2019 Honda Pilot Electrical Problems

While driving, multiple safety systems suddenly failed at the same time including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, and Auto High Beam. All warning lights appeared simultaneously. The vehicle became unsafe to drive relying only on manual control.

The Auto Idle Stop feature on my 2019 Honda Pilot is a critical safety defect. The engine repeatedly fails to restart automatically after the Idle Stop engages at a complete stop, resulting in the vehicle stalling in traffic. This is a major crash risk, not a minor inconvenience.

My 2019 Honda pilot randomly started showing all these errors at once: LKAS, Collision Mitigation Problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto highbeam problem, adaptive cruise control problem. After speaking with the Honda dealership, they said this is a chronic problem with 2018 to new Honda vehicles. He stated he's unsure why there is not a recall for this yet.

Consistent electrical issues manifested with infotainment system losing connectivity including FM radio, Bluetooth, etc during hot days only. Thia implies increase risk of fire due ti electrical system overheat. It appears many complaints have been made related to the electrical system on Honda pilot year 2019.

My 2019 Honda Pilot backup camera is not functioning properly. It has a green and sometimes purple screen and I cannot see objects when backing up. This creates a very dangerous situation.

I have had multiple situations where the auto idle has engaged and the vehicle has died. Most of the time the car restarts by holding down the ignition button, but twice it's required a jump. I have taken this into honda multiple times and they've told me they can't recreate the problem, but it consistently happens to me.

Backup camera is distorted and has purple and green colors throughout the screen. Also the information screen routinely indicates a Tuner failure, followed by popping sounds from the radio. Took vehicle to Honda dealer who advised that many 2019 Honda Pilots are coming in with same issue.

2019 honda pilot exL all of sudden multipurpose camera doesn't work. As a result of the camera issue break system sign came on and all safety feature turn off. I didn't have any accident prior to the sign came on.

Backup camera shows distorted colors and no longer usable to identify objects in the rear of the vehicle. Additionally all backup sensors no longer activated when objects are behind the vehicle. Since there are massive blind spots behind the vehicle this is an accident waiting to happen.

I got in my vehicle about a month ago to a lot of blinking lights. I immediately took my vehicle to Davenport Honda in Rocky Mount, NC, who stated I had a misfire and it would be over $1000 to fix the problem. Approximately a month later, a few more blinking lights came on.

My 2019 Honda Pilot Touring was included in the Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2018-2023 Multi-Model MOST Communication Error. In May 2024, Schomp Honda dealership attempted to fix the recall. In September 2024 my Honda Pilot began experiencing audio and display issues.

Operating vehicle on Interstate. After pulling onto off ramp engine shut off completely during application of brakes. This has happened twice in hot (above 90 degrees) conditions.

Dealer diagnostic performed and found that the multipurpose camera internal electronic failure has occurred (report attached). This camera controls the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), automatic headlights and high beams, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Collision Mitigation System, Road Departure Mitigation System. This issue first began in March 2023 and occurs all of the time.

The idle stop cuts the engine when stopped at lights or stop signs or traffic slow downs but does not always start back up. Twice this month I have had to open the door and then press the ignition multiple times to get the car to start again. When this happens we also get an alert that there are other features being disabled.

1ST OCCURENCE: 45000 miles on vehicle. I was exiting a busy ramp from [XXX] to Fort Oglethorpe, Ga and the Idle stop caused the engine to stall and not re-engage upon lifting the break. I was almost hit from the rear.

Started vehicle and proceeded to drive forward in my driveway when smoke started coming in the vehicle. Noticed after driving that the smoke was coming in the vehicle from under the glove box on the passenger side by the floor mat. Within approximately two minutes a flame ignited in which the dashboard caught on re.

Switch assy don't work don't turn on the switch flash on and off I AM scary that I can get in a accident if the car turn off that other problem that I got is the paint is coming out that is not the original paint it be a recall for pilot for the switch I think the years is 2016-2017

When my car is at a stop, the engine idles and will not restart. Sometimes, charging the battery will upstart the engine, while sometimes it will not start at all. We've had the battery checked several times, and the battery checks out fine.

To address the General Guidelines questions, the responses are identified below: 1. Charging System problem appeared on dashboard. Took the vehicle for inspection 9/18/23.

