ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER
Accessible Technologies, Inc. (ATI) is recalling certain ProCharger Superchargers, model numbers AB037A-100, AB037A-100P, and A037A-100B, sold for installation on 2012-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and SRT vehicles. The supercharger mounting bracket may contact and damage the ABS line, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.
Fix: ATI will notify owners and will replace the supercharger brackets, free of charge. The recall began on December 12, 2017. Owners may contact ATI customer service at 1-913-338-2886.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 CHRYSLER VEHICLES, INCLUDING 200 AND TOWN AND COUNTRY MODELS, DODGE VEHICLES, INCLUDING CHARGER, DURANGO, GRAND CARAVAN AND JOURNEY MODELS AND JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 31, 2011, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 13, 2011, THAT ARE EQUIPPED WITH 3.6L ENGINES. THESE ENGINES MAY EXPERIENCE CONNECTING ROD BEARING FAILURE DUE TO DEBRIS INSIDE THE ENGINE BLOCK.
Fix: CHRYSLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE ENGINE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT NOVEMBER 18, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

Your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has stalled without warning at least four times in 2025, leaving you with no engine power and no power steering while driving. When this happens, you cannot steer the vehicle and are stuck until you restart the engine after about 30 seconds. This is particularly dangerous in traffic situations. My vehicle stalls a lot when driving. At first i thought it was an issue with the tire alignment but i was told by a mechanic that i had good alignment. My car stalls and shakes a lot while speeding up in the highway. I honestly feel unsafe at this point because its gotten worse in a short amount of time. My seatbelts are lose and useless. I love my car but i may change it for a safer option. It is definitely dangerous to go anywhere but it is my only car i have.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a turn, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
The camshaft has gone bad and unnatural wear to the lifters has caused the issue. Also, after researching the design of the engine, it is obvious that there is a design flaw. The camshaft does not receive sufficient oil in order to be lubricated due to its location in the engine. The vehicle only has 114,000 miles. It has been taken care of, and received the normal maintenance according to the owners manual. This particular version of the hemi engine has such failures well documented by multiple sources. Such an issue and malfunction attributes to premature engine failure. Such a significant engine design flaw can potentially cause injury to all occupants in the vehicle.
Oil pressure sensor code P0522. The engine oil pressure sensor fails before and after oil changes. This causes the oil temperature to sporadically increase and decrease psi drastically from 20 to 110 psi and vice versa. This has been confirmed with multiple OBD2 sensors along with the check engine light constantly on.

The contact then stated that the hood of the vehicle started to catch fire. The contact was able to navigate the vehicle off the road. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The fire department was notified, and the fire was extinguished. A fire report was filed. The contact suffered an asthma attack that required medical attention. The dealer was notified of the failure and the vehicle was towed by the dealer to a tow lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had an emissions test scheduled and failed due to the check engine warning light. The contact stated that the vehicle engine was idling roughly. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the number two cylinder had been misfiring and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic referred the contact to a dealer where she had been advised that there had been a manufacturer recall associated with the VIN, however, the recall warranty had expired. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The contact stated that they were never notified of the extended warranty for the vehicle.
I did the fuel pump relay recall and the problem that it was supposed to fix isn’t fixed.I’ll be driving along and the jeep will stall as I’m driving when turning off the highway and exit ,the power steering and power brakes cut out I pull over put the jeep in park and it starts right up.Then it’s ok for a couple of weeks and it happens again no engine light or close faults . Jeep needs to correct this problem as it is very dangerous
My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 5.7 hemi has had all recalls and the one for fuel pump relay V62/NHTSA 19V-813 completed Aug 2021. It is still shutting off while driving with no warning. This has occurred 3 times since August with the most recent being on Dec 26th 2021 in Leesburg Va. Stalls while driving causing the power steering to not function as well as the brakes. This engine power turns off randomly at around 10-15 mph (when making turns, stopping and/or decelerating) but there are no warning lights that appear on the dash. All electrical power to the car still functions and the engine stall is not noticeable until applying pressure to the brakes or trying to steer the wheels. Once i get the vehicle manually stopped and put the gear shift in Park, hit the start button, the vehicle starts up every time and will run for weeks or months before it happens again. Very dangerous. This recall needs to be reconsidered as this did not solve the issue. Matter of time before it is involved in a crash.. Taking to dealership tomorrow 27th or 28th. I went to the dealership and was informed the fuel pump relay recall is not available. My Jeep Has been misfiring, stalling, vibrating, and I am smelling gas fumes when I drive.
