I’ve been to several Fords for the Transmission control module TCM, the engine lagging or stalling all lights on my car going on now my whole right side of my car doesn’t work after telling Ford about these problems. They denied to fix my car even though there was a customer care warranty through Ford
Yesterday my air conditioner was working fine and today it only blows out hot air I truly believe somebody's tampering with my air conditioner as they were with my 2010 Ford focus also. So my question to you is what do I do and what can I do about the car a/c I truly believe someone's tampering with my cars the air conditioner from a computer program somewhere in yamhill county Oregon.
BCM failure due to corrosion. Windscreen wash pump faulty. Fluid leaks into electrical components, travels through wiring, and into the BCM (body control module)
1) each and every time I pop it fuel into my car, even if I'm just topping it off, when I start it it like starts to bog down like it's clogged or something, then just like that clears up. 2) while car is off, and no keys in ignition at all, my cars dashboard makes this almost clicking sound and I notice the fuel tank and gauge both shot b up to the top then drop back downs, it's strange, 3) sometimes when accelerating from hear the car almost stalks... That's v the only way I'd be by able to describe it

While driving on interstate ,my car suddenly started hesitating and failed to pick up speed. The engine light came on. I pulled over, but did not turn car off fearing it would not restart, to look at owners manual. The problem continued as I drove home. I have driven it once for a short distance since and there was no change. This could cause an accident since it happened unexpectedly while driving at high speed. Brake light fault warning light is illuminated although light appears to be working. This could cause rear end collision if not operating. Luggage compartment opens while driving which causes visibility issue and chance of items stored there to blow out and cause accident. I can not tell if this issue is included in recall addressing locks and latches. Driver side window no longer operates, preventing escape if needed
My vehicle is under a cyber attack! I went to Ford dealership to have my horn fixed and explained the same thing I am about to tell you. They check and stated that there were some issue with the Sync system but all is well. If I further issues to see them again. Well, I have the same issues. My horn is not working when I know I just had it fixed! I was driving when suddenly my vehicle engine felt as though it was going to be disabled. The check tire pressure comes on and I have fairly new tires on my vehicle not to mention I had them checked prior the circuit board tells me. Folks know about the lighting of the vehicle that transmit looking for a signal when you open the trunk or open the doors. There was nothing wrong with this care when purchased used. I also believe due to the bluetooth signal, folks can hear my conversation and I DON'T HAVE A PHONE OPERATING WITH THE VEHICLE. When using phones in the car though, it automatically somehow enable the bluetooth on when I have it set to off. Another vehicle can ride behind me with his lights blurred onto my vehicle and go to the app of his phone and disable something in my car. Once my radio was changed and i did nothing to it. Sometimes it is set to a different radio genre station that I don't listen to. A truck road behind me and literally cut my radio on and could not turn it off until I pulled over and shut the car off! I have reported this to the police but folks think I am out of my mind. My life has been a living hell because I work for the state and folks there are doing the same thing to my car as a stranger would do when driving behind me. Also the car can pick up bank information if you are using the drive thru. They can track your account. I believe folks at work and neighbors of mind are using an app to do so. Because the car can connect to a garage , it can pick up a signal that can transfer to another vehicle if they have their car on. Again, the lights are the signal transmitter picking up information
The problem is with the transmission and dual clutch and electrical. My car shakes when still, doesn't want to go when I put on the gas, doesn't want to change gears. The electrical keeps going on and off and the fan goes on and stays on after I shut car off and get out and stays on. I took it to schicker ford on south kingshighway to get programmed and I got my car back it was worse.
Causing vehicle to shutter or jerk making the driver lose control for a minute or two when driving. Happens only, when accelerating at from a stop or turn.
PCM failed dealership didn't replace the recall but cleared it
The horn has never worked for me since I had the car. I’ve had so many close calls where people almost backed into me and there is nothing I can do but pray! And also the stereo system I’ve had to go in and disconnect due to the fact that I’d come outside with my car off haven’t even started it that day yet the speakers would be blaring a horrible cracking and popping sounds also happens randomly while driving it’s very scary

The power steering has gone out again. We replace the rack and pinion with a brand new one and it still went out again. There are many complaints in regards to the power steering going out, including a death due to this car. There have been recalls for other Ford’s that were forced to be recalled because Ford continued to ignore the issue. Even with those recalls, my focus is not included and it a huge safety issue and decreases the drivability.
I had regular service done on my vehicle 5/27/2022 to which the battery needed to be replaced. That was done without issue however 3 days later as I was on my way to work the check engine light came on and my engine began revving then stalling/losing power as well as shuddering. This was especially concerning as I was on the highway traveling at 70 MPH when suddenly I lost engine power and my vehicle began lurching. I was close enough to home that I was able to turn back and drive very slowly as it was apparent there was an issue in the gears turning over when accelerating. I could not get my vehicle in for service as the dealership could only schedule me later the following week to get it diagnosed. I was able to drive it, again very, very slowly - to the dealership. I was told it was the TCM; 14MO2 Extended Coverage Warranty. The dealership assured me this would be covered yet now continues to tell me that this is not being accepted and that I have to pay out of pocket for this repair. I'm unsure of what to do at this point as my daily commuter has been at the dealership since June 9th 2022.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated while the vehicle was charging, the cooling system continued to stay on and failed to decrease the battery temperature. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated when attempting to charge the vehicle while the temporary was high, the "house message" would say it's hot outside plug in your vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the air conditioning compressor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience a failure. The vehicle was taken back to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the battery coolant pump and filter to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience a failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for the third time, where it was diagnosed with needing the refrigerant to be refilled testing was completed. The contact was informed after that testing the battery chiller block and the refrigerant line was needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience failure. The vehicle was taken back to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the coolant filter to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience failure. The contact stated he began to monitor the failure and noticed the coolant was not functioning. The contact noticed the battery coolant diverter valve was the cause of the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Transmission has spontaneously went from overheating to not while driving, gears are slipping have speed and when it goes to shift all power lost, then it kicks back in. It was coded with transmission control module failure. The module and both actuators have been replaced now car will not relearn shifting patterns. Spontaneous overheating transmission messages just when car is turned on. Transmission control module has been programmed by dealership but all problems continue to exsist.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus BEV. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed that an unknown warning light was illuminated and remained illuminated for several days. The failure recurred several times. On one occasion, the contact was unable to start the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed failure with an electrical wiring harness kit and that the battery was drained. The dealer was able to replace the wiring harness however, the battery was not replaced due to the cost of a new battery. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Backup camera works intermittently. More often than not it does not work at all. Sometimes it works for a few seconds and then stops working. A message appears on the screen to take the car in to the dealer. But the warning beep sound still works.
Our Ford Focus BEV had a recall in 2014 (Ford# 15N03) It is a high voltage wire harness issue. The car will completely cut power to the drivetrain and shut down leaving a message on the dash saying "Stop Safely Now". We took it in for the fix in 2014 however the issue still continued after about a year and continues still. My wife just had this happen to her with the kids in the car. This issue puts the driver and passengers in very serious danger when the car just stops responding while moving in traffic. Ford said they would not recall the issue since the issue was "fixed" and that wire harness was only good for a 1 year warranty which expired in 2015. I am hoping Ford will do the right thing and fix this issue for good. Thanks for your help in this matter. -Dave
I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE that has a severe audio issue which impacts my ability to safely operate the vehicle. I understand radio issues are not technically defined as a safety-related defect. However this issue is so impairing and physically harming to me, I fear for my life and others while driving this car. The issue is a faulty car stereo electronics which create high-decibel thumping, popping, static, and more at random intervals and lengths while the audio system is on or off, with the volume turned all the way down either way. It is like a never-ending audio jump scare. Nothing is plugged into the car like a phone charger or speaker. I have found hundreds of people online with this same issue with their 2012 Ford Focus. In order to safely operate their Focus, many reported completely disconnecting the audio system or replacing their entire car radio/audio transmitter for $800+. This issue has been escalating every drive, short or long distances. On my 40 min commute this morning, with my audio completely off, I was approaching a roundabout to enter when a HUGE audio thump and pop occurred and almost ran into a car in the roundabout. Thankfully they saw me and we avoided a crash. I am terrified of this happening again. I cannot commute to my job without extreme stress and crying. I do not have hundreds of dollars to replace my audio system. This is extremely dangerous. I was able to find a solution to the exact issue on focusfanatics.com, a Ford Focus forum. An electric technician with 40+ years of experience took a look at his son's Ford Focus 2012 PCB and realized the capacitors/electrolytic caps were made of aluminum which is apparently, "notorious for going bad in the electronic repair world." He replaced these and the son has not had an issue since. Another person on the forum reported this electrician's solution worked for them as well. All 2012 Ford Focuses should have this issue repaired in order to have a safe operating vehicle.
AS I GO DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHOWS A "STOP SAFELY NOW" MESSAGE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND LOSSES ALL POWER, THE POWER TRAIN GOES DEATH. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION SPECIALLY WHEN YOURE TRAVELING ON A PRETTY LOADED HIGHWAY AT 78MPH. THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT STEERING WHEEL IS STILL ALIVE AND BRAKES TOO. I HAD 90% OF BATTERY LIFE AND IT WAS A HOT DAY OUT THERE AT 94F DEGREES. I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BUT I HAVE THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED IN MY CELL PHONE.
WHENEVER IT RAINS AND I'M USING MY WIPERS THEY WILL JUST SHUT OFF RANDOMLY OR THEY DO A VERY INCONVENIENT DELAY AT THE WORST OF TIMES ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S RAINING HARD. IT'S DANGEROUS AND YOU CAN'T SEE. ODDLY ENOUGH MY HORN DON'T WORK EITHER. I GOT THE CAR JANUARY 1ST,2020 OF COURSE IT WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED I GOT IT FROM A USED CAR DEALER THE HORN WORKED UNTIL I THINK MARCH, 2020. I HIT A BUMP AND IT'S LIKE IT JUST QUIT AFTER THAT THEN A COUPLE WEEK LATER I GOT A BUMP AGAIN AND IT STARTED WORKIN FOR A LITTLE BIT. THEN A COUPLE DAYS WENT BY AND IT JUST STOPPED NEVER TO WORK AGAIN. CHECKED ALL THE FUSES THEY ALL LOOKED GOOD NONE LOOKED BLOWN. IT'S SCARY BECAUSE SO MANY TIMES PEOPLE WILL EITHER PULL OUT IN FRONT OF ME LIKE THEY DON'T SEE ME OR ALMOST HIT ME AND I HAVE NO WAY TO ALERT THEM THAT THEY ALMOST HIM ME AND NEED TO PAY ATTENTION. THEN THERE'S THE WHOLE HAVING TO TAKE OFF SLOWLY IF NOT AND YOU TAKE OFF FAST IT THE CAR WILL JERK AND STALL AND IT DOES IT REALLY WHEN SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING AND NOW THE RPM DROP SO LOW WHEN IDLING IT ALMOST DIES. I JUST REPLACE THE MOTOR A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND IT WAS DOING THIS BEFORE THE NE MOTOR GOT OUT IN JUST NOT AS BAD. AND IT'S LIKE YOU CAN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND PUSH IT BUT THE CAR. AREN'T BEG JL AND GOES... IT'S SCARY TO ME AND I USUALLY ALWAYS HAVE MY KID WITH ME. IT FREAKS ME OUT BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES IT STALL OR WHATEVER IT'S DOING I HAVE NO HORN TO LET PEOPLE KNOW TO GO AROUND I KNOW A GIRL I WORK WITH HER DAUGHTER HAS THE SAME CAR AS ME AND STALKING HAS GOTTA. *TR