Auto start-stop failure. After the auto start-stop engages (turns off engine at intersection), sometimes the vehicle does not restart. I have to press the starter on the dashboard to restart and put the transmission back in gear.

When stopped at a light, the auto engine idle stop/start did not re-engage after taking my foot off the brake. It took the car a few seconds to turn back on and be able to accelerate. This could happen in the middle of an intersection and cause accidents.

Our 2019 Honda Pilot will flash the brake for the front collision warning system when there is no oncoming traffic or even when the oncoming traffic is in its lane. It does not always happen, but enough to be an annoyance. It also tends, when stopped at a light, and the auto stop engages not to restart.

The car is equipped with a stop-start system that is supposed to shut off the engine when you stop (eg at a red light) and restart almost instantly when you lift the foot off the brake. The restart feature fails somewhat regularly, maybe about 5% of the time. It has happened for many years, and with increasing frequency as the car is getting older.

The problem, I believe, it with the auto start/stop feature of the car. At least 10 times (starting in mid 2021), while stopped at a traffic stop, the auto stop feature enables causing the engine to stop when the brake pedal is pressed down. Upon taking my foot off the brake pedal, the car stalls and does not start up right away.

On my drive home this afternoon the auto idle stop feature on my 2019 Pilot touring began to hesitate to restart after releasing my foot from the brake. The result was an orange warning light telling me that there is a problem with the collision mitigation system and a shudder before the engine would resume running. I had to turn off the auto-start feature to avoid stalling in rush hour traffic.

Auto engine shut off will turn off engine at stoplight but fail to restart engine when brake is released. Extremely unsafe. It has happened multiple times and each time we are afraid there will be an accident because we are sitting ducks and not accelerating when traffic expects us to.

The vehicle in question has the idle stop function, which turns off the vehicle when certain conditions are met. Randomly, the vehicle does not restart on its own which forces me to power cycle the vehicle in order for it to start back up. This is a safety issue because the vehicle has been stuck in the middle of an intersection while I am trying to get it restarted.

The auto stop/start gas saving feature often results with the car being unable to automatically restart. When this happens, in traffic, I am forced to put the car in park, and hopefully, manually restart the vehicle. This has resulted in the need for roadside assistance, several times (the car requires a jump).

When the car is stopped (like at an intersection), the auto ignition stop activates. Sometimes when the accelerator is pressed to start the car again, the car seems to blink, the radio resets, and the car shifts itself into Neutral displaying a sign the driver should shift into Park. Then we have to put the car in park and restart the car.

When the idle stop system is engaged and the brake is depressed to activate the vehicle engine to shut off (at a red light for example), sometimes when lifting your foot off the gas the vehicle does not restart as it is designed to.

The pilot turns the engine off while idling to save fuel. Twice this week when I have been stopped at stop lights it becomes unresponsive and I am unable to get the car back into gear. Attempts to turn the car on and off and to restart the car don't work.

When the car is stopped it will sometimes turn off. It has happened at least twice in the last week - once in a drive through and once at a stop sign. The cat comes to a stop normally but when it is time to accelerate the engine turns off & the electrical starts acting weird.

While at a stop light the idle stop engaged but when I lift my foot off the brake to begin moving forward the auto-start failed to start and vehicle reported battery failure. Put Pilot in park and made 3-5 attempts to restart before successful. Cars nearly rear ended me and my children who were in the back.

I purchased brand new elite 2019 pilot in april of 2019. Immediately after purchase I had horrible static coming through all speakers, at times vehicle would not start, randomly the vehicle would sense a collision even when I was only one on road, windshield wipers come on randomly and other electrical issues would occur, brake light flashes randomly.

This issue has happened several times since buying the pilot in 2019. While driving the car, the infotainment system freezes up and stops working. The use of the backup camera, radio, GPS, and any of the features on the screen are not usable.

Malfunction backup camera, infotainment system, odometer display: since around 1 month after purchasing the car, vehicles odometer display and infotainment system display blacks out and malfunctions during driving almost daily. Along with this the sound system crackles. It only resets once the vehicle is completely off.

While driving 65 MPH on the highway, the panel and the entertainment system (GPS) crashed. The screen restarted and then turned on in an unusable state (none of the buttons worked). To say the least, this experience was very distracting while driving on the highway.

Vehicle computer system crashes frequently. All voice controls and hands free applications stop working. Computer screen does not shut off even when vehicle is turned off, locked and left over night.

