2015 Ford Fusion Brakes Problems

I've had recurring issues of brake failure. Thankfully, none of the issues have resulted in fatality, injury or major damage. My most recent issue happened as I was leaving my job.

Front passenger brake hose split. While driving the brake hose made an audible pop sound and fluid was released. Had I been driving at a high rate of speed (on an interstate) I could have created a multi-vehicle crash, potentially killing other drivers and, or myself.

I was in line at a drive thru and my brakes suddenly went to the floor. I was close to home so I drove carefully having to press the brakes all the way to the floor to stop,barely. I did a visual inspection and saw brake fluid coming from my right front brake line.

BLUF: Safety issue related to the brake sensor pad failing, resulting in unpredictable engine performance. On 02JUL21, I went to eat lunch and parked my car as normal. When I returned to my car, I noticed that my brake lights were still on, despite the engine being off and me being away from the car for 30 minutes.

Traveling in traffic around 25 MPH with traffic slowing to a stop the brake pedal went soft and was pressed to the floor with almost no braking at all. This resulted in a rear end collision.

While my wife was in a drive thru moving forward slowly she reported that the rake pedal depressed all of the way to the floor and had a hard time stopping the car. Wife inspected brake fluid reservoir and found it to be completely bone dry. Dealership found the right front brake line to have failed causing all of the fluid to leak out and the brakes to fail.

July 1 2023 Me and my daughter were driving to go to fireworks and without warning the brakes went out completely. Hose busted on driver side

In April 2023 I received a recall letter, called immediately to set up an appointment to have it fixed. I was told the parts were not available, and to check back in June or July. Memorial Day weekend of 2023 I was driving home, when without warning, the brake line that is recalled had failed.. There was no warning. Thankfully I was able to coast to a stop. The dealership says the parts are not available. How long will this take.?

The power brake booster is driven by a custom Ford bolt driven by the camshaft. This bolt failed with the result that it was extremely hard to stop the vehicle with both feet on the brake pedal. I looked online for advice and found this is a very common failure. Then while trying to get a replacement bolt, every Ford dealer in North America that I contacted has them on back order so this is an extremely common failure.Obviously anyone around one of these vehicles are at risk when this part fails which is very clearly a common occurrence. This happens with no warning at all.

My Ford Fusion hybrid is no longer safe to drive. I keep it parked in front of my work. I’ve had 2 Mechanics I know personally look at it and they both say the break line is cracked and is spraying out break fluid. I was driving in a stormy day and all of the sudden the break light, traction control light, slippery roads light, abs light, and advance service tech appeared. All at once I knew to drive slow and safe since I had no traction control. I restarted my car and all the lights disappeared. Than as I’m driving the next day, Low break fluid was on the screen but for only a second. And it did that every time I would hit the break. So I bought break fluid and filled it up. I pressed on the breaks many times and turned the wheel to the left so I can look in the wheel well I noticed the leak and immediately knew I needed to get it serviced. I unfortunately don’t have the money and it is gonna remain in front of my work till I can figure out what to do. I looked online to find solutions and found some recalls but when I looked up my vin it didn’t show up for my car. I can attach the recalls I found that look like they are for this issue. Rear brakes locked up, causing brake pad, caliper, and rotor failure. All components replaced for left and right side rear. Right rear brakes failed a second time including complete brake failure with brake pedal traveling to the floor, same parts replaced. Front right brake line hose ruptured during use on highway to slow vehicle and disengage cruise control. While doing so a loss of resistance was noticed and vehicle was safely driven to a stop with E-brake assistance. Hose was replaced by owner with aftermarket part.

In june 2020, while driving and braking for stop signs and traffic lights, brake pedal started to get a little mushy, then the next time I stepped on brake I heard/felt a "pop" and brakes were failing and brake fluid light came on. I pulled off and a mechanic saw that the left brake line was broken, unsafe to drive and would need replacing.

This is car is original under recall 22V011000 as this car registered in Texas, but that recalls goes away and can no longer found in the system. without remedy the recall might put human on risk as indicated in recalls.

Suddenly loss break pressure, with no warning and no indicator lights. Break fluid was suddenly empty and having it checked earlier in the day and it was fine. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, I SUDDENLY HAD NO BREAKS, I was just about to get onto the freeway.

The brake lights stay on permanently, even when the pedal is not pressed, and even when the car is turned off. This is clearly the same problem that Ford recalled these Fusions for in other states.

I was parked with my vehicle off. When I turned on my vehicle and put it in reverse to back out of my parking spot I heard a small pop and the brake pedal had a lot more "give" to it. I was able to push it all the way to the floor.

Back on 2/24/2019 I was behind a vehicle that had to slam in their brakes. I immediately slammed on my brakes and the peadle went to the floor. I took my car to planet ford and was told that my right front brake hose had a weak spot in the line and busted.

Driving down ctty street when the car breaks, when applied, would not depress and car would not stop adequately. Break pedal very firm to touch.. It would take every ounce of strength applied just to get the car to stop and in most cases, further down road or into intersection than expected.

While the car was sitting in the driveway I noticed the brake lights were on. Upon inspection, the silcone rubber pad that cushions the brake pedal from the brake light switch had become brittle and broke apart. The brake light switch now does not depress far enough to actuate the brake lights and they are stuck in the on position.

Under normal driving conditions on a sunday evening I began to notice a decrease in brake pressure and feel. At a traffic light I then noticed the brake pedal would begin to depress toward the floor without an increase in force to depress the pedal. The vehicle later that evening reported low brake fluid.

I was driving on my street and my brakes went completely out. Could not stop at all. There was no indication from system that I was having brake issues.

Brakes "automatically" apply with no warning or reason. Manufacturer issued "ssm 45775" but will not tell me when.
