PARKING BRAKE
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured November 15, 2012, to May 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Systems (FMVSS) No. 135 "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software, free of charge. The recall began March 5, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 15100. Note: This recall covers a limited population of vehicles that were remedied incorrectly under recall 14V-541.

In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Systems (FMVSS) No. 135 "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Fix: GM has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 15259. Note: The vehicles covered by this campaign were previously remedied incorrectly under campaigns 14V541 or 15V085.
PARKING BRAKE
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Cadillac XTS vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, to August 22, 2014, and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured November 5, 2012, to September 2, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the electronic parking brake software, free of charge. The recall began on October 28, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 14471.

Your air bag warning light is turning on and off while you drive, which suggests a problem with the air bag system. At the same time, your brake pads are partially dragging against the rotors during normal driving, which can cause premature wear and reduced braking efficiency. The recall said it was completed in 2014, but my parking brake will engage while I'm driving and has risked my life in multiple occasions. So I believe the recall was not done properly as my parking brake still engages while I'm driving.
The ABS and traction control light are always on. Sometimes the brakes kick back up on my foot and the brakes skip until I come to a stop.This doesn't always happen but I have to always be prepared. And there is always a squeaking sound when wheels are in motion. It was never inspected

I WAS DRIVING AND I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES THE CARS STARTS JERKING AND IT FELT AND SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS DRAGGING SOMETHING OR SCRAPPING THE GROUND. MASTER CYL AND BOOSTER FAILURE WHILE IN MOTION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE SIDE DETECTION WARNING INDICATOR FAILED TO OPERATE AND "SIDE DEFECT DETECTION WAS OFF" ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES MADE SQUEAKING NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MEMORIAL HIGHWAY CHEVROLET INC. (1 CHEVY DRIVE, WINDBER, PA 15963, 814-467-4596) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HARNESS CONNECTED TO THE SIDE DETECTION LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO THE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR COST FOR THE SIDE DETECTION LIGHT WOULD BE DISCOUNTED. THE FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,400.

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND I TRIED BREAKING ABD I COULD NOT STOP SO I HAD TO GO ON TO THE CURB WHICH I SIDED WITH A TREE TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR KIDS RIDINGH IN STREET. I TOOK IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH BREAKING. SO I KEPT DRIVING AFTER THAT AND IT IS STILL DOING SO I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING AGAIN WHICH IS MAKING REALLY UPSET BECAUSE I AM SCARED OF HURTING SOMEONE OR MYSELF AND KIDS WHEN IT DOES THAT.
