The lifters on one side of my engine failed. This is due to the AFM(Active fuel management) system that GM had in its vehicles from 2016-2021. My truck is a V8 motor and the AFM system drops the motor to 4 cylinders during periods that the vehicle is in stop or coasting.

I was driving normally and all of a sudden it started wanting to downshift from 5th or 6th gear to 2nd or 3rd gear when going up a tiny incline which normally wouldn't be cause for any downshift. 2/18/22- Sanborn Chevy in Lodi, CA Vehicle was towed in for transmission concern found that the transmission pump was whining found 4th thru 6th gear slipping. Dealership had to replace transmission. Upon talking to dealership informed me that they have been replacing a lot of 2015-2016 transmission with the same concern.
