2016 Honda Accord Lights Problems

Both of my drl's are out on my 2016 honda accord sport. It has a little over 32,000 miles on it. I will be going to the dealership tomorrow to speak about this issue.

Months ago I was in a car accident because an air bag error popped up on my screen and by the time I looked up I hit another vehicle. There is always something wrong with this car and I haven't even had it for a full 3 years

I was traveling I-24 eastbound on the final leg of a 650 mile trip. It was about 8:30- 8:45 et. I was passing through marion county near monteagle (tn) when my headlights dimmed so that I could not see.

Touring model daytime running light (drl) LED strip is 70% un-lit on one headlight. This appears to be an extremely common problem and requires replacement of the entire headlight assembly, dealer part cost $945, install not included. From my research it appears these burn out early and often and drl's are listed as a safety feature.

The LED strip on my headlights overheated and failed, they are no longer operating. I am unable to use this safety feature on my car.

Both low beam headlights burn out at the "same time". This has happened twice in 1 year. I have not had any inspections done yet.

Hey diycarmodz I'm a long time subscriber and bought a 2016 accord coupe ex-l inspired by your vids. There's an issue on the 2016 & 2017 accords coupes and sedans that is becoming a huge headache for a lot of owners. The drl LED burns out which is expected to last the life of the car.

The LED running lights was burned out easily. LED running lights is a safety features of the vehicle that requires to be on at all times per dot. There is no option of replacing the lights.

Daytime running lights failing twice in two years. This is a very costly issue since the whole light assembly needs to be replaced at $1200 each.. This is advertised under the safety features section of the vehicle.

Back in sept 2017, my drivers side drl LED strip went out, and honda replaced it, but charged me a deductible of $100. Aroung may first, 2018, my passenger side drl LED strip went out, and honda is saying that the first one was a courtesy, but I have to pay for the majority of the repair this time. Looking up different accord forums, the 2016 model seems to have an issue with the drl LED strips.

Purchased honda accord in 2017 for trips & highway driving. At 34k miles the drivers side drl running lights started to fade and then went completely out. Took back to dealership for repair and because the car now had 39k miles will not fix.

The daylight running lights (LED) failed at appx. 37,0000 miles. The problem seems to be an inadequate heat sink on one LED chip which causes the acrylic tube to melt, bad design.

The driver side daytime running light has failed to work. It doesn't work in any scenario (moving, stationary, etc). Since these are LED headlights, it requires replacing the entire headlight assembly and can't be individually repaired.

Dealer replaced LED passenger headlight at 30,000 miles there is definitely a issue with the headlights hoping the driver side doesn't go out after 35,000 .. This is a on going issue with this model there should be a recall on these lights

I have a 2016 honda accord sport that I bought brand new. A friend had noticed that the driver-side's LED daytime running light was only half-lit. I took it to my honda dealer and it was immediately noticeable that they were familiar with the problem and immediately said it was covered under my warranty.

LED daytime lights /replaced driver side at 17,000 miles now passenger side needs to be replaced at 27,000 miles this item cost alone is $1300 each making it $2600 to replace this amount does not include labor. I believe honda needs to recall the LED lights and replace... This will not be fair to owners of this model once they reach 36,000 miles and the warranty is now void.....

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. The contact stated that the day time running lights failed to illuminate on the driver's side. The contact called an unknown dealer and was informed that the bulb needed to be replaced and the contact would have to pay out of pocket.

LED headlight running lights go out after 1 year. Both headlights have been replaced three times at dealership. Based emails other hondas touring models have had same issue caused by defective heat sink in the headlight.

LED daytime running lights at the underside of the headlight have gone out. This is a safety hazard as many other cars the drls turn off before the turn signal is indicated. Can give other drivers false indication of turning possibly.

LED on the daytime running light strip on the headlight is prone to burning out. Had to recently replace passenger side due to burn out caused by poor chip design. Without daytime light the car is more susceptible to drivers not paying attention.

At 50,000 miles my LED light burnt out

One bottom (main) section of the passenger-side day-time running LED strip burned out. Now only the side portion remains on. Both LED strips need to be on in order to provide safety (better visible to other cars on the road) for my black car during the daytime.

I have a 2016 honda accord and the drl on the passenger side have burned out. I have been doing research online and this appears to be a common problem with this model and the 2017. My car is approximately 2 years old and should not have this issue.

LED daylight driving safety lights failed at 44400 mi and 2 3/4 years old (out of any warranty) requiring replacement of whole driver's side headlight assembly at a cost of $736. This is obviously poor safety design of the leds with no mechanism for replace beyond the whole headlight assembly. Vehicle was in motion when the driving lights failed and there was no obvious indication.

After driving the vehicle for only 20,000 miles, both daytime running lights shut off and stopped working. The daytime running headlights were not part of any honda warranty due. The day time running headlight appear to be affected by a electrical issue or possibly a defect in the headlight itself.

I found out that the driver's side day light LED strip went out today. Given that I rarely check the head light condition , it should have gone out long time ago. I did some research and seems like 2016 accord model have same problem.

Not able to pass my state inspection because my LED day-time running lights on both left and right headlights is burnt out on bottom tubing. This could be a reoccuring issue for this model year and needs to be reported to honda for a recall claim. Others have reported this same issue as a design flaw and needs to be addressed by honda.+

Like many others my LED passenger side daytime running lamp has failed after only 38000 miles. This is only 2000 miles outside of the warranty. I fully expect the other side to go out as well.

Both drls are defective at 61,533 miles. Part of the LED strip has failed on both sides. This is a chronic and common issue with the 2016 honda accord.

Left side daytime running light strip does not light up for half of its length. The medial or inner half does not light up. I noticed this at 41000 miles on the car.

I have a problem with the LED drl in both headlights. I notice on the internet that a lot of honda accord v6 touring owners had the same complaint. I think that this is a problem that honda needs to fix.

The daytime running lights have a high failure rate. We had to replace them twice before the 36,000 mile manufacturer's warranty ran out and they failed again at 37,000 miles. The cost to replace this safety feature is $1200 for one side.

The drivers side LED daylight running lights are going out on several of the newer model honda accord sport and touring models. This is safety feature that appears to be failing on multiple models, which leads me to believe this is a manufacturing defect. After researching online I have found several consumers that have ,and or are experienced the same issue.

A portion of the LED daytime running lights (drl) immediately below the headlights on the driver side has burned out. Should not happen on a car with only 52k miles.

LED lights are out again since my car reach 45000 miles it no longer covered. I had my car since feb. 2017 it had 21000 miles within 8 mos its shows I put 30000 miles on it.

I pushed on brakes and it accelerated real fast I turn to right and it hit a fence then fence on other side of road I made this turn 3 or 4 times and then it went thru a gate and hit the back fence and the car still was trying to go cut off key.
