2019 Honda Odyssey Suspension Problems

Driver Rear suspension coil spring broke in half while vehicle was parked. I just got out of the van and there was a loud nose and the van dropped a few inches If I was driving at the time I could have lost control and crashed.

While driving on highway rear Left spring which is a ver heavy duty spring broke into pieces without any accident but could have caused catastrophic event. This needs to be investigated as per even dealer said this is very unusual , this sprng coil never breaks and could cause death. This is a metallic issue with Mattel.

2nd row driver and passenger seats do not "lock" into place when folded forward, creating a "free flying" seat when driving/in motion and an entrapment issue when parked for 3rd row passengers attempting to exit the 3rd row. This is specially dangerous on a hill. My 3 year old has been hit and injured by the seat on a several occasions.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was exiting a parking lot driving approximately 5 MPH, the passenger’s side rear of the vehicle unintendedly lowered approximately 8 inches. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger’s side rear coil spring needed to be replaced.

It is been only 6 years with 100% city and highway driving and dealer informed me that bushings are already cracking and need to be replaced soon. Car is in mint very good conditions with no other issues.

Noticed clunking noise from rear of car when going over sharp bumps. Inspecting rear suspension revealed the rear driver side coil spring is broken near the bottom of the coil. Judging by amount of rust on the broken ends this has been broken for some time.

I took the van into Honda and they said the back 2 rear springs were broken. But the parts (springs) were on back order. I called dealers all over Ontario, New York and Virginia(because I have family in those states) and discovered that none of them had the part or that if they did they were not allowed to sell them because they had a line up of customers that needed them.

Car automatically shifts the transmission to the park position while in motion; brakes were locked automatically and the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road.