MAJOR ELECTRONIC COMPONENT ISSUE. DEALING WITH THE FORD STEREO SYSTEM. HAD THE CAR FOR ROUGHLY 3 YEARS NOW, AND ABOUT A YEAR AGO, I COULD BE LISTENING TO MUSIC, OR HAVING THE RADIO TURNED OFF. AND AT RANDOM TIMES, IF I WAS LISTENING TO MUSIC, THE MUSIC WOULD CUT OFF AND THEN ALL I HEAR IS A BUNCH OF POPPING AND CRACKLING COMING FROM THE SPEAKERS. THIS HAPPENS EVEN WHEN I HAVE THE RADIO OFF! IT HAS RECENTLY GOTTEN SO BAD, THAT I WAS SO CLOSE TO GET INTO A ACCIDENT WHEN THE RADIO DECIDED TO TERRORIZE ME WITH THE OBNOXIOUS CRACKLING AND POPPING, I ENDED UP JERKING THE WHEEL BECAUSE IT SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME. IT RECENTLY HAS BEEN DOING IT NON STOP, AND NOW IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT IT WILL BE DOING THIS, WHEN THE KEY IS NOT EVEN IN THE IGNITION. I ENDED UP PULLING THE FUSE FOR THE RADIO BECAUSE IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON A RADIO SHOULD CUT OUT, AND START POPPING AND CRACKLING AT THE LOUDEST VOLUME POSSIBLE. IT HAPPENS EVEN WITH THE RADIO OFF. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A FEW ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS RADIO/ELECTRICAL IUSSE. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH. AND IT IS A VERY VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THIS RADIO, CAR, OR ELECTRICAL THAT IS CAUSING THIS NEEDS TO BE REMEDIED, RECALLED, FIXED. IT IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE. WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST STARTED, I HAD ROUGHLY 78,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I AM NOW AT 100,200 AND IT IS GOTTEN SO BAD. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED,FIXED,REMEDIED. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FORD RADIO SYSTEMS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND MY CAR SLIDE ACROSS A HIGHWAY, HIT A MEDIAN, AND CAME TO A STOP HITTING A TREE HEAD ON. IT DEMOLISHED THE DRIVERS SIDE AND NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I UNHOOKED MY SEAT BELT AND MERELY LEANED AGAINST THE DOOR. TO MY SURPRISE, IT OPENED BY ITSELF AND I FELL OUT. CONSEQUENTLY I WAS LAYING IN THE SNOW AND MUD FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE A GOOD SAMARITAN PULLED ME OUT OF THE MUD. I SUBMITTED MY CAR TO A FORD DEALER/BODYSHOP TO CORRECT ANY RECALLS LAST YEAR, AND I HAVE PROOF THAT THIS WASN'T DONE PROPERLY. NOW I HAVE I HURT DISK IN MY BACK AS WELL AS LITTLE MOBILITY IN MY LEFT LEG.*DT*JB
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE OCTOBER 14,2020 FROM DAY ONE EVERY TIME, I PUT GAS IN IT, IT STALLED TO CRANK AND YOU COULD SMELL A ROTTEN EGG SMELL. I WOULD HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT AND PRESS THE GAS NUMEROUS OF TIMES BEFORE THE CAR STARTED. MY DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR CAME FLYING OPEN THE SAME DAY AND WOULD NOT LATCH BACK TO CLOSE. HERE IT IS NOVEMBER 28, 2020 MY CAR STARTS SMOKING REALLY BAD AND NOW WON'T EVEN CRANK UP TO DRIVE. I PAID 4,056 CASH FOR A CAR I CAN'T EVEN ENJOY.
BACK UP CAMERA MALFUNCTION. WILL WORK EVERY NOW AND THEN. WILL FLASH WITH BLACK SCREEN AND GREEN LINE. AT TIMES THE PICTURE WILL BE UPSIDE DOWN. AT TIMES IT WON'T WORK AT ALL. CAR SENSORS WILL GO OFF WITH RAIN AND OR SNOW. THE MEDIA SCREEN AT TIMES WILL NOT SHOW DATA IE RADIO STATIONS, BLUE TOOTH CONNECTION. ALL THE ABOVE OCCURS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION.
I BEGAN TO NOTICE MY VEHICLE HAVING LIGHTING ISSUES, INCLUDING DIMMER INSIDE DOME LIGHTS, FLICKERING LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS, AND IT WAS POINTED OUT TO ME THAT MY BACK UP LIGHTS WEREN'T FUNCTIONAL AT ALL. I WAS PARKED PARALLEL WITH OTHER VEHICLES IN A PARKING LOT. THEN AFTER STARTING MY VEHICLE, I SHIFTED MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE GOING ONLY ABOUT 2 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO BEEP, ALONG WITH A WARNING THAT MY LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR WAS OPEN. IN THE SITUATION, THE BEEPING WAS VERY DISTRACTING AND COULD HAVE INCREASED THE RISK OF CRASHING. I IMMEDIATELY RE-PARKED MY VEHICLE SO THAT I COULD INVESTIGATE. I OPENED , THEN FIRMLY CLOSED ALL 4 OF MY DOORS, THEN TIRED TO OPEN THE TRUNK , ONLY TO FIND THAT MY TRUNK WOULDN'T OPEN. THE BEEPING PERSISTED UNTIL I PRESSED THE OK BUTTON ON MY STEERING WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE HOME SAFELY, ALTHOUGH THE WARNING REMAINED ON MY DISPLAY THE ENTIRE DRIVE HOME. MY TRUNK WOULDN'T OPEN WHEN PRESSING ON THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON ON MY SMART-KEY EITHER. I DROVE THE VEHICLE IN THAT CONDITION FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO LOCATED THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. AFTER DOING AMPLE RESEARCH ON OTHER 2012 FORD FOCUS DRIVERS THAT COMPLAINED OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS. SO I ACCESSED MY TRUNK BY FOLDING MY BACK SEATS DOWN, THEN PULLING THE EMERGENCY TRUNK RELEASE LEVER. I THEN LOCATED THE FAULTY WIRES THAT WERE CAUSING ALL OF MY SYMPTOMS. I HAD THE WIRES REPAIRED BY A PROFESSIONAL. THAT SOLUTION WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS BEFORE REOCCURRING.
MY CAR IS SHUTTING OFF WHEN I STOP THE CAR
WIRES IN THE TRUNK COMPLETELY BROKEN. SYMPTOMS: TRUNK WON'T UNLATCH, RENDERS THE TRUNK USELESS. MY LICENSE PLATE LIGHT FLICKERS. ALSO, I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN OFF MY PARKING LIGHTS. THEY SHOULD TURN OFF ONCE LOCKING MY DOORS WITH MY KEY FOB, BUT THEY REMAIN ON, SO I TURN THEM OFF MANUALLY OTHERWISE THEY'LL STAY ON THIS DRAINING MY BATTERY. EACH TIME I TURN ON THE CAR, AS SOON AS I SHIFT INTO DRIVE/REVERSE, THE CAR BEGINS TO BEEP AT ME AND THE DASH LIGHTS UP SAYING 'LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID OPEN' WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TURN THE ENGINE ON AFTER SHIFTING INTO GEAR. AFTER RESEARCHING MY PROBLEM, I'VE FOUND THAT MANY OTHER DRIVERS WITH SIMILAR YEARS OF FORD FOCUS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. AFTER I FIXED THE WIRES MYSELF, ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS WENT AWAY. I'M SURPRISED HOW MANY ISSUES THOSE BROKEN WIRES HAVE CAUSED.
SPEAKERS HAVE A STATIC POPPING NOISE AND THEN THE COMPUTER STOPPED WORKING, IT WENT EVEN TURN ON....
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR WILL SHUDDER. HAVE HAD TIMES WHERE THE CAR HAD TROUBLE PULLING THROUGH A NOT SO STEEP DRIVEWAY. HAVE DRIVEN IT ON STREETS AND HIGHWAYS (NOT VERY LONG). SOMETIMES IT IS ON FOR A FEW DAYS THEN THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND DRIVE ALRIGHT. WAS TOLD THE TCM (TOTAL CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED). HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WHICH I NEEDED TO COMPLETELY REPLACE AS IT WAS FALLING APART.
WE HAVE A 2012 FOCUS. FROM DAY 1, WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BATTERY GOING DEAD, WITHIN JUST A DAY. WE HAVE HAD IT IN NUMEROUS DEALERSHIPS, WITH NO RESOLVE OF THE PROBLEM. AFTER HAVING HAD ENOUGH, WE TOOK IT TO A SPECIALIST WHO HOOKED IT UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. THE PROBLEM WAS THE STEREO SYSTEM DRAINING THE BATTERY. BUT WE FELT IT WASN'T OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW STEREO, SO WE JUST HAD IT DISCONNECTED. FIXED THE PROBLEM. BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF. VEHICLE MAKES EXTREMELY LOUD STATIC SOUNDS, CRACKING, POPPING. RADIO CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST CRASHED FROM THE ERRATIC AND SUDDEN NOISE. RADIO DOES NOT WORK AS OF NOW, MILEAGE IS 80,000 APPROX. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN OVERHEATING WITHOUT ANY UNUSUAL ACCELERATION. IF DRIVING OVER 25 MPH THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE RADIO COMES ON WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT AND TRANSMISSION LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WITHOUT WARNING.

