NHTSA Campaign: 24V900000
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Passport and 2023-2025 Pilot vehicles. The fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe may separate, allowing fuel to leak.
Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and repair the fuel filler neck tube and pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 7, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OKM.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V031000
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S, 2023-2025 Honda Pilot, and 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type-S vehicles. A software error in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) may cause an engine stall or a loss of power.
Risk: An engine stall or loss of power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Fix: Dealers will reprogram the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are EL1 and AL0.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V056000
Component: SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2025 Honda Pilot vehicles. The third-row passenger seat belt assembly may not function, due to incorrect routing that traps the seat belt behind the passenger side panel. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Risk: A non-functioning seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and repair the seat belt routing as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 24, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is ZL4.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V391000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Acura TLX, 2023-2025 Acura MDX, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot vehicles. The brake pedal pivot pin was not secured properly, which can cause the pedal to shift out of position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk: A brake pedal that shifts out of position can prevent the driver from applying the brakes as intended, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake pedal assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 29, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are FLX and XLY.
Owner-Reported Issues (20 of 123)
Engine →2 issues
Your engine stopped running while you were driving. Honda has determined the engine needs to be replaced due to a known defect. You're concerned about this happening during a longer trip, especially given the cold temperatures where you live. The repair will involve Honda replacing the entire engine under warranty.

Your engine suddenly lost power while driving normally, forcing you to pull over safely. The check engine light displayed an emission control warning, and the dealer determined the engine had seized and needs to be replaced. This happened at just 7 days old with only 160 miles on the odometer. The fix will involve a complete engine replacement under warranty.

Vehicle Speed Control, forward Collision Avoidance →2 issues
Your 2025 Pilot's adaptive cruise control and forward collision avoidance system randomly disable while driving on the highway, causing the car to brake hard and drop from 70 mph to 35 mph without warning. All safety features shut down during these events, leaving you with only manual gas and brake control, and it can take 15-45 minutes for the system to restart on its own. This happens repeatedly in clear weather with no obstructions, and the dealership says it cannot be fixed. The fix would likely require Honda to reprogram or replace the adaptive cruise control and radar-based safety system components.

Your Honda Pilot's adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance system are intermittently disabling themselves with a "Clean Area" message, even when there's no rain, snow, or dirt visible. The system stops working nearly every day while you're using adaptive cruise, then mysteriously starts working again the next day without any action on your part. This suggests a sensor or camera calibration issue that may require professional diagnosis and recalibration of the forward-facing camera or sensors.

Visibility →2 issues
While driving at 65 mph, your sunroof suddenly made a loud popping sound and the glass shattered, with pieces falling into the cabin. Fortunately, you weren't injured by the glass. The dealer repaired the sunroof but couldn't tell you why it broke. The repair will likely involve replacing the sunroof glass and frame assembly.

Your windshield cracked from a rock or stone impact and was replaced at an auto glass center. Shortly after the replacement, a new crack appeared at the base of the windshield and grew rapidly from 1 inch to 3 inches. The auto glass center said the windshield needed to be replaced again, but your Honda dealer refused to cover it under warranty, citing a related recall and directing you to your insurance company instead. The windshield replacement may involve removing the old glass, cleaning the frame, applying new sealant, and installing a new windshield.

Power Train,engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your engine experienced severe bucking and hesitation during acceleration, then lost all power and stalled on a highway on-ramp. The engine wouldn't restart despite multiple attempts, and you had to be towed by State Police due to the unsafe location. When the dealership inspected it an hour later, the engine started normally with no error codes, but this symptom matches a known Honda recall (25V-031) involving fuel injection software that can cause stalling during sudden throttle changes. The repair will likely involve a software update to the fuel injection control unit to correct the torque control programming.

Steering,electrical System →1 issue
Your power steering suddenly failed twice on the same day while parking at low speeds, forcing you to manually steer the vehicle with significant difficulty. You received an 'Electric Steering Assist Failure' warning message both times. The dealer confirmed it's an electrical issue but couldn't reproduce the problem during testing, and suggested it may be related to moisture from snow; they recommend bringing the vehicle back if it happens again.

