CRACKED DASHBOARD. *TR
I HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE DASH CRACKS RIGHT NEXT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH SPLITS THE DASH AND MAKES IT WEAKER.
I HAVE A LARGE CRACK IN MY DASH. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND DONE. IT JUST SPLIT.
CRACKED DASHBOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND LEFT UPPER PORTION OF PASSENGER SIDE DASH AIRBAG, VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, CAME OUT ONE MORNING AND CRACKS SHOWED UP, ABOUT A MONTH WENT BY AND PIECES OF DASH STARTED BREAKING OFF DASHBOARD AND FALLING INSIDE DASH AREA
DASH CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES. PULLED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A 'POP' SOUND, STOPPED CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE DASH HAD CRACKED. I FEAR THAT PIECES OF THE DASH WOULD BE SENT FLYING IN THE EVENT OF AN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.
WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE LIFTGAGE, EITHER MANUALLY OR BY PUSHING THE BUTTON, THE LIFTGATE OPENS PARTIALLY THEN SUDDENLY FALLS. I HAVE SEEN A RECALL FOR THIS, HOWEVER I AM NOT ABLE TO LOCATE A RECALL SPECIFICALLY FOR A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. "THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE GAS STRUTS THAT HOLD THE POWER LIFTGATE UP WHEN OPEN," SAID NHTSA IN ITS RECALL SUMMARY. "THESE STRUTS MAY PREMATURELY WEAR AND THE OPEN LIFTGATE MAY SUDDENLY FALL. IT MAY STRIKE A PERSON, INCREASING THEIR RISK OF INJURY."
DOOR LOCK WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, INCLUDING WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS LOCATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON THE DRIVER SIDE ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL.
THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN AND GAUGES PANEL IS CRACKED ON TWO PLACES AND JUST KEEPS GETTING BIGGER. IT RATTLES LOUDLY AS I DRIVE DOWN THE STREET.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES ALTHOUGH THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS GARAGED AND THE SUN SHIELD USED CONSISTENTLY. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AFFECTING SAFETY THROUGH AIRBAG PERFORMANCE OR SHARP PIECES OF DASH FLYING DURING AN ACCIDENT.
MY VEHICLE DASH BOARD HAS A LOT OF CRACKS IN IT. I HAVE ONE NEAR MY AIRBAGS AND TWO NEAR MY STEERING WHEEL.IT RATTLES SO BAD WHEN I DRIVE. THE CRACKS KEEPS GETTING WORST.
DASH BOARD CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROS DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. CRACK CONTINUED UNTIL IT MET THE SEAMS OF DASHBOARD TO AIRBAG.

DASH HAS CRACKED BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ALSO ON THE DRIVER SIDE AT THE JOINT AND CLIMBING TOWARDS THE STEERING HUMP. THE CRACKS SHOWED UP ALMOST AT THE SAME TIME. NO IMPACT TO THE DASH AND ONLY WIPE THEM DOWN WITH A DAMP CLOTH OR DUSTER.
MY DASH HAS 2 CRACKS THAT HAVE APPEARED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE DASH IS STARTING TO BOUNCE AS I DRIVE AND IM WORRIED IT WILL BECOME SEPARATED AND HIT SOMEONE IN THE TRUCK. THERE ARE SO MANY TAHOE OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART. I HAVE A CRACK IN THE CENTER AND 1 OVER THE DRIVER SIDE GAUGES.
I BOUGHT THE 2009 USED CHEVY TAHOE ON AUGUST 1ST 2015. I BEGAN TO NOTICE THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD CLOSE TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BEGAN TO CRACK AND VIBRATE. THE VIBRATION GOT SO BAD THAT THE CRACK SPREAD AND A NEW CRACK APPEARED ON THE PLASTIC DASH ABOVE THE SPEEDOMETER. BOTH CRACKS MAKE THE ENTIRE DASH RATTLE WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVEN OVER 45 MPH. I AM WORRIED THAT IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY, THE PLASTIC WILL FLY INTO THE PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. I'VE TRIED CONTACT COVERT GMC IN AUSTIN, TX WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAID I HAD TO SPEND $1300 TO REPLACE THIS DEFECT.
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE AIRBAG AREA OF THE DASHBOARD. I REPORTED THIS TO GM IN MARCH 2016 AND THEY REFUSE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. TODAY, THERE IS A NEW CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE DRIVERS SIDE NOW. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY 2007 CHEVY AVALANCHE, AND IN 2010, GM REPLACED IT WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. NOW WITH THE TAHOE, THEY REFUSE. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED UNDER A GARAGE AWNING AND WE NEVER USE ANYTHING BUT A DRY RAG TO CLEAN THE DASHBOARDS. THIS IS NO FAULT OF OURS, AND APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHEVY MANUFACTURING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACE. THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED IN OUR 2011 CHEV. SILVERADO PICK UP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS PREMATURE DETERIORATION ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES OF THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HANDLES WERE FRAYING WITH SHARP EDGES. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INDICATED THAT THE TWO FRONT INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA10004 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGE, STRUCTURE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,700.
DASHBOARD CRAKED FROM ONE END OF THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE OTHER END OF THE DRIVERS SIDE. ITS BEING GOING ON OVER TIME, I CAN ONLY THINK IT HAPPENED WHEN IS STATIONARY. HOWEVER, IT MIGHT OF CRACKED WHEN DRIVING ASWELL.
I OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE THAT THE DASH BOARD ALL OF A SUDDEN BEGAN SHOWING CRACKS, WITHIN A PEROID OF 3 MONTHS AFTER NOTICING, THESE CRACKS HAVE TRAVELED UP THE DASH BOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND AT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER. EVENTUALLY THE DASH WILL FALL COMPLETELY IN. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED, THE DASH IS SO BRITAL THAT FRAGMENTS OF THE DASH WILL CAUSE SEVERE CUTS, AND BODILY HARM WITH THE POSSIBILTY OF DEATH.