TODAY IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS OFF AIR BUT MADE A WHISTLING NOISE LIKE I WAS IN A TUNNEL. IT'S SCARY NOT KNOWING IF IT'S GONNA START A FIRE IN MY CAR. I NEVER SMELL ANYTHING LIKE MELTING WIRES. IVE HAD IT LOOKED AT AND MY MECHANIC CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM. THE FUSES ARE GOOD AND HAVE BEEN CHANGED. THIS PROBLEMS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, WHEN IT'S PARKED IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER. I DIDN'T FILE A COMPLAINT EARLIER BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE RADIO WAS GOING OUT, WHEN I LOOKED ON THE FORD SITE I SEE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2012 FORD FOCUS.
THE RADIO ON THE STOCK FOCUS IS DANGEROUS. THE RANDOM STATIC AND LOUD NOISES COMING FROM THE RADIO IS A SAFETY HAZARD IT CAN SOUND LIKE AN EXPLOSION. I GOT ANXIETY SO BAD I HAD TO REMOVE MY STOCK RADIO HARNESS FROM THE BACK OF THE RADIO.
THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND UNABLE TO RESTART. HAD IT TOWED TO AUTONATION IN TUSTIN AND ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT BECAUSE PART OF THE POWER MODULE IS BROKEN. THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY IT HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH. REPROGRAMMING THE POWER MODULE IS PART OF THE RECALL. WE HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 3 WEEKS NOW, AS THIS HAPPENED ON 11/22. IT STOPPED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE.
JUST A WEEK AFTER BUYING MY CAR, THE STEREO STARTED TO MAKE A VERY LOUD SCRATCHING AND POPPING NOISE AND THEN IT WOULD CUT OFF AND NO SOUND WOULD WORK. THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS ARE SUBJECT TO A "BRAKE LAMP BULB FAULT" DUE TO THE SHODDY WIRING AND WIRING HARNESS THAT AFFIXES THE WIRES TO THE TRUNK LID. AFTER MANY OPEN AND CLOSE ITERATIONS OF THE TRUNK LID, WIRES BECOME BRITTLE AND FRAY, AND EVENTUALLY FAULT. THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD THROUGHOUT THE FORUMS WITH MANY INDIVIDUALS RESORTING TO CUTTING THE CABLES AND RESOLDERING OR REATTACHING THEM WITH REDUCED WIRE TENSION. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND CAN CAUSE POTENTIAL REAR END ACCIDENTS WHEN THE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHTS FAIL TO ILLUMINATE. THE FAULT APPEARS AS SOON AS THE CAR TURNS ON, AND CAN SPORADICALLY GO AWAY WHEN DRIVING. AS SPORADICALLY AS IT DISAPPEARS, IT REAPPEARS AND REMAINS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A DESIGN FLAW WITH WIRING NOT SHIELDED IN ANY WAY AND SIMPLY WRAPPED IN TAPE.

COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

ALTHOUGH NOT AS CONSISTENT, THE NOISE SEEMS TO INTERMITTENTLY COME EVEN IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY NOT IN THE IGNITION. AS STATED, THIS NOISE IS VERY LOUD AND STARTLING. IT STARTLED ME ENOUGH THAT I ACCIDENTALLY JERKED THE WHEEL OUT OF REFLEX WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY. MUSIC IS A LUXURY, BUT HAVING THE CRAP SCARED OUT OF YOU BY YOUR OWN CAR WHILE DRIVING IS A GIANT SAFETY ISSUE!!