Purchased this vehicle used 11/13/2019 and was advised of a fuel pump relay recall (V62). It's now Sept 8th 2021 and I've still not been advised by my dealer that parts are available. They claim that they're only able to order one recall kit/week.
I purchased my vehicle Aug., 16, 2018. While driving the vehicle will shut off and loss of all power occurs. It is extremely frightening and dangerous. I know there has been a recall for this issue and when I look up my vehicle under recalls it is showing that all recalls have been taken care of. The dealership has never solved the issue I have and it continues to happen. What do I do in a situation like this? This has been going on since I purchased the vehicle several times on several different occasions. After looking up the carfax report I've realized this vehicle has had a problem with shutting off while driving since it was new.
Lifter & camshaft failed while driving on the highway The engine response failed while driving & just about caused an a car pile up on the highway, all while dumping fuel out of exhaust! The dealer knows about the the flaw with the 100,000+ with the same issue, will not fix it unless owner pays over 4K+ & will not address the extremely hazardous issue. The independent Service place says it’s a flaw from the production & that Jeep knows but won’t resolve it, unless owner pays.
RECEIVED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) P006D WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. CAUSE WAS A FAULTY OEM FILTER HOUSING W/ COOLER 636463. SAFETY RISK IS WHILE THIS ERROR WAS ACTIVATED NO OTHER ENGINE PROBLEM WOULD BE REPORTED TO THE DRIVER. REPLACEMENT COST $953.76. SERVICE STATION STATED MANY OF THESE FAILURES ARE BEING REPORTED AT THIS TIME. CURRENTLY JEEP DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THIS FAILURE.
THE V62 RECALL DID NOT WORK FOR MY JEEP. IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT 3 MOS (DIDN'T STALL WHILE DRIVING) AND THEN IT STALLED EXITING THE HIGHWAY. IN THE PAST YEAR I'VE HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED, MULTIPLE 'FIXES' FOR THIS RECALL AND IT STILL STALLS.
ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON BLINKS AND CAR STARTS TO SHAKE HAD DEALER LOOK INTO ENGINE. THEY STATED THE ENGINE BLOCK NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I OWNED THE JEEP. THE CAR CAN STALL AT ANY MINUTE AND JUST SHUTOFF. DRIVING ON CITY STREETS ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS FOR A FEW MINUTES THE GOES SOLID FOR A FEW DAYS THEN GOES OFF ONLY TO RESTART THE PROCESS CAR ALWAYS SHAKES AND MAKES NOISES.
DESPITE RECALL V62 BEING 'FIXED' BY JEEP DEALERSHIP, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE IN MOTION. OFTEN TIMES WHILE TURNING EITHER ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY. AFTER MULTIPLE STALLS I STARTED KEEPING A LOG OF WHEN AND WHERE THEY OCCUR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAS CAUSED FOR SOME SCARY SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY AND APPROACHING INTERSECTIONS. THE RECALL FUEL PUMP RELAY FIX HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
MY JEEP HAS BEEN STALLING MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN TRYING TO START IT. ONE NIGHT WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHANGED THE FUEL RELAY ON IT, HOWEVER I JUST BROUGHT IT BACK 2 DAYS AGO FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN, HOWEVER WHEN PICKING IT UP IT STALLED AGAIN.
THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED SO WE TOOK IT FOR DIAGNOSIS TO A JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DIAGNOSIS FOR MY VEHICLE IS LOW COMPRESSION IN CYLINDERS #1 AND #2 CAUSING A MISFIRE. THE CODE IS P0302. THE IRONY OF THIS DIAGNOSIS IS THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A CYLINDER HEAD EXTENSION WARRANTY FOR ONLY THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. MEANING THAT CHRYSLER WILL REPAIR THE LEFT SIDE (UNDER WARRANTY) BUT WILL NOT WARRANTY THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE THAT SUFFERS FROM THE SAME PROBLEM. CYLINDER #1 IS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES AND CYLINDER #2 WAS COVERED UNDER THE ORIGINAL POWER TRAIN 5 YEARS 100,000 MILES AND WE ARE STILL UNDER 100,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. UNUSUAL WEAR AND FAILURE IN THE UPPER CYLINDERS AND VALVES ARE PERVASIVE PROBLEMS WITH 2011-13 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WITH THIS ENGINE I WAS ADVISED BY THE TECHNICIAN AT LARRY MILLER CHRYSLER THAT LKQ AND C&K DO NOT OFFER AFTERMARKET ENGINES FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL SO THE FACTORY MOTOR SEEMS TO BE OUR ONLY HOPE. WE HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM TO CHRYSLER CORP AND AM GETTING THEIR "GENERIC AUTOMATIC EMAIL THAT STATES OUR CLAIN HAS BEEN CLOSED". ONE REPRESENTIVAE EVEN ASKED US TO SUBMIT THE STAMPED WORK ORDER AND ANY RECEIPTS, WHICH WE DID 10 DAYS AGO. TODAY WE CALLED TO ASK ABOUT OUR CLAIM AND ARE BEING TOLD IT HAS BEEN CLOSED AND THEY HAVE NOT GOVEN US ANY EXPLANATION OTHER THAN IT IS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY. HOW CAN 1 SIDE OF THE ENGINE BE COVERED BUT THE OTHER SIDE IS NOT? WE BASICALLY HAVE TO PAY FOR A WHOLE NEW ENGINE AND LABOR COSTS TO THE TUNE OF $8,000. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS AND REPAIRS AND WE ARE DEVASTATED AT THIS POINT BECAUSE THIS ENGINE ISSUE IS EMOTIONALLY AND FINANCIALLY RUINING OUR FAMILY.
MY WIFE WAS STRANDED WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED AND WILL NOT RESTART. MECHANIC MADE US AWARE HE CANNOT FIX AS THIS IS AN ISSUE UNDER AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2019. I CALLED A JEEP SERVICE CENTER WHO SAID THEY CANNOT APPLY THE RECALL WORK BECAUSE JEEP/FIAT HAVEN'T MADE THE PARTS AVAILABLE. MEANTIME WE NOW HAVE A JEEP WE STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR EVEN THOUGH IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN. THIS RECALL CAME OUT A YEAR AGO AND I AM TOLD ANOTHER YEAR COULD PASS BEFORE JEEP MAKES PARTS AVAILABLE TO SERVICE CENTERS. WHAT IN THE MEANTIME ARE IMPACTED JEEP OWNERS SUPPOSED TO DO, KEEP PAYING FOR VEHICLES THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN? TWO YEARS BEING WITHOUT A VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS WE HAD SHUT OFF THE ENGINE TO REFUEL AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART, STRANDING US. OUR MECHANIC RULED OUT BAD GAS AND INDICATED THE TIPM HAS MALFUNCTIONED. RECALL 19V-813 ADDRESSES IT (JEEP'S RECALL FOR IT IS V62) BUT APPEARS ANOTHER YEAR WILL PASS BEFORE THE RECALL CAN BE DONE. THAT'S A YEAR AFTER THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. AGAIN, UNACCEPTABLE.

JEEP SENT A RECALL NOTICE WITHOUT HAVING A SOLUTION ON HAND. IT HAS BEEN 10 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL. FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE CAN CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENTS. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SPONTANEOUSLY COME ON. I TOOK IT TO JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR A FIX AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD IN THE SUV MOST OF THE TIME AND I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CHILD. AT APPROXIMATELY 120K MILES I BEGAN TO NOTICE A SLIGHT TICK COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE MOTOR. OVER THE NEXT 5K MILES I CHANGED THE OIL SEVERAL TIMES, SWAPPED PLUGS, COIL PACKS AND INJECTORS TO RULE OUT ANY POTENTIAL ISSUES. I ALSO DID A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND GOT WORSE. THERE WAS ALSO A CONSISTENT HESITATION UNDER MEDIUM TO HEAVY THROTTLE INPUT. I'M NOW AT 126K MILES AND HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - P0303 FOR CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE. I HAVE STARTED DISASSEMBLING THE MOTOR AND NOTICED THE LIFTER HAS SEIZED AND STARTED DESTROYING THE CAMSHAFT.
