Car has stalled several times recently on the interstate at least 5 times. Randomly just shuts down. Once stopped the dash says shift in to park to start. Then it will start.
A new 3.6 Pentastar engine was installed in my 2014 Dodge Durango in July 2019, this repair was over $5,000 and FCA only granted a $1300 goodwill towards the cost. After maintaining the vehicle with a new engine in it, this engine is now failing too. The problem is due to the right cylinder head being damaged. This has caused a knocking noise emitting from the engine and rough idling whenever the vehicle is on. A tune up was done last year in December when check engine light came on, with new spark plugs and filters put in but this has not solved the issued. Taking the vehicle back to mechanic to do further diagnostic, a pressure test was done showing the 6 cylinder had no pressure. A damage head with possible damage to crankshaft rods and rocker arms. This vehicle is our main vehicle for our family, and the price to repair this damage on the second engine this car has had is too high. If we continue driving this vehicle, we would result in total power failure, worst case a blown engine. Complaints have been filed with Attorney General of the state of Florida along with the Better Business Bureau.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that he was observing that an oil stain was showing on his driveway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the oil filter adapter housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the contact observed that the oil leak had reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same mechanic who replaced the oil filter adapter housing again, however, the failure reoccurred. The contact returned to the same mechanic who advised that the adapter filter was manufactured with an aluminum housing and no longer in plastic. The contact stated that the mechanic was test-driving the vehicle after he had installed the aluminum oil filter adapter housing. The contact stated that the mechanic advised he was driving at approximately 30 MPH when the vehicle began emitting smoke. The contact was advised by the mechanic that he pulled off of the roadway, and turned the vehicle off, but was unable to open the hood due to flames. The fire department was called and they extinguished the flames. The vehicle was towed back to the mechanic's shop. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Manifold bolts regularly break on Dodge Durango V8 vehicles. Mine are broken, which results in exhaust leak and interferes with the exhaust system, leading to engine check lights and potentially other performance or emissions issues. Symptoms include a loud ticking sound that comes from the engine bay at startup. FCA issued a service bulletin on this known problem and many customers have reported this issue on internet forums dedicated to this vehicle. Several customers have had these bolts break multiple times. The engine block and the manifold are different materials so they expand at different rates with increase in temperature. This places excess stress on small diameter bolts, which eventually fail due to this defect.
The engine was making a loud clicking noise as soon as I started it up. I towed it to the dealer (Sports Durst) and the diagnostic said the engine needs rebuilding. The SUV has only 80.041 miles on it and the engine has deteriorated is a common problem with this mileage. There are comments all over the internet about the Hemi 5.7 engine failing around 80,000 miles. I should not have to pay to repair an engine this is already defective when it leaves the factory.

2014 DODGE DURANGO, WITH 125,000. HAS RECENTLY REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE OIL/COOLAND HOUSING, WHICH HAS A KNOWN DEFECT AND COST $1800 (MEINEKE). NOW REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF ROCKER/LIFTERS/CAM AT A COST OF $4,200 (RAMSEY DODGE, CHRYSLER JEEP). BOTH REPAIRS ARE KNOWN DEFECTS, BUT NOT WARRANTIED OR SUBJECT TO RECALL BY CHRYSLER DESPITE THESE WELL KNOWN ISSUES AND A RECENT LAWSUIT.

TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD FUEL PUMP, AND WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED ITS JUST ONLY 110000KMS. SEND THE MESSAGE TO FCA THEY DOES NOT CARE THEY TOLD THE CAR FINISHED MANUFACTURER WARRANTY WE HAVE TO REPAIR AND ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THEM. FUNNY PART IS MY FRIEND ALSO TOOK THE SAME CAR SAME MODEL WITH ONE WEEK DIFFERENCE HE ALSO FACE THE SAME ISSUES ON SAME MONTH ON 2020 OCT I BELIVE. I ALREADY REPORTED BUT NO RESPONSE. THIS FUEL PUMP CAN CAUSE PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING ALSO IF PRESSURE FAILS AND NO SUPPLY OF FUEL THEN ITBCAN CAUSE ACCIDENT. THE OTHER THING IS SOME OTHER MANUFACTURER FOR AMERICAN AND GERMAN CARS ALREADY CALLED FOR RECALL DUE TO FUEL PUMP ON JAN 2021, STILL FCA MANUFACTURER DOES NOT CARE THEY JUST IGNORE THE COMPLAINT AND ISSUE TELLING WARRANTY FINISH. 2. MY SECOND ISSUE HAPPEND WHEN AROUND 65000 LMS ENGINE IS GIVING NOISE TICKING, DEALER TOLD TAPPET ISSUE WARRANTY FINISHED CANT DO ANYTHING. U CAN DRIVE ITS JUST GIVE SOUND ONLY. NOW THE SOUND IS INCREASED AND I INFORMED MANUFACTURER THEY TOLD Y I DID NOT TELL BEFORE MY WARRANTY FOR CAR IS FINISHED, AND IF WE GO AND CHECK 2014 MODEL DURANGO THE PROBLEM OS COMMON AND THEY DONT WANT TO FIX THEY JUST WANT US TO PAY HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO REPAIR OUR OWN, THEY KNOWS THEIR CAR HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AND THEY NEVER BOTHERED. ON MY VIEW THEY HAVE TO TAKE INITIATIVE TO RECALL TO FIX. IF U GO TO COMPLAINT FORUM THERE IS LOT LIKE THIS PROBLM. THE CONTACT CALLED JIMMY BRITT CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (12114 US-301 S, STATESBORO, GA 30458) AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WOULD BE A FEE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT CHRYSLER HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE TICKING FAILURE HOWEVER, HER VEHICLE YEAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING IS LEAKING OIL. I WAS MADE AWARE THAT IT IS A PROBLEM ON ALL DODGE DURANGO MODELS. THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING OVER $1K FOR THE REPAIR. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHICH THE COMPANY SHOULD COVER.
I HAD SIGNIFICANT OIL LEAKS IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AT 105,000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET SERVICED. THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION FLUID (PURCHASED AT DODGE DEALERSHIP) AND SERVICED ANY OTHER AREAS. I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK AND NOTICED IT WAS STILL LEAKING A GREAT AMOUNT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC THINKING THE ISSUE WAS NOT SOLVED. THE MECHANIC THEN ADVISED ME THAT THERE IS AN OIL LEAK NEXT TO THE OIL COOLER AND WHEN PARKED AT AN INCLINE, IT BEGINS TO LEAK PROFUSELY. HE SAID THIS IS VERY COMMON WITH DODGE DURANGO'S AND REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT RECALLS. THEY INDICATED THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. I HAVE SELDOM DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE THE PANDEMIC AND HAVE UPKEEP THE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2016.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED ONLINE BY OTHER DODGE DURANGO OWNERS THAT THE DEFECT WAS RELATED TO THE ENGINE LIFTERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND TRANSFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TICKING NOISE WHEN ENGINE WAS RUNNING. MECHANIC WAS FAMILIAR WITH NOISE. STATED IT WAS A BAD ROCKER ARM.WHEN IT WAS TAKEN APART FOUND THAT THE BAD ROCKER HAD ALSO DAMAGED CAM SHAFT . ENDED UP REPLACING ALL ROCKERS AND CAMS AT A COST OF 2400.00. MECHANIC ALSO STATED THIS WAS A WELL KNOW ISSUE WITH THESE MOTORS
SEVERE LEAKAGE OF FLUIDS UNDERNEATH VEHICLE RESULTED IN REPLACEMENT OF RADIATOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
WHEN VEHICLE IS RUNNING IN PARK YOU CAN HEAR A CLICKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE. WHEN IN PARK AND YOU EXCELERATE THE GAS THE CLICKING SOUNDS GETS FASTER. WHEN IN DRIVE THE SAME THING HAPPENS. NO ACTUAL ISSUES WITH ENGINE YET, BUT WITH RESEARCH AND SPEAKING TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH HIGHER MILEAGE. RESEARCH AND BRINGING IT TO A MECHANIC HAS COME TO THE CONCLUSION OF A BAD CAM SHAFT AND ROCKERS. TOTAL PARTS AND LABOR WOULD TOTAL CLOSE TO $2,000.
