2015 Dodge Dart Electrical Problems

Your car displays a false "not in park" message even when parked, sometimes preventing you from turning off the engine for up to 15 minutes. According to the recall notice, this cable failure could cause your car to unexpectedly lose the Park function or move in an unintended direction, potentially causing a crash. The fix will require the manufacturer to develop and release an improved replacement cable before repairs can be performed.

I am the original owner of this vehicle and have used this vehicle as my primary vehicle that has been well maintained in excellent mechanical condition with no accidents.

It’s been having trouble starting. It started with the air conditioning going out, then it would stall in the middle of driving there are some fuses that are burnt up. And some wires in vehicle that are burnt up.

Unknown , I was driving down the road at 50 MPH and my battery light came on then I lost my a/c my lights started flickering and I then lost power steering and brakes I had to use my emergency brake to slow down then all of my check engine and brake failure lights were flickering and my fuse box on top of my battery caught fire and was smoking and my car then shut off I could have crashed and or been hit and killed

My check engine light is on. I had it checked it's not reading anything. My right turn signal light keep going out.

I have been experiencing pretty much every recall that is on the list number one it started with my car check engine light coming on. And the codes that kept on coming up or for the plugs and coils. I would replace them and they would just go bad again in like a week it is causing my car to do what seems like it's misfiring.

I turned my car off and walked into work and while I was gone and my car was off it caught on fire in the battery compartment and is now totaled.

When pulling into the store a warning came on my screen stating that my turn signals were out when they weren't. Also stated that my low beams were out, they weren't. While driving in traffic a metallic burning smell came through the air vents every couple miles.

When I'm driving, my car has completely lost power and wouldn't move. The battery light comes on, although I have a brand new battery that I got a year ago, and when I turn the car completely off to restart it, it will not turn back on. I found a recall and had the recall fixed and it is now worse with shifting than it was before, and it's still stalling and losing complete power.

Car dropped out of gear in the middle of the highway during rush hour traffic. It was terrifying I was almost rear ended but was luckily able to get off the road safely. Dropped speed and there was no acceleration.

Car randomly shuts off while driving. With no warning, unsafe and could cause accidents.

My dodge dart has been having issues for a couple weeks. It will start jerking like you're driving a standard and don't know how to drive it. The ABS light, traction control light, check engine light and a couple other lights will all come on.

I have a 2015 dodge dart se and its been nothing but issues! In 2016 I was on the highway going 65mph and all sudden my [xxx] car shut off completely! I had to immediately turn it back on and shift into 4th gear because my car started slowing down while and I had to pull over!

Saturday january 9 2016 - hertz rental car - daytime light foggy conditions. Vehicle had been running since 09:35 edt with no similar incident. Incident 1 - driving interstate 79 nb in a descending right right turn with cruise control set to maintain speed limit.

The ECM/Throttle Positioning System has been faulting for a while and only getting worse causing the car to just randomly steal with no power. Usually can shut off and restart car and itll be good for 1 min - 30 min you never really know. I got stranded in the middle of the highway and couldn't start my car after it died while driving down the road.

The car intentionally starts. The radio sometimes works and sometimes has no power. It loses the air conditioner and power windows.

The car stalls completely at random speeds and consumes a huge amount of oil. This stalling is extremely dangerous as it happens at even highway speeds. This is not a unique problem as I have read hundreds of accounts of the exact same thing happening on the exact same vehicle type.

System: Electrical system failed and car completely lost power (for at least the fourth time), this time while driving. Yes, this car is available for inspection with some advance warning. Safety: If I had been driving in a less safe area at a higher speed and the car just shut off like it did today, but in the middle of the highway, I would have been in danger of getting hit by other drivers.

Again the same problem , battery light still on . I installed a new battery and alternator .but still doing the same. Called dodge and they don't know what the problem is.

My battery light came on going to work , left work battery light was out. Next day going thur a drive thur to get food battery light comes on again and car starts running rough like it wanted to stall out. Left to go home.