VEHICLE STALLS UPON IGNITION. IT WILL SOMETIMES NOT START AGAIN FOR A MINUTE OR TWO. THE START PROBLEMS ARE WORSENING AS TIME PASSES. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS.
VEHICLE HAS NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES SHOWING UP BUT HAS STALLED ON US SEVERAL TIMES ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT TWICE NOW. ALSO PULSATES AT SPEEDS AROUND 45 AND AGAIN AT 60MPH. SINCE THE LAST STALL IT NOW HAS A VERY ROUGH IDLE. WE HAVE CALLED DEALERSHIP ABOUT RECALL AND THEY STATE YES THERE IS ONE BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE TAKEN APART FOR FURTHER EVALUATION TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I GO GET GAS TO FILL MY CAR UP AND WHEN I'M DONE I GO TO START THE THE JEEP UP IT STARTS UP THEN CUTS BACK OFF LIKE 2-3 TIMES!
ENGINE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON US HIGHWAY 101 ON 11/7/19; FORTUNATELY NO CRASH OCCURRED. WE TOOK INTO MECHANIC AT JEEP SANTA MARIA; THEY HAD IT ALL WEEK FROM 11/8/19 TO 11/15/19 AND SAID IT WAS FINE. IT APPEARS THIS WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY PART THAT WAS INSTALLED PURSUANT TO A PREVIOUS RECALL THAT FCA HAS BEEN INVESTIGATING SINCE 2018. WE ARE ANXIOUS TO HAVE THIS OPEN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:19V813000 RESOLVED ASAP.
THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STOPS RUNNING WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT NOW IS HAPPENING ALMOST DAILY. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AT THIS POINT AS THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW CLOSE CALLS IN TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE DEALER SAYS JEEP IS WORKING ON IT BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION. IT'S BEEN MONTHS WITH "NO SOLUTION". THIS IS DANGEROUS! THERE'S GOING TO BE AN ACCIDENT. SURELY JEEP CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING TO RESOLVE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

CHRYSLER MADE A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ON NOV 14, 2019. ON NOV 18, 2019 MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND DID SO NUMEROUS TIME DURING THE WEEK. LUCKILY, I WAS NEVER ON THE HIGHWAY WENT IT HAPPENED. I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS ONE OF THE VEHICLES IN THE RECALL, HOWEVER THEY DID NOT HAVE A SOLUTION AT THE MOMENT AND I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL JAN 2020. HOWEVER, WHEN I DID SUBMIT THE PROOF THEY DECLINED IT STATING CHRYSLER HAD NOT UPDATED THE RECALL AND THERE WERE NO PARTS. I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED FOR THE RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON 7/21/19 AND MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S ENGINE SEIZED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED AND NOW JEEP HAS A 2 MONTH WAITING LIST FOR THE HEMI MOTOR (WHICH APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR - THAT IS WHY THE WAITING LIST IS SO LONG). IT WILL BE OVER $8000 TO FIX AND I STILL OWE ON THE LOAN FOR THE CAR THAT I HAVE HAD LESS THAN 3 YEARS. IF HEMI MOTORS ARE A PROBLEM, JEEP SHOULD MAKE THEM WITH V6 NOT THE HEMI V8 MOTORS. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS AS OF NOW. I AM STUCK WITHOUT A VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND A LARGE LOAN FOR A USELESS JEEP THAT I CAN'T DRIVE. IT HAS 90,000 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,705. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

COAST TO TO A STOP AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, FIGHTING THE HEAVY STEERING TO AVOID CARS IN THE ON COMING LANE, PLACE IN PARK PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AND HIT START BUTTON, AND THE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. DRIVE TO DEALERSHIP (PRIME JEEP IN SACO, MAINE). STEERING MODULE CLOCK SPRING WAS REPLACED LAST YEAR (AUGUST 2018) AS THE SUPPOSED CAUSE FOR THIS EXACT STALLING PROBLEM THAT WAS HAPPENING LAST YEAR.

