After a tree fell on your Tiguan, multiple systems started malfunctioning — your entertainment system, cruise control, and tire pressure monitor turned on and off randomly, your horn stopped working, and warning lights for the seat belt, airbag, and tires came on. Most concerning, fuel leaked from the vehicle in an abnormal amount, exposing you and your dog to fuel fumes and requiring medical attention. The dealer found that your water pump and fuel pump needed replacement to fix these issues.

The contact owns a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, an abnormal fuel odor was detected. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fuel line leak. The dealer informed the contact that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
I PREVIOUSLY FILED A COMPLAINT ON NHTSA (ID 11310178). SINCE THEN THE VEHICLE HAS NOT STARTED TWICE AND LEFT ME STRANDED HAVING TO TOW TO VW DEALERSHIP AN ADDITIONAL TWO TIMES. AFTER THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN IN MARCH, I OPENED A CLAIM WITH VW CORPORATION OF AMERICA, INC. THE CLAIM WAS DENIED WITH A GENERIC RESPONSE AND VW BLATANTLY IGNORED MY CONCERNS OF SAFTEY WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE. APRIL 24TH THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AGAIN AND IS CURRENTLY BEING LOOKED AT, AT THE VW DEALERSHIP. I CONTACTED THE VW CORPORATION OF AMERICA, INC. CASE MANAGER AGAIN AND AGREED TO OPEN A CLAIM OF RETRIBUTION ON THE VEHICLE AFTER THEY CONFIRM THE FAILURE TO START FOR THIS INSTANCE. THIS VEHICLE DISPLAY SEVERAL CONCERNS WITH SAFETY FOR THE OWNER AND CANNOT BE USED AS RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION BUT VW CONTINUES TO TURN A BLIND EYE TO THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF THE SITUATION THAT CAN ARISE FROM THIS.
