The frame support on the right side of your vehicle that holds the transmission skid plate has rusted from the inside out, causing the skid plate and transmission to nearly fall off while driving. This rust developed in a location that's difficult to inspect until serious damage occurs. The fix will likely involve replacing the rusted frame support and possibly the skid plate.

Your Jeep's frame design allows water and dirt to enter but not drain out, causing them to get trapped inside. This trapped moisture promotes rust that forms inside the frame, potentially weakening it over time. In a crash, a weakened frame may not protect you properly. Addressing this typically involves improving frame drainage or applying rust prevention treatments to the interior.

Your Jeep's frame has developed rust, which is a structural concern. You took it to a dealer, but they didn't diagnose or repair the problem, and the manufacturer was notified. At 200,000 miles, rust in the frame can compromise the vehicle's structural integrity.

Your Jeep's frame is experiencing excessive rust and rot that appears to be caused by a design flaw from the manufacturer. This is a structural issue that could compromise the vehicle's integrity over time. The frame may need to be inspected and repaired or replaced by a professional mechanic.

During a vehicle inspection for other repairs, you discovered a structural issue with your Jeep. You contacted Chrysler and were directed to take it to a dealer for inspection. After the dealer evaluated it, Chrysler told you there's no warranty coverage available for this problem, even though you've maintained the vehicle according to their specifications and stored it indoors during winter. Fixing this structural damage will likely require welding, reinforcement, or replacement of affected frame or body panels at a dealership.

Your Jeep's rear frame has design flaws that allow water and dirt to collect inside. Because there are side holes but no drain holes at the bottom, moisture gets trapped and causes rust from the inside out, which can weaken the frame structure over time.

Suspension →3 issues
Your Jeep's frame has significant rust and corrosion damage that compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle. This makes it unsafe to drive, as the frame is essential for supporting the vehicle's weight and protecting occupants in a crash. Frame repair typically involves welding or replacement of severely corroded sections, which is a major structural repair.

Suspension,structure,unknown Or Other →2 issues
Your vehicle's frame is experiencing severe rust and deterioration. The front control arms show signs of cracking, and the transmission/skid plate has rusted through completely, causing the transfer case and transmission to separate from the frame during city driving. This structural failure creates a serious safety hazard and requires immediate professional inspection and frame/suspension repair.

Your Jeep's frame has severe rust damage that's so extensive a repair shop couldn't safely lift the vehicle to install new tires. You can push your finger through the frame in some spots, which creates a serious structural and safety concern. Even though you've maintained the vehicle normally (regular washing, no off-road use), the rust has progressed to a dangerous level. Addressing this will likely require professional frame repair or replacement, which is a major structural restoration.

Suspension,structure →1 issue
Your Jeep's frame has developed severe rust and rot, making the vehicle unsafe to drive and unsuitable for family travel. The lower and upper control arms have corroded to the point where they need to be welded back in place. This is a structural integrity issue that affects the vehicle's safety and drivability. Repair will likely require professional frame welding and replacement of corroded suspension components.

Steering,suspension,structure →1 issue
You purchased a 2002 Jeep Wrangler from a dealership, but the control arm bracket was damaged and not properly attached to the frame — a critical safety issue you weren't informed about. The bracket eventually broke away from the frame due to rust, causing the stabilizer link to break as well, making the vehicle undrivable. The dealership allegedly tried to cover up the frame damage with undercoating and has refused to return your calls about the $7,375 you spent on the vehicle and repairs.

Suspension,unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your Jeep's frame rails rusted from the inside out on both sides and the rear, but the exterior looked fine with good paint coating, making the damage invisible until it was too late. The internal rot eventually ate through the frame completely, causing the bracket that attaches the spring and axle to the frame to break off while driving, which resulted in a crash. The rust couldn't be detected during normal inspections because it was hidden inside the frame rails. Fixing this would require replacing the corroded frame rails or installing an entirely new frame.

Tires →1 issue
Your left front tire came apart completely while towing your Jeep, causing significant damage to the fender, bumper, turn signal, and wiring. The next day, your right rear tire also failed catastrophically, leaving only a thin ring of rubber on the rim. A third tire showed signs of damage as well. You've replaced all the Goodyear tires and reported the failures to both Walmart and Goodyear, but the manufacturer claims normal wear and has refused to cover the damage. The tire replacement and repairs will likely involve purchasing a complete new set of quality tires and having a mechanic inspect and repair the damaged fender, bumper, wiring, and wheel.

Structure,vehicle Speed Control →1 issue
Your Jeep Wrangler vibrates abnormally while driving at various speeds. The subframe underneath your vehicle shows severe rust from front to rear, and the leaf spring on the passenger side is fractured. Additionally, the subframe on both the driver and passenger sides has developed cracks covering about 60% of the area. Fixing this will require replacing the fractured leaf spring and having the subframe professionally repaired or replaced, along with rust treatment.

Suspension,unknown Or Other,engine →1 issue
Your Jeep's frame is rusting out, which compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle and makes it unsafe to drive. Despite the Wrangler's reputation for durability and off-road capability, the frame appears to be particularly susceptible to rust damage. Addressing frame rust typically involves inspection by a professional, cleaning affected areas, applying rust treatment, and potentially welding or replacing severely damaged sections.

Suspension,power Train →1 issue
Your Jeep's frame is rusting out, which affects both the suspension and drivetrain systems. Frame rust can weaken the structural integrity of your vehicle and compromise safety. You may notice rust spreading to suspension and drivetrain components. Addressing this will likely require rust treatment, protective coatings, or in severe cases, frame repair or replacement.

Steering,suspension,wheels →1 issue
Your Jeep experiences severe vibration and shaking in the steering wheel multiple times daily, typically triggered by hitting bumps or rough road patches at speeds around 35-40 mph. The shaking is so intense that you sometimes have to slow down to 20 mph to make it stop. Despite replacing numerous steering and suspension components including U-joints, ball joints, tie rods, the steering stabilizer, and drive shaft components, the problem persists.

Engine →1 issue
Your Jeep's valve cover gasket started leaking at around 46,000 miles. This gasket seals the top of your engine and prevents oil from escaping. You'll likely notice oil dripping under the engine or a burning oil smell when the engine is hot. The repair involves removing the valve cover and replacing the gasket with a new one.
