I was driving on a 2 lane highway when my car starting bucking and completely went dead. I walked to a station where i got help. after that it happened again and I had to be towed. After having car looked at by 2 mechanics I found out it was the transmission. The mechanic said he was surprised as I didn't even have 70,000 miles on car. It cost me over $5,000 for the transmission and then I came to find out about all the Nissan recalls. I wrote a letter to them and attached articles and my proof of receipt from transmission place, and explained that I am a senior on a fixed income and just wanted the money to cover expenses of what the transmission costs due to their faulty transmissions. They said they could not help me. Also, my sons car came to have the same transmission problem but he got rid of it.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a Service Station where the contact used a self-diagnostic tool to determine that the Transmission Control Module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
We have a 2014 Nissan Altima. Last few months it has not been driving right. We have had mechanics look at it with no answer. When the problems got worse, suggestions were made that a new transmission was needed. No one was wanting to work on it at that point. The car finally broke down while at a stoplight and we had to have it towed home. When we went to the bank, we were told that in that timeframe of when 2014 Altima’s were manufactured, a new type of transmission was installed. Then was told after a few years the transmission went bad. I would like to know if there is any truth to this, and if our Altima was a statistic of that.
I have purchased low pressure AC hose part from the local Nissan Altima dealer as there is a mechanical design issue where the low pressure AC hose is rubbing with the other part and causing a damage to the hose thus leaking refrigerant gas and spilling on the floor. I have replaced this part twice. The first time I replaced this part did not understand the real issue, the second time I have taken a closer look and found out that the low pressure ac hose is rubbing with the other part of the engine which is next to it, I went back to the dealer and informed the situation and requested to cover the warranty. He did not even bothered to look into my issue and ignored me. I had to replace the part twice due to a poor design issue and this is also a safety hazard. I have then contacted Nissan Manufacturer customer service and explained the issue, they also ignored my complaint without a resolution. I request your intervention and resolve this issue.
I just bought a 2014 Nissan Altima as is from a Nissan Dealer. As the car warms up I'm getting carbon monoxide fumes coming into the car. Car was purchased at Nissan dealership as is! I took it to an auto shop and according to the computer it doesn't show any dash light warnings and cannot find the source of the problem. The car cost me $23,000.00! The torque converter in my 2014 Nissan Altima S locked up according to the inspection done by my local Nissan dealership. This vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of my passenger was put at risk as my car stalled while pulling into the center median lane of a busy street. My problem has been confirmed by the inspection done by my local Nissan dealership. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the incident.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking. While in reverse, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no additional assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 117,081.
CVT failed Car struggled to move if you go to 0 stop in signal or in freeway due to heavy traffic. Engine warning sign appeared in dashboard.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while his mother was driving in stop and go traffic, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. Upon doing research online, the contact discovered a technique that would cause the vehicle to reset itself once the failure occurred. The contact eventually took the vehicle to a dealer; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact also found information that the failure with his vehicle could be linked to the camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The VIN was not available.
