2020 Volkswagen Tiguan Body & Structure Problems

Your interior overhead console has detached from the roof of your vehicle. You temporarily secured it with tape, but this is only a temporary fix. The dealer is aware of the issue and can properly reattach or replace the console.

The overhead console hangs down with wires blocking my rearview mirror and creating a blind spot on the right mirror. Volkswagon in Colorado told me that the console replacement part is on a national back order with no ETA at the time. My safety and the safety of others are put at risk because the overhead console swings while I am driving, which is a major distraction. I have to use one hand to keep the overhead console where it's supposed to be so I'm driving with one hand. Additionally, it blocks my view to my right mirror, impeding me from doing lane changes. The overhead console fell down and was hanging by the cables connected to it which control the sunroof motor, SOS system, Info button, rear interior lights and driver/passenger dome lights. It hangs between driver and passenger at roughly 4 inches from the roof and obscures peripheral vision and usage of the rear-view mirror. Finally, if it occurred while driving it could easily have caused an accident.

Overhead console falls out for no reason, impairing forward vision. Came out of work and found it hanging. Needed to drive with one hand and hold the console with the other. VW is aware of this and is not notifying owners. My dealer has several waiting for parts that are taking a month. Am I supposed to drive an unsafe vehicle for a month?