Our 2019 honda pilot has electrical issues which started around 11k miles, the dash lights will go out, crackling noises come from the speakers, the backup camera's go out, radio quits working, phone system will not work, inability to turn on or off safety features. At times on curves the vehicle will think a car coming towards us is heading into our car and will apply the brakes strongly.

This happens while driving the infotainment system will frequently freeze or crash, disabling features including the navigation system, radio and rear view camera. The problem will continue to cycle over and over until you shut off the car and restart it.

"network connection lost" when using infotainment system. Dash/speed cluster goes black and reboots in mid drive. "fm unavailable" displayed when listening to radio.

I purchased my vehicle in march of 2019, by may my dash/radio went out. First it started when bluetooth was connected, it would sound like a cracking noise, like static. This is all while vehicle is on and in driving mode.

Our "network" components were not working. At high speeds, the adaptive cruise control would not brake properly and could have caused an accident. The "brake" sensor is not working properly.

Your brake light is on, cruise control has stopped working, and the lane departure warning system is active but not functioning properly due to a faulty windshield sensor. You're unable to use cruise control or the lane departure assistant, and you're concerned this may affect the emergency braking system when needed. The fix will likely involve inspecting or replacing the windshield sensor and diagnosing the related electrical connections.

I believe this car was subject to the recall where something about the AIS system needed to be fixed. The initial problem was the car would stall out at lights when the AIS system was activated. I went in for the recall and had not experienced the problem since.

The idle-stop feature on our 2019 Honda Pilot is faulty. The idle-stop is intended to shut off the engine, or put it into an idling state, at stop lights in order to improve fuel efficiency. However, on a recurring basis (at least once a week, often times several times per week), our Pilot will shut off at a stop light and fail to restart.

My 2019 Honda Pilot start/stop feature shut down my car in a busy intersection and would not start up again. Dashboard warning lights flickered and no response to trying to start the vehicle. Towed to dealer at my expense and had to replace battery on 04/04/2023 for 2019 car.

Our Honda had a failure while driving on the highway.

Just started, while driving in high winds: electrical power steering problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, trailer stability assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem. Brake system warning light is also on. I don’t have a towing system installed- so that’s odd to get a warning for trailer stability.

Honda's 100 month batterys are dying well before the 100 month period due to the start-stop systems which already have a recall. Ours began leaving the vehicle stranded in 2022 and it continues today.

My car has shifted from both park to neutral and drive to neutral on its own three times in the last six weeks. This has occurred when parked and when at a red light. My gear shifters are electric push buttons.

My back up camera has an issue where it is showing a green and purple tint that is distorting the view. It functions every time I put the car in reverse, but I can barely see what is on the screen because of the colors. I almost hit a person because I could not see her in the back up camera.

The alarm sounded all through the night killing the battery leaving me stranded almost 500 miles from home. Took it to the Honda in Pensacola to be diagnosed only to be told they couldn’t get the part and had to pay a $80 fee on top of renting a car to use while out of town.

Auto Idle function stopped the engine while waiting to make a left hand turn on a busy street. When trying to make the left hand turn the engine was unable to restart resulting in engine warning lights as well as battery warning lights and a complete shutdown of the car and all systems.

Auto off engine idle. At stop after activating the auto off, the engine cuts off and no power to move vehicle. Unable to restart or shift into park for at least 20 seconds.

The Infotainment System in my 2019 Honda Pilot Touring has had problems with its display since September 2020 when it went dim/dark all by itself while driving. The unit would come back on at some point by itself. The unit would not acknowledge the controls being accessed by me.

For several months I have been experiencing occasionally and randomly a complete shut down of my vehicle whenever I'm at a complete stop. Auto idle start/stop stalls at intersection. Auto idle engages normally, but when release foot from brake, car acts like it is going to restart the engine as it should, instead it kicks the car in neutral and accessory mode. You have to press the brake, press the start/stop button multiple times to get it to restart.

I am actually reporting two incidences, since the first (never reported) now appears to be related. 1st: In March 2022 (approx 35,600 miles on the vehicle), the vehicle completely shut down after attempting to accelerate back out of the auto-idle stop mode. I was stopped at a traffic light on a Highway off-ramp in rush hour traffic.

this is my second complaint as the auto start stop has failed again. This morning on the way to work, the auto start/stop engaged at an intersection. When the light turned green and I tried to go, the car wouldn't turn over.