WHEN CRANKING UP MY VEHICLE I HEARD A TICKING NOISE, AS I STARTED TO DRIVE THE NOISE BEGAN TO GET LOUDER. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE A BAD LIFTER IN THE ENGINE IT WILL COST OVER $2000 TO GET FIXED OR MORE. I ONLY HAVE 135,000 MILES ON MY DURANGO CITADEL THAT IS A 2014. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS TYPE OF ENGINE ISSUE THIS SOON. I AM HIGHLY UPSET ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS, I BARELY HIT 40K AND I AM EXPERIENCING A LOT OF LIFTER NOISE. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS I AM SURPRISED THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED FOR THIS PURPOSE. WHEN IT'S STATIONARY THE SOUND IS A LOT LOUDER THAN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON SHOWING CODE P0430. THIS CODE SHOWS BANK 2 CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CHANGED AND SHORT TIME LATER THE CODE SHOWED UP AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE MAINTENANCE SHOP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ENGINE VALVE SEALS ARE LEAKING OIL INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. ALSO WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON THE VEHICLE POURS OUT BLUE SMOKE WHICH IS OIL BURNING. MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE.
I WANTED TO ADD TO THE MOUNTING NUMBER OF NOISY LIFTER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. MY 2014 DURANGO HAD THE 100K MILE WARRANTY AND AT APPROX 96K STARTED HAVING LIFTER NOISE. DELEARSHIP WAS AWESOME (SANDY SANSING IN MILTON) WITH FIXING THE VEHICLE. NOW AT 122K MILES I AM HAVING THE ISSUE AGAIN. NOT SURE IF THEY ARE GOING TO BE AWESOME A SECOND TIME. MY COMPLAINT IS THEY ONLY REPLACED MY #2 ROCKER AND LIFTER ALONG WITH THE EXHAUST CAM. THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED. BUT I GET IT, YOU CANT MAKE MONEY THAT WAY. DODGE FIX YOUR PROBLEM PENTASTAR! OH YEAH DEALERSHIP PROVIDED A RENTAL AND EVERYTHING DURING MY WEEK LONG REPAIR.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE HAD TURNED OFF. ALL ELECTRICAL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL AND NO WARNINGS APPEARED. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED THE MESSAGE "SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK AND RESTART ENGINE." I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AT VARYING SPEEDS UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHO HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS AND WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE OR DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. NO CODES WERE STORED IN THE VEHICLE.
MECHANIC STATED IT WAS A BAD LIFTER IN ENGINE CAUSEING A TICKING SOUND. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ABOUT THIS ISSUE, IT HAS SHOWN ME THAT THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE WITH ALOT OF YOUR DURANGO MODELS AND ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS NOT BEING A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I HAVE LESS THAN 88,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND OTHERS WITH FAR LESS MILEAGE HAVING ENGINE TROUBLE AND DODGE/CHRYSLER WILL NOT RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM.