Transmission control module caused vehicle to surge forward without warning. Car eventually just stopped working and had to be towed to dealership, where they are having trouble locating the exact cause of the electrical trouble, but have narrowed down to the tcm, ecm, and/pcm. Car only has 70359 miles on it, and the dealership is saying it may need to be completely rewired and programmed.

My car shuts off while driving at almost any speed; at times when I hit a hard bump, or make hard turns, and even when idling at times as well.

As I was driving, I slowed and braked for other vehicles at a traffic light. As I started to re-accelorate, I realized the car had stalled. When I got the car re-started, it was running very rough and the check engine, the traction control and the cruise control lights were all lit and/or flashing.

The dodge dealership had me to come in to reprogram my cars pcm(under Recall) because it was burning a quart of oil in less than 300 miles and getting extremely hot but now the engine has less oil burn as much as before but has less horsepower(tested by plugin meter) and has a ton of blowby that it blows oil out of drain plug there is no error codes or anything but the extended warranty test for a new engine isnt covered because they reprogrammed the pcm and to get a new engine under their extended warranty I would have to lose the amount of oil that I was previously before they touched the PCM they waited to show me the extended warranty after they reprogrammed it a year prior withholding that I could been eligible for new engine without catastrophic damage this car also has bcm 3 that has severe parasitic drain making the car unsafe all the way around on all 2015 models

The electrical has a parasitic drain and it puts so much strain on the car that it will shut down on highways and in idle surging and it has no error codes popping up at all it originally started happening July 12th 2016 but a lot of these 2015 dodge darts are having these issues and having shut downs in the middle of intersections-highways and so on that this needs to be urgently recalled I desperately need help with this I take care of my disabled mother by myself and this has been a issue with this car for a while and well documented at the dealership with no help or recourse

Every since July 12th, 2016 25,993 I’ve had this car checked for electrical problems at the dealership and they always say they can see the drain but they couldn’t help but the problem has been tracked down to the body control module #3 electrical that stays on drawing 1.5amps every second and surges and tons of other people have the same issue as me proof all over the internet also it leaks a ton of oil out of the pvc into the intake coating the map sensor making it idle rough

Key fob gets stuck in the ignition. I have to set in the car for about 10 minutes before it will release. I did take to have looked at and the ignition switch and fob was replaced.

I have a warning light on my car for P1065 and P1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes.

I was driving the other day dropping off food for a customer and as I shifted my car from park to drive it wouldn’t change gears. Now let me remind u I’m stuck in the middle of these strangers driveway as they’re trying to leave their home and I cannot switch into reverse so I had to keep my foot on that break pedal the entire time.

Had this 2015 dodge dart for 1 week. The airbag light came on and would not go off. I took it to a dodge dealership and they quoted me 546.74 for a car that I bought a week ago, for a manufacturing issue that was obviously not caused by me.

The car will not shut off, I'm not a mechanic I dont know what the problem is I am wasting money trying to fix this problem it's been like this for over a year now this should be a recall as well as my oil goes away really fast I have to get an oil change sooner than most even using the good synthetic oils from the dealerships.

2015 dodge dart. The fuel level sender has stopped working. It affects the miles to empty, the fuel gauge, also the gas tank light is on.

The right window no longer works as well as the driver side window. The trunk is also not wanting to open. Key gets stuck in ignition every time I try and turn the car off.

I first started experiencing problems with my car in 2017 my car would overheat and shut off on me in the middle of the road. I took it into a dodge dealership and they said it was my battery after that I had them change the battery. After maybe a day I went to work and the car shut off on me again.

I've replaced my battery twice since purchase in may. Something is draining the battery and I've even experienced driving on the highway and all my dash lights start blinking until the car cuts off and I have to restart it to get to my destination; and then take it the auto parts store to have them recharge it.

Backseat of those not work. I have a lot of electrical issues. The trunk opens every time it's cold or raining by itself.