Auto Start/Stop capability not working effectively and causes safety concerns with my children in the car. There has been numerous times where the car will NOT start back up leaving me stranded in intersections/traffic. Vehicle has auto idle feature that activates when car comes to complete stop. Typically, the engine restarts when you take your foot off the brake, however, there have now been three occasions that the system did not restart the engine and the car stalled. I have contacted several Honda dealers and they are all aware of this issue but do not have a way to fix the issue.

Starting in early 2021 at around 40,000 miles my auto idle stop working causing my pilot to stall while in stop and go on interstate, at stop lights and and stop signs. Basically everytime the SUV comes to a stop, it completely shuts down car. I have to shift back to park and start engine again , sometimes it takes a few minutes and a few tries.

In heavy traffic at the airport, when I was slowing down and stopping the Automatic Start/Stop functionality caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle then went into neutral on it's own. I put the vehicle in park and it would not start (As if the vehicle had a dead battery or alternator issue).

I stopped at a red light downtown. The auto engine stop/start did not start when the green light came. It was not possible to change gears or place the car in neutral.

Car stalls at a stoplight. Battery was completely depleted so it wouldn't restart. I couldn't even open the windows on a hot day b/c the battery was depleted.

We have had ongoing issues with the satellite cutting out and losing signal (can’t use GPS and the clock just says 8:00 no matter what time) since about 20,000 miles. The vehicle now has about 32,000 miles on it. The larger issue happened a few weeks back.

The radio in this vehicle freezes, produces static feedback and electrical feedback while operating the touchscreen. Sound from the speakers becomes distorted and lacking power. Electrical surging can be heard.

Because the front camera has malfunctioned, all electronic warnings are permanently displayed on dash upon start of car, including Engine light and Brake system warnings.

The forward facing camera on the windshield is failing and warning lights on the dashboard keep going off making the ADAS system inoperative. This is also draining the battery. I am told that only Honda has the capability to troubleshoot and repair / replace this camera.

All the ADAS systems have stopped working. I get warnings and beeping as I drive my vehicle. Numerous people are telling me that it is the $2,000 front sensing camera that needs to be replaced.

Honda had issued a recall on the MOST coax cable in 2023 or 2024. As I had issues with mine, and my vehicle was part of the recall, I had it repaired in 2024. For the last 3 months, the issue has started again.

While driving and sometimes even when in reverse the stereo screen blacks out and a popping sound comes from the speakers. Sometimes the screen resets after a few minutes, and other times it won’t come back on until the car is shut off and restarted.

The audio system has loud crackling and popping noise that happens intermittently, causing the audio to stop working. Honda has issued a recall for 2020 models, noting that the noise is caused by loose or damaged connectors in the MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) network, which is part of the infotainment system and also powers the backup camera.

On [XXX] a code p0430 appeared on the dash board screen. The car was making a strange noise coming from the engine. I took the car to Integrity Auto Repair shop in McAllen, Texas, they checked the code and said that it was the catalytic converters that were going bad.

The rear camera has suddenly changed to a rainbow effect and is very difficult to distinguish details related to be safe view it is designed to display. There was a recall related to the cable connection of the rear camera which is not related to this new color change issue. Honda dealership only offers to replace camera not under a warranty.

My 2019 Hoda Pilot Touring often suddenly changed to N (Neutral), not moving when I release the brake pedal on the freeway when traffic is slow (stop and go) or when at the stop at the intersession. I had to hit (shift) to D (Drive) or sometimes it was getting worse, I had to hit Restart button to resume driving.

I was driving home at around midnight on the interstate, when my radio stopped working and digital dash screen just turned off.

Sometimes when I stop in traffic, the idle-stop feature doesn't turn the engine back on. Engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the Auto Start/Stop function engaged. This has happened multiple times.

I am experiencing two ongoing issues with my vehicle that have not been resolved despite recent recall repairs (fuel pump and hood striker). Acceleration Stutter Issue When accelerating, the car shakes/stutters before finally picking up speed. I initially thought the fuel pump recall repair would fix this, but the problem persists.

My Honda Pilot has a previous recall for the infotainment system. Recall # 20V439000 or Honda recall # T89. I purchased this vehicle used in June 2024 with the knowledge this recall had been repaired.