I was driving and I had noticed car was about to stall out. I was in major traffic and my car shut completely down in rush hour traffic. There's a recall for CTV transmission. I had taken my car to the dealership numerous of time for them to fix the recall. The service representative had advised that they don't have the CTV parts yet. So on October 14 2021 my 2014 Nissan Altima SV shutdown on a major highway a d that God I didn't get hit. I had to call a tow truck and they towed my car to the Nissan dealership. I'm still waiting on Nissan Headquarters for an answer. Also Nissan Headquarters gave me a case number

MY CAR HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY SMOG MECHANIC HAS CHECKED IT, HE STATED IT NEEDED A MASS AIRFLOW SENSER. HE INSTALLED IT. $$$$$$ LIGHT WENT OUT, CAME BACK ON IN A DAY OR TO. HE ORDERED ANOTHER ONE, SAME THING HAPPENED. I AM REALLY TIRED OF THIS. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, ONLY HAS 68000 MILES ON IT. HELP ME OUT, WHATS THE PROBLEM. I NOTICED THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS NO CLUE!!!!!! HELP ME PLEASE
I HAVE HAD CONTINOUS TRANSMISSION SINCE I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5SL. IT WAS REPLACED IN 2015 NEW TRANSMISSION BY THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, AS RECENT AS MAY I HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT RESULTED IN CVT GETTING FIXED. THEN IN JULY SIMILIAR ISSUE WHICH DEALERSHIP REPORTED THERE WAS AN UPDATE NEEDED ON MY CAR, A SELONID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER SPENDING OVER 2,000 ON MY CAR IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AND NOT ABLE TO ACCELARATE ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS CAUSED A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE AND IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT NISSAN AND THE DEALERSHIP NEED TO ADDRESS. I AM REQUESTING REIMUBURSEMENT, EXTENSION OF WARRANTY, AND FOR MY TRANSMISSION CVT TO BE FIXED AND IF FURTHER ISSUES OCCUR NISSAN NEEDS TO COMPLY WITH FIXING IT.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TODAY. TOOK MY CAR TO BAKER NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO PUT IT ON DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. I WAS CHARGED $135. NO WORK WAS DONE SINCE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY AND EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY TOLD ME THE ENGINE WAS MISFIRING. TWO CODES APPEARED P0304 AND P0300. IN ORDER TO REPLACE 1 IGNITION COIL IT WAS $357 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. TO REPLACE ALL 4 IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS IT IS $1023.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2014 ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING ON VA 286 INTERSTATE 66 W EXIT TOWARD FRONT ROYAL FOR MERGING ONTO I-66 W VIRGINIA. LUCKILY I GOT OUT SAFELY. I SAW SMOKE COME UP FROM UNDER THE HOOD SO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE. THEN A FLAME CAME UP AND I RAN OUT OF THE CAR. WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS THE WHOLE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND IS DESTROYED 75% AND I HARDLY SAVED MY LIFE BUT LOST LAPTOP, MOBILES, BABY CAR SEAT, STROLLER AND OTHER PERSONAL STUFF. WE LOST OUR CAR WHICH COSTED US $22,000.00 EVEN ENGINE WAS UNDER 5 YEAR WARRANTY WHICH CAUSED A REASON OF FIRE BUT NISSAN IS NOT READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF ITS PRODUCT EVEN THEIR PRODUCT WILL TAKE YOUR LIFE. WE STILL OWE TO BANK FOR NISSAN ALTIMA 2014. HELP US TO COVER A TOTAL LOSS FROM NISSAN. THIS STUFF SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!! I DO NOT HAVE GAP INSURANCE EITHER. NISSAN SHOULD GIVE US NEW CAR AS A REPLACEMENT!!!!
I PURCHASED VEHICLE IN 2014 AND I HAVE HAD ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED. I'M NOT AT 71K MILES AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ABRUPT JERKING WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN HAS A RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE CVT. HOWEVER, THEY OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTIES TO FEW CUSTOMERS AND NOT ALL OF US. THIS IS AN ONGOING COMPLAINT REGARDING THE CVT AND THE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY CONSUMERS HAVE PAID...NOT TO MENTION THE INEVITABLE SAFETY RISK. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY REGARDING THE RECALL...WHICH THEY DID NOT INFORM ME ABOUT UNTIL I CALLED ABOUT MY CAR 2 DAYS AGO. NOT TO MENTION ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG, THAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT ONLINE. THEY ARE NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS AT ALL.
