Your car's interior door handles are broken and won't open the doors from inside — you have to open them from outside. The handles are made of cheap plastic that fails easily. This is a serious safety concern because if you're trapped in an emergency (like a fire or flooding), you won't be able to get out quickly, especially if you have children in the car. Fixing this likely involves replacing the interior door handle assemblies with new ones.

I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES NOW, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING SHOWING BUT AN EMISSIONS CODE. I'M TOLD IT IS THE GAS CAP TO REPLACE IT. MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2007 LAREDO ABOUT 149,000 MILES ON IT. NORMALLY, IT RUNS LIKE A CHAMP. I GET OIL CHANGES LIKE CLOCKWORK, AND EVERY TIME IT'S SUGGESTED TO FIX SOMETHING, I DO IT. IT STALLS VERY FREQUENTLY AT STOP SIGNS / STOP LIGHTS, AND I NEED TO LEAVE LOTS OF ROOM BETWEEN ME AND OTHER CARS SO I CAN STEADILY INCH FORWARD WHILE WAITING AT THE RED LIGHT, OTHERWISE IT WILL DIE. IT STARTS UP FINE, BUT STOPPING AGAIN AND IT WILL DIE AGAIN. IT'S TO THE POINT NOW THAT I'M SCARED TO DRIVE MY OWN VEHICLE. STALLS / DIES, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE A/C IS ON MECHANIC SAYS THEY'VE RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON THE CAR AND THE ONLY THING IT SHOWS IS THE EMISSIONS CODE. I'M TOLD YET AGAIN TO REPLACE THE GAS CAP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. IT IDLES ROUGH AND HAS DONE ALL OF THIS SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN DECEMBER OF 2016.

IT WAS TAKEN TO JEEP (2016) BUT MY IGNITION SWITCH IS STILL THE ISSUE. I HAD A MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK AND MY IGNITION SWITCH IS STILL THE PROBLEM. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN WHAT IF I WAS INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS?

THE ISSUE IS WITH THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE).DURING THE FIRST INSTANCE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN IN A PARKING LOT THE CAR SUDDENLY BECAME COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND LOCKED UP WHILE IN MOTION. IT WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND EVENTUALLY IT WAS DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A BAD PCM AND THE TIPM. AFTER WAITING A MONTH FOR THE TIPM TO COME IN, THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. PICKED UP THE CAR ON A FRIDAY AND AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON SATURDAY MORNING THE CAR LOCKED UP AND BECAME COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. THIS TIME I WAS GETTING ONTO THE FREEWAY. THANKFULLY MY CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE CAR ON EITHER ONE OF THESE OCCASIONS. AFTER RESEARCHING I FOUND THAT JEEP TIPM'S WERE RECALLED FROM 2011 TO 2015. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT TIPM'S FROM 2007 LEADING UP TO 2011 WERE ALSO HAVING A LOT OF ISSUES AND A RECALL WAS IN ORDER THEN, BUT NEVER OFFICIALLY CAME TO BE. THIS PART HAS A LONG AND DOCUMENTED HISTORY AS HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS AND I WANT TO OFFICIALLY REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THESE PARTS HAVE ARE BEING PUT INTO CARS IN THIS CONDITION. THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THIS PARTS FAILURE ARE HUGE. TO HAVE A CAR THAT IS IN MOTION LOCK UP AND BECOME TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE PRESENTS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN TO THE DRIVER, THEIR PASSENGERS AND THE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD AROUND THEM. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE NOT TREATING THIS ISSUE WITH THE SEVERITY IT DESERVES. THEY SIMPLY WANT ME TO JUST PAY FOR FAULTY PARTS AND HAVE ME GO AWAY. THIS IS NOT HOW AN AUTOMAKER SHOULD BE HANDLING A SAFETY ISSUE OF THIS MAGNITUDE.

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE (PARKED) CAR, WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED EVERYTHING TURNS ON (RADIO, DASHBOARD LIGHTS, SEATS ECT) LIKE IT NORMALLY WOULD START BUT THE ENGINE DOESN'T TURN OVER OR CRANK AT ALL... WHEN ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS GO OFF THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT REMAIN ON. NO CLICKING SOUND WHATSOEVER, BUT I BELIEVE YOU CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP KICK IN. WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION AFTER IT WON'T START, THE ACCESSORIES WILL OCCASIONALLY STAY ON (SUCH AS THE THE SEAT WHEN IT HAS THE EASY ENTRY OPTION SELECTED WILL STAY IN THE DRIVING POSITION). NOTHING SEEMS TO MAKE IT START. JUMPING THE BATTERY DOES NOTHING. PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL TO START DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. IT'S USUALLY JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT DECIDES TO START AGAIN... SOMETIMES HOURS, SOMETIMES DAYS. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAN NEVER DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. FOR WHATEVER REASON, POSSIBLY JUST A COINCIDENCE, REPLACING THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB SEEMS TO DELAY THE ISSUE FROM HAPPENING AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS. ALTHOUGH THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A STRAIGHT FORWARD SAFETY ISSUE, THE PROBLEM HAS LEFT ME STRANDED AT A GAS STATION IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER WHILE BEING 8-1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT AND MOST RECENTLY LEFT ME STRANDED WITH MY 8 MONTH OLD BABY. I SHOULD ALSO NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM NEVER OCCURRED UNTIL SOME TIME AFTER THE LAST RECALL WAS RESOLVED.