When car is stopped at light/stop sign, etc, the car automatically shifts into neutral and battery light comes on, car will not shift out of neutral or turn on. Car has to be shut off which involves pushing start button several times before it will shut off. Wait a few seconds and then it will reset and drive.

Screen on backup camera is not clear. It now has purple and green coloring and is impeding the picture on the screen. The dealership thinks it is due to the wiring with the backup camera.

The backup camera became distorted and pixelated. Confirmed by the dealership. No warnings or symptoms prior to the issue initiating.

The MOST communication cable connector recall causes the rear view camera to die early due to excess electrical noise going through the wire. There are many reports of the rear view cameras dying quickly due to the electrical issue of the MOST cable. The recall needs to cover the camera as well as the cable connectors, as they suffer damage as a result of the poor connection.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while at a stop light with the Auto START/STOP feature activated, the vehicle did not immediately restart after releasing the brake pedal. The contact had to shift to the park and restart the vehicle manually.

Backup camera recently began displaying a purple and green screen making the image in the backup view unable to be seen. Vehicle is garage parked or nearly always under covered parking. Taken to a Honda dealership and told camera needs to be replaced.

Car dies at stop lights, we believe this is related to the idle stop. The battery was replaced battery 4 months ago due to the same issue.

For several months there was a crackling sound coming from the dashboard/ speakers. I mentioned this problem to my service advisor on at least 2 different appointments and even showed him a recording of the problem. It was never fixed.

While driving and vehicle is in motion, vehicle loses all power, all electrical components turn off and vehicle shuts off. To reiterate, this is not the idle stop power down, this is the entire vehicle shutting off. Last time I was driving at 45 MPH when all power lost.

My 2019 Honda Pilot Touring (7 passenger) has a defect with the auto stop-start system that is a major (and scary!) safety concern. On a handful of occasions over the past couple of years, when stopped at a traffic light (and the auto stop-start feature engages) the engine will fair to restart.

The rear view camera isn't working. The camera itself is the problem according to the dealer, which isn't covered by a similar recall that was related to a cable. They claim the module itself stopped functioning for no known reasoning, which costs about $800 to replace.

Was driving normal and the windshield camera radar fail, and a lot of warning lights come on, take to a dealer and told me that some internal part of the camera fail, and need to be replace, they estimate for that is $1600, now I’m driving with out automatic brake, no cruise control, no line keeping assistant, 2019 Honda Pilot Ex-L, I think is a common problem and need to recall this,.

NHTSA Recall # 23V-431. MOST cable needs to be replaced for the backup camera. Received recall notification on August 5, contacted dealer on August 7 to schedule repair.

Crackling sound in speakers and error message on touch screen (entertainment screen front) MOST NET OFF and screen goes off. This is a safety issue as when we are drving on roads we are usually relying on google maps, when screen goes off during critical turns, driver gets distracted and park the car to side road, which sometimes is dangerous due to other fast moving vehicles.

My wife was driving the car with our six-year old son. She stopped at a red light. The engine turned off from the auto-stop function (which we find annoying but cannot be permanently disabled) and the car would not restart.

The entertainment display which is also the rear view camera display, turns off intermittently during driving and displays the following message: Network communication lost MOST Net Off. When this happens the rear view/back up camera doesn’t function creating an unsafe situation. The display will work again after turning the car off and then back on.

On friday March 3, 2023 driving home from work, stop at a light and the car does not turn back on. It took at least 10 minutes to finally turn on for me to at least get home. I know that this is probably once again a battery issue.

Honda Pilot, 2019. Loose wiring causing the infotainment center and lane assist to go out while driving, there is a service bulletin out there, but dealership will not repair. Bulletin number 20-058.

Often times when accelerating the car has issues and will sometimes feel like it is dropping down a shift while I am in the middle of accelerating. Also, if Idle stop is left on, the car will sometimes shut off completely before turning back on. Yesterday, the car shut off completely then turned back on but I could not get it out of neutral.

Car has failed to restart multiple times after the idle mode feature kicks in when coming to a complete stop. Emergency lights also do not function when this occurs making this very dangerous, especially at night. It can take several minutes before the car starts.

In AUg 2021 when the auto stop engaged the car would fail to turn on. Errors would come on on the dash and while car would die at stoplight. Took to dealer and they could not replicate so nothing was done.

