TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR LOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCK ON THE REAR, DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND GM REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIRS UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY SON IS IN A CAR SEAT AND IS NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR HIMSELF. THERE ARE MULTIPLE THREADS ONLINE OF PEOPLE ALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. SHAME ON GM FOR NOT COVERING THIS WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT!!! *TR
POWER LOCKS ON DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ( WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ) . THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF IN A VEHICLE CRASH AS I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE ACCESSING MY CHILD IN THE REAR SEAT. COULD YOU IMAGINE A CAR ON FIRE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO REACH YOUR CHILD. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL TO HAVE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS REPLACED. THIS CAME UP AS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WHILE SEARCHING FOR A REMEDY. *TR
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED ON THE TWO FRONT DOORS AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR CREATING SIGNIFICANT DIFFICULTY IN BOTH ENTERING AND LEAVING THE VEHICLE. OF PARTICULAR CONCERN WAS THE GREAT DIFFICULTY IN REMOVING CHILDREN FROM THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR. THE MANUAL LOCKS ARE OUT OF REACH OF AN ADULT IN THE FRONT SEAT WHICH ULTIMATELY REQUIRES RETURNING THE KEY TO THE IGNITION AND LOWERING THE REAR WINDOW TO REMOVE A CHILD FROM THE CAR. THIS PROCEDURE IS TIME-CONSUMING AND I HOPE THAT NO ONE EVER NEEDS TO PERFORM THAT PROCEDURE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION SUCH AS A FIRE. *TR
THE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK AT CERTAIN TIMES, YOU SEE THE LOCKS TRY TO MOVE UP YET IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. I NEED TO USE THE KEY. DOOR LOCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOESN'T NOT WANT TO LOCK. CANNOT LOCK THE DOOR BY PUSHING THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB OR LOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK WHEN UTILIZING THE ELECTRONIC KEY FOB FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY, ONLY MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK NOT LOCKING PROPERLY. IT SEEMS THAT THE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ACTUATOR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND THAT IT IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR MANY TAHOE OWNERS. *TR
I OWN A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE HYBRID WITH 55K MILES. THE FRONT AND REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED ONE AT A TIME FROM THE REAR PASSENGER TO PASSENGER TO DRIVERS SIDE OF THE TRUCK FROM 36K UNTIL NOW AT 55K. THE FAULTY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS PREVENT LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OF THE DOORS FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT AS WELL AS WITH THE REMOTE. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO DRIVE, ALL THE DOORS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK. THIS NO LONGER HAPPENS DUE TO FAULTY ACTUATORS. AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE WITH UNLOCKED DOORS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM TO BE WIDESPREAD ON A NUMBER OF CHEVROLET VEHICLES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND ASKED IF THEY COULD REPLACE THEM (AT NO COST TO ME OF COURSE). THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT HE REPLACED A NUMBER OF THEM ALREADY. HE ALSO STATED THAT CHEVY MAY PICK UP THE COST "DEPENDING ON IF I SERVICE MY CAR THERE AND IF I HAVE A HISTORY OF BUYING CHEVY PRODUCTS".
