Filed: May 2016
Your brake line can slip out of its retaining bracket at the front strut, allowing the brake hose to rub against the tire and wear through. This causes brake fluid to leak out, which reduces your braking power and could lead to complete brake failure—as happened during the incident reported. The fix involves installing an additional retaining clip to secure the brake line and replacing any damaged brake hoses.
