GM HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT MY CAR. IT HAS BEEN IN THREE TIMES FOR AN ELTRICAL ISSUE. THE CAR REVS UP AND SPEEDS UP TO 55 MILES PER HOUR ON ITS OWN. HAS NO POWER STEERING. REDUCED ENGINE POWER. THROWING 47 CODES. NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER. STABILITY TRACK TURNS OFF. DOORS AND AUTO SHUT OFF TURN OFF AND ON WHEN THIS OCCURS.
MY 2009 HYBRID TAHOE ACCELERATES UNCONTROLLABLY ON OCCASION. THE ISSUE ARRISES COMMONLY IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC WHEN THE HYBRID SYSTEM STARTS/STOPS THE GASOLINE ENGINE REGULARLY. I NOTICE IN MANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN SWITCHING GAS/ELECTRIC MODES THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD. THE FEELING IS THE SAME AS LETTING OUT THE CLUTCH QUICKLY ON A VEHICLE WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I HAVE DONE AS MUCH RESEARCH AS I CAN AND IT APPEARS THE PROBLEM POINTS TO ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP(S) AND/OR CONTROL MODULES. WHEN THE SYSTEM OPERATES ON THE GAS ENGINE, THE HYBRID TAHOE'S TRANSMISSION RELIES ON AN ENGINE DRIVEN HYDRAULIC FLUID PUMP. WHEN THE SYSTEM SWITCHES TO ELECTRIC MODE, AN AUXILIARY TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP TURNS ON, DRIVEN BY AN INDEPENDENT ELECTRIC MOTOR. THE LURCH I DESCRIBED RESULTS FROM WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A FAILING PUMP OR CONTROL MODULE, OR A COMBINATION OF THE BOTH WHICH ENGAGES GEARS WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. THIS LURCH IS RATHER DANGEROUS AS I HAVE HAD TO JUMP ON THE BRAKES MANY TIMES TO AVOID REAR ENDING OTHER DRIVERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS WHO OWN, DRIVE OR HAVE DRIVEN THESE GMT900 SERIES HYBRIDS (2008-2013 CHEVY TAHOE/SILVERADO HYBRIDS, GMC YUKON HYBRIDS, CADILLAC ESCALADE HYBRIDS) ALL INDIVIDUALS HAVE DESCRIBED THE DREADED LURCH. SOME SAY REPLACING THE ELECTRIC AUXILIARY TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP SOLVES THE PROBLEM, OTHERS STILL HAVE LURCHING ISSUES. ONE INDIVIDUAL WHO DRIVES A CADILLAC ESCALADE HYBRID CLAIMED TO HAVE ACTUALLY REAR ENDED SOMEONE DUE TO THE UNCONTROLLABLE LURCH. AS FOR MY PERSONAL CAR, THE LURCH OCCURS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK, SOMETIMES MORE. THANKFULLY I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT YET, HOWEVER I FEEL ONE MAY BE IMMINENT. WARNING LIGHT, TURN OFF THE ENGINE. AND THE VEHICLE TUGGED FORWARD. THIS VEHICLE HAS TURNED OFF ON OCCASION AND HAS HAD OTHER ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT, NOW, REMAINS LIT.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES TWICE, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE HUB. I HAVE REPLACE THE DOOR TRIM AT LEAST 4 TIMES. EVERYONE I HAVE MET THAT HAS THE SAME YEAR HAS HAD TROUBLE WITH THE TRIM. I ALSO FEEL THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING WHEN TOWING. *TR
WHEN DECELERATING USING BRAKING AND IN HYBRID MODE THE VEHICEL SURGES AHEAD WHEN THE HYBRID SYSTEM DISENGAGES. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE AND PREVENTS STOPPING. HIGH POTENTIAL TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OR PERSON IF AT A CROSSWALK. CHEVROLET DEALER IIN AVON CT, WAS UNABLE TO FIND CAUSE WITH TWO VISITS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN UNRELATED REPAIR AND THEY DETECTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK HAD BROKEN. IN ADDITION, BOTH FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A FAILURE IN WHICH IT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY RESIST ACCELERATION ACCOMPANIED BY A WARNING CHIME SOUNDING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD UNEXPECTEDLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED TRAVELED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. UPDATED 07/06/12 *BF ON FOUR OCCASIONS THE DOOR BEGAN LOCKING, UNLOCKING, CHIMING AS IF THE DOORS WERE OPEN. THE WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE QUICKLY AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT, FOLLOWED BY ABNORMAL ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE CLEANED YET, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER WHO THEN REPLACED THE CONVERTER BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR A SECOND OPINION WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE TRANSMISSION WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE VEHICLE IS A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ. AT ABOUT 9000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT AND HAD TO STOP IN THE FIRST 1/2 MILE OR SO, WHEN YOU TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP FORWARD AND THEN LOCKUP AND THE ENGINE WOULD DIE. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF IT WAS 30 DEGREES OR 60 DEGREES OUT. IT HAPPENED EVERYTIME THE STOP HAD TO BE DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO CODES SO NOTHING COULD BE WRONG, GM WAS CONTACTED AND THE DEALERSHIP CALLED BACK AND HAD ME LEAVE THE TAHOE THERE. THEY WERE TOLD IT ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED OR WHEN IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS. IT WAS TRIED SHORTLY AFTER I LEFT IT AND THEY CALLED AND SAID NOTHING HAPPENED SO THEY WERE GOING TO LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT AND TRY IT IN THE MORNING. THEY DID AND I GOT A CALL THAT IT ALMOST PUT THE SERVICE PERSON RIDING IN THE PASS SEAT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. LONG STORY SHORTENED, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MANUFACTURED WITH OUT ONE OF THE MAIN BEARINGS, THIS WAS THEIR ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM AND AFTER ABOUT THREE WEEKS IT WAS FINALLY REPAIRED AND I GOT IT BACK. GM, CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THIS AS THEY WERE PART OF THE NOTIFICATION PROCESS AS THEY HAD TO OK ALL REPAIRS ON THE REBUILDING OF THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT INSTALL A NEW ONE. DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS A BEARING OR NOT AS THE TAHOE RAN FINE FOR ABOUT 9000 MILES. *TR
