMOST GOT IN A TERRIFYING ACCIDENT AND ALMOST DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT. I WAS AT A STOP SIGN WAITING TO GO ONTO A 2 WAY STREET WITH NO OTHER STOP SIGHS. THE CAR WAS DOING JUST FINE SO I WENT FOR IT AND IN THE MIDDLE OF BOTH STREETS THE CAR SLOWED DOWN QUITE AGGRESSIVELY & THERE WERE 2 CARS HEADED TAPED ME ON FULL SPEED FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. TERRIFYING. EVENTUALLY I MADE T BACK AND THE GUY HELPING ME WAS SO HELPFUL. GAVE ME A RENTAL AND EVERYTHING. THE NEXT DAY HE CALL AND SAYS I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND IT WAS GOING TO BE $3600. SO I CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO BC IT'S NOT FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. AND NOW THEY WON'T CONTACT ME BACK AND I HAVE NO ODE WHATS GOING ON WITH MY CAR.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING IN THE MORNING WHILE OUT RUNNING ERRANDS. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE THEN ATTEMPTED TO EXIT BUT THE DOOR HANDLE WOULD NOT OPEN THE CAR DOOR. I FEARED I WOULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR. I MANAGED TO CLIMB OVER THE CONSOLE AND EXIT THROUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. I HAVE SPOKEN TO A SERVICE TECH AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND HE INFORMED ME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES AS WELL. HE FURTHER STATED IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $1,000 OUT OF MY OWN POCKET TO REPAIR THE HANDLE. THIS IS A PRODUCT LIABILITY ISSUE WHICH CLEARLY PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.

SO YOU NEED TO VERIFY THIS AND MAKE CORRECTIONS ACCORDINGLY. I DON'T SEE RECALL FOR AIRBAGS FOR THIS VEHICLE.
CVT TRANSMISSION. I WAS AT THE INTERSECTION OF PAGE AVE AND SEVEN UP DRIVE IN OVERLAND, MO, AND MY CAR STOPPED. I STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND PARK THE CAR IN DRIVE AND IT ROLLED BACKWARDS. I PUT THE CAR BACK IN PARK, PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS, AND CALLED ROADSIDE SERVICE. MY DAUGHTER (7YRS) AND I WERE TERRIFIED. CARS WERE A FEW 100 FEET FROM HITTING US. I WAS CONSTANTLY WAVING CARS TO GO AROUND MY CAR. THE OVERLAND POLICE FINALLY ARRIVED (1 HOUR LATER) AND PUSHED MY CAR TO A SAFER LOCATION SO IT COULD BE TOWED. MY CAR WAS LATER TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT MY CVT (TRANSMISSION) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
RADIO/NAVIGATION REBOOTS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WHOLE SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN--NO RADIO. SOMETIMES WHEN I START THE CAR, THE RADIO BUTTONS ARE DIM/GRAYED OUT AND THE RADIO DOESN'T PLAY.
ON APPROXIMATELY JUNE 19, 2015 I STARTED EXPERIENCING SLUGGISH TAKE OFF FROM A STOP POSITION IN MY CAR. NOTICEABLY AFTER WORK, ON THE WAY HOME IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AFTER 7-10 MILES INTO MY TRANSIT (WITH OUTSIDE TEMPS IN THE 90'S). DIDN'T HAPPEN EVERYDAY, ONLY WHEN TRAFFIC WAS REALLY BAD (STOP AND GO). I TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 29TH TO HAVE THIS CHECKED OUT; DEALERSHIP REPAIR DROVE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 16-MILES AND FOUND NO HESITATION WHILE DRIVING DURING THAT TIME. ON JULY 2ND, ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK THE SLUGGISHNESS TURNED INTO A CRITICAL, SERIOUS 'HESITATION' PROBLEM. MY FOOT WAS PRESSING ON GAS PEDAL BUT CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, I WAS HOLDING UP TRAFFIC, I PRESSED HARDER AND HARDER AND THEN MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT ON TWO OCCASIONS; THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY ALL THE WAY HOME (FOR THE NEXT 5+ MILES) - I DROVE WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS. CALLED DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY I SPOKE WITH RECEPTIONIST ASKING TO SPEAK WITH SERVICE MANAGER, LEFT HIM VOICEMAIL MESSAGE/CALL NEVER RETURNED CALLED BACK COUPLE OF TIMES ONLY TO GET VOICEMAIL. MADE APPOINTMENT ONLINE & TOOK CAR IN ON JULY 7TH. CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP EVER SINCE. ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER STATES THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I EXPLAINED I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR; ESPECIALLY WITH TWO MISSED CAR CRASHES. THAT WAS ENOUGH FOR ME! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I DON'T WANT THIS CAR ANYMORE.