ENGINE SHOULD'VE SHUT OFF OR GIVE WARNING SIGN THAT OIL FROM THE OIL FILLER CAME OUT ANDSPLATTERED ALL OVER ENGINE CAUSING A ENGINE FIRE WHICH COULD'VE INJURED OR KILLED SOMEONE THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE SOMEONE MUST'VE LEFT THE OIL FILLER CAP OFF OR DIDN'T TIGHTEN CAP,ALL MECHANICS TOLD ME THE CAR SHOULD'VE SHUT OFF OR WARNING LIGHT SHOULD'VE CAME ON. ALSO THE LOCATION OF OIL FILLER IS IN A BAD SPOT IT'S ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ENGINE WITH LOTS OF PLASTIC COVERS OVER ENGINE,MOST ENGINES THE OIL FILLER IS ON SIDE OF ENGINE SO OIL DOESN'T SPILL ON TOP OF ENGINE .THE ENGINE IS A 2.5 LITER ENGINE .THE ENGINE RUNS VERY HOT AND WITH ALL THE PLASTIC PARTS AND ANY OIL SPILLING IT CAN EASILY CATCH FIRE .I THINK NISSAN SHOULD INSTALL A OIL FILLER CAP SENSOR TO AVOID POTENTIAL ENGINE FIRES.CAR IS BEING REPAIRED NOW FROM INSURANCE CLAIM BUT NISSAN REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ANY FINCANCIAL OFFER OR A REPLACEMENT CAR,SINCE I BROUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW 6 MONTHS AGO .I THINK SOMEONE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS,A SIMPLE FIX LIKE A OIL CAP SENSOR COULD PREVENT FIRES AND SAVE LIVES
MY CAR AS AT A STOP SIGN OFF A HIGHWAY. AS I TRIED TO EXCELERATE, THE CAR DIED. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I LET IT SIT FOR A SECOND, PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT MOVED LESS THAT A FOOT AND DIED. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO A SERVICE STATION WHERE THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. ONE WEEK LATER I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY TRYING TO EXCELERATE AND THE CAR DIED, MID HIGHWAY, I PULLED OVER. GOT IT STARTED AND AFTER NOT HAVING ANY RESULTS AT MY NISSAN DEALER, MADE IT TO MY HOME WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THE CAR IS A 2014 WITH 65 THOUSAND MILES AND NISSAN WILL NOT HELP
SINCE I LEASED MY CAR IN MAY2014 I FORGOT TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF 4 TIMES . TWICE IT RAN ALL NIGHT IN MY GARAGE BUT FORTUNATELY THE GAS FUMES DID NOT ENTER MY HOUSE WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. I BELIEVE ITS BECAUSE I'M NOT USE TO THE KEYLESS IGNITION SYSTEM. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I MISTAKENLY STARTED THE ENGINE WITH THE REMOTE START CAPABILITY WHILE THE KEY WAS IN MY POCKET. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE CAR DEALER AND AT MY REQUEST THEY DISENGAGED THE REMOTE START FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE, RECENTLY THE CAR WAS LEFT RUNNING ALL NIGHT FOR THE SECOND TIME SO I APPARENTLY FORGOT TO TURN IT OFF, I AM ELDERLY AND HARD OF HEARING AND CAN HARDLY HEAR THE ENGINE RUNNING, I WEAR A HEARING AID. IT RUNS VERY QUIETLY. ONCE I LOANED MY DAUGHTER THE CAR AND SHE ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM OF NOT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, I LEARN FROM INTERNET POST THAT COUNTLESS REPORTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND SEVERAL DEATHS BY CARBON MONOXIDE ENTERING HOMES HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, I UNDERSTAND THE KEYLESS IGNITION SYSTEM HAS BEEN AROUND FOR MANY YEARS AND IS INSTALLED IN MANY DIFFERENT VEHICLES, I WAS NOT AWARE OF IT UNTIL I GOT MY CAR. I FEEL A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BEFORE MORE PEOPLE GET KILLED, THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF IT WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY SINCE COUNTLESS REPORTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN MADE. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF MY REPORT. THANK YOU. *TR
PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT WITH BRAKE ON THE CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF AND JUMPED THE CURB. WHEN THE BACK TIRES BOUNCED OVER THE CURB THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING.
VEHICLE IS DRIVEN SEVERAL MILES SO THE ENGINE IS WARM. THREE TIMES THE CAR HAS STALLED WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT OR SLOWING AT AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. WHEN MOVING FROM THE WAITING POSITION THE CAR WILL STALL AND AS AN ONCOMING CAR IS COMING POSES A LEFT THREATENING SITUATION AS IT WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD IMMEDIATELY. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES AND BOTH TIMES NOTHING SHOWS ON THE COMPUTER. ALSO, THE CAR WAS DRIVEN THE LAST TIME AND THE STALL IS NOT REPLICATED. BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS NOT REPLICATED NISAAN REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR ALTHOUGH A LIFE IS IN JEOPARDY DUE TO THE DANGER OF MAKING A LEFT HAD TURN IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC WHEN THERE IS AMPLE TIME TO MAKE THE TURN. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE NATIONAL OFFICE AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING SINCE THE COMPUTER SAYS THE CAR IS NOT BROKEN. *TR