I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT AS MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO LIMITED HAD AN OIL LEAK. OIL ENDS UP ALL OVER YOUR GARAGE, ROAD, DRIVEWAY IN THE SIZE OF A SOFTBALL ON THE GROUP AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. AFTER TAKING TO LOCAL MECHANIC, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE "COOLING ASSEMBLY OR A SENSOR WAS LEAKING". IT TURNS OUT MY CAR THE ENTIRE COOLING ASSEMBLY WAS BAD. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT 3 OTHER CHYSLER/DODGE PRODUCTS WERE IN HIS SHOP OVER THE PAST WEEK WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO, WHEN HE RECEIVED THE PART FROM THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER, THEY ORIGINALLY HAD 5 IN STOCK THAT WEEK AND I GOT THE LAST ONE. SO, THIS APPEARS TO BE A FLAW IN THE MANUFACTURED PART THAT LEAKS OIL AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A FIRE, ILLNESS, ETC. PART AND LABOR COST ME $650.00. MY 2014 DURANGO HAS 65,000 MILES AT TIME OF POSTING.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST MECHANIC (NOT A DODGE DEALERSHIP). THEY DID A SCAN AND THE CODE SAID MISFIRE, SO THEY RECOMMENDED A TUNE UP. $500 LATER THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. MY SON TOOK IT TO DODGE WHO SAID MISFIRE, LEFT HEAD. THE V6 ENGINE I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM UP TO 2013 AND DODGE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE LEFT HEAD TO 150K MILES. THEY TOLD US I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 5 WEEKS OR 3K MILES, SO THE REPAIR WOULD COST $2700.00. I CALLED DODGE CORPORATE FOR HELP AND WAS TOLD TOUGH, WE CANT HELP YOU. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS IN EARLIER YEARS. NOW I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION TO WORK AS THEY SAID NOT TO DRIVE IT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE 2014 V6 PENTASTAR ENGINE. TICKING NOISE FROM ENGINE. GETTING LOUDER WITH TIME AND WHEN ACCELERATING. VALVE LIFTER BAD. NEED TO BE REPLACED. TOLD IT IS FREQUENT PROBLEM BY DODGE DEALER FOR THESE MODELS.
IVE HAD A TOTAL OF SEVEN PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE RELATED TO THE ENGINE. NOW THERE IS A TIME KING SOUND WITH FULL OIL CHANGES ON THE PLAN EVERY THREEOMTHS. I TRHLY BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE HAS ENGINE PROBLEMS WITH THE WAY ITS BUILT.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2016. THE A/C WHEN TURNED ON BLOWS HOT AIR. AFTER I START THE VEHICLE AND LET IT RUN A MINUTE THE AIR IS WARM. IF I HAVE BEEN IN MOTION FOR 5 MINUTES OR MORE THE AIR IS HOT AS IF THE HEATER IS ON. NO ISSUES CAN BE FOUND AS FAR AS LEAKS OR ANYTHING ELSE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE PURCHASE. THE A/C WAS NOT USED IN OCTOBER SINCE IT IS HOT BUT WHEN I USE THE REMOTE START THE AIR WILL TURN ON BUT NEVER GETS COLD.
ROCKER ARM TICKING NOISE 3.6L V6. I BELIEVE THE SAME RECALL THAT WAS PUT INTO EFFECT FOR 2011 TO 2013 3.6 ENGINES BY DODGE SHOULD APPLY TO OTHER YEARS WITH THIS ENGINE. I'VE READ THAT THE 2014 ENGINE IS THE SAME AS 2011 TO 2013.
DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING, WHICH LEAKS DOWN THROUGH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND ALSO GETS ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE PENTASTAR 3.6L ENGINE ON ALL CHRYSLER PRODUCED VEHICLES. THEY HAVE MADE A FEW REVISIONS TO THIS PART, BUT HAVE NEVER ISSUED A RECALL LEAVING MANY VEHICLES WITH THIS FAULTY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PART.
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHILE ON FREEWAY. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENED AGAIN OVER THE NEXT 6 MONTH'S SEVERAL TIMES. NEW VEHICLE WAS AT DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES. DODGE SENT OUT A CORPORATE MACHANIC SAYING THERE WAS APINCH IN THE FUEL LINE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN A YEAR LATER, SAME FIX AT DEALERSHIP. AND TWO YEARS LATER, I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, CAR DOES NOT START ANYONE THIS TIME.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED DESPITE ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE HAVING BEEN CONDUCTED AS RECOMMENDED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS P0520 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH "A" CIRCUIT. SEEMINGLY THIS IS A FAULTY SENSOR/SWITCH WHICH HAS OCCURRED IN 12% OF DURANGO VEHICLES OF THE MANUFACTURER YEAR OF 2014.