REAR LIFT GATE CYLINDERS FOR THE BACK DOOR DO NOT WORK IN COLD - 50 DEGREES OR COOLER WEATHER. THEY DO NOT KEEP THE DOOR UP AND MANY TIMES THE BACK DOOR ALMOST OR DID COME CRASHING DOWN ON MY HEAD. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME INCIDENT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHICH COULD RESULT IN A POSSIBLE CONCUSSION, FRACTURED SKULL OR BROKEN NECK. LUCKILY THE LAST TIME SOMEONE SAW IT ALMOST CRASH ON MY HEAD WHILE UNLOADING GROCERIES THEY PICKED UP THE GATE BEFORE IT HIT MY HEAD. PRIOR INCIDENTS RESULTS IN THE DOOR HITTING MY HEAD.

MY JEEP HAD BEEN FUNCTIONING FINE UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN I WENT TO START IT THE LIGHTS WOULD GO ON BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT CATCH. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT I NEED A NEW IGNITION SWITCH WHICH IS ON RECALL. IT HAS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND THERE IS NO PART AVAILABLE. MY 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IS NOW UNRELIABLE AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT MAY OR MAY NOT START. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I SHOULD RECEIVE COMPENSATION FOR THE LOSS OF A VEHICLE AND WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO TRADE IT IN. I'M WONDERING IF IT EVEN HAS ANY VALUE?

MY INTIAL ISSUE WITH MY 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER WHEN SHIFTING INTO THE NEXT GEAR EITHER WHEN GOING UP A GEAR OR WHEN YOU WERE SLOWING DOWN. IT WOULD MAKE A LOUD CRACKING SOUND WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I ALREADY HAD A SENSOR REPLACED TO TRY AND CORRECT THAT ISSUE BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. THEN IN ADDITION, TO THAT THE JEEP STARTED STALLING OUT ON ME. I PERIODICALLY HAVE THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, ESP BAS LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT MY CONCERNS WITH HAVING TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WHICH I BELIEVE IS RELATED TO THEIR P41 RECALL WITH NO SATISFICATION. I HAVE CODES B2185 AND U0401 IN THE COMPUTER OF MY JEEP WHICH CAME FROM MY LOCAL MECHANIC. CHRYSLER IS NO HELP. THE IRONIC THING IS I HAVE 2 - 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES. THE SECOND ONE ISN'T MUCH BETTER. THAT ONE PERIODICALLY HAS ISSUES ALSO WITH LOSING POWER. WHEN IS CHRYSLER GOING TO BE FORCED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR THIS RECALL? THEY ARE FORCING PEOPLE TO DRIVE UNSAFE VEHICLES AND PUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES LIVES AT RISK.

DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, MOST OFTEN APPROACHING A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF LEAVING NO POWER SYSTEMS. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHER SPEEDS AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IN ONE CASE. VEHICLE STARTS UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER OCCURRENCE. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO IS AWARE OF THIS OCCURRING WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR BUT STATES IT PROBABLY WILL BE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT TOWED FROM POINT OF OCCURRENCE. DEALER STATED THEY COULD TRY TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BY DRIVING IT AROUND??? I TOLD HIM YOU MIGHT BE DRIVING FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I DON'T WANT MY WIFE OPERATE THE CAR. AS A RETIRED STATE TROOPER I AM EXPERIENCED IN OPERATING VEHICLES UNDER HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS BUT DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL AND ISSUE OCCURS. I OWN A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO, 6 CYL 4X4. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN LOSING POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON AN ALMOST DAILY BASIS, USUALLY WHILE NEGOTIATING LEFT HAND CURVES. WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TURNS ON AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATES RAPIDLY. DURING THE POWER LOSS, I CAN PUT THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN SEVERAL REAR END CRASHES DUE TO THIS ISSUE, AS IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR RELATED ISSUES. ON 03/18/08 THE ABS WIRING HARNESS WAS RE-ROUTED BECAUSE IT WAS RUBBING ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. THE SHIFTER MODULE HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED TWICE, HOWEVER, THE AFOREMENTIONED PROBLEM IS ONGOING. THE LAST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS 09/25/09 AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO COMPUTER CODE FOR THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIX OR DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT RECREATE IT. I AM AFRAID THAT IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IT IS INEVITABLE THAT I WILL BE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AS A RESULT OF THIS MECHANICAL FAILURE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN USELESS IN FIXING THE PROBLEM. I AM AT MY WITS END AND I AM GETTING NOWHERE WITH PAPA'S DODGE. *TR

ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. NO PRIOR PROBLEMS - DRIVING TO A VACATION DESTINATION ON US 95, HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR @ 3 HOURS - TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL AND ENGINE SHUT OFF, LEAVING ME WITHOUT ANY CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE- LUCKILY, WAS ABLE TO STEER TO SHOULDER - WAS ABLE TO RESTART CAR WITHIN 5 MINUTES, HOWEVER THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN TWICE MORE DURING THIS TRIP UNDER THE SAME SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES-JUST TAKING MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR; AGAIN LEFT WITHOUT ABILITY TO CONTROL AUTO. REACHED MY DESTINATION POINT AND BROUGHT CAR TO NEAREST DEALER - RECEIVED A CALL THE FOLLOWING DAY THAT THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND THAT THE INTEGRATED AUTO COMPUTER PROGRAM FAILED AND THE COMPUTER PROGRAM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND RE-INSTALLED. DEALER NOTED THAT HE HAD RECEIVED NOTICE OF THIS ISSUE OCCURRING TO OTHER '07 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES, BUT CHRYSLER WAS NOT ISSUING A RECALL. IT WAS MERE LUCK THAT I AVOIDED ANY ACCIDENTS. *TR