Today is the 6th time our Honda has had issues either the automatic start/stop system failing when at a stop light. The car will stop and shut off like it is supposed to, but will not restart. Car needs to be put into park, turned off, restarted, shift back into drive.

On several occasions my vehicle has acted as if it were going to die at a stoplight or intersection where the brake pedal was pushed enough to trigger the auto-off function. It did not start doing this until the last several months. I assumed it was because I did not have my foot pressed enough.

"Check Engine" light comes on, followed by "Emissions System" problem, then "AWD" problem, and also "Transmission" light with a message to pull over and find a safe location. Have brought in for the "Emissions Systems" problem and AWD multiple times, but problem re-appears within a day. Uploading one invoice of many.

On multiple occasions the auto start/stop has failed when releasing brake pedal vehicle will completely shut off and takes multiple attempts to turn back on. This is a hazard due to the fact that it has occured on busy streets and state highways. At this time vehicle has not been inspected by dealer we do plan on taking it in asap.

Car fails to start after a short drive and parked and always requires a jump start. Car also fails to restart after a stop/start at a complete stop! Has happened multiple times in busy intersections where you’re a sitting target for moving traffic.

There is a problem with the auto engine idle stop system. If I don't turn it off every time I start the car, then the car has a really difficult time re-starting when it automatically turns off at a stop light. This is especially true if the A/C is running.

The stop-start function has not restarted on a couple occasions. I have been at a stop light released my foot from the gas and the failure has occurred. The vehicle was auto shifted into neutral.

The Auto Stop Start function is killing the car engine at intersections and on ramps. When the brake pedal is released, the car power stops and kills the engine. The car then has to be be in park and restarted - sometimes the car struggles to start.

Having Crackling noise coming from the front dash of my car which interferes with the radio and the screen of my radio. Seems to be the electrical problem but if it’s shutting down the radio it’s possible that it could totally shut down my car while driving . It has become a safety issue.

The touchscreen unit on this car, which controls the entire vehicle and contains the backup camera, navigation, and all safety controls has not worked correctly since the day I bought it brand new. The touchscreen freezes while driving and cannot be used further without parking the car, turning off the engine, opening the driver's door, and then re-starting the vehicle.

The radio/backing camera/phone...panel goes black while I am driving daily on city streets or the highway. Sometimes the speed and indicator panel also goes black while I am driving. I have taken this in multiple times since I purchased the car and they have not resolved it.

The center control panel was recalled due to the computer system malfunctions. I took the vehicle to the dealer for the repair. Nevertheless, the control panel continues to sporadically shut down while the car is in operation.

This is has been going on since I bought the car two years ago. Audio constantly goes out everyday. When I open any door it turns off with or without bluetooth connected.

Our 2019 honda pilot has been making static like popcorn popping sounds for some time. My wife went into labor and we were rushing to the hospital in the pouring rain driving on the highway, and the popping sound started again and all the electronics shut down. I was unable to see the speed, navigation etc.

Purchased vehicle in january 2019. Around march 2019 the speakers began to make crackling and popping noises at random times - but could reliably be reproduced when locking the doors. Soon thereafter, the main display would infrequently pop and go black, then come back on.

The issue started with cracking/popping in the speakers. We then get a warning saying "check tuner" and then the infotainment system and the display behind the steering wheel shutdown. We lose all safety information provided by the infotainment system as well as the speedometer.

The infotainment fails almost on a daily basis which means that interior, electrical features fail. Examples include a black or gray screen which blocks the ability to see speed being driven, bluetooth, radio, phone, navigation all fail which causes driver to take eyes off road to attempt to fix or disconnect phone when driving.

The vehicle has frequently had an issue with the infotainment system glitching which leads to the lkas (lane keep assist), aac (adaptive cruise control), and lane departure system to fail while the vehicle is in motion. When turning the car off after these issues occur, the infotainment system will stay on, draining the battery. The vehicle has been taken to a honda dealership.

Digital instrument panel that contains all gauges (speedometer, tachometer, gas gauge, etc.) intermittently turns off while the car is in operation. The screen goes entirely black as if the car is not on, meaning we do not have a functioning speedometer while the car is in operation when this occurs. We've had the car at the dealership twice for this issue and it still isn't resolved.

Dash and media console turn off randomly. can't see what saftey features are on including speed. Dealer had one other pilot in today with same issue.