AFTER ATTEMPTING THREE TIMES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT FINALLY STARTED AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A HALF MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
PART # 68105583AF WAS LEAKING ENGINE OIL. THE OIL WAS COLLECTING BETWEEN THE HEADS. DEALER REPLACE THE PART BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET IMFORMATION FROM DODGE IF THE PART HAS BEEN REDESIGNED OIL COLLECTING BETWEEN THE HEADS COULD CAUSE A FIRE THE OIL LEAKS WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING
VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WENT TO HAVE VEHICLE DIAGNOSIS COMPLETED BY SHOP AND IT WAS FOUND THAT HOUSING OIL FILTER IS DAMAGED WHICH LEAD TO OIL LEAK IT WAS FOUND THAT CHRYSLER ENGINE DESIGN OF HOUSING OIL FILTERS FOR 3.6L ENGINES HAVE BEEN POORLY MADE AN IT IS A COMMON ISSUE SERVICE BULLENTIN SB-10058301-5939 VERIFIES THIS ISSUE

UCONNECT SUGGESTED THAT A DEALER BE CONTACTED. THE DEALER (STEVENS CREEK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 4100 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SAN JOSE, CA 95129, (408) 248-1800) WAS CONTACTED. IN ADDITION, DARK SMOKE EMITTED FROM THE TAIL PIPE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING 2014 DURANGO (W/ 26313 MILES) ON HIGHWAY, THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" CAME ON, AND THE CAR SLOW DOWN TO 30 MPH AND IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 30 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND INSPECT THE CAR AND FOUND OIL DRIPPING FROM THE ENGINE AND THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE CAR WAS SOAKED WITH OIL WHICH CAN BE A FIRE HAZARD. UPON DOING A BRIEF RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND MANY PEOPLE WHO OWNS A 2014 DODGE/ CHRYSLER WITH A PENTASTAR ENGINE REPORTED THAT THE CRACKED "PLASTIC ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING" CAUSING THE LEAK. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX MY CAR UNDER WARRANTY AND BLAMED ME FOR "OVER TORQUING" THE OIL FILTER.
BAD OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WITH CODE P0520. ENGINE LIGHT SUDDENLY COME ON WHEN IDLE. SINCE THEN IT READ HIGH PRESSURE CLOSE TO 100PSI IN THE MORNING RIGHT AFTER I START MY CAR. LOWERED AS I DRIVE BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT DOESN'T GO OFF.
THE WATER PUMP BLEW AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WAS VERY LOUD WHEN WE STARTED IT, TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO OUR MECHANIC.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SLOWED INDEPENDENTLY AND STALLED. THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR PRESENT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE FOR TEN MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
NOTICED OIL LEAK UNDER VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, DISCOVERED IT WAS THE OIL FILTER HOUSING. TOOK TO DEALER WHO QUOTED $474.70 FOR REPAIR. VEHICLE HAD 47,XXX MILES AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE COULD NOT STATE WHY IT WASN'T COVERED OTHER THAN IT WAS OUTSIDE THE 3YR/36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER. MECHANIC DID NOT SPECIFY THAT PART WAS DAMAGED FROM OIL CHANGES. JUST STATED CRACKS WERE FOUND IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING. SERVICE BULLETIN SB-10058301-5939 DATED AUGUST 7, 2015 SHOWS THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE. ADDITIONAL SB-10080203-2280 DATED JUNE 15, 2016 PROVES THAT FCA KNOWS THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES AND WANT ENGINEERS TO BE CALLED. IT IS COMMON TO ALL 2014 3.6L PENTASTAR OIL FILTER HOUSINGS AFTER THE APPARENT DESIGN CHANGE FROM METAL TO PLASTIC. FCA AGREED TO RECOUP 50% OF THE COST AFTER THEY COULDN'T EXPLAIN WHY IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. IT'S A WELL KNOWN ISSUE ACROSS THE NUMEROUS FORUMS OUT THERE. OIL DRAINING DOWN BACK OF MOTOR OVER TRANSMISSION BELLHOUSING COULD BE HAZARDOUS AS A FIRE COULD BE STARTED DUE TO PROXIMITY TO EXHAUST SYSTEM.
CAR WON'T START, CAR STALLS AND ENGINES SUDDEN SHUT OFF