Steering,electrical System,forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your 2025 Pilot has experienced repeated electrical system failures starting at 15,000 miles, causing you to lose critical functions like all-wheel drive, steering control, and the driver panel while driving—most dangerously during a mountain snowstorm. The vehicle has required multiple shop visits and two tows, but dealers have been unable to consistently identify or fix the problem, with some suggesting you drove it too hard or simply resetting error codes. Most recently, the alternator failed past 36,000 miles and the dealership refused to cover the repair, leaving you with a vehicle that has compromised safety and control. Resolving this will likely require Honda's engineering team to diagnose the root electrical fault affecting the charging system and vehicle control modules.

Vehicle Speed Control, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car unexpectedly accelerated on its own while you were parking in a hospital garage, crashing into a wall multiple times before stopping. You applied the brakes several times before the car finally stopped, and you suffered significant bruising to your neck, chest, legs, and internal injuries from the repeated impacts. The sudden unintended acceleration with no warning created a serious safety risk, and the vehicle has been inspected but findings are pending.

Vehicle Speed Control, forward Collision Avoidance, lane Departure →1 issue
Your adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane departure warning systems are turning off on their own without explanation, showing a dashboard warning message to contact your dealer. At the same time, your collision mitigation braking system shows an error with a brake warning light, and the dashboard tells you to clean the Honda emblem on the front grille—but cleaning it doesn't fix the problem. The issue has resolved itself without any action taken, and occurred during clear, warm weather. The fix likely involves having your dealer diagnose and clear any sensor or software faults in these safety systems.

Forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
While driving at 60 mph, your car's forward collision warning system flashed a BRAKE warning on the dashboard and suddenly locked up the brakes, as if it detected you were too close to another vehicle. The brakes immediately returned to normal operation. This appears to be a false activation of the collision avoidance system. A Honda technician should diagnose the forward collision sensors and brake system to determine why the system engaged unexpectedly.

Steering →1 issue
Your steering wheel is making loud clicking or popping noises whenever you turn it, whether the car is parked, reversing, or driving forward—especially once the engine warms up. Your dealership replaced the clock spring (the component that allows your steering wheel to rotate), but the noise persists, indicating the problem lies elsewhere in your steering system. This issue should be diagnosed further to rule out other steering components and ensure safe operation.

Electrical System,fuel/propulsion System,lane Departure →1 issue
While driving, multiple warning lights appeared on your dashboard indicating problems with all driver assistance systems. Your vehicle became unable to accelerate and you had to pull over, turn the car off, and restart it to clear the warnings. The dealership was unable to reproduce the issue or find any problems, suggesting this may be an intermittent electrical glitch affecting your fuel system and driver assistance features.

Seat Belts,air Bags →1 issue
Your second row passenger seatbelt keeps triggering an alarm even when it's properly buckled and secured. After the dealer replaced the seatbelt, you're now getting dashboard warnings about supplemental seatbelt problems. The issue likely involves either a faulty seatbelt sensor or wiring that's not properly detecting when the belt is engaged.

Steering,wheels →1 issue
While turning left onto Front Street, you heard a snapping sound and your steering pulled sharply to the right, causing rim and tire damage. You discovered online that other 2023-2025 Honda Pilot owners have reported the same sudden steering pull issue, raising concerns about a potential steering component failure. The dealership initially dismissed your report without investigating. This could potentially involve inspection and replacement of steering components like tie rods or suspension parts that may be failing.

Power Train →1 issue
Your 2025 Pilot's rear differential service light came on at 5,000 miles, even though Honda typically doesn't recommend this service until 10,000–15,000 miles. You contacted Honda to confirm there's no premature wear issue and ask them to cover the early service, but customer service couldn't provide technical information and only repeated that this can happen. The fix would likely involve having the dealership inspect and service your rear differential.

Wheels →1 issue
Your Pilot's rims have bent twice in less than a year and 19,000 miles, requiring $1,000 in repairs. You haven't experienced this problem with other vehicles you've owned. The wheels may need replacement or repair due to impacts with road hazards like potholes or curbs, or the rims may have a manufacturing defect.

Exterior Lighting →1 issue
Your puddle lamp bulbs keep failing and need replacement multiple times within the first year of ownership. Water is getting into the light fixtures because of how they're designed, and your dealer won't cover the replacements under warranty. The fix would likely involve replacing the puddle lamp bulbs and potentially sealing or replacing the light fixtures to prevent water intrusion.