The dashboard has a popping/cracking noise all the time like electric short when listening to music or radio it sounds like a scatch cd all the time or if the stereo its off still does it I have take it to the dealer four times they said they know about the problem but are waiting on honda for the next step but there are a lot of cars affected with the same problem I hope they do a recalled to fix this

Randomly the center counsel display will go blank as well as the driver's side display which contains the speedometer. Also failing at the same time is the dvd player. We also experience a 'popping' noise through the speakers, even with audio system turned off.

Purchased a 2019 pilot elite in february and in may issues started with a cracking noise that seemed to come from the speakers. It then became issues with the infotainment, speedometer and dvd player blacking out while driving. Dealership replaced a wiring harness, this fixed the issue for a month then it all returned.

Purchased pilot on april 2019. Started having problems with the infotainment system on june 2019 (moving and stopped- city and highway). System keeps shutting down, disconnecting phone calls, plays music as if looses connection (fm, am and sat).

The digital speedometer and infotainment system shut off and restart at random. In addition, the speakers crackle, the radio stops working, the backup camera does not always engage when going in reverse. The digital speedometer screen has turned off twice and the only (temporary) solution was for the dealer to reset the system.

While driving on the throughway I heard popping noise when I hit a bump, then gets worse and lost my radio sounds and controls on my infotainment. I lost my speedometer and my infotainment system completely off then restarts several times saying lost network connection until it completely turned off. I cannot turn it on by pushing the power button.

Purchased 2019 honda pilot elite in february 2019. Noticed a popping sound while driving it home that sounded like sand or rocks slightly amplified hitting the windshield intermittently. This has continued and over the next few months it became apparent the sound was not actually from the windshield but associated with the speakers/electrical system.

I purchased the vehicle on august 10, 2019. Within 2 weeks the radio began making a popping and cracking sound that sounded like rocks hitting the windshield. This sound happens daily when I drive the vehicle.

There are several issues and they have happened many times - all related to electrical system, speedometer and infotainment defects. The infotainment and dash display including the speedometer shut off while driving. This includes the speedometer, all safety features, cruise control shutting off while driving.

While driving the car in motion, the infotainment system periodically and randomly will 'lose connection' and blackout. When this happens the entire dashboard blacks out and there is no information regarding emergency warnings or speedometer for at least 10 seconds, sometimes more. I have no idea of how fast I am going or if there are any emergency warnings.

Honda infotainment issue: purchased a new 2019 pilot (touring) with 22 miles on it on 22 july 2019. On 26 july 2019 while driving on I-10 from phoenix the audio quit and the screen went blank. Once we stopped and used reverse discovered there was no back up camera and the screen would not turn off when the car was turned off.took to dealer, they "fixed" it.

Slowly the system started to fail phone would work radio wouldn't work screens would go off and on and finally the screen went black and never recovered. They put new driver interface instrumental panel and it still didn't work so honda changed the wiring harnesses inflowtainment system.

8 days after purchase and less than 200 miles, the rear entertainment screen stopped working. The dealer kept the vehicle for 7 days and replaced the res screen. When the vehicle was returned to us, the res screen immediately failed to turn on.

Recurrent problem. Started when vehicle was 2 months old. Taken car to dealer service department.

While driving, both highway and around town, loud crackling would occur through the speakers. Then both the navigation screen and/or the speedometer screen would go completely black. The message "network connection lost" would sometimes appear.

The rear camera display is distorted and shows a huge amount of colors making it impossible to view any objects behind the car and causing a safety hazard that could result in backing over a child or other item

Vehicle adaptive cruise control and emergency braking completely stopped working.

While operating I was on Highway driving my car the driver seat was set up according to my height, when I use the break to slow down for the heavy traffic during the rush hour wasn't that fast at all I believe my car was at 30 in MPH around somehow my car seat dropped too low and I was afraid that I can barley seen in the front.

When driving long distances (10+ miles), the entertainment system suddenly goes black and shows an error message that says “Network Communication Lost. MOST Net Off.” This includes the CarPlay/navigation system, backup camera, etc. which causes distractions, navigation challenges, and impacts safety when happening mid-drive.

Stopped at an intersection at approximately 2:40pm on August 28, 2025. The auto -stop/start stopped the engine and it would not restart.