MY FIRST THOUGHT WHEN LOOKING AT THE NEW CORD WAS THAT THE ELECTRICAL CORD (19' LONG PART) LOOKED UNUSUALLY THIN. WITH THE NEW CORD, THE APPROX 19' PART OF THE CORD GETS WARM, ALL 19 FEET! THEY OBVIOUSLY USED TOO SMALL OF A WIRE GAUGE IN THE NEW CORD, AND THIS IN ITSELF IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION. I SPECIALIZE IN SELLING ELECTRIC CARS, AND I'M ALWAYS CHARGING VARIOUS MAKES AND MODELS IN MY GARAGE ON A 15AMP/110V DEDICATED CIRCUIT, AND HAVE NO ISSUES WITH OTHER CHARGING CORDS.

A LOUD ABRUPT THUMP(S) AND/OR HIGH PITCHED SCREECHING SOUNDS COME FROM THE SOUND SYSTEM SPEAKERS. THIS OCCURS WITH THE RADIO IN THE "ON" OR "OFF" POSITION AND MAY LAST A FEW SECONDS UP TO MINUTES. THE SOUND IS VERY LOUD AND UNCONTROLLABLE. THE RADIO IS UNRESPONSIVE DURING AND AFTER THE NOISE (USUALLY REQUIRING AN ENGINE RESTART). THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE LEVEL AND SUDDENESS CAUSES AN IMMEDIATE DEFENSIVE POSTURE JUST AS IF I HAD BEEN STRUCK FROM OUT OF NOWHERE. NOT ONLY THAT, IT IS ABUSIVE. IT REALLY RATTLES THE NERVES. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP AGAIN...TRANSMISSION COMPUTER/MODULE REPLACED. 12/2018 CAR STALLED YET AGAIN AND STEERING WOULD NOT WORK NOR WOULD SHIFTER...TRANSMISSION GARAGE STATED THEY FIXED ISSUE. 8 HOURS LATER, THE CAR WOULD NOT RUN AT ALL. TRANSMISSION PLACE REFUSED TO TOUCH THE CAR AGAIN. CALLED ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP AND OFCOURSE, THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. AND EXPECT US TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN THIS TIME! PLUS THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE CAR UNTIL MOST RECENT RECALL IS FIXED ON IT. LIKE HELL WILL I PUT MY 2 CHILDREN AND HUSBAND BACK IN THIS CAR WITH THE CHANCE OF IT TO STALL AGAIN AND CRASH. THEN WHEN I STARTED TO START MY CAR I HAND TO TURN THE KEY TWICE TO GET THE MOTOR STARTED AND THEN AFTER I TOOK MY HAND OFF THE KEY IT KEPT ON CRANKING AS IF TRYING TO START ALTHOUGH IT WAS ALREADY RUNNING. I DROVE IT TO LEXINGTON AND COULD FEEL IT REVVING THE MOTOR UP WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING. I TURNED AROUND AND DROVE BACK TO FRANKFORT AND TOOK IT TO BIG O'S. THEY PUT A HANDHELD TESTER ON IT AND SAID IT WAS EITHER THE OXYGEN SENSOR OR CONVERTER FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT THAT WAS ON. I INFORMED THEM THAT I HAD REPLACED THE O2 SENSOR JUST 3 WEEKS AGO. HE TEST DROVE IT AND SAID IT REVVED UP ON HIM ALSO WHICH HE SAID SOMETHING WAS GOING WRONG IN THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I LEFT FROM THERE THE LIGHTS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, AND THE GAS HAND WAS STILL PAST THE FULL MARK. ON 9/7/2018 ALTHOUGH IT SAID THE TANK WAS FULL MY FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. IT ALSO QUIT ON ME ON 9/7/2018 GOING DOWN A HILL AND I HAD TO PULL OVER FOR A WHILE BEFORE IT WOULD START BACK UP SO I COULD GET HOME. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TCM VALVE WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE CLUTCHES IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE.
RAN OUT OF FUEL IN THIS VEHICLE, ONCE WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, EVEN THOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD SAY THERE WAS BETWEEN 75-100 MILES BEFORE EMPTY. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE HAD A STRONG SMELL OF GAS. I THEN PROCEEDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER DIAGNOSIS THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID SOME VALVE REMAINED OPEN CAUSING THE GAS TANK TO CRACK AND IN TURN GAS FLOWED BACK INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE COST TO FIX WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $3100. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE FOR QUITE SOME TIME, BUT FORD REFUSES TO RECALL OR EVEN PAY FOR THE WORK. I EVEN HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY WOULDN'T COVER IT EITHER.

FIRST PROBLEM IS WITH THE RADIO. THIS BEGAN WHEN MY CAR HAD 37000 MILES AND THE RADIO WOULD MAKE A LOUD THUMPING SOUND. THE CAR WOULD SEEM TO SHAKE AND I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS THE RADIO UNTIL THE OTHER ISSUES BEGAN. A LOUD SCREECHING AND POPPING STARTED WHICH WOULD COME OUT OF NOWHERE. THIS CAN CAUSE A BIG DISTURBANCE SINCE YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING IT TO HAPPEN AND IT IS EXTREMELY LOUD. EVENTUALLY THE SOUND ALWAYS OCCURRED AND EVEN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF IT WOULD STILL CONTINUE - DOORS OPEN AND KEYS OUT OF IGNITION. IT FINALLY STOPPED AND THERE IS NO SOUND, BUT AFTER SIX MONTHS IT STARTED MAKING THE SOUND AGAIN, AND AGAIN OUT OF NOWHERE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING BECAUSE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND COMING FROM THE RADIO, OFF OR ON AND IT WILL SUDDENLY START TO SHRIEK OR POP. IT STOPPED AGAIN, BUT I AM WAITING FOR IT TO BEGIN AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE AND THEY HAVE NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE BEFORE. MY NEXT ISSUE IS WITH THE WIPER BLADES. THIS BEGAN RECENTLY AND I HAVE AROUND 45000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. AT FIRST THE WIPER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLEW OFF WHILE IN USE. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD POSSIBLY PUT TR HE WIPES ON INCORRECTLY EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN WORKING FINE FOR A MONTH OR SO. I HAD THE AUTO PARTS STORE PUT NEW BLADES ON AND AGAIN ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER IT FLEW OFF. LUCKILY I HADN'T DRIVEN OFF AND WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE THE WIPER AND PUT IT BACK ON THIS TIME. THREE MONTHS LATER THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER WILL JUST STOP WORKING MIDWAY THROUGH THE WINDOW. I CAN FLIP THE WIPERS ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES AND IT WILL WORK FOR A SECOND, BUT CONTINUES TO GET STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE PASSENGERS SIDE GETS STUCK AS WELL, BUT WILL FIX ITSELF.