The headlights have been intermittent since I purchased the car, I ended up having to have both ballasts and bulbs replaced, still experiencing this issue intermittently. It is not something that is a recall or covered under any warranty past 40,000 this car has 50,000 and I'm already going to have a computer module replaced as it controls the headlights this will not be a cheap repair.

Driving to work on interstate 696 driving through royal oak west bound, the engine just shuts off, and shows on the dash engine trouble and electric symbol as well, lucky I was in the left lane and was able to get over, but it has been doing this since I got the car , dealer states they fixed it 3 times still doing the same thing. I have all the papers work since it started at 5000 miles.

Nov 2016, loss of power while driving, went into neutral, would start a few minutes later, but loss of power again. Took to dealership & they replaced the engine. Feb 2017 key stopped working, changed battery still didn't work, changed it again & it worked.

I have driven my 2015 dodge dart without issue till 2/15/17. It died in the middle of my wife driving the interstate on i40. The following day it died and my father in law had to jump the vehicle off to get it going.

I’ve noticed a few times where the key fob would get stuck in the ignition of the car when I turn it off, I would have to turn the car back on and sit it in for at least 5 minutes before the fob would come out. Then the bushing cable got disconnected, the key fob stopped working I had a buy a new one and I’m still having the same issue of the fob getting stuck in the ignition.

ECM causing car to accelerate

Ongoing issue of the key fob getting stuck in the ignition. You have to take the cover of the gear shift off and push the relay to release the lock in the ignition. This has been on multiple dodge darts that I have found.

Message warm engine before start. Car won’t start message key fob damaged when it’s not. Engine clicks but no engine turn over.

I cannot cut the car off without turning off the battery to release the key.

The car is over heating and the ecm (brain) is messed up. I have only made the 2nd payment on the car and only got to drive it about a week and the tire sensor stays on

My number 3 cylinder is the only problem. This had been the the third time I've had this problem in the last three years.

Touchscreen becomes unresponsive making it dangerous to drive, especially due to automatic seat and steering wheel warmers that cannot be disabled as a result.

In the middle of driving or takeing a slight curve, car will shut off. Most of the time it will reboot uconnect system & the AC system as well during drive. Red text is shown on the display of the info screen in side dash but cant see it due too car resetting.

The radio screen goes black and the climate controls do not function as it is controlled together. This means I cannot operate the front or rear defrost which can lead to visibility issues and a potentially dangerous situation when driving.

On two separate occasions two weeks apart my car lost complete power.

While my vehicle was in motion, it completely died while in the middle of an intersection and had a very difficult time getting it started again.

While driving with the cruise control on the car will jerk, the cruise control will turn off and the dash will light up saying electric brake service, I have a video of the panel if needed, also the car will not always start when the clutch is depressed, traction control also lights up for no reason, this has been ongoing since oct, 3 2019

Takata recall: while I was leaving work for break, it started to pour down raining so I decided to pull into a driveway and turn around but my car wouldn't go in reverse, after so many attempts of trying I tried to get it to go in park and when I did the car kept moving toward the street off the side walk.

Evert 2 minutes the media console turns bright white, then shuts off, then reboots. When driving at night the light from the console is blinding. Even if you turn off the screen, it will reboot every 2 minutes.

Issue with the wiring harness that connects the engine computer. Burns through alternators and batteries

My car shut off on its own while I was driving to work, so we were in motion. It has now happened 4 times to me in a span of 3 weeks. I can either be driving during the day or night.

The trunk goes crazy popping open over and over and the only way to close it and to keep it shut is to have your car in drive or reverse with the emergency brake set which is not safe at all especially with children in the car!

There seems to be issue with dodge, chrysler vehicles where car shuts off while driving. This has happened with my dad chrysler 300, my mom dodge durango and now my dodge dart and it appears it is the alternator killing the battery. It is dangerous to put my car on the road as it can shut off any given time and no one can seem to figure out the issue.

When I drive and brake the car cuts off and the steering wheel locks and its hard to start back up im in the middle of the street