THE FRACTURE EXTENDED AND CAUSED THE DASHBOARD TO SEPARATE FROM THE BASE, EXPOSING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD FAILURE WAS NOT RECALLED. DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON PASSENGER SIDE AROUND AIRBAG ALSO ON DRIVERS SIDE ABOVE STEERING COLUM. I HAVE 2 CRACKS ON EACH SIDE OF MY DASHBOARD. I HAVE OTHER PEOPLE THAT OWN THE SAME MAKE,MODEL AND YEAR THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
DASHBOARD CRACKED NEAR AIRBAG MODULE. PRESENTS A POTENTIAL HAZARD OF DASHBOARD SHATTERING UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT
I HAVE TWO CRACKS IN MY DASH BOARD RIGHT BY WHERE MY AIR BAGS ARE. ONE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE OTHER IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I VIEW THIS HAS A SAFETY HAZARD, IF FOR SOME REASON I AM IN A WRECK I DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS WOULD AFFECT MYSELF OR MY DAUGHTER OR EVEN IF THIS WOULD PREVENT THE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM WHAT GM WILL DO ABOUT THIS SITUATION..REPLACE..REPAIR ETC.

FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE PEELING PLASTIC WITH SHARP EDGES. A CHILD AND AN ADULT HAVE CUT THEIR HANDS OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE TO GET OUT. NO STITCHES REQUIRED BUT SEVERE CUT. I WENT TO SEE ABOUT REPLACEMENT. TOLD NOT CONSIDERED DEFECT AND THE SAME TYPE OF HANDLES WOULD BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $800. WHY WOULD ANYONE REPLACE THEM WHEN YOU KNOW THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WITH NEW HANDLES. THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER SOLUTION FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR

THE DASH OVER MY STEERING HAS BUSTED AS WELL AS THE DASH AROUND MY AIRBAG IN MY TRUCK FOR UNKNOWN REASON. THE CRACKS CONTINUE TO RUN. I WAS GOING TO CHECK ABOUT HAVING IT POSSIBLY PATCHED BUT FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING SOME I KNOW PERSONALLY. THE CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG IS KIND OF SCARY. *TR

OUR 2009 TAHOE HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS ABOVE THE LEFT UPPER AIRBAG AREA. WE LEARNED FROM FRIENDS THAT THIS IS A COMMON. WE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM THE RESEARCH ON-LINE TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR PRODUCT DEFECT. I AM ALSO SOMEWHAT CONCERNED THAT THIS DEFECT IS AT THE JUNCTION OF THE AIR BAG LID- A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASH AT THE AIRBAG JUNCTION IS SUSPECT OF BEING COMPROMISED. THE OTHER CONCERN IS THAT GM TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED MY SHARE OF COST WILL BE $300.00. OUR ONE FRIEND HAS HAD HIS DASH REPLACED 3 TIMES, TWO OF WHICH WERE AT THE AIRBAG JUNCTION. HE TOLD ME OF ANOTHER FRIEND WITH MULTIPLE REPLACEMENTS. HE ADVISED ME THAT HE WOULD EXPECT THAT MY NEW DASH WOULD LIKELY CRACK IN THE SAME PLACE WITHIN 1-2 YEARS. OUR LOCAL DEALER (REGAL/LAKELAND) HAS ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND DID NOT DISPUTE THE POTENTIAL FOR THE NEW DASH TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE- NOTING THAT THE DASH IS QUITE THIN. *TR
LEFT SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR DOES NOT FUNCTION, WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH EITHER MANUAL BUTTON ON ARMREST OR REMOTE KEYFOB. ASSEMBLY RECEIVES AN ELECTRICAL SIGNAL TO LOCK/UNLOCK BUT MECHANISM DOES NOT TRAVEL ENOUGH TO COMPLETE FULL LOCK/UNLOCK. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILS TO LOCK AT PRESELECTED VEHICLE SPEED. WILL NOT LOCK WITH REMOTE OR DOOR LOCK SWITCH. REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK BY ANY ELECTRONIC MEANS.

BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER INSIDE DOOR HANDLES OF THIS VEHICLE, A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ, WHICH HAVE A CHROME COLORED PLASTIC COATING, HAVE BECOME SHARP AS A RESULT OF PEELING ON THE TOP OF THE HANDLE, CAUSING CUTS TO THE FINGERS OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE OCCUPANTS. CALLS TO GENERAL MOTORS WERE MET WITH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF AN EXISTING AND KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR PART IN THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND TRIM LEVEL, HOWEVER ACCOMMODATIONS ARE ONLY BEING MADE TO REPLACE/REPAIR THOSE THAT WERE INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2007. THE AREA OF THE PEELING "CHROME" IS IN AN IDENTICAL LOCATION ON THE IDENTICAL PART ON THE IDENTICAL TRIM LEVEL OF THE IDENTICAL MODEL OF VEHICLE INCLUDED IN THE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH GM HAS LIMITED ITS INCLUSION OF REPLACEMENT/REPAIR TO A LIMITED AMOUNT OF VEHICLES AS MANDATED/SUGGESTED BY NHTSA BASED UPON ITS INVESTIGATION, HOWEVER IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE SCOPE OF THE INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE WIDENED TO INCLUDE ALL VEHICLES AND OWNERS WHO ARE/WERE AFFECTED BY THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE DOCUMENTED THE INJURIES WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO GM REQUESTING REPLACEMENT/REPAIR HAVE PROVED UNSUCCESSFUL. *TR