RADIO DON'T WORK MAKE A LOUD SQUEEKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING WHEN OFF
TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH THIS CAR HAS STOPPED RUNNING, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON AND IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE MOST RECENT TIME, MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING BACK TO SCHOOL IN LUBBOCK, TX GOING 80 MPH WHEN IT SHUTDOWN. SHE TRIED TO PULL OVER BUT ALMOST WRECKED DUE TO THE FACT SHE HAD NO POWER BRAKES. I HAVE SEEN MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS DOCUMENTING THE SAME THING SHE HAD HAPPEN TO HER. WHEN SHE TOOK IT INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THEY OF COURSE COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE HER A LOANER OR RENTAL CAR DURING THE TIME IT TOOK THEM TO LOOK AT IT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE WITH FORD NOT HAVING A FIX. AT THIS POINT, IF I WASN'T UPSIDE DOWN ON THE CAR, I WOULD TRADE IT IN ON SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND IT WOULDN'T BE A FORD. I DIGRESS.
HORN HAS STOPPED WORKING. RADIO CRACKLING WHEN CAR ON AND OFF, IN MOTION AND WHEN STILL, DOES NOT WORK.
AT 48,000 MILES MY HORN STOPPED WORKING
AS I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-65MPH ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON WITHOUT ME TELLING THEM TO. THEY CYCLED THROUGH FAST, NORMAL, INTERMITTENT, OFF FOR 60-90 SECONDS PER CYCLE. AFTER THE SECOND CYCLE I DECIDED TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY AND FIND A PLACE TO PARK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I THEN HEAR A THUD AS I COME TO A LIGHT, 30 SECONDS LATER I SEE SMOKE. I PULL INTO THE PARKING LOT AND SEE LOTS OF SMOKE AND SOME FLAMES COMING FROM UNDER MY HOOD. I TURN OFF THE CAR AND THE WIPERS KEEP GOING. I GET OUT AND CALL 911 AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES MY CAR IS ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
STARTED WITH HORN AND TAIL LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORKING. THEN INTERMITTENTLY AS YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! EVERYTHING LOCKS UP AND YOU ATTEMPT TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ALL DASH LIGHTS WORK BUT CAR WON'T START. FOUND SAME COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET AND YOUTUBE BUT NO RECALL. TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE. THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE DID NOT ISSUE A CODE. I EXPLAINED IN DETAIL THE ISSUE AND ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION OF THE ISSUE. THE PAPER THEY GAVE ME SAID RUNS ROUGH WHEN AC IS ON. I SAID THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE. THEY SAID DON'T WORRY THE TICKET IS STILL OPEN IN THE SYSTEM. I ASKED IF THEY COULD PUT A READER ON THE CAR WHILE DRIVEN TO CATCH THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE AND THEY SAID NO. SO I AM IN SAME SITUATION AS OTHER OWNERS WHERE MY SAFETY AND OTHERS ARE AT STAKE EACH TIME THIS CAR SHUTS OFF. ALSO DEALER SAID THEY H HORN WITH A SCREWDRIVER TO MAKE IT WORK FOR NOW. SO NO HORN, TAIL LIGHT AND CAR SHUTTING OFF INTERMITTENTLY ARE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM AND FIX IT!
DRIVER WINDOW WAS SLOW TO GO UP AND DOWN THEN FINALLY QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP IN TALLASSEE ALABAMA. BEN ATKINSON FORD WHICH IS NOW TALLASSEE AUTO. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME $275. TO HAVE IT FIXED.
I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC BECAUSE OF IT HAS BEEN NOT STARTING/HESITATING TO START WHEN IN PARK. I ALSO TRIED SWITCHING TO NEUTRAL AND ATTEMPTED TO START AND GOT NOTHING. MY MECHANIC RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND ITS COMING UP WITH A SECURITY CODE ISSUE STATING MY KEY DOES NOT READ BUT WILL START SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER ATTEMPT. THIS HAS JUST RANDOMLY STARTED HAPPENING AND I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS IN FORD FORUMS STATING THE SAME SITUATION. ALL LIGHTS ON DASH AND RADIO COME ON BUT CAR HAS NO NOISE AND REFUSES TO START. I THOUGHT IT WAS MY BATTERY OR STARTER AND MY MECHANIC HAS CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NEITHER. I TRIED CONTACTING THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THIS CAR AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. THIS MAKE HAS HAD MORE ISSUES THAN I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP BECAUSE THIS IS RIDICULOUS. MY HUSBAND HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND HIS TRANSMISSION IS ALSO ON NATIONWIDE RECALL BACKORDER FOR THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD A WARNING FOR CONSUMERS THAT THIS WAS A TERRIBLE PRODUCTION YEAR.
WITH LESS THAN 21K MILES ON THE CAR AND THE ALTERNATOR, IT SEIZED UP, TORE THE PULLEY OFF, AND SHREDDED THE BELT AND LEFT MY CAR DEAD. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND HEARD A METALLIC GRINDING AND JINGLING SOUND. HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO EXIT WHEN I DID, I MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SAFELY NAVIGATE MY CAR TO A STOP. MY DAD WORKS IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY AND HE WAS TELLING ME THAT THEY TEST THE ALTERNATORS THAT HIS COMPANY MAKES TO LAST 150K MILES AND THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THE WAY THAT IT DID.

CAR WILL SPORADICALLY AND INTERMITTENTLY NOT TURN OVER WHEN KEY IS IN IGNITION. BATTERY IS NOT FAULTY. ALTERNATOR IS NOT FAULTY. WIRING IS NOT FAULTY. ALL HAVE BEEN TESTED. FROM WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR'S INTERNAL SOFTWARE (OR MORE SPECIFICALLY TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IS IN PARK THEREBY PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THIS SOMETIMES PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM BEING STARTED FROM ANYWHERE OF 30 SECONDS TO AT AN EXTREME INSTANCE NEARLY 45 MINUTES. OFTEN TIMES, THE ONLY WAY TO START THE CAR IN THESE INSTANCES IS TO KEEP THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE, MOVE THE SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL AND WAIT (FOR PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED TIMES) UNTIL THE DASHBOARD INDICATES THAT IT RECOGNIZES THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL. PURCHASED 2012 FORD FOCUS USED, 04-14-15. I TEST DROVE THE CAR IT JERKED A LITTLE. THE REP STATED IT WAS NORMAL. THE NEXT 4 MONTHS IT CONTINUED TO JERK, SKIP, HESITATE AND JUST NOT MOVE WHEN YOU ACCELERATED. IN 08-2015 I REC'D A LETTER FROM FORD, MY CAR NEEDED A TCM-SOFTWARE UPDATE. 09-09-15 I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IT TOOK AN HOUR TO RE-PROGRAM THE TCM. THE DEALERSHIP HANDED A PRINTED COPY OF THE TCM CHARACTERISTICS. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE SAME ISSUES HOPING IT WOULD GO AWAY. 10-19-15 WENT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE TCM RE-PROGRAMMED AGAIN. I CALLED FORD TO COMPLAIN 10-19-15 AND A CASE FILE WAS ISSUED #[XXX]. I DID NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP. 10-23-15 THE CAR WENT TO THE 2ND DEALERSHIP. DISCOVERED THE TCM HAD FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED., EXPLAINING TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR A NUMBER OF MILES TO CORRECT ITSELF. THE DRIVE HAD IMPROVED, BUT THEN STARTED FAILING AGAIN. 03-16-16 I WENT BACK TO THE 2ND DEALERSHIP, THE TCM WAS REPLACED. AGAIN THE DRIVE HAD SLIGHTLY IMPROVED AND HAD AGAIN FAILED. THIS TIME WHEN THE TCM FAILED, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE WIPERS CAME ON WITHOUT TURNING THEM ON,EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR WOULDN'T COME ON SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY. DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 300 MILES MADE A STOP AND IT WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED AND THE LOCAL MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. DRIVING BACK HOME ABOUT 150 MILES ON HIGHWAY ALL LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH, BATTERY, FUEL, TRANS, ETC.. WIPERS CAME ON, POWER STEERING WAS LOST AND ENGINE SHUT OFF. ROLLED TO SIDE OF ROAD. SAT 5 MIN, THEN STARTED AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED!? WE MADE IT HOME. CAR NOT STARTING. 12-06-16 TOWED TO FORD. TCM MODULE CRASHED THE COMPUTER OPERATING SYSTEM, REPLACED TCM AND RE-PROGRAMMED SYSTEM. 01-10-17 WIPERS STILL COME ON WITH ENGINE OFF. W/RETURN TO FORD 01-17-17. SINCE PURCHASING MY FOCUS IN NOVEMBER OF 2013, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE TRANSMISSION THAT HAVE CAUSED ME TO FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AS THEY HAVE RESULTED IN MULTIPLE NEAR-ACCIDENTS. I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT WITHIN THE FIRST SEVERAL MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP AND NOTHING WAS FOUND, I THEN TOOK THE CAR BACK IN WHEN SYMPTOMS PERSISTED AND GOT THE CLUTCH REPLACED WITHIN ROUGHLY A YEAR OF BUYING. THE SYMPTOMS SUBSIDED FOR A WHILE, BUT HAVE RETURNED AND ARE STILL AN ISSUE TO DATE. ISSUES ARE DETAILED BELOW: THE CAR OFTEN CHUGS WHEN IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY DURING ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THIS IS TERRIFYING AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY AND WHEN IT WILL NOT - AT LEAST TWICE IN RECENT HISTORY I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN FROM A STOPPED POSITION, HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO GET THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, BUT THE CAR STRUGGLED AND FINALLY MADE IT THROUGH TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT. OTHER TIMES, THE RPMS SEEM TO REV UP FOR NO REASON, AND THE CAR ACCELERATES VERY QUICKLY THOUGH THE PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL HAS NOT CHANGED. THOUGH THE HAS HAPPENED WITH LESS FREQUENCY, IT IS ALMOST MORE FRIGHTENING AS I FEEL LIKE I AM NOT IN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLES SPEED WHILE IN TRAFFIC. TYPICALLY THIS HAPPENS WHEN COMING FROM A STOPPED POSITION AS WELL. THE HORN HAS STOPPED WORKING AFTER 31000 MILES, THE RELAY AND FUSE HAVE BOTH BEEN CHECKED AND ARE STILL GOOD. I NOTICED IT WHEN I LOCKED MY CAR, AND THEN WHEN I PRESSED THE PANIC BUTTON THERE WAS NO SOUND AS WELL AS WHEN I PRESSED THE HORN BUTTON. THE HORN SHOULD NOT BE OUT ON ANY CAR AFTER ONLY 30K MILES, THESE CARS SEEM TO BE WIRED BADLY WHICH IS A SHAME.

I DRIVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN JANUARY 2015. IN THE FALL OF 2015 MY CAR BEGAN JOLTING EVERY TIME I PUT PRESSURE ON THE GAS, THIS WAS ALARMING. WHEN IT BECAME WORSE, I BOUGHT THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, AND CAME TO FIND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS RECALLED. TO FIX THIS FORD HAD A STRICT PROTOCOL TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION IN A 3 STEP PROCESS. THE MECHANICS ARE ONLY TOLD TO DO STEP 1, AND THEN IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIR, CONTINUE WITH STEP 2 AND SO ON. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED JOLTING AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER, THIS TIME WORSE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING A MONTH FOR THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET THAT PART THAT WILL "FIX" MY PROBLEM, WHILE I WAS ASSURED THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT GET WORSE. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE ANY ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND/OR THE RADIO AND TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE RADIO FOR APPROXIMATELY $800. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH MY 2012 FOCUS AND AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT, I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE IN THE FUTURE.
I HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS. ONLY A YEAR AFTER BUYING THIS CAR I BEGAN TO NOTICE ISSUES WITH SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION ISSUES TO MY DEALER. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS "NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION". BEFORE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FORS CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM HAPPENED, THERE WAS A MINOR RECALL TO REDUCE INSTANCES OF ROLLING BACK ON HILLS. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE THAT FIXED ONLY TO HAVE MORE INTENSE ISSUES SURFACE LATER. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTICS MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT WITH NO REAL RESULTS ON THE TRANSMISSION. IN OCTOBER OF 2014 -2.5 YEARS AFTER PURCHASING A BRAND NEW CAR. MY TRANSMISSION OFFICIALLY FAILED AS I TRIED TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY. FORD ISSUED A NOT-QUITE-RECALL ANNOUNCEMENT, AND I TOOK MY FORD IN TO GET THE REPAIR SERVICE DONE WITH 51,095 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAD TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS (SEALS AND CLUTCH) REPLACED EXACTLY AS WAS INSTRUCTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. 10,000 MILES LATER, IN APRIL 2015, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING THE BEGINNINGS OF THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. IT WOULD SEEM THAT WHATEVER FORD CORPORATE CLAIMS IS THE ISSUE IS NOT THE CASE OR THAT THE FIX FORD CORPORATE ISN'T AN ACTUAL FIX. MORE THAN THIS, I'VE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO THE SAME REPLACEMENT PROCESS WHEN FORD CONFIRMED THAT THE SAME ISSUE WAS HAPPENING AND THE SAME OUTCOMES WERE IMMINENT. I ORDERED THE PARTS ON 4/16 BECAUSE THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE. 2 MONTHS LATER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO DO THIS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I'M LUCKY THAT MY HIGHWAY MERGE STALL-OUT DIDN'T END POORLY THE LAST TIME BUT NOT KNOWING WHETHER ACCELERATING IS POSSIBLE OR WHEN YOUR TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL IS SCARY. THE FACT THAT THIS IS HAPPENING AT 60,000 MILES IS INEXCUSABLE AND UNSAFE. THIS "PROGRAM" ALLOWS FORD TO AVOID FIXING THE ISSUE AND LEAVES CONSUMERS IN AN UNSAFE, UNRELIABLE AND FINANCIALLY DRAINING SITUATION.
SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS FOR FOCUS 2012 TWO YEARS AGO, THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY STALL OUT AND STOP WORKING ENTIRELY. I AM 6 MONTHS PREGNANT AND AFTER BRINGING THIS CAR IN FOR NUMEROUS REPAIRS OF THIS ISSUE, WITH NO REAL RESOLVE, I AM NOW FURIOUS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH AND MY ENGINE SAID "PARKING ASSIST FAILURE" AND THE CAR DIED. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY MULTIPLE CARS AS I TRIED TO COAST MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I COULD BRING IT IN "BUT THEY ALREADY FIXED IT." THEN JUST A FEW DAYS LATER I AM AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, AND IT STALLS AGAIN..THIS TIME WONT TURN BACK ON. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND FROM FORD, AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP, AND I NEED OUT OF THIS CAR. I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN VOLKSWAGON'S, AND THIS WAS MY FIRST FORD. NEVER AGAIN. MEANWHILE, I AM UNDERWATER ON MY CAR LOAN NOW, BECAUSE I HAVE A CAR THAT IS WORTH NOTHING.
DRIVER WINDOW WORKED ONLY INTERMITTENTLY AND THEN CEASED ALTOGETHER. HAD THE SWITCH REPLACED. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW IS EXHIBITING THE SAME EARLY SYMPTOMS. IT TOOK ONLY ONE WEEK FOR THE FIRST WINDOW TO FAIL, SO IT PROBABLY WON'T BE LONG BEFORE WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE SECOND.
ON SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2015, I WAS TRAVELING EAST ON INTERSTATE 40, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE. SUDDENLY THE GAS PEDAL BUMPED TWICE AND MY VEHICLE WENT COMPLETELY DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS BUSY INTERSTATE. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM JUST DIED, MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULDN,T EVEN WORK. IALL I COULD DO WAS CONTINUE TO LAY ON THE HORN AND WAVE MY HAND OUT THE WINDOW TRYING TO GET THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO REALIZE MY CAR HAD STOPPED. MY HUSBAND TOLD ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. I WENT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A GOOD SAMARITAN, STOPPED AND WAS ABLE TO PUSH MY CAR ACROSS THE TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC AND SAFELY ON THE RIGHT MEDIAN. THIS HAPPENED BETWEEN 7:30 AND 8:15 IN THE EVENING. MY HUSBAND ARRIVED ON SCENE AND WE PLANNED TO RETURN IN THE MORNING WITH A BATTERY HOPING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I AM CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED SINCE 03/15/2015, I COULDN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. I DO NOT THINK THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE BATTERY, I THINK IT WAS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH, 2013 AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE. EVERY PROBLEM I'VE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THERE WAS IN FACT AN ISSUE WITH THE CLUTCH, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS DEFECTIVE AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE WARRANTY ON THE CLUTCH WAS EXTENDED TO 100,000 MILES. I HAVE A MESSAGE SCREEN ON THIS CAR. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS GIVEN TO ME. I DEFINITELY FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! WHAT MAKES A CAR COMPLETELY DIE AS YOU ARE TRAVELING 55MPH? I HAVE SPOKEN TO FORD AND THEY SAY THAT PARTICULAR MODEL DOES HAVE SOME ISSUES, BUT THEY SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT COULD HAVE GONE WRONG. VEHICLE NOT STARTING. VEHICLE HAS POWER BUT NOTHING WHEN I TRY TO START CAR. EVERYTHING WORKS BUT FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE CAR STARTS. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN I DROVE TO THE SUPERMARKET. AFTER I CAME OUT AND ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. EVERYTHING WORKS ELECTRICALLY (RADIO, LIGHTS, ETC...) BUT TURNING THE IGNITION KEY FULLY DID NOTHING. THIS NOW HAPPENS DAILY AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF IT WILL NOT START OR TURN OVER. IF YOU LET THE CAR COOL DOWN FOR A COUPLE HOURS IT GENERALLY WILL START. DRIVING IS DONE MAINLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE OIL LEVEL AND ENGINE TEMPERATURE ARE FINE ACCORDING TO DIPSTICK AND GAUGES. BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY IN CASE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. ENSURED THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY WAS SOLIDLY ATTACHED TO METAL (NOT PAINTED METAL) TO ENSURE PROPER GROUNDING. NOTHING HELPED. DEALER APPOINTMENT THIS WEEK. ALSO RECEIVED "HILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" WARNING ON DASH. A FRIEND OF MINE WHO OWNS THE SAME EXACT MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLE (2012 FORD FOCUS) HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIM. THE DEALER SWITCHED OUT THEIR TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) AND THIS FIXED THEIR PROBLEM. TIME FOR A RECALL. *TR
HORN STOPPED WORKING CHECKED FUSES AND RELAYS WHICH ALL WORK BUT AFTER READING THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN THAT THE WIRING IN THE CAR CAUSES A PROBLEM WITH THE HORN BECOMING INOPERATIVE. THIS IS A WIDER PROBLEM AND WISH TO HAVE FORD ISSUE A RECALL. I HAVE HAD ISSUES NOT BEING ABLE TO WARN PEOPLE DRIFTING OR NOT PAYING ATTENTION WITH NO WAY TO WARN THEM. MY CAR SYNC HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY AND MY RADIO WOULD JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WOULD HAVE TO STOP TURN OFF MY CAR AND TAKE THE KIT WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING ELECTRICAL BECAUSE I COULD MANIPULATE THE FREQUENCY SOUND BY TURNING THE HEAT ON AND OFF OR THE WIPERS.EY OUT THEN OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR START IT BACK UP AND THE RADIO WOULD TURN ON. RECENTLY SOMETHING HAPPENED WHERE A LOUD CRACKLE CAME THROUGH THE SPEAKER AND THE RADIO WENT OUT BUT THEN A STATIC CAME ON THAT I COULD NOT SHUT OFF. I COULD NOT TURN OFF THE SOUND EVEN AFTER I SHUT OFF THE CAR THE STATIC KEPT GOING LONG AFTER I SHUT THE DOOR AND WALKED AWAY. I WOKE UP TO A DEAD BATTERY. FORD MADE ME PAY FOR A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS A WEAR ITEM EVEN THOUGH WHATEVER WAS HAPPENING TO THE CAR WAS WHAT WORE THE BATTERY DOWN. *TR
BOTH FRONT ELECTRIC WINDOWS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. MOTOR MISFIRED AT 50MPH. *TR
THE HORN HAS STOPPED WORKING. IT WORKED THE FIRST FEW WEEKS WE HAD THE CAR, AND IT NO LONGER WORKS CURRENTLY. FUSES AND RELAYS WERE CHECKED ASSOCIATED WITH HORN FUNCTION VIA OWNERS MANUAL AND WERE NOT THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE. *TR

THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON, RADIO WORKS, ETC BUT THE STARTER ACTED LIKE IT WAS NOT EVEN GETTING POWER. I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE HAD A BAD BATTERY, AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO JUMP START THE CAR, IT FINALLY STARTED. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I CHECKED THE DASH INDICATOR TO SEE IF IT WAS IN REVERSE AND THE SHIFT INDICATOR HAD NOTHING HIGHLIGHTED. I PUT IT BACK IN PARK THEN IT HIGHLIGHTED THE "P", PUT IT BACK IN REVERSE AND AGAIN IT ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I ROLLED BACK A BIT AND PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT STILL ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. I THOUGHT IT COULD BE DUE TO A LOW POWER BATTERY WHICH ALSO HAD ACID LEAKING SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH A NEW BATTERY. THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKED (I.E. RADIO, DASH, A/C BLOWER, ETC). I LET IT SIT A DAY AND TRIED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING DAY AND IT STARTED RIGHT OFF THE BAT. I PUT IT IN GEAR AND IT WENT INTO GEAR THIS TIME. A COUPLE MINUTES LATER, AN INCLINE ASSIST WARNING CAME UP ON THE RADIO SCREEN AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS ALERTS WERE LIGHTED ON THE DASH. SUDDENLY, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR AGAIN. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP WHICH IT THEN WENT BACK INTO GEAR WITH NO PROBLEM. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND OTHERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. SOME EVEN WHILE DRIVING, WHICH MAKES ME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO THINK OF THAT HAPPENING ON AN INTERSTATE. I CONTACTED MY FORD DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY DENIED EVER HEARING ANYTHING ABOUT THAT TYPE OF ISSUE. I TURN THE KEY AND THE FOCUS DOESN'T START. AT FIRST THE DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE KEY - THEY WERE RECEIVING AN ERROR MESSAGE. THE SECOND TIME, THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE PART THAT READ THE KEY AND THEY REPLACED IT. THE THIRD TIME THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. SOMETIMES I CAN HOLD THE KEY 2-4 SECONDS AND THE FOCUS WILL START. OTHER TIMES AFTER HOLDING THE KEY A FEW SECONDS, I RELEASE THE KEY AND THE FOCUS STARTS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
OUR 2012 FORD FOCUS SHUT OFF AT 70 MPH, WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY LOSING PWR STR, PWR BRK, & ILLUMINATING ALL INST PANEL ICONS AS IN (KEY ON-ENG OFF). THEN WHILE COASTING TO COMPLETE STOP, CAR RETURNED TO NORMAL OPS & WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY, NEVER TOUCHING THE IGN KEY SWITCH. FORD DEALER CLEARED MULTIPLE CODES, WHICH THEY WOULD NOT REVEAL. THEY DID TELL ME THERE WAS A PCM COMMUNICATION FAILURE IN HISTORY, BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY REASON FOR IT. THEY ALSO PERFORMED MULTIPOINT INSPECTION, WITH NO ISSUES FOUND. 1 MONTH PRIOR TO INCIDENT THE AUTOMATIC CLUTCH-OIL SEAL RECALL WAS PERFORMED UNDER WARRANTY. (CLUTCH & INNER INPUT SHAFT SEAL WAS REPLACED). CAR HAS BEEN OK SINCE. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

