ON10/4/2020, TRAVELING FORWARD ON A NEARBY COUNTY ROAD AT APPROX 40 MPH, THE ABS WARNING AND ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM FAILURE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND THERE WAS NO POWER BRAKES. AFTER BECOMING VERY EXCITED AND BELIEVING THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL INCHES FURTHER THAN NORMAL AND FELT RESISTANCE. WITH ENOUGH PRESSURE I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP BUT NOT AN EASY TASK. IF THIS HAD BEEN A SITUATION IN WHICH I NEEDED TO STOP QUICKLY, I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MANAGED. CONTACTED A FAMILY MEMBER AND I FOLLOWED THEM SLOWLY TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THE FORD DEALER CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND STATED THAT IT WAS AN ABS MODULE FAILURE AND THAT THIS PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER 2020. IN DOING RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT RECALL # 19S54 HAD BEEN ISSUED. AND ASK THE DEALER ABOUT IT. THEY STATED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AS THE TIME RANGE IS FROM FEB 22, 2006 UNTIL JULY 15TH, 2009 FOR FUSIONS BUILT AT THE HERMOSILLO MEXICO PLANT. MY FUSION WAS BUILT ON AUGUST 1ST, 2009 OR 2 WEEKS LATER AT THE SAME PLANT. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT MY PART # DID NOT MATCH EXACTLY TO THE FORD RECALL PART # LISTED BUT IS STILL PART OF THE ABS MODULE. (A FEW #S OFF - I.E. 2C215 VS. 2C219) THIS ALL SEEMS ODD THAT IN READING THE OTHER INCIDENTS, MY FUSION HAD IDENTICAL ISSUES BUT BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT 2 WEEKS LATER AT THE SAME PLANT IN MEXICO AND THE PART # IS A FEW DIGITS OFF BUT PART OF THE SAME MODULE, MY FUSION'S INCIDENT IS SOMEHOW DIFFERENT. I QUESTION THE VALIDITY OF THE TEST AND CODES. ALSO WHAT IS A PERSON SUPPOSE TO DO WHEN NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AT BEST, 30 DAYS. I GUESS I'LL SEE IN 30 DAYS.
THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT AGAIN AFTER I HAD IT REPLACED LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO. THANKFULLY IT WENT OUT ON START UP AND NOT WHILE DRIVING OR I MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN DANGER.
CAR IS A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID 93KMILE. ON NOVEMBER 14, 2019 AT 7AM, CAR WAS APPROACHING TO A TRAFFIC INTERSECTION. CAR DID NOT STOP WHEN APPLY BREAK HIT ON THE BACK OF VAN STANDING ON THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. USED THE HAND BREAK TO SLOW DOWN AND SINCE THE SPEED WAS LOW WHEN HIT THE FRONT VAN. NO MAJOR DAMAGE OCCUR EXCEPT SCRATCH AND ESCAPED FROM ACCIDENT. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN EAST WIDSOR, NJ (HALMAN FORD). AFTER DIAGNOSIS THE RESULT SHOWS THE ABS BREAK CONTROL UNIT IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. IT COST $1588+ TAX. CALLED FORD. THEY TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE ANY PROGRAM FOR THIS ISSUE AND DON'T PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR REPAIR.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITHOUT WARNING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THIS DECREASED ITS MOBILITY PLACING ITS OCCUPANTS AT A HIGH RISK.
MY WIFE DROVE TO GET MY TIRES CHANGED AND WHEN SHE GOT TO THE WALMART AUTO CENTER TO CHANGE THE TIRES THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY SHE HAD MADE IT TO THE AUTO CENTER AND WASN'T INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT IN THE PARKING LOT, HOWEVER SHE WAS IN MOTION. MY WIFE IS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT AND ITS TERRIFYING TO KNOW THAT SHE COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED TO A MOVING ACCIDENT WITH A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL OF THE 2011-2013 FORD FUSIONS. AS MANY OTHERS HAVE STATED, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT DUE TO THE FAULT THAT IS INHERENT WITH THE EPAS SYSTEM OF THE FORD FUSION. AS SUCH I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER TO FIGURE OUT A REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $1600 FOR THE REPAIR THAT I DON'T HAVE AT THE MOMENT. I WILL HAVE TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED AS I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER OPTION. ONCE AGAIN THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM, I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED IN THE FAVOUR OF THE CUSTOMER.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOST ELECTRIC STEERING CONTROL AND TWO CODES APPEARED ON THE DASH - SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING AT 65ISH WHILE COMPLETING A SLOPING TURN ON THE CAPITAL BELTWAY, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND REQUIRED EXTENSIVE ARM FORCE TO REMAIN IN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY MOVED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE.
POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND NOW THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING IS COMING ON AND WE CANT RESET IT. WE WERE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED, AND NOW HAVE NO POWER STEERING.
SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM 2010 FORD FUSION SE 6SPD MANUAL, COMPLETELY LOSES POWER AT RANDOM TIMES, HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES IN 5 DAYS. WILL BE DRIVING ALONG AT 40 TO 45 MPH STRAIGHT OR TURNING AT 5 TO 10 MPH OR EVEN GOING UP A STRAIGHT, SLIGHT INCLINE AND THE VEHICLE JUST LOSES POWER COMPLETELY, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP AND THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS. I TURN CAR OFF, YES IN THE MIDST OF TRAFFIC WITH OTHER DRIVERS HONKING HORNS AND PRAYING NO ONE RUNS INTO ME, WAIT 5 SECONDS AND THEN TRY TO START THE VEHICLE, WHICH IT DOES RESTART, HOWEVER THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC ERROR MESSAGE REMAINS. WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS THE ERROR MESSAGE WILL NOT APPEAR. IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY, WHICH BY THE WAY IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WORKING TWO JOBS MAKING THE TIME TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP IS DIFFICULT, HOWEVER I WILL BE TAKING IT TODAY (3/14/16). LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH IS NOT A SAFE SITUATION FOR ANY DRIVER ON THE ROAD. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED WHEN THIS OCCURS. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION QUICKLY.
I HAVE REPLACED MULTIPLE DEFECTS ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION. NOW, ON THE WAY TO TAKING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL..MY POWER STEERING COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN! I'VE READ THAT THERE ARE OVER 400,000 COMPLAINTS AND A PENDING LAWSUIT ON THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY CAR! I'VE FILED A LAWSUIT TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I'VE SPOKEN WITH THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHO STATED THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A FORD!
I STARTED MY CAR THEN SUDDENLY THE LARAM APPEAR AS (SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC) HOWEVER I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY CHANGE IN MY CAR , I HAD MY STEERING WORKING AND MY BRAKES FINE , AFTER THAT I WENT FEW MILES THAN TURNED OFF THE CAR , AFTER THAT THE ALARM DISAPPEARED , AFTER A WHILE IT APPEARED AGAIN AND I CONTINUE MY TRIP THEN PARKED THE CAR AND AFTER 1:30 HOURS I TURNED ON AND THE ALARM DISAPPEARED AND NEVER APPEARED AGAIN TILL NOW WHICH MEANS AFTER A DAY. *TR