THERE WAS A RECALL BACK IN 2015 #15V-115 TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH COULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN. SERVICE WAS DONE PER THE RECALL. HAVE AN ACTIVE CASE WITH JEEP (FIAT) BUT THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP AND KEEP SENDING US THE JEEP DEALER. DIAGNOSTICS HAVE BEEN DONE 3 TIMES TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE DIES WHILE DRIVING AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP AS WELL AS THE BRAKES. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 40MPH. HAS HAPPENED WHILE GOING STRAIGHT AND WHILE TURNING. THE RADIO STAYS ON AND NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD.

CONINCIDENTSLLY BOTH INSTANCES HAPPENED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT. I DID NOT HEAR THE ENGINE TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING, BUT NOTICED BECAUSE AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. THE RADIO, DASH AND INTERIOR LIGHTS NEVER FLICKERED OR TURNED OFF WHEN THE INGINE STALLED. AGAIN, LUCKILY I WAS NOT AT A HIGH SPEED WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY COME TO A STOP WITH THE BRAKES BUT THEY WERE VERY SLOW TO REACT. I PUT THE CAR BACK IN PARK AND STARTED IT RIGHT UP BOTH TIMES. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE TO HAVE THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND PANIC TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT FROM OCCURRING.

THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE OPERATING AND DOES NOT TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO RESTART. THIS PREVENTS A QUICK REACTION TO BEING STALLED WHEN SLOWING TO ENTER OR EXIT AT AN INTERSECTION. ON MOST OCCASIONS, THE CAR WILL NOT START AND CONTINUES TO CRANK WHEN EITHER USING THE PUSH START, MANUAL KEY FOB, OR AUTO START. IT CANNOT BE MOVED ONCE STALLED. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO RESTART TOO QUICKLY OR AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, IT WILL FLOOD. THIS SAME ISSUE WAS INCLUDED IN A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE SAME BEHAVIOR IS EXPERIENCED AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. TO PROVIDE HISTORY OF FAILED RECALLS, THE BRAKE SHIELD RECALL WAS CORRECTED BY TWO SEPERATE RECALLS AND WAS ALSO A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT PREVENTS DRIVER CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE WHEN STOPPING. THE STALLING OCCURS WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR STOPPING, AND WHEN PERFORMING STRONG TURNS. THESE TYPES OF TURNS ARE DONE FREQUENTLY AT INTERSECTIONS WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE ABILITY TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO ESCAPE THE DANGER.

8 TIMES SINCE NEW AND 3 TIMES SINCE ITS LAST TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP, OUR JEEPS ENGINE WILL CUT OUT, 6 TIMES WERE WHEN LIFTING OFF THE THROTTLE WHEN EXITING THE INTERSTATE AND TWICE WHERE IN TRAFFIC. WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU LOSE POWER STEERING AND IT BECOMES VERY HARD TO CONTROL. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH, AND NO CODES STORED IN THE COMPUTER. SINCE THIS IS COMPLETELY RANDOM THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, CRANKSHAFT SENSOR, CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR, ALL WITH NO HELP. WE JUST DROPPED IT OFF AGAIN AND TOLD THEM WE DO NOT WANT IT BACK UNLESS IT IS FIXED.

I GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE TO IDLE IT FORWARD A COUPLE FEET TO ALLOW CLEARANCE FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE TRAILER HITCH FROM THE RECEIVER. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE. IMMEDIATELY UPON BEING PUT IN DRIVE THE ENGINE ACCELERATED TO OVER 5,000 RPMS AND THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD. I TRIED TO SHIFT BACK INTO PARK BUT HIT REVERSE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH BACKWARDS. I CONTINUED TO PUSH THE TRANSMISSION FORWARD INTO PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. ALL THIS OCCURRED WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE. THE INCIDENT LASTED ABOUT THREE OR FOUR SECONDS. THE REAR TIRES SPUN IN THE GRAVEL CREATING 3 INCH DEEP DIVOTS. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A 5.7L ENGINE. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THAT THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO EXPLODE. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A CAUSE.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE 241 TOLL ROAD UP A STEEP HILL GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THE ENGINE DOWN SHIFTED INTO A LOWER GEAR, THE ENGINE BEGAN REVVING HIGH, THE RPM WENT HIGH, AND I LOST SPEED. THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON 1/28/2015. THE CODES THAT WERE SET SAID THE ENGINE HAD A MISFIRE AND THE LEFT HEAD WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED ON THE ENGINE. I LOOKED THIS UP ON THE INTERNET AND THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 3.6 LITER V-6 PENTASTAR ENGINES. IT APPEARS THAT CHRYSLER SAID THIS PROBLEM ONLY EXISTED IN HALF OF 1% OF THIS TYPE OF ENGINE. THE FIRE INSPECTOR INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. BACKING OUR BOAT INTO DRIVEWAY, CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND ENGINE UNDER HOOD STARTED SMOKING, FLUID THEN DRIPPED TO DRIVEWAY AND CAUGHT FIRE, EXTENDED INTO FULL ENGINE COMPARTMENT ENGINE ENTIRELY DESTROYED. *TT ...UPDATED 07/19/12 *BF CHRYSLER AGREED TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. TURNED ONTO STATE HIGHWAY WHEN ENGINE BEGAN TO MAKE SEIZURE NOISE AND TEMPERATURE MOVED TOWARD H WITH SHAKING AND LOST POWER FROM ENGINE. I PUT ON EMERGENCY BLINKERS, REMOVED FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR, TAPPED BRAKES, WITH NOISE CONTINUING, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN WITH NO POWER OCCURRING. I DRIFTED SLOWING DOWN THE HIGHWAY A FEW HUNDRED FEET, TURNED ONTO A SIDE ROAD, WITH VIOLENT ENGINE SEIZURE NOISE CONTINUING AND TURNED OFF VEHICLE. VEHICLE RESTARTED WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I GOT VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER TO BE CHECKED SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ONLY TWO WEEKS PRIOR. I HIGHLY SUSPECT ENGINE DEBRIS CAUSED THIS VERY DANGEROUS INCIDENT. I THOUGHT AN EXPLOSION OF THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCUR AND A CRASH FROM APPROACHING VEHICLES. I WILL NOT TAKE DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE IN INCIDENT AND REQUESTED OUT OF CONTRACT. *TR
WE PURCHASED A NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 5 MILES ON IT. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING A STRANGE NOISE. WE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE MECHANIC TOLD US TO LEAVE THE CAR. IT'S 5 DAYS LATER AND ALL WE KNOW SO FAR IS THAT THEY HAVE REMOVED THE FRONT END OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT. WE DON'T HAVE THE CAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS NOT FLUSH WITH THE BODY OF THE CAR. WE ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT THE DOOR TO SEE IF IT WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. THEY OFFERED TO HAVE THE BODY SHOP BEND THE DOOR. *TR
I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 20-25 APPROACHING A SIGNAL LIGHT. I LET OFF THE GAS AND APPLIED THE BRAKE AS THE LIGHT WAS RED. AS I LET OFF THE GAS, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV HIGHER AND AS I APPLIED THE BRAKE I HAD TO APPLY IT HARDER AND HARDER AS THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV EVEN HIGHER. I BEGAN TO SMELL THE BRAKES BURNING AS THEY TRIED TO HOLD THE CAR BACK. FORTUNATELY I HAD THE FORESIGHT TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. IT CONTINUED TO REV FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THEN WENT DOWN TO NORMAL. IT HAS HAPPENED ONCE. NO WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY CONTACTED THE DETROIT TECHNICAL BUREAU AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT MAYBE IT WAS THE FLOOR MAT, OR MY FOOT, ETC, ETC BUT CLAIMED THEY HAD NO OTHER REPORTS OF THIS OCCURRING. I DON'T HAVE CARPETS AS I OPTED FOR THE RUBBER MATS AND THEY SIT TIGHT TO THE FLOOR. AND MY FOOT WAS NOT STUCK ON THE GAS. I WAS CONSCIOUS OF THE FACT THAT MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND NOT THE GAS AS I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON. THEY SAID THEY DROVE IT AND DID COMPUTER CHECKS AND HAD NO EXPLANATION. THE SERVICE REP SAID THE RESPONSE FROM THE TECHNICAL BUREAU WOULD BE "INSULTING TO ME". THE DEALER WAS BRADSHAW JEEP IN WATERTOWN, CT AND THE SERVICE REP WAS VICTOR. I WROTE THIS OUT ON THE SERVICE ORDER AND KEPT A COPY. *TR