This was my first experience with an electrical/engine/battery issue with this pilot. I was in the midst of driving during a 14 hour road trip. In the middle of my drive I needed to stop for gas.

Rear camera (74810-TG7-A41) view is distorted, shows green, red, purple among others, unable to determine any images. Back over can easily occur as view is useless.Car currently has 26,101 miles, this first started around 22,000 miles.

The backup camera exhibits image distortion, posing a safety hazard.

On going issues with 2019 Hondas and their reverse cameras dying after warranty expires. Lots of complaints, not associated to cable recalls. Documented history of color on backup camera going sepia/florescent.

Several times now when stopped at a red light, my vehicle's idle-stop features turns of the car and fails to restart when taking my foot off the brake. The screen behind the steering wheel says to take the vehicle out of neutral and restart but it is still in drive, the battery light also comes on.

The reverse camera suddenly started displaying distorted colors on approximately 1/3 of the screen. Turning the vehicle on and off has no impact. The previous recall for Fakra service cable replacement had no impact.

On several occasions my 2019 Honda Pilot Touring AWD with Idle start/stop will not restart when the idle start/stop kicks in. At a stop light several times when I come to a stop and the engine will turn off and not restart when the idle start/stop engages. Very dangerous and a clear safety issue that Honda needs to rectify asap.

The back up camera is no longer working, I see online lots of reports. Hoping enough reports to issue a recall, the fix is over $800

Reverse camera is failing. Screen flickers badly and can’t safely see what’s behind the vehicle, low to the ground, when reversing.

Auto start stop feature did not restart engine after I stopped in traffic ahead of me on [XXX] in New Hyde Park. This has happened twice to me and a few times to my wife although she did not report them through this site. All this is after I had reported earlier the same incidents and Honda diagnosed it to the battery needing replacement after 2 years.

This 2019 Honda Pilot Elite has an Engine Auto Shut Off that engages when stopped at traffic lights, stopped traffic, etc. It can be turned off manually each time after starting the car ignition but when it is not - it will engage in these stopped positions. Recently, the Auto Shut Off has been engaging and the vehicle will completely shut off and go into Neutral.

Twice now when waiting at a light the auto idle turns the engine off. When the light has turned green, I go to step on the gas and the car shuts completely off. I need to put it in park, step on the break and restart my car.

The automatic start/stop system turns the car off at red lights, as it it supposed to. However, several times the car will not start when I push the gas pedal but instead the whole car turns off. It takes opening and closing the door while pushing the park button and the engine start button to turn the car back on.

Took my Honda Pilot 2019 for emissions test Vehicle Emmssion inspection MVA VEIP told me they having issues with this 2019 Honda especially the Honda Pilot and added manufacturing issues. My $14 was refunded back. Can someone please look into this issue for us.

Display says connecting and no signal even for fm radio. This is dangerous distraction and leaves us unable to administer navigation, safety items or any other on board information.

The driver display and the infotainment system of the honda pilot continuously goes blank and not sure what other effects it has on the vehicle as the drive is unable to see the speed they are driving or if anything else is working in the vehicle. This is a safety hazard especially when using speed control or other devices. This happens in motion, on highways, city streets, and stationary.

The following occur on a daily basis: radio crackles and pops. The radio display goes blank and will not work for several minutes to hours. The following occur sporadically: the instrument panel (including speedometer) goes blank while driving.

Speedometer and control head completly blank-- dead

The issue is related to the honda infotainment system. After only 2000 miles the system began having issues. While the driver is driving, the center display and the display on the control panel will frequently go blank.

Drivers side mirror shakes while driving. Center control stopped working completely. Loud sound will come over on the radio and then all systems stop working.

I bought my 2019 honda pilot ex-l without nav and res today (24may2019). I drove it 40 miles home with no issues. My wife just took it for a drive around the block approximately 1 mile and the infotainment system stopped working and the screen just had the honda logo on it while she was driving it.

At about 300 miles entire display does not work on cold start and throughout the day. Screen flashes blue and then activates, however does not remain on. No rear view camera, navigation, or other apps available to the driver.

When driving the car, the instrument panel (including the speedometer) will shut off for approximately 2 minutes, and the reboot. This result in the inability to tell exactly how fast the vehicle is moving. This will occur under multiple conditions while the car is in drive, and is not dependent on the type of road being driven on.