I GOT IN CAR TO GO TO THE STORE PUT ON SEAT BELT STARTED CAR PUT CAR INTO DRIVE 1/4 MILE DOWN THE ROAD FROM LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY DOORS UNLOCKED AND OPENED I HAD TO STOP IMMEDIATELY AND THEY WOULD NOT CLOSE. LEFT FRONT DRIVERS DOOR AND RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER AND DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE AND INSPECTIONS BY CERTIFIED MECHANICS. THEY SAID DOOR LATCHES WONT CATCH OR ENGAGE TO KEEP DOORS CLOSED NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ONLY BLINKING DISPLAY THAT DOORS ARE OPEN ONLY AFTER I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AND IN PARK. *TR
THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE IN TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR EVENING TRAFFIC. I HAD TO COME TO A STOP ON TRAFFIC IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE DUE TO TRAFFIC AT A POINT WHERE THERE WAS MOVING TRAFFIC IN LANES ON EITHER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AS NORMAL, NO LIGHTS CAME ON (NOTHING TO ALERT TO AN ISSUE), HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE MY CAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. IT WAS AS IF MY CAR WAS IN PARK AND I WAS REVVING THE ENGINE. I PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON, CALLED 911 TO REPORT I COULD NOT GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE TO MOVE MY CAR AS I FEARED I WOULD BE HIT SINCE IT WAS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND COULD NOT EVEN OPEN MY DOOR. I SHUT MY ENGINE OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, AND TRIED AGAIN. THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER BEING STOPPED AND UNABLE TO MOVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO RE-ENGAGE AND I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD THE CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALER AS IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR A WEEK. AS SOON AS I GOT MY CAR BACK, I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MILES, AND THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN, BUT THANKFULLY I WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND NOT IN ANY HEAVY TRAFFIC AS I WAS WITH THE FIRST INCIDENT. AGAIN, IT WAS ARRANGED TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER (THE DEALER HAD MY CAR FROM APPROXIMATELY 7/11/14 TO 8/1/14). AGAIN, I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WITHIN 2 DAYS OF HAVING THE CAR RETURNED TO ME, I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 20-30 TOTAL MILES, AND MY CAR STOPPED ON ANOTHER HIGHLY TRAVELED ROAD, BUT THANKFULLY WHILE IN A TURN LANE. A STRANGER HELPED ME PUSH MY CAR TO A NEARBY GAS STATION WHERE IT HAD TO BE LEFT UNTIL IT COULD BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. *TR
MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP ABOUT 4X'S IN 1 MONTH. ISSUE BEGAN DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH. WENT TO ACCELERATE FELT A SUDDEN JERK & NOTHING. LOOK DOWN TO SEE MY DRIVE LIGHT FLASHING & AM STEADILY DECREASING IN SPEED WITH NO WAY TO ACCELERATE, LIKE IN NEUTRAL. I LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, PUT THE CAR IN PARK WHICH BEGAN TO FLASH. ACCELERATED A COUPLE TIMES TO BE SURE IT RESPONDED BEFORE DRIVING BUT THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. DRIVING AGAIN, ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, NOT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD, SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME PUT IT IN PARK, ACCELERATED & NOTHING. SHUT OFF MY CAR TO RESET IT & MY CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON. AFTER WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, THE CAR WOULD JUST NOT TURN ON, EVERYTHING RELATED TO THE BATTERY WOULD TURN ON BUT THE CAR DIDN'T. IN THE SHOP THIS 1ST TIME A TOTAL OF 3 DAYS, STILL UNSURE ABOUT IT BEING FIXED (BECAUSE THEY JUST FIXED THE "ELECTRICAL" PART, NOT THE ISSUE) LO & BEHOLD WHEN I TURNED INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD SAME THING HAPPENED (DRIVE LIGHT FLASHED & ACCELERATOR DIDN'T RESPOND). I GET HOME TO PARK & TURN ON MY CAR, AFTER ATTEMPTING TO TURN IT BACK ON, NOTHING. ANOTHER TOW TRUCK CAME THE NEXT MORNING TO GET IT, THIS TIME MY CAR WAS THERE 7 DAYS. THE PRODUCT IS BOSCH POWER XPRESS 240 VOLT CHARGER COUPLED TO MY 2012 FORD FOCUS ELECTRIC. IT IS SET TO 30 AMPS FOR MY VEHICLE....UPDATED 12/17/14 *BF THIS CHARGER WAS PUT IN SERVICE ON 7/22/2013. I NOTICED IN FEBRUARY THAT THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE ELECTRICAL SMELL OF MELTED PLASTIC AFTER CHARGING THE CAR, BUT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE. I FIGURED THAT WITH THE VERY COLD AIR IN MY GARAGE THAT MY SENSE OF SMELL MAY BE OFF. I CHARGE AT HOME AND AT WORK. THE WORK CHARGER IS MADE BY PEP. I HAVE ALSO OCCASIONALLY USED CHARGEPOINT CHARGERS. DURING THE WINTER I ALSO PRE-CONDITION THE VEHICLE TO 85 DEGREES. ON 3/27/14 I NOTICED FIRSTHAND THE ISSUE WHILE GETTING IN THE CAR IN THE MORNING. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL PRE-CONDITIONING WHEN I UNPLUGGED IT. THE CHARGER WAS MELTED AT THE CHARGING STATION COUPLER END AND THE VEHICLE CHARGE INLET PORT WAS ALSO MELTED. I TOUCHED THE CHARGING STATION COUPLER AFTER UNPLUGGING IT FROM MAIN POWER AND THE TIPS OF THE CONTACTS WERE BASICALLY MOLTEN PLASTIC THAT BURNT THE TIP OF MY FINGER. I DECIDED TO SCHEDULE A WARRANTY REPAIR WITH FORD. ON 3/28/2014 I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR WARRANTY SERVICE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY REPLACED THE CHARGE PORT UNDER WARRANTY. ON 4/8/2014 I CALLED BOSCH ABOUT THE CHARGER AND THEY OPENED A CASE TO REPLACE THE CHARGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CLAIM WAS ACCEPTED AND PROCESSED ON 4/11/2014. ALSO RESULTED IN A TERRIBLE BACKUP ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS A SHORT SOMEWHERE THAT CAUSES THE HORN TO STOP WORKING INTERMITTENTLY AND ALSO THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. IF I HAD BEEN ON A HIGHWAY, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE & TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE CAR WOULD THEN DRIVE, BUT THE ROLLING BACKWARDS ON HILLS, SPUTTERING WHEN STOPPED, JUMPING UPON ACCELERATION, & BRIEFLY LOSING ACCELERATION WHILE THE RPM??S REVVED STILL CONTINUED & AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THE DEALERSHIP COULD STILL NOT FIX THESE ISSUES. I THEN RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD REFERENCING A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 12B37 DATED MAY 2012. IT ACKNOWLEDGED THESE ISSUES SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. ALTHOUGH THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AGAIN AS WELL AS THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. THESE PROBLEMS COULD POTENTIAL CAUSE A WRECK, INJURING MYSELF OR OTHERS AROUND ME. *TR

THIS BEHAVIOR MAKES THE VEHICLE UNDRIVEABLE AND UNSAFE (HAD THESE ISSUES OCCURRED AT NIGHT, THE CONSEQUENCES COULD HAVE BEEN VERY SERIOUS). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE WIRES ON THE TRUNK LID WERE EXPOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALTER THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
2012 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRUNK LID, WIRING AND WATER FLOWING DOWN REAR WINDOW *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE TRUNK WAS ACTIVATED, THE LID WENT FROM FULLY CLOSED TO FULLY OPENED AT A HIGH VELOCITY IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE WIRING ROUTED TO THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK LID, WAS HANGING DOWN, AND WHEN IT RAINED, WATER FLOWED DOWN AND THROUGH THE GAPS BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW AND THE TOP OF THE TRUNK LID.
VEHICLE STARTED UP BUT THE DISPLAY SCREEN THAT IS VISIBLE BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BLACK. SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND TRIED TO RESTART BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ALSO, I HAD NO HEADLIGHTS AND COULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL BUT THE RADIO WORKED. A WEEK PREVIOUSLY TO THIS INCIDENT MY DATE ON THE MY TOUCH SYSTEM CHANGED BACK TO 4/20/2011 AND THE TIME WAS OFF BY 2 HOURS PREVIOUS TO THE CURRENT TIME. IT EVENTUALLY WENT BACK TO THE CORRECT DATE AND TIME BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES WITH A DELAY OF ABOUT 5 MINUTES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN A MONTH THAT I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED IN FOR REPAIR. *TR
VEHICLE STARTED BUT RAN VERY ROUGH.TURNED OFF IGNITION AND RESTARTED AND MY TOUCH SCREEN CAME UP BUT THEN EVERY THING WENT BLACK. VEHICLE CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM LOCKED THE CAR WHILE PARKED WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION. LOCKSMITH WAS CALLED TO FORCE ENTRY. ALARM DID NOT ACTIVATE WHEN DOOR WAS OPENED. *TR
TWO INCIDENTS. WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED ON AN ARTERIAL STREET. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT, AND THERE WAS NO DANGER TO ME OR OTHER MOTORISTS. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS OUT OF GAS. THE GAUGE HAD BEEN READING 1/4 FULL AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE GAUGE CONTINUED TO GIVE FALSE READINGS (MOVED FROM LOWER TO HIGHER AMOUNTS DURING THE COURSE OF EXHAUSTING THE FUEL SUPPLY) OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. EVENTUALLY THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FUEL TANK WAS WARPED, AND REPLACED THE TANK. ONE WEEK LATER, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY APPROACHING A MAJOR FREEWAY SYSTEM INTERCHANGE, AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF, CAUSING ME TO HAVE IMMEDIATELY ATTEMPT TO MOVE ACROSS FOUR LANES OF MODERATELY HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS HAPPENED ON A SLIGHT UPHILL INCLINE, SO THE CAR LOST FORWARD SPEED VERY QUICKLY. DURING THE EMERGENCY MANEUVER, I WAS FORCED IN FRONT OF ANOTHER MOTORIST, NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS EXHAUSTED OF FUEL, BUT WITHIN TEN MINUTES PRIOR HAD SHOWN A READING OF 1/4 TANK REMAINING. IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE GAUGE NEEDLE WAS ACTUALLY INDICATING 1/2 TANK. *TR
